” Aren’t you ashamed of yourself Jamie…? Having s£x with a nurse in the same hospital your daughter is admitted to..? Ah!” Mother’s voice was resonating in the room as she lashed out at father
We are currently back to the house and in their matrimonial bedroom trying to resolve what almost took place earlier
Mother was not taking it easy on father who seems very unconcerned as he prepared to take a bath.
His nonchalant behavior had even angered mother the more and she continued ranting in sarcasm
” You can ignore me all you want but it doesn’t erase your sins. So that wh0re Nurse Cindy is who you could lμst after…? Common Jamie…I thought you were actually more than that!”
” How is it your business with whoever I choose to have s€x with…? Tell me how it concerns you Felicia…?” Father asked nonchalantly and he was at the same time pulling off his shirt as though whatever mother said was gibberish
I just stood at a distance watching the dramatic words exchange as I awaited the time Angie’s school will be over for the day, so I’ll go and pick her up
” You are asking your wife how it is her business that her husband is sleeping with another woman…?” Mother exclaimed fuming as she took a breath
“…you know what Jamie…? You are so lucky that Jacob stopped me on time if not…what I would have done to that Nurse…she would have regretted it for the rest of her miserable life!” Mother said whilst evidently vibrating in ânger
She’s correct in her words, I was able to stop her right on time before she rained brimstones after she caught father and nurse Cindy making out in the restroom.
It wasn’t an easy task though as I had to employ a diplomatic way of averting the disgraceful situation that would have taken place if mother had dragged nurse Cindy out to the waiting hall
It took me a while to come up with an idea. To implement it, I had to run into the restroom and I lied to everyone’s hearing that Erica was finally awake.
Mother who was holding onto nurse Cindy’s skirt left her immediately I said that and dashed out to Erica’s ward.
Nurse Cindy was shaking in fear as she shamelessly picked her undies that was laying on the floor. She scampered away before mother could return after discovering that what I said was a lie
Father was the only one there and he was still trying to properly adjust his trouser when mother came back.
Mother still boiled in anger but as usual she was powerless against father who hissed loudly and he had walked out of the restroom leaving us there
I just sighed as mother looked at me angrily. I’m sure in her mind she was wondering why I had tricked her
It’s possible that she may even believe that I am now on father’s side for allowing nurse Cindy to escape her wrath
But the truth is that I was more scared for mother than I was for nurse Cindy.
I know how an¡malistic father is and he would not have taken it lightly with her when we got back home and that was the impending mess I tried to avoid
” You should actually be thanking your God that your son stopped you on time from creating a mess and dragging my name to the mud…else I would have skinned you alive in this house and dâmned the consequences!” Father exclaimed proudly and his words left mother dumbstruck
As for me I simply shook my head in pity. It means I was right after all.
Father would have turned mother into a punching bag and even k¡lled her in the process if she did create a mess
” Is that all you have to say to me…? Jamie I have given you everything I am worth for the past fifteen years of our marriage. What exactly does that μgly woman have that I don’t have…?”
Father looked at mother amusingly and bursted into laughter. He stopped laughing after a while but still didn’t give any response to mother’s questions
He just continued with what he was doing without sparing mother a glance
By now he was pulling off his trousers leaving only his boxers and was trying to tie a white towel on.
” …answer me Jamie! What have I done to deserve this sort of disrespect from you…?” Mother kept pushing for a reply and somehow I wished she never did as father’s response was so despicable
” Have you seen that woman’s shape…? She’s well endowed and you know what’s more..? You’re now very loose for my liking but she’s so very tight down there” father said licking his lips in a dreamy state not minding the effects his words were having on mother’s mental health
I was young to understand what he truly meant by the last sentences but from the painful glint in mother’s eyes, I knew those words hit her hard in a bad way
” You married me as a virgin Jamie. Every change in my inner and outer appearance took place in your house as your wife. It’s not enough that you had cheated on me but now you are even comparing me to a wh0re….someone who had easily jumped into bed with a married man right in her workplace…?”
” Well at least she has a workplace…how about you…? What else do you do in this house aside giving birth to dullards and eating my food as a glutton…?”
” My children are not dullards and did you just call me a glutton…? Jamie do you listen to yourself talk…? You are so insensitive for saying this to me as your wife. When will you stop hurting me…?”
” This is my house Felicia so I will say whatever I want to say. If you don’t like it that way then go back to your father’s wretched house…after all you are of no use to me. You talked about your worth earlier but we both know that you’re worth nothing without me in your life”
Mother was so hurt that for the first time she bared her mind without caring if it was going to get father provoked or not.
” Jamie I can’t believe those words came from you of all people. I have done everything a wife should do for her husband but you seem not to appreciate it. You stopped me from everything productive. Allow me return back to school to complete my studies…you disagreed. Allow me work then…your answer was still a no. Open a business for me..you declined saying that I should concentrate on taking care of the children and now you call me useless..?”
It’s obvious she was tired of keeping it in and wanted to let it all out and she was crying so hard that I felt pity for her.
I would have moved over to comfort her but to avoid any form of transfer of aggression on me, I stayed glued to where I stood as I continued watching everything in silence
Father scoffed and ignored mother. He was whistling with his mouth as he entered the bathroom to take his bath.
He came out after he was done and looked at me probably asking me to get out so that he could change his clothes
I understood his cue and I quietly went out. I entered the sitting room to check the wall clock and I realized that it will soon be time to pick Angie from school.
I decided to start going so that I’ll reach there in no time.
As I walked down the road, my mind kept on reflecting on all what has been happening in our lives lately
I remembered the incident that led to Erica landing in the hospital. I remembered how I caught father touching flora immorally in the bush
Also how father forced himself on mother and somehow I was mentally and psychologically imagining what experimenting it would feel like.
I was wondering if I should try it out or not. Even if I wanted to, who will I possibly try it out with…?
and then something clicked.
Flora has a daughter who is almost my age mate. She’s 13 while I am 14.
It won’t be a bad idea trying it with her so at least through her daughter, Flora will get a taste of the medicine she serves mother through father.
I had a double mind though because she’s innocent but then I didn’t care
I’m going to fight mother’s battles for her and I’ll first start with Flora’s daughter.
