“Welcome Mr and Mrs Jones, have your seat. How is work and hope there’s no problem at home?” Mr Logan, the principal asked as Zoella and her parent sat in front of him.

“Everything is fine Mr Logan. I’m nervous, you never wrote such letter to us before I’m scared, what is happening in the school to my daughter?” Mr Jones asked nervously.

“That’s how it also caught me ambuscade because it never happened to her before.” Mr Logan began not knowing how to reveal the truth.

“What is the matter? Call a spade a spade, I have somewhere important to go.” Mr Jones said impatiently.

“Hmm… I don’t really know how to say it but… Reason we invite you here is to let you know about the sudden change of your child’s behavior in the school. You know your daughter is a notable and well known in this school but all of a sudden she started stealing…… I mean she started stealing her…. her classmate’s things……” He had not finished his statement when Mrs Jones interrupted him.

“What did you mean by stealing? My daughter… Stealing in the school?$” she asked in disbelief.

“Yes, actually we have…..” He was interrupted again.

“I’m not done, what kind of accusation is that? Thief is a bad offense and my daughter will never steal. “Mrs Jones argued.

“Marissa stop. Let him speak; I’m hearing you Mr Logan.” Mr Jones said. What did she stole?

“Last week she stole two biscuits from her classmate’s bag, same day before yesterday she stole the new girl’s wristwatch and yesterday she also stole a laptop and two phones. She was about to hide it behind the restroom when a girl caught her. And the school rules and regulations state that anyone who steal shall be given suspension. So, she is now on a week suspension.” Mr Logan explained.

“Can you really hear yourself? My daughter steal what she already has. If someone wants to steal, he/ she will steal what she doesn’t have.” Mrs Jones argued.

“Marissa, you need to calm down, Zoe is all this true?” Mr Jones asked and she nodded in tears.

“Dad, I swear I don’t know how it happened “. She sobbed.

“So, you mean you did it huh what else do you want Zoella? This is wrong…. how could you Zoe disappointed me? Oh no!” Mrs Jones shouted angrily and stood up ready to leave.

“You don’t have to this angry Marissa, remember we brought a car here.” Mr Jones cautioned.

“I didn’t train her to be a thief and by the way, the car key is with you so I will take cab.” Said Mrs Jones as she stamped out of the office.

“Mr Jones you need to sign the suspension form, and I will advise you to take therapist advice.” Mr Logan advised as Mr Jones signed the space he was directed to sign.

“Thank you very much,  Zoe let’s go.” Mr Jones left with his daughter to the hospital.

When they got to the hospital, the doctor test her and say nothing happened to her mentality that she only need to rest.

“Mom I swear, I don’t know when and how it happened to me please. I’m sorry.” Zoella begged her mother who would not talk to her.

“You disappoint me, I trust you and I belief you would never done such a thing but you make me realize that you don’t worth my trust.” Mrs Jones cried.

“Believe me Mom, I promise not to do such a thing again. I will be a good girl from now on.” She pledged but her mother said nothing, she just stared at her like a statue.

“Marissa you need to stop this. She will turn a new leaf as she had promised. So, please forgive her.” Mr Jones pleaded.

“I can’t hold grudges against her, by the way she is our daughter and that’s if she adhere to her promise.” She said.

“I will “. Zoella said and stood up from where she knelt to hug her mother and she pets her.

Keaira jumped in excitement in her room, she sipped from the alcohol in her glass cup and fell on her big comfy bed.

“What a perfect embarrassment. This is even better than death, if she died, people will just mourn and forget about her but to be a thief is kindly Interesting. Zoella, you will regret of coming to life I promise you. I can’t just get my mind off how she was humiliated by her love one, how she shed tears knowing a brilliant girl like her could be a thief. I can now be the class monitress and the school role model. I need to celebrate this.” She said and stood up from the bed. She stroted to the sitting room to meet her worst nightmare.

She wanted to run back to her room but he had saw her.

“Keaira babe, how are you doing?” Her stepfather asked as he walked to where she stood and carried her in bridal style to his room.

“Dad, this ain’t right.” She said and moved away from him.

“What did you just say? Are you insane?” Mr Hudson rasped angrily.

It is wrong Dad. How can you be using me when you know I’m your stepdaughter, this ain’t fair and I’m…. ” Before she could complete her statement, two thunderous slap landed on her smooth cheek which made her to fell on the floor.

Mr Hudson removed his belt and started whipping her mercilessly till she gets bruises all over her body.

“Now, let me make it clear to you, whenever I try to have my way with you and you complain, you gonna regret of coming to life.” He said in anger and had his way forcefully.
