The Next day Alex and Richard were in the office chatting, meanwhile, Aurora was in the printer room getting a photocopy of some files. Nina was in her office working when she got a call from Alex.
📞”Hello sir”. She said on the phone.
📞”Hello Nina, can you come to my office?”.
📞”Yes sir, I will be right there”. She hung up as she stood up to leave. Some moments later, she knocked, and Alex ushered her in, she entered and was surprised to see Richard as their eyes met.”Um, Good afternoon sir, you sent for me”. She said nervously avoiding Richard’s gaze.
“Yeah, I want you to…”. He pauses pretending to be looking for something.” Um, you know what, give me a minute, I think I left the document in my car, I will go and get them” ” He stood up to leave, and Nina stopped him.
“Let me go, sir, I will get it for you”.
” I don’t think so, you might not know where it is”. He said.”Wait here, I will be back”. He walks away.
Nina was dying of nervousness as she was fidgeting with her finger.
“How have you been?”. Richard asked.
” Fine”.She gulped.
“Nina”. He called and stood up to stand behind her.” You wanna tell me what’s wrong?”.
“Oh no, he is so close to me, what do I do”. She said to herself and sent a text to Aurora for a rescue
” Nina, why are you not looking at me?”. He asked.
“Um, am sorry Mr.Richard “. She turned to him with her head bowed to the ground.
” Mr.Richard?”.He scoffs.”Why are you avoiding me? Did I do something wrong?”.
“N–no you didn’t, I was busy with work and–“. She paused her words as she felt Richard’s hand on her chin, she gulped nervously.
” You are not telling me the truth, something is definitely wrong and you don’t want to tell me about it”. He said as he pulled closer to her closing the gap between them.
They became lost in each other eyes, Richard stared down at her lips and he got intoxicated to kiss her. Meanwhile, Aurora was still busy in the printer room when Alex sneaked in and locked the door behind him. He slowly moved to hug her tight from behind which made Aurora to flinch in fear.

“Alex”. She said.
” Did I scare you?”. He smiles and kisses her cheek.
“What are you doing here?”.
” Well, I miss you and I came to see you”. he said and turned her face to his still holding her waist.
“You know I am busy right now”. She said and then her phone beeped with an incoming message. ” Excuse me”. She picks up the phone and glances through the message.
💬” SOS in your office”.
“Nina sent you that right?”. He asked.
” Yeah, I guess she needs my help”.
“You can’t go”. Alex said.
” Why?”.
“Do you know Nina has been avoiding Richard?”. He asked and Aurora became quiet.” You do”.
“No”.
” You are lying, I know she told you everything, you wanna tell me what’s going on?”.
“I should head back to the office now”. She wiggled out of his arms and rushed out with the files
Back to Nina and Richard in the office, both could feel their heart beating fast. Richard leaned closer to her and their face were an inch apart.
“Oh my gosh, I think I am going to have my first kiss, hope this is not a dream”. She said to herself and closed her eyes.
Richard brought his lips closer with his eyes closed, he was about to press his lips on hers when the telephone rang making them to disengage themselves and then Aurora entered her office, Nina saw her and rushed out from Alex’s house to meet her.
” Are you ok?”.Aurora asked seeing the tension in her eyes.
“Yes”. She said and then Alex entered.
” Am sorry for keeping you waiting, I just remembered I left it at home”.Alex said.
“Is ok sir, I will take my leave now”.She rushed out.
” You still owe me an explanation”. He said to Aurora and left for his office. Aurora sighed and sat down.

Later in the canteen, Nina was eating her meal smiling to himself.
“Alex is urging me to tell him”. Aurora said jolting her out of her reverie.
” About what?”.
“About why you are avoiding Richard”. She said and Nina sighed.” Should I tell him?”.
“No, no, you can’t, if you tell him, he will inform Richard about it”.
” What should I tell him then?”.
“Anything”. She said and Aurora sighed. Then her cell phone beeps with an incoming message, she glances through it and gasps.
” What?”.Aurora asked.
“I just got a text message from my mom, that my Dad was rushed to the hospital, I think I will be going home tomorrow”.
” Oh my, is he okay?”.
“I don’t know, I hope nothing happened to him”.
” Nothing will happen to him, just relax”.

Some hours later, Nina came to Alex’s office.
“Sir”. She called and Alex raised his face to her.
” Yes Nina”.
“I want to take a leave, I just got a call from my mom that my Dad was rushed to the hospital”. she said soberly.
” Oh, is he ok?”. He asked feeling concerned.
“I don’t know sir”.
” Is ok, you can go”.
“Thank you, sir, but I think I will stay longer”.
” Is ok”.
“Thank you, sir”.
” You are welcome, you can close for the day, to prepare for your trip”.
“Thank you, sir”. She left to meet Aurora in her office.” I guess I will be closing for the day”.
“Sure, I will stop by your place later”.
” Sure”.They hugged each other and she left.
💬”Come to my office”.Alex texted.
She stood up and left for his office and noticed he wasn’t in his seat.
“Alex”. She called and then she felt his arms around her waist from behind.
” Looking for me?”. He kissed her cheek.”Where were we?”. He turns her to himself before Aurora can say anything, he captures her lips as he caresses her face and deepens the kiss.

••Nina’s apartment••
Later in the day, the time was past seven pm, she was arranging her clothes on the luggage and at the same time talking to her mother on the phone, then there was a knock on the door.
📞”Mom, I will call you back, I guess Aurora is here”. She hung up and then stood up for the living room to open the door. “Why are you not–” she pauses as she opens the door to see Richard standing in front of her doorstep.” Richard?”. she called surprisedly.

“Hey, Nina, um, were you expecting someone else?”.
” Um, no, I mean yes, I thought it was Aurora, she never rings the bell before coming in, but anyway, come in”. She sputtered. Richard entered and she shut the door behind them.”Please sit”.
“Don’t worry about that, am fine”.
“OK, can I get you something to drink?”.She asked nervously.
” No, am fine, I came because Alex said you would be leaving for your own town tomorrow because your dad wasn’t feeling fine”.
“Um, yeah”.
” Am sorry about that”.
“Is OK, thanks for your concerns”.
” You are always welcome Nina”. He stared lovingly into her eyes and Nina became uncomfortable with the way he was looking at her.
“Um, excuse me for a minute, I will be right back”. She sputtered and turned to leave, but she accidentally missed her step and was about to fall down, Richard was quick enough to grab her hand and pull her into his arms.
” Are you ok?”.He asked curiously and Nina gulped nervously.
“Yeah, I guess so”. She gulped and Richard caressed her face as their eyes interlocked.
He pulled her closer with his hand encircling her waist as he stared down at her sexy pink lips and he became intoxicated to kiss her, although he missed the chance at the company earlier and wished not to miss this chance. Nina on the other hand couldn’t believe what was happening as she could feel her heart beating too fast, just then he felt his soft lips on hers and she wide-eyed in surprise as it lasted for a second and he pulled away from her slowly to stare at her eyes.
” I don’t think I can hold it anymore”. He said as the zeal to claim her soft lips ignited him.
he drew her toward himself with his eyes, and she inclined her face toward him and lay his mouth on her mouth, which was like a freshly split-open fig. For a long time, he kissed Nina passionately as he lifted her up to the dining table caressing and kissing her intensely, Nina responded as she combed her fingers into the hair at the nape of his neck.
Meanwhile, Aurora was coming to Nina’s house.
“I guess, she must be waiting for me, am so late because of Alex”. She smiled to herself as she recalled what happened between them at the office”. He is cute though”. She blushed. She gets to Nina’s doorstep to ring the bell when she hears a sound coming quietly from the inside.” What’s that noise?”.She wonders and then moves to the window to take a beep, she gasps to see the romantic moment between Richard and Nina. “What!!!! Richard and N—Nina?”. She sputtered as she blinked her eyes severally to see if they were deceiving her or not. she looks again and jumps up in excitement. ” Yes!!!!”. She walks away happily to give them privacy.
After intensive kissing between the two of them, they pulled away from each other slowly to catch their breath, their eyes still glued to each other.
