“Do you mind?” I asked stretching to her the night robe as she sat in front of the TV.
“Thanks. Where can I put it on?” She asked looking at me.
“My room.” I said standing up.
“Come with me.”
We walked to my room and I led her into it. I smiled looking at her before walking out of the room.
I got to the room and picked up my phone to order for pizza. Right now I don’t think I can cook anything, same as Sandra.
I placed the order and dropped my phone. I moved where I hung my punching bag and began to punch it.
Diego’s name kept ringing in my head as I remembered what he did to Sandra’s apartment.
“I swear I will kill him.” I mumbled as I kept hitting the bag with anger. I began to breath very hard.
I wished it was Diego’s face I was actually punching. Then maybe I would be satisfied.
The punching became too intense and I started yelling as my punch touched the bag. My kuckles were beginning to tear.
“Kel.” I heard Sandra call fearfully.
“Don’t come close.” I said as I kept punching the bag.
“Kel please stop.” She said in a shaky voice.
“Your hands are bleeding.” She added and I stopped looking at my hand. They were actually bleeding.
Before I knew it she held me from behind hugging me.
“Sandra am sweaty.” I said breathing hard.
“I don’t care Kel.” She said in tears and I turned to look at her.
“I am sorry. I was just so angry at Diego. Had to release all the anger on the bag.” I said and she hugged me again.
“Don’t hurt yourself because of me Kel.” She said taking my hands in hers.
“It isn’t because of you Sandra. Am fine.” I said trying to withdraw my hand but she held onto it firmly.
“Where is the first aid kit?” She asked looking at me. I sighed knowing she would never give up.
“Over there.” I said pointing to the cabinet in the kitchen.
“Sit on the couch.” She said rushing to the kitchen to get it.
“Sandra this isn’t necessary. It happens.” I said looking at her.
“It happens but not where I am. I can’t see you keep bleeding that way.” She said cleaning her teary eyes with the back of her hand as she grabbed the first aid box.
She walked back to where I was and sat close to me. I kept my gaze on her face as she took my hand in hers.
“You are so irresistible.” I said and she rose up her head to look at me.
“What do you mean?” She asked cleaning my hand with some ointment and I clenched my jaws.
“You are beautiful.” I said and she Chuckled.
“Am not expecting to be beautiful to you. I don’t have the body you love.” She replied applying a plaster on my knuckles.
“That’s true.” I said and she looked at me.
“But I don’t care anymore.” I added and she looked away.
“You don’t?” She asked packing the first aid kit.
“I don’t. I don’t have the strength to stay away from you. And i don’t want you to be unsafe. I need you next to me.” I said and she sighed looking at me.
“Kel are you sure that isn’t pity. Maybe because of what is happening to me.” She said walking back to the kitchen.
“No Sandra. It’s love. I love you.” I said and she paused looking at me.
Her eyes were glittering as I saw tears gather in her eyes.
“I do love you Sandra. I don’t care about the body anymore. I want you, be mine Sandra. I promise to be here for you anytime.” I said staring at her.
She dropped the first aid kit on the floor and ran to me. I stood up and grabbed her by the waist hugging her tightly.
“I love you Kel.” She said and I felt more than joy in me.
“Can I call you my woman now?” I asked and she smiled looking at me.
“Yes.” She replied and I held her face in my hand.
“Can I?” I asked looking at her lips.
She smiled and moved her face to mine and kissed me on my lips. I moved my hand from her neck down to her waist.
She wrapped her hand around my neck deepening the kiss.
“Baby I am sweaty.” I said against her lips as she wrapped her arms around me.
“A shower?” She asked and I nodded.
“Yes.” I said and she smiled.
“Go on. I will be here.” She said and I nodded.
“I ordered pizza.” I said and to my surprise a knock came on the door.
“I will get it. Go ahead.” She said but I shook my head.
“Can’t let you answer the door for now. I will get it.” I said walking to the door.
I opened the door and I saw the Pizza man holding up the pizza box to me. He had a face cap on and his head was bowed.
He had gloves on. I ignored him and collected the pizza. As I collected it, I saw a part of his hand right where the glove stopped.
It was like his skin was peeled.
I was about to tell him to raise his head but he didn’t let me talk before talking.
“Enjoy the pizza.” He said and began to walk away.
“Kel what’s wrong?” Sandra asked walking to me.
“The Pizza Man is acting so weird. He didn’t let me see his face and his hand was burnt. He was in an haste too.” I said looking down the hallway though he was gone.
I turned to look at Sandra and I saw she was scared already.
“C’mon Sandra. Let’s go in. It’s nothing. I am just being very vigilant.” I said holding her hand into the room.
“I hope it’s nothing to worry about.” She said and I shook my head.
“It’s nothing to worry about Sandra. It’s just my own thoughts.” I said smiling and she nodded reluctantly.
