“Diana I am sorry. Please open up.” I said hitting the door gently.
“Love I am deeply sorry, I didn’t want grudges between you and your mother. You were just growing the relationship and I didn’t want to spoil it. Please don’t see it another way.”
“I know what it’s like to not have a mother, I have never felt motherly love, I didn’t want you to lose yours too. I am sorry.” I said in a shaky voice and I heard her approach the door.
She opened up and I saw tears in her eyes, i wanted to speak again but she stopped me with a very tight hug.
“Don’t say anything. I am sorry for not listening to you.” She said and I hugged her very tight.
“Thank you for understanding.” I said and she shook her head.
“You thank you. You did it for me, I get it and I really appreciate it. But please don’t ever lie to me again.” She said and I cupped her face in my hand.
“I would never lie to you again.” I said planting a kiss on her lips.
“Where did you go? I came out earlier and you were nowhere to be found.” She said staring at my face and I guess she just noticed my swollen lips.
“Oh my God, what happened to you?” She asked touching my lips gently.
“I realized only Enoch could tell you everything. So I got angry and went there. We had a fight.” I said and she sighed.
“You didn’t have to Isaac. So no one stopped you two?” She asked looking worried.
“His mother stopped us. I am sorry but I was too angry to think.” I said and she nodded.
“It’s cleaned up?” She asked looking at it.
“She helped clean it up and also washed my shirt in the machine.” I said and she smiled.
“And Enoch?” She asked.
“He should be fine. He ran in when his mother intervened. He thought she had my side instead of his.” I said sighing.
“It’s fine. He would get over it, and you should too. Stop acting like babies.” She said walking to the couch and holding me with her.
We both sat on the couch and then she moved to sit on me.
“Now I can’t kiss you the way I want because of your bursted lips.” She said and I laughed.
“We can take it slow.” I said smiling and she bent her head to kiss me.
There came a knock on the door stopping both of us.
“Who is it this time?” I asked sighing.
“I will get it.” She said getting off me and running to the door. She opened up and Mrs Danielle walked in looking kinda worried.
“Mrs Danielle. I sorry about what happened at your house today. I wasn’t myself.” I said and she nodded.
“It’s no big deal Isaac. And I am also sorry about chasing you away that way. Wasn’t myself neither.” She said and I smiled.
“I understand I hurt your son and you were angry. You don’t need to apologise. Every mother would do that for her child.” I said and she nodded.
“Speaking about that. Can I talk to you for a minute? Somewhere private?” She asked and I looked at Diana.
“It’s fine. Go with her.” She said smiling and we both walked out of the house.
“Hope no problems Mrs Danielle?” I asked looking at her.
“Not at all. I am just curious about the birth mark close to your collar bone.” She said.
“Really?? It’s not a big deal. It’s just a big black mark that I didn’t know how it got to my chest.” I said moving down my shirt down for her to see it again.
She moved closer and placed her finger on it moving it up and down while I stared at her.
“What’s so special about it?” I asked looking at her.
“I had someone very close and dear to me with the same mark but I didn’t even know he is the one.” She said and I furrowed my brows.
“Really? Who is he?” I asked eagerly.
“I am not sure yet. Can you tell me little about your childhood?” She asked and I breathed out loud.
“My childhood, was less fun without my parents. I was told when I got wise that I was dumped on the streets after they died.” I said.
“Who told you they died? Did you try finding them?” She asked.
“The children that took care of me. I didn’t try to find them, they are dead. I focused more on feeding myself not looking for dead parents.” I said.
“What if they are not dead? Maybe it was just a rumor?” She asked and I narrowed my brows.
“If they have been alive and they didn’t look for me, then they remain dead to me.” I said and I saw she went awkwardly silent.
“What if they tried their best but couldn’t get to you?” She asked and I looked at her suspiciously.
“What’s going on with you? Why are you so concerned about my dead parents?” I said and she looked away shaking her head.
“It’s nothing, and thanks for sharing it with me.” She said with her back turned to me.
“Why is your back turned against me? It makes me remember how my parents turned their backs against me.” I said and she looked at me and I saw tears in her eyes.
“Why are you crying?” I asked staring at her.
“I need you to know they didn’t turn their backs on you Isaac. They would never, and they regret this ever happened.” She said and I got confused.
“Wait are you their friend? Did they send you here to say this? Did they appear to you in the dream?” I bomberded her with questions.
“No.” She said cleaning her face.
“So what is the meaning of all this??” I asked and she sighed and looked at me.
“You will understand very soon Isaac. I should leave now.” She said walking away.
“Mrs Danielle!” I called but she ignored and kept walking.
“Isaac are you okay?” Diana asked walking out of the house.
“I don’t understand Mrs Danielle.” I said staring at her as she left.
“What did she tell you?” She asked.
“About my dead parents. Saying they didn’t turn their back against me.” I said.
“They didn’t turn their back against you Isaac. They didn’t, it wasn’t a choice they made.” She said and i shook my head.
“Why did they bring me into this world when they wouldn’t stay to take care of me? I have lived 19 years of my life eating garbage. Nothing justifies that Diana.” I said in tears walking into the house.
