Aurora and her grandmother were seated in the living having a chat about what happened earlier.
“Granny, I told you not to worry about it”.
” But I don’t want trouble, do as she had said”.
“I can’t do that, I promise Alex that I will stick with him during this trial time”.
” But his mother does not want you to”.
“Granny, I know”.
” Aurora, you know you are the only grandchild that I have, I don’t want anything to happen to you”.
“I will be careful Granny, I promise you that”. They smiled at each other and she hugged her, then her cell phone rang, they pulled away from each other and picked up the call knowing who the caller was.” Hello Nina”.
“Aurora, are you free for a hangout “. She asked sadly on the phone.
” What happened?”.
“Meet me at the local bar, I will send you the address”. She hung up and Aurora sighed.
” Granny, I will be out for a while, if I don’t come back by ten pm, just be aware I will spend the night at Nina’s house”.
“Okay, be careful”.
She rushed inside to get changed and then came out as she bid her grandmother goodbye. An hour later she arrived at the venue to see Nina sitting alone drinking and looking sober
” What happened to you?”Aurora asked as she sat down facing each other.
“He cheated on me”. She said sadly as she took another gulped.
” Who? What are you talking about?”.
“I am talking about my prince charming”. She snapped.
” You mean Mr. Richard?”. She asked and Nina nodded.”How? Did you approach him and you caught him cheating”.
“No, I didn’t approach him, earlier today, I went to the mall to get something, and that’s when I saw him with another woman holding hands and they were smiling happily like a couple”. She whines.
” Just because you saw him with another woman holding hands and you assume he is cheating”. Aurora said and she nodded.”You are such a drama queen”. she sighed tiredly at her and ordered the same drink Nina was having.
“But it hurt!”.
” Why are you hurt? He is not your boyfriend, so you shouldn’t get hurt”. She teases and Nina frowns at her.
“You know you are not helping matters at all”.
” I was only stating the fact”.
“I don’t want to see him with another woman”. She whined
” Then tell him how you feel”She sips from her drink.
“I can’t, what if he rejected me?”.
” Then you moved on and found another prince charming”.
“I don’t want another prince charming, I want just him”.
” Don’t worry, he will be yours, keep pushing hard”.
They sighed tiredly.
“So, how is it going between you and Alex?”.
” Well, nothing new, just hoping everything will be fine soon”.She said.
“You think so? He might marry her, what are you going to do after that?”.
” Nothing Nina, Destiny has its ways of doing things, I can’t force him to do what he doesn’t want, his mother wants the best for him”.
“But he loves you and I know you are hurt by all these”.
” I know”. She laughs.”love hurts sometimes, I promise him I will stick with him, so, whatever happens after that, I will take it “. She gulped her drink.
” This is not fair”. Nina said sadly.
“All is fair in love and war, we just need to face it”.
” Why can’t we just be happy”.She said and Aurora laughed.
Meanwhile, Alex was trying to connect to Aurora’s number but it wasn’t going through.
“Why is her phone not connecting “. he worried.” Is she sleeping already?”. he sighed and continued trying her number.
Back at the bar, Aurora and Nina were already drunk as they continued chatting.
“I think getting drunk is the best way to reduce distress and forget about your problem”. Aurora said.
” Yeah, you are right”. They laugh drunkenly.
“I feel like going far away and relaxing my head”.
” Me too”.Nina said. “Let’s cheer to our problems”. They cheer and hit their glasses together before they gulp from it. ” Best night ever to forget about heartbreak”.
“Yeah, let’s start heading home is already ten minutes to ten and the bus closes by ten o’clock”. Aurora said and they stood up holding onto each other as they staggered away.
” The night is so young”. Nina laugh.
Soon they arrived at the bus stop but unfortunately for them, the bus had closed.
“Well, we came late, how do we get home? You know a cab is very costly at this time of the night”.
“Let’s walk home”.
” Can you? You are drunk “. Aurora said.
” You are drunk too”. They laughed.
“We are both drunk”.
They laughed drunkenly and started walking staggeringly while murmuring to each other. Just then a car stopped by their side, Richard got out of the car and was shocked to see them.
” Aurora? What are you doing out here?”. He asked and they turned to him.
“Oh, is him”. Nina said and then whispered into Aurora’s eye.” Is my prince charming”. They look at each other and laugh.
“What are you girls whispering about?”.
” Nothing”. They said simultaneously and gulped.
“Why do you girls get drunk like this?”.
” We didn’t get drunk, we were just easing our pain”..Aurora said.
“Yeah, that’s true “.
” You girls get into the car, is too dangerous to be out here alone, “He said and led them inside the car. Then he made a phone call to Alex, it rang for a while before he picked up”Alex meet me at the bus station right now near the train station “. He said and there was a pause.” Yes, there is a problem, I just saw Aurora and her colleagues from work heavily drunk and they were walking all alone on the lonely road at this time of the night”. There was a pause.”Yes, I am with them right now”. He hung up and stared at them in the car resting their heads against each other sleeping.”What a wasted soul”.
Some minutes later, Alex arrived in his car and rushed to meet Richard where he was standing.
“How is she? Is she okay?” Alex panicked.
“Yes”. he opened the car for him to see them sleeping.
” I was worried why her number wasn’t going through”.
“Will you two be quiet, you guys are too loud”. Nina said half asleep and they stared confusedly at her.
” They are both wasted”. Richard said.
Alex moved to the other side and helped Aurora out of the car, he carried her in his arms to his car and lay her gently on the backseat.
“Thanks, Man, I will take my leave now”. Alex said.
” Why? What about the other lady?”. Richard asked.
“I don’t know, she is yours to keep”.
” Are you serious right now, I don’t even know where she lives”.
“You can ask her”.
” Are you teasing me right now? How can I ask a drunk woman where she lives, can’t you see how wasted she looks”. He frowns and Alex scoffs.
“She is your responsibility now, just take care of her, bye”. He rushed to his car and zoomed off before Richard could say anything.
” Damn you Alex!”. He sighed and glanced at her for a moment before he entered his car and locked the doors. “She is sound asleep, how do I know where she lives”. he sighed and then Zoomed off.

He brought her home and laid her down gently on the bed, he covered her with the blanket and quickly, Aurora grabbed his hand resting her head on it.
” Don’t leave me, Alex!”. She murmured in her sleep and Alex started caressing her hair.
“Am not leaving you Aurora, I am here”.
” Don’t let go of my hand, I promise to always be by your side even though we can’t be together, I won’t let go of your hand, and I will support whatever decision you make”. She murmured and tears gathered in Alex’s eyes.
“Am sorry for making you go through all this, I wish I could change what happened”.
” Please don’t let go of my hand, I just want you holding on tight to mine, I felt safe in it “. tears crawl out from her eyes and Alex cleans them off with her thumb.
” Aurora”. He caressed her face and Aurora opened her eyes weakly to meet his.
“Alex”.She felt his hand on her face. ” You are here?”.
“Yes, Aurora I am here”. He said and she smiled at him.
“Am I dreaming?”. She said and Alex was caught off guard as she kissed him quickly.
Her lips moved on his slowly while Alex was still at her sudden action and he broke the kiss quickly.
” Aurora, you are drunk “.
” Am I?”. She laughs drunkenly.
“Yes, and I don’t want to take advantage of you”.
Aurora fell back to the bed and started making a baby face.
” You don’t want me, why?”. She sobs like a baby.
“Aurora, no, please don’t cry, we can’t do it in your drunk state”. he sputtered nervously.
” Then when can we do it?”.
“W-w-when we are b-b-both ready and not drunk”. He said nervously and Aurora smiled as she closed her eyes.
” I want you to be my first”. She murmured and drifted to sleep, Alex sighed and then covered her with the blanket as he kissed her forehead and slept next to her.
