Between 2 Hearts – Episode 66

 The two couples had a wonderful dinner date together, filled with success and laughter. After they were done, they drove to the amusement park to continue the fun. As they walked through the park, they allowed their women to play on the swings while they walked a little away from them to talk.

“What happened at the dinner?” Alex asked.

“Well, I told them about us, and my mother wasn’t quite pleased with it, including your sister,” He replied,.

“Diva came too? You invited her?” Alex asked, surprised.

“No, my mom did,” Nathan said. “I had to open up about my true intentions to her, and she was hurt.”

“She’ll come around,” Alex said reassuringly. “It’s a good thing you told her how you truly feel about her.”

As they talked, they turned to look at their women, who were laughing and chatting on the swings. Their faces melted with admiration as they watched them.

“Can you try to be more careful with Diva at work?” Mia asked, her voice concerned. “She really despises us more.”

“I’ve always been avoiding her,”

“This is going to be tougher than I imagined,” Mia said. “The mothers and their fiancées don’t like us. Don’t you think we’re in trouble?”

“We’ve been in trouble since those men captured our hearts,” Naomi said with a smile. “So it’s hard to turn back now. We just have to remain strong for the people that truly love us.”

Mia smiled, and they both looked at each other with understanding.

“What are you two gossiping about?” Alex asked as they  walked up to them smiling.

“Nothing,” they said in unison, trying to keep a straight face.

The men moved behind their women and started pushing the swings firmly, sending them soaring high into the air. They were enjoying each other’s company as the fun continued, the sound of laughter and screams of excitement filling the air.

    Later in the day, the two men drove their women back home.

 “Did you have fun today?” Alex asked Naomi, his smile radiant.

“Yes, all thanks to you,” she replied, her eyes sparkling with delight, and they chuckled together.

“I don’t feel like letting you go tonight,” Nathan said to Mia, his voice low and husky, as their hands intertwined together.

“Will you be okay when you get home?”

“I won’t be going home for now,” Nathan replied.

“Where will you stay?” Mia asked.

“I have places to stay,” Nathan said. “I can lounge in a hotel room for days,” he added, his eyes never leaving hers.

“Why days, why not just tonight?” Mia asked  “Is it because of what happened at home?”

“Yeah, I really don’t want to have an argument with my mom,” he said. “But don’t let that worry you.”

“I’m sorry, this is my fault,” Mia said, sadly.

“Hey,” Nathan said, cupping her face and making her lock eyes with him. “I’ve told you before never to blame yourself for what happened. I’ll fix it, okay?”

He kissed her forehead, and some moments later, they came down and waved at their men as they drove off before going inside.

As they entered the room, they were met with a great shock to see their father lying unconscious on the ground.

 “Dad!!” they screamed in unison, their voices shrill with alarm.

Their eyes widened in horror as they took in the scene before them. Just as they were about to rush to him, two unknown men with masks came out, and they were shocked into silence.

“Hello, pretties, just right on time,” one of the guys said, his voice dripping with menace.

“Who are you guys?” Naomi asked, her voice firm as she shielded Mia from behind.

“We’re not here to harm anyone,” the other guy said, his voice cold. “We just need money. Your grandpa here was trying to be difficult, that’s why he’s like this.”

“Please, we don’t have money,” Mia said, her voice trembling.

“Hmm, that’s hard to believe,” the guy replied, his eyes narrowing. “We just saw you two getting down from that expensive car, and we’ve watched how the crown prince and the governor’s son have been coming in and out of this place. So, you can’t tell us there’s no money.”

The situation was becoming increasingly tense, and the girls exchanged worried glances. What were these men planning, and how would they get out of this situation?

  Along the driveway, Alex and Nathan parked their cars, but they couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was wrong. Alex came out of the car and moved to Nathan, who had also stepped out.

“I can feel something is wrong,” Nathan said.

“Me too,” Alex replied, his eyes scanning the surroundings.

“Let’s go back,” Nathan said, his voice firm, and they quickly entered their cars and made a U-turn, heading back to the ladies’ place.

Meanwhile, Naomi and Mia were still confronting the guys. “Please, this is the only money we have,” Naomi begged, holding out the little money in her bag.

“Okay, let’s do it this way,” one of the guys said, his eyes gleaming with malice. “If you two don’t have money for us, then we do exchange rate.”

“What do you mean?” Naomi asked, pushing back with Mia, her eyes wide with fear.

“You know exactly what we mean,” the guy replied, his voice dripping with lust. “Only a foolish guy sees a beautiful fruit in front of him and refuses to have a taste of it.”

The guys began to close in on them, their intentions clear. Naomi and Mia tried to back away, but the guys were too quick. Each of them grabbed the ladies from behind, covering their mouths to stifle their screams. Naomi and Mia struggled hard, trying to break free, but the guys held them in a tight grip.

Just as all hope seemed lost, Alex and Nathan arrived, their timely intervention saving the day. The guys fell to the ground, struck by a hard object. Naomi and Mia gasped as they saw Alex and Nathan standing behind the attackers.

Quickly, the ladies rushed into their men’s arms, tightly embracing them. Alex and Nathan held them close, their faces etched with relief and concern.

“It’s okay, we’ve got you,” Nathan whispered, holding Mia close. “You’re safe now.”

“We were so scared,” Naomi said, her voice muffled against Alex’s chest.

“We’re here now,” Alex replied, stroking her hair.

   

   After some minutes, Mr. Daniel was taken to his room after he regained consciousness. The doctor came to check on him and told them he was fine. Alex phoned the police, and they came and took the criminals away after asking the ladies some questions. It turned out they were guys who broke into people’s houses, stealing and raping girls.

“How are you feeling, Uncle?” Nathan asked.

“I’m fine,” Mr. Daniel replied. “I don’t know how to thank you guys enough. Thank you for coming on time to save my daughters.”

“It’s a pleasure,” Alex said. “It’s our responsibility to protect them.”

Mia excused herself out of the room, and Nathan noticed her pale look as she left. She seemed shaken.

She came to the kitchen to drink some water, taking a bottle from the fridge and pouring it into a glass. As she was about to take a sip, she felt a hand around her waist. She flinched in fear, and the glass cup fell from her hand, shattering into pieces on the floor. Nathan quickly turned her to himself and hugged her tight.

 “It’s me,” he said softly, stroking her hair to calm her down. Then, he pulled away slowly and cupped her face, while she held firm to his shirt. “Are you okay?” 

“I…I…” she sputtered, still trying to process what had just happened. Nathan placed his hand on her chest, feeling her heart beating rapidly.

“Mia, relax,” he said. “Your heart is beating fast. Look at me.” He lifted her chin, and their eyes interlocked. “Everything is fine now. You’re safe, okay?”

He smiled, and Mia let out a sigh. He placed his hand back on her chest and still felt the rapid beat.

“It’s still beating faster,” he said. Without another word, he carried her up to the dining room and made her sit on the table.

“Maybe this will help,” he said, cupping her face and claiming her lips softly. He caressed her body as he deepened the kiss, and Mia responded in the same sync, encircling her arms around his neck. 

Meanwhile, after Alex and Naomi left Mr. Daniel’s room, who had fallen asleep, they immediately entered their room. Alex pinned Naomi against the wall, encircling her waist and pulling her closer. Without waiting too much time, their lips collided softly, and they responded passionately in the same sync. Their bodies swaying to the rhythm of their beating hearts.
