Just then, Shawn came out of his room, dressed up for work, his expression turned serious, his eyes calm. He came to the dinner table to see Violet’s smiling face, and his expression turned puzzled, his eyebrows furrowing.

“Good morning,” Violet said excitedly, her expression turned cheerful, her eyes shining.

Shawn stared confusedly at her as he took a sip from his coffee, his expression turned inquiring, his eyes narrowing. “Why are you so happy?” he asked, his voice firm.

Violet’s expression turned defensive, her eyes flashing. “Why? Can’t I be happy?” she said, her voice rising.

Shawn scoffed, his expression turned amused, his eyes glinting. “Is it about the phone?” he asked, his voice teasing.

Violet nodded, her expression turned enthusiastic, her eyes sparkling. Shawn’s expression turned curious, his eyebrows raising.

“Why are you so excited about the phone, or do you plan to get a boyfriend now that you have a phone?” he teased, his voice playful.

Violet’s expression turned mischievous, her eyes glinting. “That’s the number one reason,” she said, her voice sly.

Shawn’s expression turned surprised, his eyebrows shooting up. “I will take the phone from you if you dare bring a guy to this house,” he said, his voice sounding serious.

Violet scoffed, her expression turned indignant, her eyes flashing. “Why? Can’t I have a boyfriend?” she asked, her voice rising.

Shawn’s expression turned firm, his eyes serious. “Not on your age, you are still a kid,” he said.

Violet’s expression turned annoyed, her eyes narrowing. “I’m eighteen,” she said, her voice firm.

Shawn’s expression turned unyielding, his eyes calm. “You are still a kid to me,” he said.

Violet’s expression turned curious, her eyebrows raising. “What age do you expect me to get a boyfriend?” she asked.

Shawn’s expression turned nonchalant, his eyes calm. “Never,” he said, as he took a bite from his bread, his expression turning detached.

Violet’s expression turned shocked, her eyes widening. “What? What do you mean never? Do you expect me to die single?” she asked, her voice rising.

Shawn’s expression turned unyielding, his eyes serious. “I can live with that,” he said, his voice firm.

Violet’s expression turned frustrated, her eyebrows furrowing. “You are such an annoying old man,” she said, her voice annoyed. “Is this what you will do to your daughter, when you finally have one?”

Shawn’s expression turned amused, his eyes glinting. He scoffed, his expression turning condescending.

“That’s my rule here, no boyfriend,” he said, his voice firm. “And if I see you with one, just know you will be punished.”

Violet’s expression turned angry, her eyes flashing. Shawn stood up to leave, his expression turning dismissive.

“You are mean,” Violet said, her voice firm.

Shawn’s expression turned smug, his eyes glinting. “I know,” he said, and smirked as he walked away.

Violet’s expression turned furious, her eyebrows furrowing. “Old man,” she frown after him, and groaned angrily, her face twisted in frustration.

Weeks later, Sly’s men finally found Violet’s parents and her grandmother, and brought them to Sly’s mansion. Their eyes were tied with blindfolds, and Sly came down from his room, his expression turned calm, his eyes serious.

He ordered his men to untie their blindfolds, and they did. Violet’s parents were shocked at where they were, including her grandmother. Their expressions turned surprised, their eyes widening.

Violet’s Mother’s expression turned joyful, her eyes sparkling. “Mom?” she called, surprised to see her mother.

Her mother’s expression turned confused, her eyebrows furrowing. “Bianca, is this you?” she asked, looking around in confusion.

Sly interrupted from the staircase, his expression turned charming, his eyes glinting. “Welcome, everyone,” he said, his voice smooth.

Violet’s parents and her grandmother raised their faces to him, looking surprised, their expressions turned wary.

Sly’s expression turned amused, his eyes sparkling. “Long time no see,” he said, smiling, and moved to them.

Violet’s dad’s expression turned fearful, his eyes darting around. “Please, what do you want from us?” he asked, looking scared.

Sly’s expression turned confident, his eyes glinting. He smirked and sat down, ordering them to sit.

Violet’s Mother’s expression turned pleading, her eyes shining with tears. “Please don’t kill us, we haven’t done anything wrong to you, we know we owe you, and we promise to pay, please spare us,” she said, her voice trembling.

Her mother’s expression turned confused, her eyebrows furrowing. “What’s going on here, Bianca? Do you know him?” she asked, looking at her daughter.

Violet’s parents nodded, their expressions turned guilty.

Sly’s expression turned serious, his eyes narrowing. “This is not the reason why I brought you all here,” he said. “I know you owe me, and the time to pay me back is here.”

Violet’s dad’s expression turned worried, his eyes darting around. “But we still don’t have the money,” he said.

Sly’s expression turned inquiring, his eyebrows raising. “Do you two suddenly forget our bargain eighteen years ago?” he asked, trying to refresh their memories.

   SHAWN’S MANSION

Shawn came downstairs to the dining table, his expression turned expectant, his eyes scanning the room. He noticed Violet’s absence and his expression turned concerned, his eyebrows furrowing.

He called one of the workers, who told him she hadn’t seen Violet since she returned from school. Shawn sighed, his expression turned frustrated, his eyes rolling.

He decided to go look for her in her room, his expression turned determined, his jaw clenched. “Sofia,” he knocked, and no answer.

Shawn’s expression turned worried, his eyes narrowing. “Sofia, are you in there?” he asked, and still no response.

Shawn’s expression turned firm, his eyes serious. “I am coming in,” he said, and opened the door to go inside.

He saw Violet covered under the blanket and shivering, her expression turned weak, her eyes closed. Shawn’s expression turned alarmed, his eyes widening.

“Sofia,” he rushed to her, his voice soft, and felt her forehead, noticing she was running a body temperature.

“Mm,” she murmured, her voice weak.

Shawn’s expression turned concerned, his eyes serious. “Come on, I will call the doctor right away,” he said, as he brought out his phone and dialed his doctor’s number.

—

At Sly’s mansion, Grandma was in shock after Sly revealed everything. Her expression turned horrified, her eyes widening. “What? Bianca, you traded your daughter for money?” she said, her voice trembling.

Sly scoffed, his expression turned amused, his eyes glinting. Bianca’s expression turned guilty, her eyes cast downward. “We had no choice, Mom, we needed the money to save our business,” she said.

Violet’s dad’s expression turned regretful, his eyes sighing. “Yes, we thought we could pay back and end the bargain with him,” he said.

Grandma’s expression turned angry, her eyes flashing. “You two are the worst parents ever! Is that why you abandoned her to me and ran away?” she asked, her voice rising.

Bianca and Violet’s dad nodded, their expressions turned ashamed, their eyes cast downward. “We thought she would be safe with you, and we would come back for her after we gathered the money,” Bianca said, feeling guilty.

Grandma’s expression turned disgusted, her eyes spitting. “I am so ashamed of you,” she spat.

Sly smirked, his expression turned triumphant, his eyes sparkling. “Why do you think you are the saints here?” he said, talking to their mother. “You also sold your granddaughter too for money,” he said, and Violet’s parents were surprised as their mother turned her face away, shameless.

“Mom, you did what?” Bianca asked, her expression turned shocked, her eyes widening.

Violet’s dad’s expression turned angry, his eyes flashing. “What did you do to my daughter?” he asked, and their mother remained quiet.

Sly’s expression turned amused, his eyes glinting. “I will tell you, she sold your daughter to the most dangerous man for money,” he said, and Violet’s parents gasped in shock as they stared at their mother.
