Claire’s POV
The next morning….
It’s a Saturday morning. I wake up and find Killian’s side of bed cold, I stand up and head to the bathroom.
After I finish my morning business in there, I comes out and head towards the dinning table.
When I get to the dinning table, I find the food I left on the table for Killian from last night still intact. Which means he didn’t come back from his walk yesterday.
I carry the dish back to the kitchen and begin my morning chores.

After three hours…. I’m done with my chores. I decides to rest for a while in the living room, I pick up a game magazine to read.
Halfway through the magazine, my phone’s ringtone blares in the air. I check the caller ID, it’s a strange number. I press the answer button and bring the phone closer to my ear.
“Hello?” I said.
“Longest time, Claire” I hear a female voice say.
I furrow my brows.
“Longest time? Who are you?” I asked. I don’t remember having any friends that I haven’t seen in a while.
My only friends are Keira and Charlotte, if she even considers me as a friend.
The lady laughs, then stop. I can hear her walking.
“Come on, Ryan. Say hello to momma” she said.
Ryan? What is she talking about?.
“Momma… Momma… Momma”. I hear Ryan’s voice.
My heart beat increase, I stand up from the sofa abruptly.
“Okay, that’s enough!” She said and take the phone away from him, I guess.
“I know you miss your son. So thank me for letting you talk to him” she laughs.
“What are you talking about? How did you get to my son? Who are you for Pete sake?” I asked all these questions in panic.
“It’s only been like what?… Three months and you already forgotten about me? I’m hurt”
Then I listened to the voice one more time, and it dawn on me. Anita!
” Anita? “
” Bingo! We’ve got a winner in the house!” She said.
I growled lowly.
“Anita what do you want? If you dare harm my boy in any way, I promise you’ll live to regret it. I won’t let you go this time” I growled out.
” Calm down, tigress. I won’t hurt him, your husband and I already have a deal. So until it’s done, I won’t hurt him”
Killian knows about it?
” My husband knows about it?” I asked cluelessly.
“Oh, he hasn’t told you about it yet? Oops… I guess I shouldn’t have tell you anything then” he said, obviously not sorry.
I hang up and quickly head for the door, I need to let Killian’s parents know about this.
Killian’s POV
“Killian, here are the divorce papers. All you need to do is sign and get Claire’s signature on it too” Lucas said.
We are in my parents mansion, yesterday I left Claire at the penthouse with an excuse of going for a walk. And I didn’t go back home, I just came straight to my parents mansion.
“Killian, I still insist you let Claire Know about this and what your plans are” my dad said.
” No. If I tell her, it won’t sound real and Anita will easily see through my plans. It’s safe if she doesn’t know, I don’t want any mistakes” I said.
I can’t let Claire in on all this, our son’s life is at stake here. I just hope everything goes smoothly for me, or everything will be in vain.
Suddenly, the door open and Claire walks in hastily.
“Boss lady!” Lucas greet her with a surprise Expression.
She doesn’t answer him. She just looked at everyone and head upstairs.
“Ryan! Ryan!” She calls as she goes.
I exchange looks with Lucas, then with Keira. They both shake their heads. Just then Claire comes back downstairs and stride straight to me.
“Killian, where’s Ryan?” She asks.
I gulp nervously and turn to Keira for some help.
” Oh… He’s playing with other kids” she said.
Claire turns to her slowly, and suddenly starts to laugh.
“Other kids? Really?” She pause and look at me. “You guys don’t have neighbors who have kids. So which other kids is he playing with?” She asked.
” Claire, listen…. “
” No, Mom” she interupts Mom. “I asked Killian to pick Ryan up, so I want him to tell me where exactly my son is” she said.
” Claire…. I… ” I try to say.
“I don’t want any of your lies, where is my son?” She pause and suddenly looks at me like she just realized something. “So this is what you’ve been hiding from me?”
I know she won’t listen to any of my explanations right now. So I bring out the divorce papers and stretch it out to her.
She looks at the papers in my hand. Then she scoff.
“What are these?” She asked.
“Divorce papers” I answered.
“Then why are you giving them to me?”
I roll my eyes and sigh in frustration.
“Sign them” I said.
“What?” She’s shocked.
