“Well, Olsen wants me to pick you up since he won’t be able to do so himself.” He said, putting much effort to avoid her finding out Olsen is dead.

“Olsen can never let you pick me up. After all, you two haven’t been on good terms lately.”

“Won’t doubt that. But you know, people change. We don’t always remain the same forever.”

“He killed my boyfriend.” This got Vincenzo hurt. He never knew she would even till this moment consider Dento her boyfriend, not forgetting to out the ‘ex”

“Well, Olsen came over and cleared his actions. I had to forgive him, after all, killing him won’t bring my cousin back. So, we’re cool now.”

Freya stared at him with doubts in her eyes. “I don’t believe you.”

“You don’t have to. Besides, we all mafias have bad records, we don’t let bygones be bygones. We kill for revenge, but don’t worry, not every one’s the same. People change often.”

“I still don’t trust you, Mr. I ain’t going any where with you if it isn’t Olsen who picks me up.” She insisted.

Vincenzo sighed. He knows it would be difficult to convince her, but on the other hand, telling her that Olsen is dead will only cause more harm than good.

“Look, Freya…” He sighed again, all she did was to look at him. “I don’t wanna break your heart but you’ve got to believe me, Olsen won’t make it today or tomorrow.”

“Why?”

“Because he isn’t in the state!” He said, a bit harsh.

Freya was still, not taking her eyes off him. “Still not leaving her without Olsen.”

He has to calm down if he does wanna get her out of the hospital. He won’t live with the fact that she’s all alone in a hospital, waiting for some one who will never show up.

“Fine, you stay here and wait for him. But if he doesn’t show up, it’s up to you.”

“Why do you hate him so much?”

“I don’t hate Olsen!” He took a deep breath to calm himself down from raising his voice at her since talking calmly was seeming more difficult than he expected. “I don’t hate Olsen, I can never hate him. You have to understand me, Olsen…” He looked her deep in the eyes, and he was able to see that part of her that spoke so much of emotions.

That part that once triggered will be difficult to heal. No, he can’t take the risk of hurting her more than she already is.

“I’ll explain every thing to you when I get you home, but for now, you need to get changed.” He said, sounding calm than ever. He was also surprised at how he sounded, he has never been this calm to any one.

“As you can see, my legs hurt, I can’t move.”

“Okay. I’ll call the nurse to help you with it.” He left the room to call a nurse, who didn’t hesitate to follow him to the room. He waited outside while he gave her the new cloth he bought for Freya.

She entered and not up to ten minutes, she was out. “She’s ready.”

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” She left.

Vincenzo took time before he entered the room, when he got in, he was surprised to see the clothes had fitted her perfectly. He was thinking it wouldn’t as he has no idea of her body size.

She was already sitting on the wheelchair provided for her. “Never knew the clothes would fit.”

“Thanks for it.” He wasn’t expecting she would appreciate it, but she ended up clearing his doubt. He was smiling that he didn’t realize he had wasted much of his time admiring her. “Will you take me home or will you keep standing over there?” She said, her voice bringing him back to reality.

He went behind her, taking hold of the two handles behind. Slowly. Gently, he pushed the wheelchair out of the room to his car downstairs. He went to open the door, then came back to carry her.

He looked at her, seeking her permission. Not like she had a choice, she let him carry her to the passenger seat. He drops her on the passenger seat, fixing her seatbelt.

He notices her eyes on him but he forces himself not to look at her. “I’ll get you home safely.” He said, shutting the door closed.

He walks to the driver side, hopping in.

“Don’t take me home if Olsen isn’t around.” She said, her voice cold and sincere.

He looked at her. “It doesn’t matter whether Olsen is around or not or…”

She cuts him sharply. “Just take any where far from home.” Vincenzo thought of where else to take her, but then he considered taking her to his place was better. But with Kelly around, there would be a consequence for it.

Nevertheless, it was her desire to stay away from home, bringing her to his home isn’t a bad idea after all. This was the point where Myra would be of great help to him especially when he isn’t around, he will have her keep a close eye on Freya for him.

When he got to his home, he waited to see what Freya’s expression would be. If his mansion would bring back past experiences. Freya didn’t say a word nor made any sign, she remained in the same position.

He exited the car, walking to the back side. He opened the door, taking her wheelchair out. After he had set it, he carried her out of the car, dropping her gently on the wheelchair. He drove her to the entrance door, making a pause since it was impossible to get the wheelchair rolling on the steps.

He carried her into his arms, then ordered one of his men to take the wheelchair. He didn’t bother dropping her until he was sure he had reached her new room. The maids were so excited to see Freya, their voices had attracted Kelly that she left her room to find out why they were making those noises.

But to her disappointment, not only had Vincenzo brought her greatest fear once again to the mansion, he had her in his arms.
