The charged scream made the Odds outside the kitchen rush inside to witness the madness.
Seeing what’s going on, they didn’t bother to step in. They hung around the kitchen and watched silently, some with slow satisfactory smiles on their faces as the beating increased.
By now, every bitch in the kitchen got a taste of the belts already, but Allison and Saint look like they’re only just beginning.
The Odds blocked the door, so the escorts can’t even run out.
They could only run around, scream and cuss and cry. Some of them climbed the wide kitchen island, and Saint climbed with them, beating them back to the floor.
As they’re landing, Allison took over, continuing the strikes.
They let out a conjoined cry again, two of them began rolling on the floor. Saint kicked them off.
Acosta was the last to enter the kitchen from outside. Allison’s drip nearly fell from him when he saw the ongoing craziness.
The whole kitchen is scattered. Pans and pots and cutleries lay around, and the cooker burned.
“Allis!!” Acosta shouted. “Saint!!”
And that was when Yalda and Jude entered, then Tobias too.
He entered last from the lift.
Odds stepped aside completely for his entrance, and he immediately looked spooked by the disorganized place.
Allison walked fast to him, and she pointed the belt metal at his face.
Acosta’s eyes widened.
“You!” Allison panted tiredly, eyes glaring at Tobias. “Losing your memories can be forgiven cos you fell off the cliff cos of Phina anyways, but seeing her as Kelly? Bullshit! Bringing in escorts? What the f+k is wrong with you? She suffered alone for months only to get this?!”
Tobias’s hand wrapped around her belt, and before she knew it, he pulled the belt out of her grasp.
He raised it on her, aiming for the tummy, but Acosta quickly stepped in and covered her, so he took the belt landing on his back instead.
“Tobias?” Allison gasped. “You were gonna whip me? You were gonna—”
Tobias raised the belt two more times, but Acosta stayed as Allison’s covering, receiving the hits again.
His back bled.
“What the f+k?!” Allison shouted, shock doubling.
“You came in here, stepped in the kitchen and began beating up the people I invited by myself? This is my fuckin house!!” Tobias raged, veins running deep into his blood.
“It’s your house but also Phina’s!” Allison argued protectively. “She can’t be madly in love with you like this and end up getting broken over and over again! She has been through enough, please! Can your memories just return already?”
She went on her knees suddenly, and everyone gasped.
Tobias shifted back with curved questioning brows.
“She’s your girlfriend’s best friend, Allison Hart.” Yalda whispered
“You once told us to be good to her too. You even once made a deal with her to trick the Redd family.” Jude added in another whisper.
Allison looked up from her knees.
“Please. Can you at least try? We lot can’t be lying to you, right? She’s not Kelly, she’s not that rotten bitch, she’s your girlfriend, the same girl you organized a one-in-the-world auction for.”
“Toby,” Saint came closer too. “You know I’ve never lied to you, have I?” He said. “You have to get that memory back, and stop f+kin with escorts!” His voice raised. “You have a girlfriend, stop f+kin!”
Tobias turned around and left the kitchen like he didn’t even hear them.
“Tobias!” Allison stood.
“Toby!” Saint shouted and made to follow him, but Yalda blocked him.
“Why the hell would you allow him to bring escorts in?!” Saint queried.
“He might be without his memories for now, but he’s still our First Man, and we’re bound to follow his rules. I wouldn’t say no to his face when he said he wanted escorts.” Yalda said.
“Why the f+k would he need escorts?” Allison shouted.
“Rest assured, he didn’t do anything with them.” Jude said.
“Really?” Allison and Saint echoed.
“He ordered Yalda to bring them in cos he needed more people in the house. He said his head was too quiet, and he needed the noise.” Jude explained.
“F+k!” Allison inhaled in relief, but that single inhale refused to come out as exhale immediately.
It got stuck inside her, and she lost her breaths as if someone pulled at her chest from the inside.
She went down limply, and Acosta quickly caught her.
“I told you, silly. I told you!” He scolded as he hoisted her into his arms, carrying her out with a run.
“Show him the footage of this house from six, seven, eight months ago. Show him everything he did with her.” Saint told Jude.
“We’re already working on that,” Yalda replied.
“Good, I’ll be waiting for good news.” Saint nodded and left too.
Getting outside, he met Acosta getting in his car with Allison’s limp body.
No Seraphina anywhere.
Even her car is gone.
“Where’s she?” Saint asked.
“She probably left after we went in.” Acosta responded.
“Left? Drove herself? She’s drunk, Acosta!” Saint gasped.
“And that’s why we have to rush and go after her.” Acosta said.
Saint hopped in the car, and he’s the one who drove them off.
—
[Inside the Oddsion]
Tobias returned to his room, unable to keep himself in a place or keep his mind at rest. He was having a mind battle before, but now it’s a full-blown war inside his head.
He wanted noise, so he hired escorts last night, but now he doesn’t want it anymore. The noise in his head is clawing at his chest too.
He feels sick, and he hates it.
He popped to the whiskey bottle on his bedstand, took it and drank directly from it.
He organized auction for her?
He lowered the bottle and stared into space till he could only see one of the art frames on the wall.
Then, his brain stung…
“9.9 Billion! I didn’t make it ten cos I’m the only one for Seraphina.”
The statement rang in his skull, and he grabbed his head.
The whiskey bottle slipped away from his other hand, crashing on the floor loudly.
“Damn!” He clenched his jaws, grunting again.
He slightly went down, and even his eyes hurts, but slowly, the ache disappeared and became dull.
“9.9 Billion?” He muttered.
“That was what Vince bid at the action you organized for Seraphina.” Yalda said, coming in.
Tobias straightened.
“Vince bid 9.9?” He scoffed. “I guess I underestimated that bastard.”
“You said this same thing back then too, that you underestimated him.” Yalda sighed, pointing a flashdrive at him. “Here, the handlers tried to gather Seraphina’s time in this place, you should watch.” She said.
Tobias took the drive, and Yalda left the room, leaving him to stare at the drive for so many minutes before he inserted it in his system.
He sat on the bed edge and pressed play slowly.
It started from when he carried her in his arms from the private jet to this place and set her down in this bed, how he changed her clothes to an oversized pyjamas and lay her to sleep. When he made her breakfast in bed and she rejected.
When Grimm was taking her around the house.
When he promised to swim with her and fucked her in the pool hall against the wall…
“F+k…” He stood, taking the laptop with him. His eyes are wide as he watched the rated video.
He dropped the laptop and dipped his fingers in his hair.
“I dated? Me?” He shook his head, scoffing again. “This feels illegal….”
Then, he got a wall notification.
DEAN IS HERE.
He shut down the laptop and left the room, meeting Dean at the first floor where he waited in the middle of Yalda and Jude.
“I should have forgotten you along with the memories I lost…” Tobias remarked, but Dean didn’t reply.
He simply walked up to him and lifted a blow to his face.
Tobias caught the blow before it could hit his face though.
He brought the hand down and pushed Dean back.
“Where do you think this is?” He smirked disgustedly. “Your amusement park where you get to slap tags on carousels? Do I look like a f+king carousel?”
“You poisoned me! You definitely did something to me!!” Dead yelled at his face. “I’ve been visiting my doctor for weeks now. I’m infertile, Tobias. You sent me a bicycle and a note during my wedding with Kelly, and you mocked me that I might not be able to birth. When you came to the Precinct, you told me to focus on my sperm! What did you do to me?
Tobias laughed sickly, satisfactorily. His hands went into his pockets.
“Finally you figured it all out. Damn, you have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for this moment and the look on your face, and needles to say…I love this look of helplessness.”
“What did you fuckin do to me!!” Dean yelled like a frustrated child.
“After you took Kelly and I slashed you and you both didn’t die, I made another plan to increase your pains, so i hung her demented mother under the city bridge. And you? You’ve been obsessed with having your own kids since we were young. How else would I punish you?” Tobias narrated with another laugh.
“What?!” Dean’s eyes widened.
“I paid your hostel janitor to poison your tea, and you drank three cups that day. The poison was in all the three cups. Unless you climb up to heaven and have a one-on-one meeting with God, you’ll never be able to impregnate a woman.”
“No….” Dean shook his head vehemently. “No you wouldn’t do that to me!” He shouted shakily. “You wouldn’t do that to me!!”
“Says who?” Tobias blinked innocently. “Says you, a twin who has always choose to be my enemy?”
“I did nothing to deserve poisoning from you!!” Dean roared.
“You didn’t only steal that bicycle, Dean.” Tobias spat. “You stole my Christmas shoes, thrice. You stole the Christmas cap too, though I didn’t like the Stupid caps and wasn’t planning to wear them, but you still stole them! You threw my textbooks in the school pool so many times…
“You once mixed pepper with my body lotion and had me down with red stinging skin for weeks. During new year when we were six and grandparents came to visit. They came with the tiramisu cake. You didn’t like the cake, but I did, and because of that, you urinated on the cake and called it a mistake!
“After our parents death at age 10. Saint was defending me and trying to talk to you, but you slapped him twice, m+therf+ker. How dare you even lay your hands on Saint!? Huh? How dare you? You thought I forgot?”
“We were 12 years old when you connived with Vince. Vince captured a snake in a jar for you, and you released it under my bed. I got stung on the ankle, and Uncle Will is the only reason I didn’t die from snakebite cos he had an antidote in hand! And you said you did nothing?”
“You did nothing to deserve childlessness? Huh? Say that to my fuckin face again!!!” Tobias punched Dean in the face, and Dean fell back.
The Odds just watched silently as Dean landed on the floor.
“All because of your stupid mentality that dull people don’t deserve sweet good things, a mentality you got from Vince in school and started tormenting me with it! Should I continue?” Tobias kicked Dean in the face, and Dean groaned.
“You’re the brilliant one, and of course you should be able to establish yourself easily, but you had to steal my Empire immediately I went to seminary cos you believed I didn’t deserve it! You even sold the empire to your Vince, and I had to start fighting you to take it back. What did I ever do to you? Nothing! I simply existed as your dull twin, and you hate that fact!”
Dean stood, tears streaming out of his eyes already.
“And you know the funniest part?” Tobias laughed. “The Vince who planted the mentality of dull people don’t deserve sweet things in you, he’s dull as f+k too. You wrote most of his exams for him despite the fact that he was three classes ahead of you! Yet, he directed you to hate me, and you listened because you’re a fool, an idiot, a stupid bitch!”
“Enough!!!!” Dean yelled in tears, veins decorating his forehead.
“I’ve not even started!!!” Tobias yelled back, voice breaking. “I became a cultist and formed a brotherhood not because I needed a crime family, but because I needed people around me. I’ve never loved being alone even as a kid, but I pretended to love it and played all day at the graveyard. I wanted to play with other kids too and share my toys with them, but no one was willing cos you poisoned their minds, so they avoided me.”
“Spiders and butterflies and snakes were my only friends, and I hate being alone like shit! Yeah, I’m admitting it to your face that I’ve always hated the idea of alone! So I formed my brotherhood, and they’ve been with me except the few unfortunate ones who died for betraying me. I’m fine now, Dean. I’m fuckin fine, and in the future if I want it, I’ll have kids and will listen to the sound of my babies crying for me to carry them, and I’ll smile while feeding them on my laps, but guess who’ll die alone? You, Dean. You!”
“We’re twin brothers, Tobias…” Dean let out more tears. “How could you…”
“Throw him out.” Tobias ordered, colder than avalanche.
Odds didn’t even wait for the orders to get slack. They grabbed Dean by both sides of his arms.
“Leave me the f+k!” He struggled.
“Leave me alone!!!!”
“Tobias! Tobias!!!”
His cries faded outside as the door was closed after him.
“Vince didn’t die in the river six months ago, Wrath.” Yalda said. “The divers searched for his body after they found you. He wasn’t found, meaning, someone saved him, and knowing his persistent personality, he’s definitely coming for us. We’ve been preparing weapons for you, and for us.” She smiled.
“Where are they?” Tobias asked.
He was immediately led to the room next to the lift where a line of weapons lay on a really long table.
Guns. Long and short knives. Hand explosives. Machetes.
But as usual, he’s only interested in the guns, so he picked them one by one, trying them out.
The first gun is medium sized, slightly heavy but with a sharp sound when he shot at the wall.
Second one is light, but the sound isn’t ear-piercing enough.
Third one doesn’t only shoot bullets, there’s a space for explosives too.
A two in one.
Fourth one is a familiar gun, and immediately he picked it up, his palm recognized the feel.
“Mayhem?” He faced them.
“Knew you’d recognize it,” Yalda grinned. “I and the weaponeer made a little upgrade to it. Now, it’s lighter with more bullet spaces. Also…you should pull the trigger.”
“Ok?” Tobias faced the wall, cocking the gun and pulling the trigger.
He released the bullet, and it flew to the wall, ramming inside like a normal gun bullet.
“What’s the special feature?” He asked, disappointed.
His disappointment became amazement when the wall cracked and broke with a large hole after three seconds, sending bricks across the floors and other walls.
“Damn!” Tobias laughed, lifting the gun again. “I mean….yeah.”
Yalda laughed. “I knew you’d like it.”
“Of course,” Tobias stroked her hair.
“How old is Yalda?” Estelle whispered beside Jude.
“She’s twenty.” Jude sighed.
“What!” Estelle gasped. “I’m older than her with three years?”
“Yalda is the youngest here, but also one of the most brilliant, and obviously Firstie’s fav. Don’t try to disrespect her cos of her age, Estelle.” Jude muttered.
“I wouldn’t try that!” Estelle shook her head. “I’m just shocked that she’s that young but she looks so mature, and she acts mature and cool too.”
Jude smiled.
“Do you like her? Romantically?” Estelle suddenly asked.
“The f+k are you saying?” Jude faced her. “She’s lesbian!”
“Oh…” Estelle awkwardly nodded. “I totally forgot that.”
Jude rolled eyes and looked away.
Estelle looked at him and looked away too.
“By the way, Black Rose Capitals and Wrath Investments Empire are hot in the business market right now. You’d be shocked with the amount of work we put in to make sure we stay on top, especially Jude and Estelle and Zaine and….in fact, everybody else here.” Yalda reported.
Tobias looked around and nodded at everyone of them.
“Even if I die today, I know I died good.” He said.
“Out of point, but now I know why you insisted that we should all move into this Oddsion with you. Your Fear of Abandonment will never be triggered again.” Jude said.
“Even when he was in school, we all stayed together in his off-campus hostel apartment.” Zaine said.
“We’re going nowhere, at least not till we witness you getting married and having bundles of children.” An Odd said genuinely.
“Is this the part where I get emotional and start crying?” Tobias said, and most of them bursted into laughter.
“We were just saying!”
“We never wanna see your tears, Wrath. Never.”
“It’s always and forever, this brotherhood of Odds.”
“We wouldn’t possibly leave our father. Even your future kids will be the second born, we’ll be your first children, always.”
Tobias smiled without planning to, carefully hanging the upgraded Mayhem on his shoulder.
“Y’all will get increment of pay per mission from now on.” He said.
The shouts that took over the room afterwards was deafening.
Each of them picked their favorite weapons from the table and began shooting at the wall with it.
A shooting of thanks.
Tobias stood behind them with his arms crossed, watching them, and at the same time thinking of how to drag Vince out of wherever he is.
He’s going to kill Vince in this Oddsion and bury him at the main entrance so he can step on him every fuckin day.
For Vince to be bold enough to step this Oddsion again, there has to be a party. A party has to happen here.
“By the way, Firstie.” Jude came to him. “The building you ordered to be built on heart of NYC land is complete.” He informed.
“The building I ordered?” Tobias faced him.
“You ordered us to build a lady-care company on that land cos Redd family loved the land so much, and you wanted to make them mad about it, so we built it. You even told us to name it THE LADIES OF SERA.
“I must be insane,” Tobias muttered. “Really insane.”
“Also,” Zaine appeared. “Perez the betrayer is still at the slaughterhouse. We’re awaiting your orders on what to do to him.”
“Perez?” Tobias blinked, and he immediately got a head sting.
His hands flew to his head, grabbing it as got a hurting flashback of Perez shooting Zaine and joining the Serpents to take Seraphina and Saint away from this same Oddsion.
“The one who connived with Serpents?” He asked.
“You remember that?” Yalda appeared, looking surprised.
“I need my whole memories back, as soon as possible.” Tobias gritted.
“I might have an idea.” Jude said.

[Hospital – Two Days Later]
Allison’s health had deteriorated as a result of her leaving the hospital to days ago. Now, she’s back to laying down and not advised to tilt up till she’s fully stable to move.
She lay in bed, looking sick with Acosta and Peach at each side of her.
Peach held her right hand, looking at her worriedly.
“I’ll be fine, princess…it’s only a matter of time.” She promised.
Peach said nothing.
Even Acosta said nothing.
“Wait, you’re still mad at me?” Allison frowned slightly.
“You shouldn’t have left the hospital like that, I warned you!” He scolded.
“Come on,” she sighed. “It’s Phina, of course I got worried. You know how I’ve always been about her. There’s this overprotective instinct anytime it’s about her.”
“But you have to start considering yourself too, Allison. Please.” He sat beside her gently.
“I promise, I’ll tone it down…” She sighed. “So can you smile now?”
She raised her hand to pull his beard playfully.
“Come onnn….. Ebonyheart.”
Acosta smiled immediately.
“You’ve so fucking impossible…” He took her hand away from his beard, and she chuckled.
“Do you love my dad?” Peach asked from the other side suddenly.
“Peach…” Acosta cautioned.
“Yes!” Allison snapped. “Does it not show?” She blinked at Peach. “I love your pops, especially his features like the beard, the tattos, and the eyes ..”
Acosta’s mouth opened to talk, but he couldn’t even say a thing as shock was still dealing with him.
Peach smiled widely, finally putting her mind at rest.
“Can someone go check on Phina again, please?” Allison said.
“We’ve been doing that since two days ago, Allison. She refused to go to work, leave the house, or even eat anything. She’s mostly crying and spacing out or shaking with cold.” Acosta explained.
“F+k, I’m so worried…” Allison groaned.
“Saint is going to her.” Acosta informed.
“He got discharged?” Allison blinked.
—
[Saint’s Ward]
Saint finally got discharged, and he definitely wants to teleport out of this hospital if he can.
He’s finally free.
He blew the nurse a kiss and was wearing his jacket as he walked out of the ward fast like a cursed room.
But by the door, he walked into someone he knows. He acted like she wasn’t even there as he walked past her, but she came after him.
“Saint!” Her voice followed him.
He quickened his pace.
“Saint!” She pulled his arm, but he pulled it off immediately, facing her.
“What the f+k you want from me?”
“I messed up, ok?” Bexley rushed. “You helped me with my bodily scars, and you even took a bullet for me, then I turned you down when you needed a little help, but…”
“But?” He scoffed.
“But I’ve realized my mistakes and I’m really sorry. I—”
“I have nothing to say to you.” He cut her off and took a step away, but he suddenly stopped and came back.
“Actually, I do have something to say,” he muttered. “I knew you were using me for money. I’m aware that you’re a egoistic bi+ch who can’t love anyone, so I was ready to keep giving you the money so far you came to see me always, I didn’t care, but obviously, I made the wrong choice. You’re so f+kin worse, Bexley. I wonder how a cool lady like Allison got a rotten sister like you.”
“Saint….”
“And you were a Delilah of Valhalla?” He looked her up and down, scoffing. “Just the right name for you cos you indeed are a Delilah, and your nudes is still selling in porn sites…”
Her arms dropped.
“Heard your sister pays your tuition and gives you money weekly, but you still choose that life? That’s crazy, Bexley, and it’s so like you. I’m not disappointed, I’m just thrilled, cos look at you, you’re even too ashamed to go see your sister cos you know she has heard about it.”
He hissed out and continued his journey out of the hall.
Bexley cried harder, hiccuping. “I might be a Delilah once, but I’m still untouched! I’m still a v+rgin! I’m not wayward! I’m not a prostitute!”
Saint turned with a sneer. “You’re a v+rgin? Fine, i’m the President of America, since we’re in a lying competition now.”
“Uber here!” Annika shouted, entering the hall.
“I called your dad, not you!” Saint frowned as he walked to her.
“Yeah, but my dad is not working today, so I’m helping out. Also, you’re going to my boss’s house, so I’m going to go with you.” Annika smiled.
“Tag along then,” Saint shrugged, and they left the hospital together.
“You have bikes, why calling a Uber?” Annika asked.
“As you can see, I’m just leaving the hospital, and I’m not allowed to drive yet. Besides, my bike isn’t even here, so I need this drive to go see SarahNina first, then return home to practice against my race tommorow.” Saint explained.
“You’ll race tommorow?” Annika blinked.
“Yeah, I’m outta the hospital now, doctors have no hold on me.” Saint winked at her, and Annika laughed.
“I’ll come to your race then.”
“Fo’shur.” He shrugged.
They were about to enter the Uber together when Saint felt this gnawing, gripping sensation of being watched. The hair at his nape rose.
He looked back, but nothing.
No one.
“You good?” Annika asked.
“Sure!” He nodded, getting in the car with her eventually.
Drive from there to Seraphina’s mansion was ten minutes roughly.
He entered with Annika, and as expected, they met Seraphina in her bedroom, in bed, looking sick.
“Come onnn!” Saint pulled her arm. “C’mon! Look at those eyes! Are you planning to ruin this beauty before my avatar comes to his senses?”
Annika looked at the bedside, seeing the tray of food they placed there this morning is still untouched.
“You still haven’t eaten?” She gasped.
“But it’s already clear that Toby didn’t sleep with the escorts! He only invited them for their noises! His dick is still yours alone!” Saint said.
“Don’t be so raw!” Annika said.
“Dick is dick, what else should I call it?” Saint rolled eyes.
The next person to enter the room didn’t even knock before entering.
Yalda.
She stood by the doorway with a slanted expression.
“Let’s go back to Church, First Lady.” She muttered.
—
[Uncle Will’s House]
The middle-aged man arrived from work as early as 6pm today.
He now runs a small kiddies restaurant beside an amusement park where he cooks only kids food, and it has been running well.
He removed his face cap as he looked for his keys in his pockets, and when he found it, he took it out together with his phone.
He turned on the phone as he entered the house, reading the news.
Business news says Wrath Investments Empire and Black Rose Capitals are still topping the Investments market now.
The same successful companies owned by the same owner.
Also, Sera’s Crochets is preparing to open her new headquarters, and she’s also preparing for her next auction which would definitely be bigger than the last one.
Genevieve and Marley are still in jail with no hope of trial or parole, and they might be executed soon.
Dora Redd landed back in rehab.
Uncle Will inhaled, smiling at the good news. He stepped in his small living room, and only then did he notice he has a waiting visitor.
Sitting majestically on the couch like he owns the house, is Vince.
Kelly stood beside him, arms folded.
Immediately Uncle Will entered, the third person entered behind him.
He turned around to see Tino, and the man slowly turned back to face Vince, eyes meeting.
“Missed me, Dad?” He smiled.
—
[Savior’s Alive Church]
At 7pm, the door to the church opened, and Seraphina stepped inside, looking a little put together that she was in the house.
At least, her hair is smooth now. Though, it was Yalda who brushed it. Seraphina wouldn’t care less about hair in this situation.
She stopped by the entrance and studied the Church—same building they sinned inside multiple times.
Yalda said they could try out the time she entered this Church to confront him after he ratted her out to Dean at Dean’s Estate, and she agreed.
Anything to get him back.
She walked to the front row and sat there silently, staring weakly at the cross in the middle of the altar.
Two minutes later, she heard the door opening, and her heart lost it’s beat counts immediately.
She counted the minutes with her breathes.
One…
Two…
She rose, turned around and saw him coming inside, wearing the black vestments—his former priesthood signature.
He didn’t stop walking even after seeing her, and she picked up her own walk too, steps fast and calculated, eyes locking on his own, never wavering nor blinking.
The closer they got, the closer the world felt like it’s getting to an end time. The world felt suffocating and this orbit felt like it’s squeezing them inside a hole they can’t escape.
Seraphina hoped for a change with this, and he hoped all of his suspicions would be set free.
He finally walked past her, but she didn’t let go.
She blocked him with her palm ready. It flew up his face and smacked him loudly.
All of her five fingers printed on his cheek with the intensity of the slap.
Tobias eyes changed color instantly like it did back then.
It was deep crimson.
“You don’t deserve to be a Priest. How could you do that to me last night!” Seraphina accused angrily like she said back then,, looking like she’s gonna burst from emotions.
Afterwards, silence hung between them like breeze, and even as his cheek stung, he didn’t stop looking at her, didn’t stop wondering what’s going to happen next.
For three full minutes, nothing happened, and he totally lost it. His hand wrapped around her neck, squeezing hard she lost her momentum and bearings.
“Has it all been a lie you’ve been trying to cook?” He muttered hotly. “Even if you’re cooking lies, how did you manage to drag my Odds into it? Who exactly are you?!”
She didn’t struggle, didn’t even make the slightest gagging sound. She just stayed at his mercy, gasping for breaths with watery eyes.
“Your Ana….thema…” She muttered, making sure the letters are clear enough to hit his ears.
His eyes shifted slightly.
“Initially, I didn’t know why you choose to call me that despite the meaning, but later, I got to know that the nickname wasn’t directed at me in particular, it’s directed at what you feel for me. You hate how much you feel me so much you even hated yourself at a point, Tobias…”
She smiled painfully.
“You saved me from my pains and catastrophe, so even if you decide to take my life, I would never struggle, but I don’t want you to take it. I don’t want to die by your hands, cos you love me, and it’ll hurt. You love me, Tobias, you love me a lot. You love me enough to take a hit for me at the edge of a cliff….”
Tobias’s head rang suddenly, and his eyes shifted sharper and faster than the first one, then they widened.
The cliff….
The cliff….
The cliff….
The fall.
Vince.
The tarmac.
The fight.
The attack at the Oddsion. The kidnap of Seraphina and Saint.
Perez’s betrayal.
Everything realigned backwards to the first day he saw her walking down the aisle with Dean in her wedding gown. The day he began seeing her in his dreams.
That day.
He remembered everything from then till now, and tremble from nowhere invaded his flesh.
His hand fell from Seraphina’s throat, and his fingers began shaking too, eyes turning watery like hers.
His tears fell, and he instantly felt incurably sick from the inside.
“When you confessed to me, you said….” Seraphina sniffled hard. “Because i’ve felt you longer than I’ve allowed myself to admit. Since the day you walked down that aisle beside my brother. I looked at you, then deceived myself to look away like you were nothing but a breeze I thought if I didn’t stare too long, whatever I felt would die.”
She sniffled again before continuing….
“But it didn’t, it rooted itself inside me and poisoned everything. And you know the worst part?”
She sniffled for the third time, and when she opened her mouth to say the last part, he opened up too.
“You are poison, the kind a man drinks only once and spends the rest of his life craving.” They both chorused, and her tears increased, bathing her red neck and chest.
She covered her mouth with her palm, sniffling.
“Sera,” her name left his trembling lips like a delicate chant as his tears streamed down his jaws.
He reached for her face, held it softly like an egg and cradled the cheeks with his thumbs.
“I remember everything now, Sera. Forgive me, baby. I’m so fuckin sorry, Sera. Please,… please… please…”
“Please, baby. Please….”
TBC.
