Innocent Thief – Episode 7

“Zoella is not who you think she is” Harsha said to Emmaline. They were coming from the cafeteria.
“Then who is she?” Emmaline asked confusedly.
“She is the best in this school. She was a carefree child, the most brilliant student in MHS. No one can defeat her both in education and sports. I just don’t know why she suddenly changed. Everyone was her friends both boys and girls and she was loved by everyone.” Harsha explained.
“Why are you qualifying her with past tense?” Emmaline asked.
“Because it was past. Everyone now hate her because she is a thief.” Harsha replied.
“Are you among them? I mean do you also hate her?”Emmaline retorted.
” No … I can remember the day l was bullied in the classroom , she stands for me . She treats me for lunch the day l lost my money. I am from poor family, l get the chance to come to this school only by scholarship. I thought I am the most brilliant student but the day I tried to challenge her, she poured it on my face…. I can still remember all those times she would met me by the road side and she would asked to pick me up. So I can’t hate her, not in this world.” She said gratefully.
“Then, we should try to be her friends. No condition is permanent, she is just passing through her own world I know she will overcome it “. Emmaline said pitiful.
“I’m just trying to avoid being called a friend of thief”.
“It doesn’t matter, as long as you are not a thief” . Emmaline cautioned.
“But she yelled at you when you tryna talk to her “. Harsha asked.
“Yes. She tell me to stay away from her but I think I should give her time.” Emmaline said.
“Okay” Harsha said as they made their way to class.
“Thief! Thief!! Thief!!!” Many students were haling and clapping their hands at Zoella who carried laptop and phone on her head while the teachers were trying to stopped them from shouting.
“Go to your class every body and you Zoella follow me to the school custody”. Mr Rogers said and Zoe followed him.
“What happened?” Emmaline asked no one in particular.
“She stole David’s PC and Micah’s phone, I saw her when she was about to hide it behind the restroom.” Keaira said.
“Are you stalking her? Keaira this is your second time, who is the second witness?” Emmaline asked.
“Am I lying on her? You must be stupid after helping you with your new wrist watch “. Keaira yelled.
“How dare you call me stupid? Emmaline shouted and slapped keaira, they dragged themselves into fight. Their classmate were about to got them separate when two senior jumped out of nowhere.
“This school rules states that no one should fight and the punishment that will follow is you will go to detention room”. One of them said and dragged them to detention room.
It was closing hours, Zoella had just been released from punishment while Emmaline just left the detention room, they met each other.
“Hi Zoe” Emmaline greeted with a wide grin.
“What do you want from me?” Zoella asked frustratedly.
“I’m not here to bully you, I just want to be friend and I’m sorry for reporting you yesterday.” Emmaline apologize.
“No problem because everyone used to be my friend but now no one want to be a friend to a thief.” She said.
” I’m not like them. Can we exchange contact?” Emmaline asked.
“Yes, sure “. They exchanged contact and they were about to separate when Harsha joined them with their bags.
“How was detention room, hope you enjoyed it?” Harsha teased.
“It not new to me, I always went there in my former school.” Emmaline scoffed.
“Why did you went to detention room?” Zoella asked.
“She fight with keaira because of you “. Harsha replied giving their bags to them. “Let’s go “. She said and they started walking to the garage where Zoella’s driver has been waiting for her.
“What happened in the school custody?” Emmaline asked.
“Can I trust you guys?” She asked.
“Yes!” They said in unison.
“I was made to work like clock in the garden and then the school has given me a week suspension.” She said and they gasped.
“They also request to see my parent” she added.
“But why are you stealing? You have everything.” Harsha retorted.
“I don’t know, maybe it’s destiny or fate.” She said as they reached her car. “Hop in let me give you a ride ” . She offered.
Oh thank you, we are grateful” . They said in unison as they sat beside her….
