“What was that about?” I asked Niran as we walked out of the building.
“I have no idea. Why would they come up with such a decision, just like that?” He asked and I shrugged my shoulders.
“I am perplexed too. I mean,are they trying to bring us against each other? By making us fight for the throne? Literally it should be you ruling not me.” I said and he sighed.
“Maybe this is the way they want to make us suffer for making out with maids.” He said and I scoffed.
“That’s not even making any sense.” I said and then looked at him.
“Niran we don’t have to fight over the throne. To be honest, I don’t even want it. I just want a normal life with Akira, and the life of a king is never normal. So we would get that throne back for you.” I said and he looked at me with a smile on his face.
“Thank you Arjun.” He said happily and I nodded. I knew he had always wanted to sit on that throne since we were very young.
He is the leader material not me. He is fit for the throne, so he would have it.
“I need to see Akira now.” I said and he nodded.
“And I need to see Vanna.” He said winking at me making me laugh.
We parted ways and I couldn’t stop smiling when I thought of Niran’s love life. I mean, who would ever think he would fall in love with a slave? Not after the hatred he has portrayed to so many slaves in the palace.
Vanna must be a very lucky girl to win his stoney heart over. I got to the building where Akira and I was when I saw a familiar figure from afar.
“Isn’t that Maya?” I asked myself straining my eyes to get a clearer view. As soon as she got closer, I began to boil in anger.
“What the hell. What the f**k are you doing here! You want to take this place from us too?” I yelled in rage walking close to her and I saw she was weeping.
I wanted to strangle her right there, but when I saw her weeping, it made me wonder.
“Arjun, I am sorry.” She said and I arched my brows in shock.
“What? What games are you playing now? What the hell are you doing here!” I yelled louder than earlier and then Akira walked out of the building.
“Arjun? Are you okay?” She asked and as soon as she saw Maya said held my hand.
“What is she doing here?” She asked angrily and I looked at her before looking at Maya again.
“You need to know I didn’t know anything about this. Katika was behind it all.” She said and I scoffed.
“And you expect me to believe anything that comes out of that your filthy mouth? I asked.
“Please can Akira excuse us?” She asked and I laughed.
“That would never happen. Say whatever you want to say. We are busy.” I said and Akira tightened her grip on my hand.
“Fine, all I want to say is. Kaleb was the love of my life, though I never told him. But I never knew he was having a crush on Katika. She used him and he got killed, and she isn’t even remorseful.” She said and I shrugged my shoulders.
“And how is that my problem? That’s your family issue not mine.” I said and she sighed.
“Can you just let me finish please?” She asked and I looked at Akira before looking at her.
“My sister killed the love of my life for her own selfish interests, and I can’t let her get away with it.” She said and I heaved.
“It’s not her selfish Interest, it’s your families selfish interests. So just go away because you are not making any sense.” I said turning to walk away with Akira.
“I want to help you get the throne back.” She said in haste making me stop abruptly.
“What? Why would you even do that?” I asked turning to look at her.
“Because I want to see Katika suffer for what she did to Kaleb.” She said and I got pissed.
“Katika isn’t the only one to blame here, even the so called love of your life was so dumb and wicked to backstab his own friend because of a lady. So for the records, I feel no remorse for Kaleb.” I raped with a grin on my face.
“I know but I can’t let Katika go Scot free. I would help you get back the throne.” She said and I scoffed.
“At what profit? If you get back the throne, then you would be suffering along side with her. We aren’t stupid to believe you would suffer just to see your sister suffer.” Akira said and I nodded in agreement.
“Just go and leave us in peace. Whatever evil you and your family are planning this time won’t work.” I said walking away with Akira.
“Mei is with Katika!” She said in a loud tone and I sighed. Akira looked back and walked up to her.
“What? What is she doing there? What does she want with Mei?” She asked in anger.
“They are now lovers.” She said and I laughed.
“And you expect us to believe that?” I asked walking to them.
“I didn’t and that’s why I brought prove.” She said bringing out her phone and punching it.
Akira and I exchanged looks before she started playing a voice recording to our hearing.
“That was not your choice to make! Whether he deserves to die or not! That wasn’t your choice to make you b**ch! I lost the love of my life and all you do is hook up with a b**ch?” Maya said in rage.
“You would say no such thing about Mei. Get out!” Katika yelled and Maya boiling in anger nodded.
“The battle line has been drawn Katika.” We heard Maya say.
“This was some hours ago when I confronted her about Kaleb. They were in the bath tub together, having a bath after they made out! She wants to use Mei against you.” She stated and Akira looked at me.
“Mei is changed. She can never do that to us.” Akira and I was so confused at the moment.
“She betrayed you so as to gain her freedom. She left you all and you didn’t even bother to go with her. Now she has the royals behind her back, she is the girlfriend to the first Princess and you think she would still see you as a friend. If you think so, then it’s cool. But you need as many allies as possible if you want to get back that throne. I would get you time to think.” She said and turned her back against us as she walked away.
Akira and I stared at each other not knowing exactly what to say to each other.
“Do you think we can trust her?” Akira asked and I sighed.
“I don’t know Akira. I really don’t know.” I responded staring at Maya as she walked away.
