   ••NEW YEAR EVE••

   Richard works wonders in preparation for the feast, the garden is decorated beautifully with chairs arranged straight on the long table, and different mouth-watering food is lined up on the table, Richard hired people to do the decoration of the garden as well as Christmas light around the house. Soon everything was ready and everyone started coming in, first it was Alex’s family, Richard, and little Aurora were the ones directing them to the garden.

    “You are welcome, please this way”. he said.

   ” Thank you”. Mrs.Stella said smiling as she left with her father to the garden.

   “Dad, when will uncle arrived?”. Little Aurora asked.

   ” He is on his way already”. he said and she smiled, and then his family came.

     “Grandma “. Aurora called and rushed to hug her.

    ” How are you, my little angel?”. Mrs.Judith asked as she caressed her face.

    “She is growing bigger by the day,” Juliana said.

    “How are you doing my dear?”. Mr. Wilson asked.

    ” Am fine Grandpa, you are welcome”. she gave a curtsy and they laughed.

   “Aww! so cute”. Ella said.

    ” Let me take you to your seat”. she said and led them to the garden.

   Some minutes later, everyone was already present including Elizabeth, they were all seated waiting for Alex.

    “Alex is taking longer than we expected”. Elizabeth said as she sipped from her champagne.

    ” He will be here soon, I just got his text that he is near”. Richard said.

    “He should hurry because I am starting to get hypnotized by all this food “. Angel said and they laughed.

    ” You are so funny, Angel”. Nina said.

    “Am glad everyone laughed “. she said.

   ” Yeah, you made me remember my young age when we had a feast like this”. Grandpa said.

    “Really Grandpa?”. Little Aurora asked.

    ” Yes, I will tell you all about it, it all started–“. He got interrupted.

    “Did I miss something?”. Alex interrupted from behind and they turned in his direction.

    ” Uncle!”. Aurora called happily as she ran to hug him, Alex picked her up and caressed her in his arms.

    “I miss you, my angel”. He said and then put her down. His mother came and hugged him.

    “So good to have you back”. she said and pulled away from him.

    ” Thank you, Mom”.

    “Welcome back bro”. Richard said as he hugged him.

    ” Thanks, man, you did a wonderful job here “. he said as they pulled away from each other.

   ” Any time “. he said and the rest welcomed him, then Elizabeth rushed and hugged him.

    “I miss you, I thought you wouldn’t come”. She said and Alex pulled away from her.

    ” Yeah, but I am back now”.

   “Come on son, come join us, I heard you organized this feast”. Grandpa said.

    ” Yes, I did it because I have a surprise for everyone”. he said.

    “Really?”. Ella asked.

    ” Yes, everyone should take their seat”. he ordered and Elizabeth left for her seat. “Ok”. He sighed and turned his back against them.” Come on kids”. he said and everyone was wondering, just then, the twins and Gabriel came over and everyone gasped in shock to see the twin’s resemblance of Alex.

    “Son, whose kids are these?”. Aurora’s grandma asked curiously.

   ” Um, these may sound surprising, but these two adorable kids here are my kids”. He said and they were all surprised.

    “Hello”. They said.

   ” Am Adrian”.

   “And I am Andrew and this is my half-brother Gabriel”.

    ” Hello everyone”. Gabriel said.

    “Son, what are you saying? You are confusing us”. Mrs.Stella said.

    ” Did you hit your head on something or you are acting insane?”. Elizabeth asked.

    “You don’t speak to my Dad like that!”. Adrian snapped and everyone was surprised.

    ” Yes, only my mom is allowed to talk like that to him”. Andrew said.

    “Uncle, is this the secret you were talking about?”. Aurora asked.

    ” Yes, honey, meet your brothers, Andrew and Adrian”. he said and Aurora moved to them and they smiled at her, everyone was staring confusedly.

    “Which one of you answered the call that day?”. She asked.

   ” I did”. Andrew replied.

   “Nice to meet you two, am Aurora”. she said.

   ” Aurora? you have the same name as our mom” Adrian said and everyone wide-eyed in surprise.”My dad calls her by the name all the time”.

   “Really? Is your mom here?”. She asked.

    ” Yes dear”. Alex replied and turned to the rest.”Let me introduce to everyone here the mother of my kids “. He said as he stretched his hand backward and Victoria took it and came forward, everyone became more hypnotized in great shock to see her.

    ” Hey everyone”. Victoria waved at them awkwardly.

   “Alex, get away from her, she is a ghost!”. Elizabeth yelled.

    ” This lady is really getting on my nerves, first she insulted my Dad and now she is calling my mom a ghost”. Adrian said and then Aurora’s grandma collapsed.

    “Grandma!”. Nina rushed to her as everyone was in panicked.

    ” This can’t be!”.Elizabeth said as she took her bag and ran off.

  Nina sprinkled water on Aurora’s grandmother until she regained consciousness, Victoria was by her side.

    “Will she be ok?”. Victoria asked politely and they turned to her surprisedly.

    ” Don’t give her that look, she had a memory loss which is why she doesn’t remember any of you”.Alex said

   An hour later everyone became emotional after Alex explained everything to them.

    “Oh, my daughter”. Aurora’s grandmother sobs as she hugs Victoria too.

    ” She is Alive, all these while I thought I would never see her again”. Nina sobs.

     “This is a miracle”. Juliana said.

   ” Indeed it is “. Ella replied 

    ” My beautiful Aurora”.She sobs still hugging her tight.

    “Who will ever think she is alive all this while”. Mrs.Stella said.

    ” And Alex never doubted her existence “. grandpa said.

    ” This is a thing of joy”.Mrs.Judith said.

    “I am happy you are back”. She pulled away and caressed her face.

    ” You don’t have to cry anymore, even if I can’t remember anyone here, but I can feel it that you are my grandmother”. Victoria said smiling at them.

    “Aurora”. Nina called between tears as she rushed to hug her. “Am happy you came back”.

    ” Dad, who is she?”. Andrew asked.

    “She is your mom’s best friend “. Alex replied.

    ” Oh, is Aurora her daughter too?”.Adrian asked.

   “Yes, she is my mom”. She replied.

    ” Andrew, Adrian, go say hi to your grandmothers”.Alex said and the two rushed to hug Aurora’s grandmother.

   “You two are my great-grandchildren”. she said and they nodded.” Am so happy to see you “. she kissed their forehead.

    ” They look so much like their father,” Nina said.

    “Yeah, everyone keeps saying that”. Victoria said as they smiled at each other.

    ” Is so good to have you back” she said.

    “And I am happy to be here”. they hug again.

    ” We missed you so much, we thought you had died,” Richard said as he hugged her and then pulled away from her.

    “Am glad I didn’t die”. She said jokingly and they laughed.

     ” My two grandsons are so adorable,” Mrs. Stella said as she caressed them in her arms.

     “Now I am a great grandfather”. he said and they laughed.

     ” Now we can celebrate”. Mr. Wilson said.

    “This is the best new year ever!” Angle said as they all sat down and started eating.

    “Thank you son for bringing my granddaughter back to me “. Aurora’s grandmother said.

    ” It’s my pleasure granny”.

    “My Dad is a superhero!” Adrian said and everyone laughed as the celebration went on.

    “Happy New Year’s everyone!”. Richard yelled.

    ” Uncle, is not yet time”. Andrew said.

    “Yes Dad, we still have two hours to go”. Little Aurora said and they laughed.

    ” My children are so smart”. Richard said.

    “I wonder where they got it from”. Alex said.

    ” I heard kids take after their mother’s brain,” Juliana said.

    “Oh really? I doubted” Richard said.

    “I agree with Richard”.Alex said.

    ” I don’t agree, I agree with Juliana”. Mrs. Judith said.

     “can we place a bet?”. Alex said.

    “Sure, bring it on,” Nina said and they all laughed enjoying themselves.

  Meanwhile, Elizabeth was suffocating in her room scattering everywhere as the guilt was hunting her.

    “No, this can’t be, I am doomed, Aurora can’t be back, she died, and I killed her, that’s not Aurora, I guess it’s her lookalike”. She squeezes herself on the bed.” No, she is going to tell everyone, I must leave this place, I don’t want to go to jail, No!”. She screams losing control of her senses, just then the thunder claps and it starts to rain. “Leave me alone!”.
