ALEXANDER POV
I was having a drink in my mini-bar with the thought of her on my mind. Today was the deadline she was to give me feedback about my broken vessel, but no sign of her. I clenched my fist angrily.
“Does she take me for a fool? She is messing with the wrong person”. I gulped my drink and then one of my guards came to me. ” What is it?”.
“There is a lady here to see you”. He said and I wondered who it was.
I never bring any of my mistresses to my house, none of them know where I live, even when they try convincing me to bring them to my house, I refuse because none of them are worth it, they are just for fun and nothing more.
” How does she look?”.I asked sipping my drink and he described her and I suddenly reflected on who it was.”Hmm, she finally came back”. I smirk.”Let her in”. I said and he left.
I continued with my drink when suddenly she walked in, I was surprised by her mood, her eyes were swollen and it was obvious that she was crying, I wondered why she was sad and my mind suddenly reflected on that good-for-nothing guy she called a boyfriend. At that moment I wanted to rush to her and embrace her in my arms to ease her pain, but I had to pretend that I didn’t care.
“You”. I was interrupted by her sudden attitude as she fell to her knees sobbing.
” Please you have to help me, my grandmother is dying, the doctor said she needs urgent surgery or she will die, I don’t want to lose my grandmother, she is the only family I have left, please help me, I promise to sign the contract, I will work for you, please save my grandmother, I don’t mind working for you all my life, please!”. She begged sincerely.
I suddenly felt her pain and I hate to see her like this.
“What happened to your grandmother?”. I asked nonchalantly.
” She has a blood clot in her heart. Please help me”.
“Sure, I will help you, but on the condition that you will never go back on your words”.
” Yes! I won’t, I promise, anything you want me to do, I will do it”.
“Ok, you said it”. I sip from my drink.
~~HOSPITAL~~
Some hours later, I came to the hospital with her, I paid for her grandmother’s surgery and asked the doctor to commence the treatment, she was given a book to sign while her grandmother was taken to the emergency room. I sat down watching how she was pestering around the hall looking restless, at that moment I wanted to move to her and hug her in my arms and tell her everything would be alright, but I had to hold back my pride. Another hour passed and we were still waiting, soon the emergency room code turned green and the doctor came out sweating on his forehead.
” Doctor, how is my grandmother?”. She asked curiously.
“Relax! She is fine now, the surgery was successful”. He said she sighed in relief as tears fell from her eyes.
” Thank you so much, doctor”. she said smiling.
“Is nothing, after the nurses are done dressing her, you can go and see her”.
” Ok, thank you”.
“You are welcome, please excuse me”. he walked in my direction and gave me a handshake before he left for his office.
I could see the excitement in her eyes as she kept thanking God, and then she turned in my direction and gave me a slight bow.
” Thank you”. She said firmly.
“Don’t thank me yet, you have two days to stay with your grandmother when you are done you will come to sign the contract”. I said and she nodded
I stared at her for a while and left the hospital.

AURORA POV
I was with my grandmother in the hospital bed till she came out of consciousness, I couldn’t be happier to see her alive and healthy again, after two days she was discharged, and I brought her back home.
” Am so happy you are back to your feet again”. I said smiling at her.
“All thanks to you, but I am curious”. She said.
” About what Granny?”.
“Where did you get the money for my surgery and for the hospital bill?”.
” I”. I sputtered.
“Aurora, Where did you get the money from?”.
” Granny, that doesn’t matter anymore, what matters is that you are alive”.
“No, I need to know, we haven’t paid our debt and now there is another one involved, tell me where you get the money from?”.
” Actually, Granny is a long story, it was my boss”.
“Your boss? Which of them? I know you have many people you are working with it”.
” This one is my new boss, he offered me a job while you were sick “. I lied.
“Oh really? What type of job?”.She asked and I could see the excitement in her eyes.
” Cleaning Job, I will start work tomorrow, but I won’t be coming home regularly”.
“Why?”.
” Because of the distance, I will be coming home during the weekend sometimes, but not to worry, I will hire someone to take care of you”.
“You don’t have to do that, I will be fine”.
” No Granny, I can’t leave you all alone in this house”.
“Okay, if you say so, I wish you the best in your new job”.
” Thank you, Granny”. I hugged her on the chair as tears dropped from my eyes.
An hour later, I was packing my stuff when suddenly I heard noises outside our building, I took a peek from the window to see it was the people I was owed debt, I wondered why they were here so early, it was as if they all gang up to track me at my house. I freaked out and rushed to my grandmother’s room to see her sleeping soundly, I didn’t want anything that would stress her, so I locked her window and door to prevent her from hearing the commotion outside. I came out and all of them attacked me pulling my clothes and calling me all sorts of names, I pleaded with them, but none could listen to me, suddenly, I felt a hand pull me out of their midst, I was stunned to see who it was.
“Is there a problem here?”. He asked and his voice was like a roaring lion, I could see the fear in everyone’s eyes. his presence alone commands respect and authority.
👩 ” She owes us money and refuses to pay back”
“Yes!”. Everyone agreed angrily.
” How much is the money?”. He asked as his hard gaze was fixed on them.
I was embarrassed by what was going on as every one of them began to call the money I owed them, I was shocked by some of them adding times two of the money I owed, I couldn’t say anything, I kept quiet with my face bow to the ground.
Some minutes every one of them left my house after he paid them all the money I owed them and he even added extra money for their troubles, there was so much excitement on everyone’s faces as they left thanking him.
“I”. I tried to speak but I couldn’t find my voice because of the way he was staring at me.
” Why do you like getting yourself into trouble?”.He asked.
I couldn’t raise my face to look at him because I was ashamed, and then my grandmother’s voice interrupted us.
“Aurora is everything okay?”. She asked and I rushed to her quickly.
” Grandma, you are awake, but why did you come out, you should be resting”.
“I was, but I heard voices that is why I came out”. She said and her gaze landed on the man standing behind us.” Who is he? Is he the boss you were talking about who hired you?”.She asked smiling as she walked slowly to meet him.”Thank you, my son, I am so happy for what you did for me and my grandchild”.She said sincerely.
I could see the confused look on his face and he was trying to smile at my grandmother.
“Grandma, please let’s go inside, you need to rest”. I said as I ushered her inside while she kept turning her back to look at the man
We got to her room and helped her lay down on the bed.
” Why didn’t you ask your boss to come in?”.
“No granny, he was about to leave when you came out, just relax while I rushed to see him off”.
” Okay, say a very big thank you to him for me “.
” I will Granny, now try and sleep”. I covered her with the blanket and I went back outside to see he was already gone. I sighed tiredly. “Another debt to pay Aurora”. I went back inside to continue arranging my stuff.

The next day, I was getting ready to go when I heard a knock on the door, I rushed to open the door to see a young elegant lady looking neat and simple.
” Good day miss”. She said smiling at me.
“Good day, how may I help you?”. I asked.
” My name is Erica, I was sent here by Mr.Alexander to work for your Granny”. She said politely
I was confused by the name, and I wondered who Alexander was, then her cell phone rang and she picked it up, she talked for a while and gave me the phone.
“Hello?”. I said as I placed the phone in my ear and his voice came up and I suddenly recognized who he was.
” She will be in charge of taking care of your grandmother while you are working for me”. He said from the other end of the phone before I could say anything, he hung up.
“Who the hell does he think he is”. I thought to myself angrily.
I took the young lady in and showed her to my grandmother, and I explained everything she needed to know and the kind of food my grandmother needed to eat and to avoid, after all the explanation, my grandmother suddenly felt attracted to the girl and both started discussing. I kissed my grandmother goodbye as I rolled my luggage out of the house.
I stood at the bus stop waiting for a cab and suddenly my mind reflected back to Charles, where could he be? His number was still not connecting, I also went to his mother’s place, I could see the sadness in her eyes not knowing where her son could be, I became restless, and I blamed myself for everything, if I hadn’t run to him for help, he would have gone missing.
” Please Charles, just be safe wherever you are, I miss you so much, everyone is worried, please come back safety”. I prayed silently, and a cab stopped in front of me, I entered and he drove away heading to the location I told him. Along the driveway, I couldn’t help but shed tears, my whole life would be in the hands of a monster, I began to picture the suffering I would be going through in his house, the more I kept thinking about it the more I shed a tear.
