I got to Father and I saw he was planning to go somewhere.
“Father where are you going?” I asked with the fear that he must have caught up with Arjun and Akira.
“I am going to bring My son and that b**ch’s corpses home.” He ranted and my eyes widened.
“Have you seen them?” I asked looking at Kaleb.
“Kaleb has an idea, he knows where they may be hiding, so we are going to bring them back.” He said and Kaleb nodded smiling.
“Why can’t you let the guards do their job, and you rest.” I said pretending to be actually caring.
“No Niran. I can’t just sit here and let them come back with sad news of not finding them. I am going to them myself and Kaleb is tagging along.” He stated and I grew more angry with Kaleb.
“I am coming along then.” I said and he shook his head.
“No Niran,stay back and watch things in the Palace.” He said and I shook my head.
“No! I can’t just sit back here while you go out there. I should be with you. The cabinet and mother would do the watching. I am going with you.” I said and he nodded.
“Fine.” He answered walking away with Kaleb and I quickly moved aside and picked up my phone to call Arjun.
I dailed my other phone number, but it wasn’t reachable.
“Sh*t,they must be in a place where the service is bad. How will I get to them now?” I thought racking my brain seriously.
“We are leaving already.” The head guard said to me Jolting me out of my thoughts.
“Where are we going anyways?” I asked.
“The Cave, we have no idea where that is because Kaleb claims to be the only one to know it because it’s their childhood playing site.” He explained and I nodded reluctantly.
“Let’s go.” I said taking the lead and he followed behind me.
Now I know why the call wasn’t connecting, there is no service in the cave.
I need to do something to safe Arjun and Akira.Must especially Akira, she is the one with a death sentence.
And I can’t just let her die,not when Arjun, Hana and most especially Vanna loves her.
“Prince Niran.” I heard that sweet voice behind me and I looked back to see Vanna in tears.
“You don’t have to worry Vanna. Akira isn’t dying,I promise you.” I said feeling hurt seeing her that way.
“She is my best friend.i can’t lose her.” She said admist tears and I nodded.
“I Understand Vanna,and you aren’t going to lose her okay?” I said and she nodded.
The guard looked at us with confusion. Well I know the source of his confusion, he haven’t seen me talk to a slave in this manner.
“Let’s go.” I said to the guard and he bowed his head as I walked away. I looked at Vanna once more before finally getting out of her sight.
I got outside the Palace and I saw Father,Kaleb and the rest of the guards in front with burning Sticks and lanterns.
I walked fast to catch up with Father. I need to ask him what he has in mind to do to Akira and Arjun.
“Father.” I called as soon as I was closer and he turned to look at me.
“Yes Niran.” He said still looking very angry.
“Father what do you plan on doing to Arjun and Akira?” I asked and he faced front speechlessly.
“I am killing Akira for sure. And for your brother Arjun, I would never let him have access to the female Maids again.” He said clenching his jaw and my heart skipped.
I knew no one could change his mind about killing Akira. What if something happens and then changes everything?
Then I remembered the dream Arjun had, about the other kingdom waging war against ours.
If that happens now, then father would be distracted and would want to face the kingdom issue first ignoring Arjun and Akira.
“My King, the Cave is right there.” Kaleb said and my heart began to beat very fast as we all saw the fire they had set to keep them warm.
“Oh My.” I said picking up my phone and running aside. I need to make a call,Akira can’t die.
ARJUN
I was almost falling into a deep sleep when I moved again, preventing myself from falling unconscious totally.
Suddenly,I heard some noises like that of the grass. I sprang up and looked around seeing nothing because of the fire that was burning right in front of us.
I looked at Akira and I saw how peaceful she slept in my hands.
“I can’t let her down, not after how much she trusts me.” I thought standing up.
Soon,the noises approached and i heard footsteps. It can’t be! Father can’t know this place.
If at all Father knows where we are, Niran would call. I picked out the phone and I checked the screen.
“Sh*t, there is no service.” I mumbled fearfully. Niran must have tried the phone.
“Akira, we need to move now!” I said tapping her and she sprang up too.
“What’s wrong?” She asked looking around in fear.
“I think they caught us. The fire must have drawn their attention.” I rapped and she stood up immediately.
I could see tears form in her eyes, and she began to shiver.
“Am I going to die?” She asked as I led the way out of the cave.
“Yes you are going to die.” I heard Father’s voice and my heart stopped.
“Grab her.” Father said and I quickly hid her behind me.
“No! No one is touching her. You have to go through me first.” I said boldly.
“That’s easy. Knock him out and grab that b**ch.” Father said and I saw Niran looking at me sadly and Kaleb grinning making me furrow my face in confusion.
“What are you doing here?” I asked looking Kaleb and the next thing I knew was that I was hit on the head.
My grip loosened from Akira and I fell to the ground, and fell unconscious.
