I watched as he signalled her to wait as he smiled and greeted people walking out of the church auditorium.
His eyes kept flashing in her direction each second.
The crowd of worshipers walking out of the church makes it unable to keep a steady watch
I saw mother with Angie and Erica, I ran up to meet them.
“Have you seen your father? Mother asked while scanning around the crowd with her eyes.
“I saw him earlier walking out of the church..” I replied.
“,Go and search for him and when you find him, ask him what he will like to have for lunch and dinner. Hurry up and return back. We will be home waiting for you..”
I speed off, searching around for father.
He wasn’t inside the church or outside.
The crowd had dispersed and just handful of people hanging around.
I knew the exact place to go look but I wasn’t very certain
But it was worth trying.
I ran down the road, straight to the lone part.
The thorn bushes dragged at my trouser as I ran down but I didn’t stop
This part was lonely and quiet especially on a Sunday that people rarely use it.
It a road that leads to the farmers farmland and hardly you see a family coming to the farm on a Sunday.
I have seen father coming down this road before, I followed him behind until I could no longer.
I use to wonder who he comes to see mostly on a Sunday until I saw her, she’s the wife of master Teto, the engineer.
She also sings in the choir and lives with her husband and daughter.
Her name is Flora and she’s not as beautiful as my Mother yet I don’t know what father see’s in her.

I heard noise down a bushy part and had to slow down my pace.
I avoided making noise with the bushes as I slowly walked down while trying to catch my breath after a long run

“Something or someone is there, I heard a noise..” Flora said to father
“Wait here let me go and see what it is..”
At that moment, I knew my life was in serious danger.
I can hear father’s footsteps approaching
