Dominic’s POV

“What do you want?” I found the question leaving my mouth before I could stop it and when there was nothing for me to do to reverse it, I threw a blueberry into my mouth.

Genevieve’s turbulent ocean-blue eyes lit up with mischief, but I didn’t get a chance to ask what could be conjuring up in her pretty little head before her soft lips pressed gently against mine.

I don’t think there will ever be a time I will not be surprised at the feeling of our lips pressed against each other. It felt so natural on the first night and still feels the same.

Because it took me a little time to re-register that feeling, she took the lead as usual. She kissed me like I truly belonged to her and even when I responded to the sweet feel of her lips on mine, she still managed to take the lead before she used her tongue to take the fruit from my mouth.

She didn’t just do that, did she?

That was so ridículously hot.

Her gaze ping-ponged between my own eyes, blissful content shinning in them. “Nothing, for now.”

Clearly not satisfied with simply one kiss, I popped another blueberry in my mouth, stepping a little closer to her, a small smirk on my face. Genevieve’s lips instantly tugged up in a smile at my actions.

“What about what I want? Will you give it to me?” I asked.

“Well, it depends on what it means. What do you want?”

“You.”

Without any hint of hesitation, Genevieve told me. “You have me. Now tell me, what do you really want?”

What I really want is to destróy her, Genevieve King, the daughter of Kyle Walker, my parents’ murdérer. But do I really want that?

Do I want that now or even anymore? The answer is no. I can’t even bare to see her húrt in the slightest much more to completely rúin her. However, I will destróy her; it was my own little promise to myself to turn the livés of the Kings upsidedown like they did mine.

And because I can’t tell her all of that, I chose the thing that will surely make me forget this thoughts even if it’s momentarily. “Kiss me.”

“Didn’t I already do that?”

“Don’t they say ‘second time is the charm’?”

I know that wasn’t the right saying and even if I didn’t, she was going to correct me either way.

“I don’t think that is how it goes, Dominic.”

“Then, how does it go?”

“I think it is time is the charm, but who knows I might be wrong.” Genevieve didn’t let those words linger in the air for long before she scoffed with an eye roll. “Yeah, that can never happen because I am always right.”

Now, that made me laugh. She has that power over me to make even the smallest things seem hilarious.

“You are?”

“You don’t think so, Dominic?” she asked, her tone daring me to disagree. God forbíd I would be the reason she wasn’t happy today. “Dominic, I asked a question. Answer it.”

“If you think so, then that’s alright.”

“Yeah, but what do you think?”

“Nobody is always right.”

Well, except for me—I’m never wrong. But I don’t tell her that because Genevieve’s glares are something no one wants to face on such a peaceful day.

“I am different.” The confidence in her voice was unshakeable, not even by me.

That wasn’t a lie. She is genuinely unlike any other girl I’ve spent time with. Genevieve King is so different that she makes me talkative and always smiling whenever she’s near—that’s how unique she is.

My next action was completely impulsive. One moment I was lost in those dazzling orbs, and the next, I was cupping her face. Genevieve stared back at me, leaning into my palm resting on her cheek.

I stroked her cheek with my thumb, my warmth mingling with the coolness of her skin. Her eyelids fluttered closed, and an exhale left her mouth, brushing against my face.

Genevieve King was exceptionally beautiful—bewitchiñgly gorgeous, in fact. That is the only thing her parents did right—bringing her into the world. Her blue eyes, stunning strawberry blonde hair, and exquisitely pretty face were only the beginning. We hadn’t even talked about her body yet.

“Beautiful” barely begins to describe her otherworldly beauty. Everything about her complemented her perfectly, and every time I looked at her, my breath hitched.

“Do you know how gorgeous you are?” The question was undoubtedly silly because, of course, she knows.

She takes immense pride in herself. She doesn’t need anyone to tell her that because I’m sure she sees it every time she looks in the mirror.

However, she blinked, clearly taken aback by my sudden inquiry. It didn’t last long before she shook her head. “No, why don’t you tell me?”

“I could just show you instead.”

“No, hearing it from your mouth sounds even better.”

“Why?”

“Because you’re Dominic Morozov.” Genevieve replied. “I quite value your validation.”

“Well, you shouldn’t.”

“Why?”

“Because you’re Genevieve King.” I said. “Kings don’t need anyone’s validation.”

“You’re right.”

“What’s my reward, then?”

“Hey, that’s my line.”

“So, I don’t have permission to use it?” I tilted my head to the side.

“No. No, you don’t.”

“That’s not very nice of you.”

“I’m not nice.”

“That’s my line.”

“Well, I took it.”

“You can take mine, and I can’t take yours?” She nodded. “Why is that?”

“Because you are mine, Dominic Morozov—mine.” That same confidence wrapped around her words, accompanied by an absurd certainty.

Weirdly enough, I didn’t hàte it. She is such a peculiar girl, capable of unraveling me, and I don’t think I’ll ever stress that enough.

“And are you mine?”

I used to hàte it when she talked to another boy, and I loathéd it even more now that I’ve had a taste of her. The fact that some random undeserving idiót had her before me infurlated me to my core, and I won’t stand by and watch anyone else have her. I’m ready to use every weàpon in my arsenal to make that clear.

Genevieve shrugged, nonchalantly, if I may add. “Sure, if you want.”

“I do want,” I told her.

We may or may not have kissed, and the kiss definitely didn’t turn into a full makeout session before we had breakfast that was already cold, by the way.

                            ☆☆☆☆

“How was it? I want every little detail of what went down over there!”

I ignored that voice and made my way to my room. However, the owner of the voice followed me and even sat on my bed, peering up at me with her golden brown eyes, excitement and anticipation shining in them.

“Come on, Dominic,” she whined, shaking her body like a child throwing a tantrum. “Tell me.”

“No, Rory. Go away, I’m tired from the flight.”

“You don’t look tired.” My sister dismissed my lie as if it was nothing. “Did Genny finally get to you?”

When hasn’t she?

Sensing her mistake, she quickly corrected herself. “I meant, did she get you to stop being all Dominic for a short while?”

Genevieve has said something similar to that about me being all Dominic on her. I have no idea what it means, but I can say it wasn’t pleasant.

“What’s supposed to mean?”

And oh, I just arrived home in England. Genevieve and I took a night flight because she wanted to see what the sky looks like from up close at night.

“It means exactly what you heard. So, tell me, did she?”

My problem got worse when I heard another pestering voice. Dexter barged into my room with a knowing smile. “Did he say anything?” He asked my sister, and she shook her head as a response, then he faced me with a frown. “Why won’t you talk? I want the deets.”

Aurora folded her arms over her chest, also frowning. “So do I!”

“Nothing happened.” I lied.

“Lying doesn’t suit you,”

Dexter nodded in agreement. “Yeah.”

“Do you two really think Genevieve can make me do something I shouldn’t do, like what you are thinking?”

I instantly regretted the question as soon as it left my mouth because of the mischievous and knowing smirk on both of their faces.

“Yes!” They both exclaimed. “Now, tell us!”
