                   ELENA

As we waited, I saw different participants come out from the building. Some had smiling faces on and some came out with tears. Some even came out looking very angry, and some had no Expression on their faces.

“Mom I am scared.” I said shaking nervously.

“Elena you need to believe in yourself. Don’t let those that have been coming out change the way you feel about this Audition. You will do just fine.” She said and I nodded.

The lady that was right in front of me was called in. She was 25th, and immediately she went in, my heart began to beat very fast.

The expression that would be on her face will determine how I will feel before going into that building.

I heard the way she sang with her parents and she was pretty amazing. She had the voice of an angel. If she isn’t admitted, who then will?

She looked older than me too. She has to be admitted.

I looked around, mom and dad smiled at me and Alec, had this wicked grin on his face.

“I hate you.” I whispered and he scoffed.

“I haven’t told you I love you neither, because I don’t.” He said and I looked away rolling my eyes.

I waited nervously for the lady to come out, and when she did, she looked happy with her family.

I sighed knowing it was that was a good sign. I breathed out and when the voice spoke again, it was my number 26.

“Let’s go have some fun.” Alec said and I ignored him walking into the building. Mother and father walked behind me and Alec? I totally ignored him.

I found my self on the stage after walking for some seconds, and this anxiety came over me all of a sudden.

My family was led to the audience, at the back of the judges. The lights on the stage first scared the hell out of me.

I couldn’t see the audience, nor the faces of the judges clearly because I was yet to adjust to the lights on the stage.

“Can you please introduce yourself?” I heard a voice from the audience say.

“Oh i am sorry.” I said moving to the mic stand.

“I am Elena Valentine, I am 23, and I am here for the Audition.” I said trying to smile.

“Which song are you singing?” Another female’s voice asked.

“Dim the lights. She isn’t comfortable.” I heard a familiar voice whisper and the lights went down a little.

“Thanks. I will be singing falling by Trevor.” I said smiling.

“Falling? hm I love that song. Let’s hear you.” One of the judges said. I breathed out nervously, the way I wasn’t able to see Father and mother was kinda putting me off.

I needed to see the expression on their faces. That could cheer me up a little.

“We are waiting Miss Elena.” The female voice said and I nodded.

“Sorry.” I said Smiling nervously.

🎶 My last made me feel like I won’t try again

🎶But when I saw you, I felt something I never felt

🎶Come closer, I’ll give you all my love, if you treat my right

🎶Baby I’ll give you everything

🎶Talk to me.

“Enough!” I heard the voice from the judges making me shiver.

“What was that?” He asked and the lights came on letting me see everyone that was inside.

The three judges, my family and some few other people. I looked at the judges one by one and I saw they had this irritated looks on their faces.

Including the familiar one. Oh God, the young man I fell into outside.

“That is the worse presentation I have ever heard In my entire life.” The lady said and I saw Alec giggle. Father and mother had this pity in their eyes and that alone made my eyes heat up.

“I can’t even give you a one out of ten because your voice isn’t worth it.” She said raising a zero card. Tears rolled down my eyes uncontrollably and I didn’t seem to get myself anymore.

“Mark what do you say?” A lady beside said and I wondered how she got close to me. I was too carried away by the embarrassment that I didn’t even know she was next to me.

“Elena I see you are so determined to get into the institute. But it’s such a pity your voice isn’t going to help you fulfil that. You can come back next two years, I bet your singing abilities would have improved.” He said raising a care which had 1 on it.

My feet began to wobble as my eyes landed on the last judge. The familiar hot one.

“Jace what do you have to say?” The lady standing next to me asked and I stared at him knowing I was going to be turned down anyways.

“Elena, I don’t know what to say. You really want this, I can see you do. But try working on your singing skills, they are poor.” He said raising a care with the number 3 on it.

“Thanks.” I said in my teary voice and ran out off the stage. I passed the same route I passed when I was coming in.

I was almost out, my eyes were filled with tears that I didn’t see where I was going well. Suddenly, my leg hit something on the way and I fell.

Into the hands of someone!! Again!!

“I am sorry I…” I said in tears and paused to see it was Jace the judge.

“You need to be careful when walking.” He said and I moved away from him.

“Sorry.” I said walking away and he held me back.

“What? What do you want?” I asked in pain and tears.

“Elena I know exactly how you feel.” He said and I jerked my hand off his.

“No you don’t! You weren’t the one that was embarrassed in front of her family and her super annoying brother. You weren’t the one that has always dreamt of the audition, so as to get those kind of remarks. So you know nothing about how I feel.” I said angrily.

“Elena we were just truthful to you. I know Lydia went too far with her Remarks and ..”

“Yes she is a b**ch. And why are you here? You should be judging the next participant.” I said.

“I needed to talk to you. I can help you get into the institute. I have that influence.” He said and my mood was cheered up immediately.

“You can? How?” I asked eagerly and happily.

“Here, take this.” He said bringing out a card.

“That’s my card. Come to my office tomorrow and I will tell you how to go about it.” He said and I nodded.

“Wow thank you so much.” I said happily and my family began to approach.

“I will leave now.” He said bowing his head to my parents before leaving.

“Oh my baby…. I am…”

“Mother I am fine.” I said and Alec bursted Into laughter.

“I told you your singing is awful, you just wouldn’t believe me.” He said walking away before father laid his hand on him.

“I hate him.” I said walking to the car.
