“Ten years ago. I was in Morocco. Job sh*ts. I met Regina in the company. I just finished my degree then.”
“She seemed to be attracted to me, and I was attracted to her also. So we became a couple.”
“Then we had sex, and then after a month, she told me she was pregnant and I was so angry. Because, I couldn’t stand on my own as a bachelor, I could think of bringing a child Into that mess.”
“I told her to get rid of the pregnancy, and after a long talks and thought she agreed to abort it. We were back together and after two days, she was nowhere to be found.”
“I asked her parents about her and they said she was out of Morocco. I asked to where but they told me nothing.”
“Their attitude toward me showed they didn’t want me around them. So I left. After some months, I also left Morocco and came back home when I heard mother died. Since then I haven’t set my eyes on her until today.”
“And then she claims that is my son of ten years ago whom we planned to terminate.” He narrated and I stared at him not knowing what to say.
“So she is the mother of your child.” I stated and he heaved looking at me.
“I am not sure Elena. She may try to push that boy on me.” He said and I shook my head.
“How old is he?” I asked and he bowed his head.
“He Is ten.” He replied.
“So he is ten, that is accurate. And then he takes after your face, and then she called you his father in front of you. So are you just going to ignore the boy and then if truly you are his father, he would hate you for the rest of his life. Perfect.” I mumbled and he shook his head.
“Elena can you please let us enjoy the moment? This vacation should be for us to enjoy ourselves, not hook up with my ex girlfriend and her child.” He said and I looked at him unbelievably.
“Your child Jace. Your child.” I said emphasizing on the “child”.
“We aren’t sure Elena.” He replied.
“Then we would have to be. We are running a DNA test.” I said adamantly.
“What? Why? What are you trying to prove?” He asked in shock.
“Nothing. I just want to be sure you are not the father of that boy. And if you are, you take up your responsibility over your son and stop acting like a coward.” I rapped.
“And you? What about you?” He asked.
“I will be here waiting to see the smile on that boy face, when you show him what he desperately needs, which is fatherly love.” I said and he swallowed hard.
REGINA
We got to our hotel room, and I noticed Jason was awkwardly silent.
“Jason? What’s up with you?” I asked as I helped him get rid of his shirt.
“Is that man truly my father?” He asked and I nodded.
“I am sorry you came to know him this way. It shouldn’t be this way.” I muttered looking into his eyes and I saw the Jace I knew again.
“But he wasn’t happy to see me. I was happy to see him but he wasn’t. Why?” He asked in his Childish tone and I bowed my head not knowing what to say.
“It’s a long story Jason. We can talk about it Tomorrow. You should rest now.” I said and he shook his head.
“No! I want to talk to papa. I want to talk to him.” He said in a loud voice and I sighed.
“Jason.” I called tiredly.
“Doesn’t he love me? Why doesn’t he want to see me too?” He asked and I rubbed my head.
“He… He doesn’t want to see you.” I said and he looked at me with those pretty eyes.
Then a knock came on the door and Jason ran to the door. He opened up and it happened to be Jace.
“Father?” Jason called happily and I saw a smile on Jace’s face.
“Hey.” He said bending down to his level and he looked at me.
