Innocent Thief – Episode 18

Zoella became lonely. Whenever her mother asked her to accompanied her to the mall, she would rejected saying it is not meant for a thief like her. She makes going to the beach her hobby, she spent most of her time at the beach.
One day she met a guy named Emmanuel. It was a sunny day after church so, she came there as she always does. The wind blew her hair all over her shoulder when she heard someone humming near her. She turned swiftly toward the direction to see the guy coming towards her. She stood up ready to leave when the guy spoke up.”Don’t leave because of me, I mean no harm”. The guy said as he stood in front of her. “Can I knew that beauty?”
“Stay away from me.” Said Zoella as she sat down on the ground but surprisingly the guy sat beside her.
“Actually… I’m Emmanuel Scott. Final year student in upper high school”.
At the mention of the name, Zoella looked up and stared at him.
“He looks familiar like someone I know.” She thought about the face and then name, Emmanuel Scott. Then something in her pushed her to ask.
“Your name sound familiar. Are you somehow relate with Emmaline Scott?” She asked slowly.
“Yeah, she is my twin sister. Do you know her?” He asked and she nodded.
“Anyway, what make a beautiful girl like you grief? You suppose to be happy anytime “. Emmanuel said.
“Can I trust you with my private issues?” Zoella asked.
“Yeah,as you can see I’m here to help, if you don’t mind “. Emmanuel responded.
“I’ve once be; an happy and carefree girl but all of sudden I began to steal to the extent of being expelled from school. I steal without my intention but who will understand, I nearly spoiled my mom’s career the day I stole in the mall. I’m ashame of myself.” She cried bitterly and Emmanuel felt sorry for her.”You are amazing Ella. You may be wondering how I know your name . Emmaline is your friend and she tells me a lot about you and ever since that day I’ve been wishing to meet you. Now I do, I meet you.” He beamed while Zoella waited for him to offer his help.
“I have a priest who can help you to stop stealing, but I don’t know if you will believe me or not “. Emmanuel said and paused as if he was lost in thought.
“Does she knows the priest?” She asked.
“Who?” He retorted. “Emmaline “. She replied.
“No, she doesn’t.”
“Then how would I believe you?” She asked with a brow raised.
“You need to believe me Ella, this is a serious matter and I know the priest will help. Okay let me explain, I was strolling around the street one day when I met this elderly man, he looks tired and stressed so, I went to him. He prayed for me and says whenever I need help I should not hesitate to come for aid. That’s why I’m offering you this help. Just let’s go I know the address and you will thank me later Ella “. He explained.
“I’m not a fool, I can’t trust just like that. If you want me to follow you, you need to come with me and meet my parent.” Zoella demanded.
“Okay, that is not a problem: let’s go “. He replied and they left.”Who is this Zoella? Don’t tell me you have boyfriend already. After being expelled from school you think having boyfriend is solution to your problem? Does he knows that you are a thief? Do you even realize it…..” Mrs Jones kept bombard Zoella with questions until Mr Jones shouted ” Enough”
“Marissa, you need to cool down your temper. You don’t even know why he was here in the first place, calm down and listen to what he has to say.” Mr Jones shuttered.
“Actually, I have a priest who can help Ella overcome her stealing issues because it can not be cure with medical something but in spiritual way. Just try this and you will thank me later.” He rushed and they lost in thoughts.
“Where does she live” ? Mr Jones asked.
“Down the hill ” . He replied.
“Do you mean we’ll climb the hill”! Exclaimed Mrs Jones.
“No worries, there is another way we can pass to avoid climbing the hill.” Emmanuel said.They arrived at the priest place after a lot of drive and walk.
He sat with three elderly men and two women discussing Matter affecting their church when they walked in.
“Good morning sir”. Emmanuel greeted the priest with a slight bow.
“Oh my saviour! Is this you Emmanuel?” The priest asked offering a hand shake.
“Daddy, I bring this people to you. This girl is having a spiritual problem of stealing without her intention so….” Emmanuel keep on explaining when one of the women interrupted him.
“I see it all the moment you step into this compound. You don’t have to explain to far, take your seat.” Miss Mary said and they sat down on the wooden bench lay across the path beside them.
“Thank you but we are here for solution. All we need is solution because she had been expelled from school for this.” Mr Jones said impatiently.
“Easy, the task is simple. We all have to fast for three days including all of you. Then come back here for powerful prayer and deliverance.” The priest explained and they left after mumbled okay unwillingly.
“I don’t think I can do this.” Said Mrs Jones.
“Don’t say that Marissa, the person to complain here is Emmanuel not you. She is our daughter in good and bad. So, it’s our responsibility to do anything that will make her overcome this”. Mr Jones argued.
“Sir, Ma, I need to get going before my family start to get suspicious”. Emmanuel said.
“Oh ! good boy thanks for your time and help. Goodbye.” Said Mr Jones as Emmanuel depart from them.
“He is such a good boy willing to help and I promise to compensate him after all this.” Mrs Jones promised.
Three Days Later
Zoella knelt down in the middle of prayer warriors and the priest while they kept firing prayer upon fire.
Mr Jones, Marissa and Emmanuel stay outside as insisted by the priest. “You don’t have enough ability to stay with us, you will have to stay outside and pray because we don’t want the curse to to transfer into anyone of you.” The priest said and they went out.
