Vincenzo stormed into his home, his emotions boiling over, his face held nothing but anger. Just as he entered, he unexpectedly encountered Kelly, who seemed to be on her way some where.
The tense atmosphere was palpable, and the sight of his furious expression scared her to the bones, causing her to retreat backwardly into the safety of the mansion, trying to avoid any potential confrontation since the look on his face wasn’t bearable and she had never seen him in such an appearance.
However, Kelly couldn’t let the situation go without understanding why Vincenzo was so furious. She mustered up the courage to ask him what the problem was, hoping for some explanation.
“What’s wrong, Enzo? Why the look on your face?”
But before she could receive any clarity, Vincenzo grabbed her wrist firmly, his voice harsh as he accused her of being a liar. “You… Liar! I knew I shouldn’t trust your words a bit, every thing you say all turns out to be lies. I wish I had seen it from the start, I wouldn’t have brought you to my home.”
His unexpected accusation left her stunned and confused. Determined to defend herself and seek understanding, Kelly asked Vincenzo why he labeled her as a liar.
“Why are you calling me a liar, Enzo? What wrong have I done?”
“Shut the fuck up, Kelly and don’t try to act like you don’t know what I am talking about. But since you want me to elaborate it for you, I will. Why the fuck did you bruised Freya’s face?”
Kelly looked away from his gaze, staring at some thing but not his face. “I need a goddamn answer, Kelly!” He stormed. “Why did you do that to her?”
“Because I had to! You give all your attention to him and forget I’m ever existing.”
“You made me believe that fact, because if you were better than you are, I would have no reason to have fallen in love with her. But when I realized that every thing about your life is all lies, I found a thousand reasons to leave. Look, I hate liars, Kelly and you of all people should have known that.”
“So, you really do want to leave me for that bitch.”
He grabbed her neck. “Don’t you ever call her that before me or I have you screaming for your life.” He tossed her to the ground. Not sparing her a glance, he said to her. “You have just twenty minutes to pack your bags and leave.”
“Enzo, please don’t do this to me.” She pleaded but he paid deaf ears to her. “Enzo, don’t walk me out because of her. You know how much I love you.”
“I don’t want to return home and see you still here, Kelly. You won’t like what I will do to you.” He walked out of the building to bring Freya home.
Kelly sat on the floor, weeping her eyes out with no one to console her. She had no place to go, no place to call her home. The one she used to take was taken from her, she had no place else…
Maybe Carol’s home wasn’t bad after all.
It was an exciting thing to the maids that she was finally leaving the mansion. The long gone peace of mind would suddenly be restored once again.
She stood up from the ground, heading to her room to start packing and to avoid further disgrace. She took her bags with her, hearing the mocking words and laughter of the maids made her heart ache.
She ignored them and left the building for Carol’s home. Luckily, her friends were at home. Upon seeing her, they were shocked and surprised to see her. They looked at her, speechless.
“Kelly, what happened?” Carol asked, rushing to her.
“He walked me out because of her.” She cried. “He doesn’t want me because of her.” She buried herself in Carol’s arms, crying.
Carol turns her gaze to Danielle who only heaved, taking Kelly’s stuff up to an empty room.
“You don’t have to worry, Kel. Vincenzo walked you out of his home, we didn’t walk you out. You’ve got us, okay?”
“Carol, you know how much I loved him and I still do. Why? Why will he choose her over me? Ain’t I beautiful? Ain’t I worthy?”
“Of course, you are beautiful and worthy, Kelly.” She tapped her back like a mother taps her child. “But some times, we live to get the most heartbreaking moment. Nevertheless, we all ought to be ready for it. Not every day is a happy day.”
“How am I going to cope with all this?” She asked. “How will I bear the pain to watch the man I love share the same bed with another woman? How will I move on when my heart still belongs to some one else? How, Carol? How am I to fall in love with another when I’ve got Enzo?”
“I understand how you feel, Kelly. I really do more than any one else. But honestly, you need to let go. You need to try harder to forget about him. Besides, there are a lot more men out there, rich men for that matter.
People who are two times better than Vincenzo. People who will cherish no one else but you alone. Fighting to have Enzo back doesn’t make any sense at all, it only shows how stupid and childish you are.”
“What am I to do?” She asked in a shaky voice.
“Let go of him.” Danielle spoke from a corner. “If only you had listened to me at the initial time and left that house when I told you to, Vincenzo would have no reason to disgrace you in such a manner. Now you have realized your level in his life, it’s time you let go of him in your mind and face the future. Your future.”
“I agree with Dani on this. Let go of Enzo, forget he ever existed in your life and move on with your life. I know it’s gonna be difficult, but then you have to. You really have to try.”
“Why didn’t I listen all these while? Danielle has always been right, but… but I took all she said for granted. I took her as the bad friend, I saw all she said as envy, so I didn’t want to listen to her. But now… I have seen I own no place in his heart. I really have to let go. I have to try.”
Danielle smiled, seeing that she has realized her mistakes and has come to understand that giving up has never been an option, but a necessity to some facts that needs to be let go of.
