Between 2 Hearts – Episode 62

   Two days later, Alex returned home after spending time at one of his father’s hotel companies. He entered the living room, where his family, including Elora, was seated.

“Alex,” Elora called out, rushing to hug him tightly, sniffing. Alex sighed and pulled away from her.

“Where have you been?” Queen Lala asked, frowning.

“He just got home, let him go in and take a shower first,” King Luke said, intervening.

“No, he has to tell me where he disappeared to for two days, leaving his fiancée all alone,” Queen Lala yelled.

“Mom, can we not do this right now,” Alex said, his voice tired.

“We are doing this right now! What has come over you? What has she done to you that you have to call off the engagement?” Queen Lala demanded.

“She did nothing wrong. It’s my choice, my decision. Have you ever considered what I truly want?” Alex replied, frustratedly.

“I am your mother! I know what’s best for you,” 

“No, Mom, you’re wrong. You don’t know what’s best for me. All you care about is yourself and yourself alone,” 

Before he could react, Queen Lala’s hand flew across his face, leaving a stinging slap. Elora and Diva looked on in shock.

“I am your mother, and you must listen to me!” 

“Lala, you’re going too far with this,” King Luke said, his voice firm.

“It’s all your fault. You’re the one advising him wrongly,” she snapped at her husband, her anger boiling over.

    “Son, go to your room and take a rest,” King Luke said, and Alex turned to leave. However, his mother’s words stopped him.

“Are you seeing someone else? Who is she?” she asked. Alex sighed and turned to her.

“You want to know…there is someone else,” he replied, fearlessly.

“Alex!” Elora yelled, her face contorted in shock and pain.

“Naomi?” Diva asked, her eyes wide with surprise. Alex remained quiet.

“You won’t dare, Alex. That girl is not coming into this family,” Queen Lala said, her voice firm and authoritative. Alex didn’t respond; instead, he turned and walked away to his room.

Elora fell to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably. Diva rushed to console her, trying to offer words of comfort.

“I can’t believe Alex chose that girl over me,” Elora sobbed, her body shaking with each cry.

King Luke rolled his eyes and walked away, trying to escape the drama unfolding before him. His wife followed behind, still nagging and arguing.

“Naomi has crossed the line this time,” Diva said, angrily.

   The next day, Nathan was having breakfast with his family. 

“I’m having a special guest over for the weekend,” Nathan announced.

“Really, son? Who is it? Is it Diva? It’s been so long since I’ve seen her,” Mrs. Adam said, excitedly.

“She’s not the special guest I’m bringing over, Mom,” Nathan said . His mother looked confused.

“Who then?” she asked, curiously.

“You ask too much, dear,  it’s a special guest. Let’s wait and see who it is,” Mr. Adam said, chuckling.

“We can’t wait to see who this special guest is,” Anna said, excitedly.

“Alright then, see you guys later,” Nathan said, standing up and grabbing his briefcase. He walked away, leaving his family to speculate about his special guest.

Meanwhile, Alex came out of his room, dressed and ready to leave. He walked down the staircase to see his family having breakfast.

“Good morning, everyone,” he said, heading towards the exit door.

“Son, aren’t you joining us for breakfast?” Queen Lala asked.

“No, Mom,” Alex replied without looking back.

“Let me join you,” Diva said, standing up.

“There’s no need. My car is filled up,” he said, and walked away without waiting to hear from Diva.

“You have your own car. Why don’t you drive yourself to work?” King Luke asked, looking at Diva with a raised eyebrow.

    At the bus station, Naomi and Mia were waiting with some other passengers for the bus. Not too long after, the bus arrived, and everyone started rushing in. Naomi and Mia waited for everyone to enter, knowing there were enough seats for everyone.

Just as they were about to step in, a car horn sounded behind them. They turned to see Nathan’s car. The bus driver noticed they weren’t getting on and drove off. Nathan pulled up closer to them and rolled down the window.

“Hey, ladies,” he said, smiling. “Come on, get in. I’ll drop you off,” he offered, and they hesitated. “If you don’t get in, I’ll drag you in myself,” he said, jokingly referring to Mia.

 Mia rushed to get into the backseat, and Nathan ordered her to move to the front seat. She reluctantly complied.

Just then, Alex’s car drove in front of Nathan’s, and he honked the horn for Naomi to come over. Nathan smirked and rolled down the back window.

“I guess your boyfriend is here to take you to work,” he said, and rolled up the window. He drove towards Alex, rolled down his window, and they exchanged pleasantries before he drove off.

Alex drove back to where Naomi was standing. He got out and opened the front door for her. She hesitated, aware of the curious glances from passersby.

“Shall we?” he said, smiling at her. Naomi turned to move away, but he quickly grabbed her hand, pulling her close. “If you don’t get in, I’ll kiss you in front of everyone here,” he smirked, and Naomi gulped. She quickly got into the car, and Alex smiled, following her in. They drove off.

    Along the driveway, Nathan’s hand was intertwined with Mia’s, while he drove with one hand. Mia tried to release her hand from his, but he refused, instead kissing it.

“Can you let go of my hand now? We’re almost close to the company,” She said.

“No, this is the only chance I get to hold hands with you,” He replied, kissing her hand again. Mia sighed tiredly.

They arrived at the company, and one of the security guards directed Nathan’s car to his personal garage. Due to the thick tinted windows, no one would know who was inside.

After the car was parked, the security guard left. Mia observed the surroundings and noticed that if she came out of the car, no one would see her. She took off her seatbelt and tried to leave, but Nathan quickly stopped her.

Before she could react, he turned her face to his, and his lips collided softly with hers. Mia was taken aback by his sudden action, and she blinked several times before responding. Nathan deepened the kiss, and for a moment, they were lost in their own little world.

After about a minute, Nathan pulled away slowly and caressed Mia’s face as their eyes interlocked, both of them gasping for air.

“I have to go,” she said, smiling.

“Sure, I’ll see you later,” He replied, kissing her forehead.

Mia got out of the car and walked away, smiling to herself. 

  

   Meanwhile, Alex and Naomi drove to the company, and he pulled into his personal garage. Naomi observed the surroundings, saw it was clear, and quickly took off her seatbelt, trying to leave. But Alex stopped her.

“Hold on,” he said, getting out of the car and moving to her side. He opened the door for her to get out, and she hesitated, feeling nervous. “Aren’t you coming down anymore?” 

“Um, just give me a minute,” she replied, taking in the surroundings. 

She quickly got out of the car, and Alex smirked, rolling his eyes.

Naomi moved forward, creating distance between them as Alex walked behind her. The few people already at the company bowed to Alex as he entered, and he responded with a smile, continuing to follow Naomi.

When they arrived at the elevator, it was just the two of them standing there. The elevator doors opened, and they stepped in. Alex pressed the button, and the doors closed.

Suddenly, Naomi was taken by surprise as Alex pinned her to the wall. Before she could react, his lips collided softly with hers. His hands moved down from her hands to her waist, pulling her closer as he started devouring her lips.

She responded to his kisses, her hands wrapped around his hair. The atmosphere was tense, but slowly they pulled away from each other. Alex kissed her cheek.

“This will keep me going for the morning,” he said, smiling, and caressed her face. “Don’t get too stressed up. I’ll see you during lunch, okay?” he said, and Naomi nodded.

The elevator stopped, and he adjusted his suit, stepping outside. The doors closed, and Naomi smiled to herself, unable to forget the elevator kiss.
