“What time should I come to your party tomorrow?” Asked Roxanne.
“4 pm, can I come to pick you up?” Asked Leonard.
“Don’t worry tomorrow is your day”. Rejected Roxanne.
“I insist”. Leonard argued.
“Alright” Roxanne said as she alighted from the car walking to their compound which was as silent as graveyard, she opened her room’s door and leaned on the door. Staring at the roof of the room feeling lonely and bittered. She toddled to her wardrobe and to the dressing room to change her clothes and to the kitchen, she was astonished to see the kitchen in hurried.
Their two personal maid and four other chefs pacing up and down inside the kitchen.
“What is happening here”. She asked and one of their personal maid replied
“It’s Sir and madam. They want to invite their friends to sleep over party. So they insisted on many meals”.
“Where’s my food?” She asked unconcerned and one of them gave her shawarma and tasty beef, she walked to the dining room thinking about sleep over party.
She knew what she will do when it’s the time, she hurriedly ate her food and locked her room’s door.
She leaned on the window thinking about how miserable her life was, should there be any coincidence about her brother’s life or hers? She stared at the sky through the window bitterly and closed her eye.
Running away was the last option while commiting suicide was not in the option. When would the circumstances change to better, what if she died in her parents torture and what about Leonard’s advice
There’s time for everything and money is not everything, money without joyful heart and happiness is vain.
The sleep over party is less of her problem but she dare not show her ugly face if she didn’t want multiple embarrassment more than she encountered with her useless family.
She looked down the street and saw some car and motorcycle coming to their compound. She recognized two of the car to be her parent’s own. She recheck her room’s door once again and make it was locked properly before going back to stare at the guest coming in.
There were some young ladies and guys coming in too as they approached the house. She stared for a long time before going to bed. She slumped to the bed and closed her eye lost in thoughts.
After a while, she heard a knock from the door and sat up but ignored the knock. Many knock came in and she frustratedly shouted in annoyed voice.
“Who is there?” She yelled.
“It’s Mary ma, Sir and madam want you in the party”. The maid said.
“Tell them I’m not coming”. Replied Roxanne in anger and the maid muttered okay ma before she left the door.
After some minutes, her parents also knocked she replied without opening the door
“Who is there?” She asked.
“Won’t you come to the party?” Her mother yelled.
“Stop yelling at me mom. I have no interest in that go damn party “. She shouted without opening the door.
“Can you at least open this door “. Her father said calmly.
“I never resisted your voice but this is different. I don’t want to see anyone of you, go and enjoy your sleep over party “. She said.
“I will break this door and I will beat you up “. Threatened Mrs Brown
“Break it now, break it and let me see how heartless you are “. Yelled Roxanne frustratedly and plugged her headphone to avoid any of their irritating words. After many persuasion they left the door to the party.
The following morning, Roxanne woke up when sun glinted through her window. She looked at the wall clock it reached 8: 30 am , she rise and stretched herself up and went to the bathroom. After dressing up she picked her phone and some cash before sneaking out of her room
She peeped through the stairs but saw no one in the sitting room. She tiptoed softly that her step could be hardly heard. She looked at the corner of the pool outside before she sauntered to the dining room.
“Ah no food! At all”. As she was roaming inside the dinning room she caught the glimpse of her parents coming in from the party. She became feeble immediately and hide behind the curtain. They came near and nearer, she eavesdrop and hear them chatting about some domestic businesses and partnership.
It’s non of her business, she sneaked into the kitchen after she remembered there’s a door she could passed to leave the house.
