Claire’s POV
I follow Luca’s car to an abandoned warehouse in a deserted area. The place is just like plain lands, only tall trees and low grass are seen.
I pay the cab driver and alight from the cab. I see Lucas enter the building with three cops. I quickly head towards the warehouse, just then Lucas turn and sees him, his eyes grew wide. He walk towards me and pull me to a corner.
“What are you doing here, Claire?” He asks.
“I’m here to save my son!” I answered.
“But it could be dangerous here, we don’t know if Anita has another scheme. You shouldn’t be here, how did you even get past the police men?”
“They can’t stop me, now let me through” I said.
” No. You can’t go in there. Go back”
I ignore him and head for the door. He runs in front of me and blocks my way.
“If you insist on going in, you have to promise me that you’ll stay behind me. No matter what happens” he said.
I nod and follows him. We stays outside, the police men stays at alert.
“Why aren’t we going inside?” I asked.
“We are waiting for the perfect time” Lucas respond.
I remain silent for the rest of the wait.
Killian’s POV
I enter the warehouse. Anita stand next to a man who’s holding some papers in his hands, he must be her lawyer I guess.
Ryan sits on a small plastic chair, he wanted to run to me when he sees me but Anita stops him.
“I need to see the papers first” she said.
I hand the papers to him. She goes through it and a satisfactory smile spread on her face.
“Good. Now I need you to sign our marriage certificate, Josh have it here with him” she said.
My divorce papers are fake, but the marriage certificate Josh is holding is legit. If I sign them now, we’ll be legally married.
“I’ll sign them, but first release my son to me” I said.
“It’s not done until it’s done. Sign the certificate first…or your son will die in front of you” just as she said that, a guy comes out of nowhere and grabs Ryan.
” Daddy!! Bad man” Ryan cries.
I clenched my jaw and grind my teeth against each other.
I take the certificate from her and angrily tore it apart. She gasp loudly.
Just as I tore it apart, the guy raised his gun and points it at Ryan’s throat. Ryan begins to cry.
I dive forward and push the guy away from Ryan, I put Ryan behind me and stands in front of him, blocking him from the gun.
Another guy comes in and aim his gun at me.
“Anita, stop this right now” I said.
“Killian, I didn’t want to do this, but you pushed me. If I can’t have you, then no one will. Kill them both!!” She ordered her men.
Where the hell is Lucas and the cops. God, I know I don’t pray that much, but please we need your help here. Just like that, I hear a loud voice.
“Drop your weapons and put your hands on your head!!”
Lucas’s POV
From behind the door, I can hear and see everything that’s going on inside. Claire’s shaking besides me, I know she wants to go in do badly.
“How long are we gonna wait here?” She asked.
“Not long” I replied but never taking my gaze from Killian and Anita.
I watch Killian tearing some papers, then push the guy holding a gun to Ryan’s throat.
Then I hear Anita barking orders at her men to kill both Killian and Ryan. That’s when I signal the cops to go in.
They break the door and enters.
“Drop your weapons and put your hands on your head!” One of the officers said.
Claire rushes to Ryan and carries him, tears running down her cheeks. She places kisses all over his face.
“Killian, this wasn’t part of the plan. You were supposed to marry me not this witch” Anita said.
” Anita, I told you. I never saw you that way, I’ll always regard you as my younger sister, that’s all” Killian said.
” Then why did everyone say we made a perfect couple? You are mine Killian!!” She said.
” Anita, we are no longer kids anymore. You need to know that somethings don’t just mix. You need help, Anita” Killian said.
I nod at the cops to take Anita and her acomplise away.
They grab Anita and the two men, together with the lawyer. Putting handcuffs on their hands. And take them away.
I see Killian walk towards Claire and falls on his knees. Claire looks at him in shock, but her expression quickly change to anger.
“What do you want, Mr Knight?” She asks him.
“I’m sorry, please forgive me. I said some harsh words that I didn’t mean, I hurt you with my words. Please forgive me” he pleads.
“There’s nothing to apologise about. But thank you for helping me save my son, we are divorced now. I need to go now and start planning for mine and my kids future” she said and wanted to leave, but Killian grabs her waist and wraps his arms around her.
“How can I divorce my beautiful wife? Those papers aren’t real, I just wanted to put on a good show for Anita”
” Oh, really?” Killian nods his head. “Then why didn’t you tell me about your plans?”
” Cause I wanted to make it real. Anita is a cunny woman, I don’t know how but she always know our every move”
” So…. I have misunderstood you all these while” she states.
” Yes”
Claire stays silent, thinking.
“So, do you forgive me?” Killian asked.
Claire slowly nods her head.
“Yes” she said.
Killian jumps on his feet and sweep Claire off the ground into his arms and puts his lips on her. I quickly rush over to Ryan and covers his eyes, he struggles with me to remove my hand.
“My daddy is bitting momma again, uncle Lucas stop him” Ryan said.
I laugh loudly at his statement, if only he knew what his parents are doing.
Killian and Claire finally breaks their kiss. Killian takes Ryan by the hand.
“Lucas, let’s take my family home!” Killian said.
I smile and lead the way for them.
Claire is such an understanding wife, she forgives her husband easily, even at the biggest mistakes ever. I wish I can have a family as perfect as this.
