Let’s Be Truthful

The next morning, Kelly woke up to find herself alone on the bed. Vincenzo didn’t return home the previous night, which means he had spent the night with Freya in the hospital. Quickly, she took her phone and dialed her friend’s number since they were the only ones to talk to in situations like this.

“He has started again, guys. Enzo has left to stay with that bi+ch in the hospital.” She complained without a hello.

“Yeah, we watched the news yesterday night. I can’t believe Enzo will do such a thing. Has he returned yet?” Carol asked.

“Returned?” She scoffed. “If he has returned, why will I be nagging so early in the morning?”

“Okay. Okay, calm down. Did you later do what we advised you to do?” She asked.

“I did exactly what you guys said and it worked out. We even had s+x in his bathroom and we slept in each other’s arms, but then he said he was going to meet a friend in his warehouse and he’ll be back before night. I think he watched the video that’s why he didn’t show up as he promised.”

“He has discovered the one for his heart. Wo-ho!” Danielle screamed from the other side, not minding if Kelly heard her

“Dani what’s that supposed to mean?” Carol questioned, taking the phone away from her ear but Kelly could still hear their conversation.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” She repeated with a chuckle. “Well, the answer is boldly written to us. Vincenzo once loved Kelly and probably still loves her though, who knows. But then, on the other hand, he loves Freya. This time, it all went unexpectedly. You can’t blame him though, I mean I don’t blame him.”

“You know you aren’t helping matters. And you shouldn’t be saying this to your friend. No matter who Freya is to Vincenzo, Kelly is still the first in his life and shall always be the one for him.” Carol defended.

“You know, from the onset, I knew this would happen. I had the feeling that some how, Kelly was losing the game. And here we are, listening to another of her defeat, ready to come up with a new plan to get her to have Vincenzo back to herself.”

“Dani, for Christ sake, Kelly is hearing all these you are saying. Do you even care about her feelings? How does she feel after hearing this from the person she calls her best friend?”

“At least I’m being outspoken and truthful unlike you who knows the truth but prefers to keep it all to herself. Look Carol, for once let’s be truthful to ourselves. Like you said, Kelly is our best friend and as best friends we ought to tell each other the truth and not hide things just to please ourselves. Kelly, I know you can hear me.

My advice to you as a good friend is to give up on him. Forget he ever meant the world to you and move on. Probably, he might come back to you after he sees how important you are to him. But… if you feel dragging one man with another woman is the best thing to do, then it’s all up to you.” She concluded.

That was one thing about Danielle, she is the outspoken one among them. She doesn’t hide her feelings for any one, and she says her mind out not minding how it sounds to the ear. Carol on the other hand is the opposite.

She knows the truth, but scared of hurting those she loves, she hides it within herself, trying her best to watch them smile. She does know Danielle was right about every thing she said, but the pain to watch Kelly hurt was what bothered her.

“Kelly, don’t mind all Dani said, okay. We can still come up with a plan and get this done…”

Danielle rolled her eyes, it’s always Carol and the motivation quotes all the time.

“No, she is right. I’m losing my chances with Enzo and I can clearly see it. He does love me but some one else is stealing him away from me while the sun still shines. But nevertheless, I won’t stop. I forfeited my first love for a random bitch two years ago, I ain’t letting any woman take my second from me. And it’s either I die, or she dies.” She finalized, cutting the call.

Carol threw an angry glare at Danielle who felt unmoved at the way she looked at her. “Kelly is our friend, and no matter how hurtful the truth is, we shouldn’t have given it to her raw.”

“Giving it to her raw is the only way to make her understand, but it seems like nothing makes Kelly understand until she sees it knocking on her door.”

“That is why we have to help her rather than make things…”

Danielle faded up after hearing those words from Carol. For once she has always wanted Carol to be outspoken like she is. To forget what people will think or feel but speak the truth to them just the way it is. But no matter how much she tries to make her understand, Carol ends up remaining adamant.

“Enough of these friendships whatsoever you are talking about, Carol, and for one day in your life be yourself! Kelly deserves the best and not dragging a man with another woman who we both know will win Enzo’s love in the future. After all, Freya isn’t the one who asked for his love or attention, he is willing to offer it all to her. But then, coming to Kelly’s side, she is working so hard for it. What do you think?”

Carol was quiet.

“The one who is forcing the attention, or the one who has already gained the attention. And we both know that the one who has already gained the attention is the winner, why act like we don’t know? Look, no matter how much Kelly tries, one thing is for sure… Freya owns Vincenzo. PERIOD!”
