I got home and met mother preparing the dinning for lunch.
“Hey you are back early.” She said smiling and I walked to where she was.
“Yep! Isaac didn’t let me in.” I said breathing out loud as I sat.
“Well it’s hard to believe you just want to be friends, when I see clearly you are in love with his girlfriend.” She said and I sighed.
“I don’t know what is wrong with him. For the first time, I felt love and I tried not to hate him. I am trying to be a good person and he would me.” I said picking up the pancakes.
“You didn’t wash your hands.” She said and I nodded.
“I know. I am just too tired to stand up from here. I am heartbroken.” I said and she laughed.
“Heartbroken? Look here Enoch, forget about Diana okay? You can be best of friends.” She said and I smriked.
“What if she falls in love with me?” I asked and she looked at me.
“Enoch.” She called rolling her eyes.
“Fine. I have heard you, but I need you to be honest with me mom.” I said and she looked at me with this serious eyes.
“What’s that son?” She asked sitting next to me.
“What Happened between you and Mrs Caroline?” I asked and she sighed.
“Son it’s a long story.” She said.
“Shorten it then.” I said not willing to back off.
“Fine. Why do you want to know this story?” She asked.
“Mom come on. Can’t I know what happened during your youthful age?” I asked and she nodded.
“Ihave been best friends with Caroline since our youthful age. I knew her Jacob for a very long time, trust me I loved their union.”
“When Jacob asked her to marry him, trust me, I was the happiest bestie on Earth. After they got married I began to notice something different about Caroline.”
“Then I got to know that she was having an affair with one of the rich brothers Elisha. I was so terrified and I couldn’t bare the truth knowing that Jacob was madly in love with her, and knowing the truth will break him.”
“I talk to Caroline just as a Best friend should. I needed her to tell me why she gave up Jacob’s love for riches, but she said nothing to me. All she said was that she never loved Jacob and she would never love him.”
“On the long run, she realized she was pregnant with DIANA. Jacob’s daughter. I was happy and sad for Jacob. He was still in the darkest lies.”
“If i didn’t mention, Jacob and I were also very close. We were friends, the three of us. I couldn’t keep the truth from him, so I told him about Caroline darkest secrets.”
“He got pissed and flew out of the country, promising her that she would never see him again. When he left, Caroline knew I told him something and then she confronted me.”
“I told her I had to do what was right as a friend. She got very angry and our misunderstanding started. She hated me so much for what I did. I actually spoilt her plans.”
“When she had Diana, she couldn’t take her to Elisha because he would never accept a bastard. So she had to give Diana up so as to be with him.”
“So since then. We have hated each other.” She narrated and I sighed.
“Woah. So Diana’s mom is the evil one.” I said and she sighed.
“She did what she thought it was right. Please don’t say this to Diana. I don’t want a situation whereby she hates her mother again. She is trying to gain her back.” She said and I nodded.
“I told Isaac everything too, but he promised me never to let Diana know anything about it, though she wants to know.” She added.
“Sure. I would go wash my hand now.” I said walking to the kitchen deep in thoughts.
“So my mother said all this to Isaac, and he promised not to tell Diana, which means he is keeping a secret from her.”
“Now keep a secret from her would mean he can’t trust her to handle issues. But then, I come in as the hero to tell her the story and then we solve the issue together.”
“Which implies gaining her trust while Isaac losing hers.” I said smriking wickedly.
Time to get the girl Enoch. You are the boss at this.
