Innocent Thief – Episode 6

Zoella woke up with depression. She yawned tiredly and glance at the Wall clock in her room. It was 6 :00am , she adjusted herself and slept back. She woke up an hour later to find her mother in her room yelling.
“Zoella, what has come over you? This is 7:00 am for crying out loud. Won’t you prepare for school”? Mrs Jones asked in anger.
“Mom, why are you shouting, I’m not going to school today”. She exhaled.
“You are not going to school! Are you out of your mind?” Mrs Jones shouted and moved toward her. “What happen to you Zoe, you never missed school even if you sick to death, you will still manage to go. What is happening?” Mrs Jones asked.
“Nothing. I’m fine.” She replied still turning on the bed.
“Baby I know you are not fine. Talk to me , is anything bothering you? Please don’t hide anything from me I’m your mother ” . Mrs Jones pressed and tears rolled down Zoella s cheeks which got her mother anxious.
“Mom can I steal?” She asked in tears and her mother shook her head.
“No, child what did you mean? You can’t steal, I don’t train you to become a thief and you will never be in Jesus name.” Mrs Jones prayed. “Is something wrong with you?”
“No, Mom I’m fine. I will just get dress for school.” She said and stood up from where she laid.
“Be fast, so you won’t get late to school. I love you.” Her mother said in shaking voice as she to the bathroom.

Family of four could be seen at a table discussing after they ate their breakfast. Father, mother and the twins.
“How was your school yesterday Maline? Hope you like the school?” Mr Scott asked his daughter.
“Yeah. I love it but you won’t believe a girl stole my new wrist watch I bought for Coney’s birthday party.” Emmaline complained.
“Is she that poor?” Mrs Scott asked.
“Mom, she is not poor. Even her own wrist watch is far far better than the one she stole.” Emmaline remarked.
“Then what did you do?” Asked Emmanuel, her twin brother.
“I reported to the class teacher and she was punished for I. When I firstly got there, the girl was so nice to me not until she stole my thing.” She explained.
“You shouldn’t had reported her when you know, she was nice to you.” Emmanuel said.
“If she doesn’t report her, she will still went on to steal something valuable than wrist watch.” Mrs Scott said.
“You need to stop talking and get ready for school, this is quarter to 7:00am. I’m off to work.” Mr Scott said and left for work.
They went to their various school, they took different cab because they were not rich enough to own a different car. They only had two cars, one for their dad and other for their mom.
Emmaline got to school a little bit early, she went to her seat and got herself seated. Then a teacher entered, she was their class teacher Mrs Jarrett. She started with her lecture immediately after she gets to the class.
Emmaline looked at her side and see that Zoella is not on her seat.
“She doesn’t come to school. Maybe because of what happened yesterday”. She thought inwardly.
After a while the lecture was over and the teacher was about to leave the class when Zoella entered. They drifted attention to her as they were surprised she never came late.
“Miss Zoella Jones, are you just coming?” Mrs Jarrett asked and she nodded. “Meet me in my office right now”. Mrs Jarrett said and left the class.
“What did you want to turn yourself into?” Mrs Jarrett asked as Zoella sat in front of her in her office. “Huh? Zoella answer me! Why did you want to change your life negatively? We are proud of you, everyone is proud of you, you be in school magazine you are the class monitress. You suppose to lay a good example. What came over you Zoe, yesterday you stole wristwatch , I still heard you stole two biscuits day before and now you came late to school. Is that good example? What makes you change from best to worse” . Mrs Jarrett scolded.
Zoella did not know what to say. She only bent her head and cried.
“Crocodile tears doesn’t solve anything, you need to change or else you will be remove from class monitress. If you don’t have anything to say, leave.” Mrs Jarrett said and Zoella stood up slowly and left the office.
She wiped her tears before entering the class…
