Mrs Danielle took off to Caroline’s house and I stood up from where I sat walking to the room where Issac entered.
“Isaac.” I called placing my ear on the door, and I could hear him sobbing.
“Isaac I need to go out now. Trust me, it’s for the best. I will be back soon, so you have the house to yourself for now. But trust me once I am back and you aren’t out, i would force my entry into this room.” I said and waited for his response but I got nothing.
So I walked out of the house heading to Danielle’s house. I couldn’t stop thinking of how I was going to place it in front of Enoch.
I would just have to say it to him, I just hope he doesn’t flare up.
I kept walking down the street thinking hard and I didn’t know when I got to Danielle’s house.
I pressed the door bell waiting for a response but I got nothing too.
“Did Enoch find out and then leave the house?” I asked myself fearfully.
I was about pressing the door bell again when I noticed the gate wasn’t actually locked. I opened the door slowly peeping in to see if everything was okay.
The place was awkwardly silent, so I wasn’t comfortable.
I decided to walk into the compound to find out what was really going on.
“Enoch.” I called but all I could hear was the sound of the calm breeze blowing.
I walked rapidly to the door and opened it to also see it Wasn’t locked.
“Enoch?” I called walking into the living room, I looked around me briefly but I couldn’t see traces of anyone.
“What is going on?” I asked myself. I sighed and wanted to go back when I heard a glass crash startling me.
“Enoch?” I called walking to the direction the noise came from. I got closer and I saw Enoch laying on the ground with alcohol next to him.
He recked of Alcohol.
“Enoch.” I called running to him.
“Hey Diana.” I said trying to stand but he fell to the ground again.
“Enoch what happened? Why are you drinking?” I asked kneeling in front of him.
“I overheard.” He said and I sighed hugging him.
“You know already.” I said and he nodded against my shoulders.
“The Dna test. Is it true?” He asked and I nodded.
“It’s positive. Issac is your elder brother Enoch.” I said and he began to Shed tears on my cloth.
“I have always wanted a brother Diana. But now what I have always wanted, happens to be the one I have always hated.” He said in tears.
“You don’t have to cry Enoch. It’s shocking to everyone too especially Isaac himself.” I said and h disengaged looking at me.
“Diana I have done many things to hurt him. He would never forgive me.” He said and I shook my head.
“You are wrong Enoch. Isaac is not that kind of person. He always forgives ” I said.
“How is he now?” He asked cleaning his tears.
“Still broken, he locked himself up and has been crying, he doesn’t want to talk to anyone. Not even me, considering the fact that my mother is the cause of all this.” I said and he shook his head.
“It’s not about you Diana. He just needs time to process it, he loves you,I know it cos he has proven that to me. You don’t have to worry.” He said and I was surprised.
“And you?” I asked and he bowed his head.
“I won’t be surprised if he doesn’t accept me. I don’t expect his forgiveness anytime soon.” He said.
“You really want to catch up with him as your brother right?” I asked and he nodded.
“When I overheard you and mother, I sat down and began to think about all the things Isaac has passed through. I mocked him saying he is nothing whereas he is my brother. He isn’t poor as I thought he was. Life was just unfair to him.” He said and tears rolled down my eyes.
“I am so happy you see it that way.” I said.
“I feel guilty for been a d**k to him, and I am ready to make this right. I would go with you to the house.” He said.
“And what if he turns you down?” I asked.
“Then I will keep trying till he accepts me. You may think I am think mean and wicked, but it’s all a lie. I acted that way because I felt lonely and left out. Mother didn’t have my time since she met with Isaac.” He said and I felt Sorry for him.
“I am sorry Enoch.” I said and he shook his head.
“You shouldn’t be sorry for me, I deserve every bad thing. You should be sorry for Isaac, he is the one that needs it.” He said finally getting to stand right.
“Let’s go then.” I said and he nodded.
