Skylar felt herself trampling over her own existence as if on a mandated suicide attempt. The shocked sounds from her teammates formed a haze in her head. Thinking straight became impossible as she stared at him.

Her mind shattered, and some fragments of it went to Aftermoor—to when she was stabbing him.

He didn’t make any attempt to save himself. He didn’t try to stop her or say words of mockery.

El Crow would have struggled even with the tiniest strip of life he had left. El Crow would have tried to shove her weight away.

He would have said his usual habitually wicked words and shoved his hate down her throat even at his last moment, but he did none.

He only laid down and took it like he planned it.

Yeah, planned it.

It looked like he expected the stab, and his silence was his mockery.

Inferno said they had to stab opponents on the heart to kill them, and she definitely stabbed his left chest where the heart was supposed to be. She drove all the knife in and even twisted the blade.

Unless his heart wasn’t on that left side of his chest.

Her palm felt hot on top of the railings she rested it on.

Her sea of consciousness was stirred when the screams from Enigmas got louder. Her eyes went up.

Now, Arturo was grinning jestingly at Satan. Satan could only stare at him with a screwed mouth.

Even Midnight locked locked in place behind her.

“How does the sting of disappointment taste, Satan?” Arturo threw another loud laughter like cutlery slamming on porcelain.

Castle chuckled, relieved that the weight of the secret had been offloaded from his chest.

He expected El Crow to take weeks before showing, but here he was, shocking everyone.

Nearly all Enigmas were out of the balcony now, stepping on the park where El Crow stood. They surrounded him, still screaming.

In their middle, El Crow stood like a villain, but his eyes were still on Skylar on Dread House balcony.

His gaze equaled strangulation.

Now, the hatred in his eyes elevated. There’s always hatred multiplication for both of them after every fight, but this was much more than the usuals.

This bitch though she could kill him, and the most disrespectful part was that she thought he really died by her hands. Died without showing a blade up her arsehole? Not happening.

Satan and Midnight proceeded back into Dread House, and the Dread team felt paralyzed in the mouth.

One of them quickly turned off the LED banner on top of the building.

Skylar left the balcony, went to the park. She got on her sleek power bike, strapped her helmet on and rode off madly, splashing water from a little pothole on the driveway.

Roselle clutched her fingers together, nails biting into her skin.

She had to pretend to be sour too just like her teammates, but inside, she’s the happiest here.

El Crow came back!

The face she loves seeing is back.

The king of her heart is here.

“There’s a meeting now at Multi Sector.” Roy announced suddenly.

He left the balcony first before the rest of the Dreads began following him behind one by one.

Two minutes later after everyone already left for M Sector, Roselle was the only remaining one at the balcony. She still stood there, staring at the jubilating Enigmas.

At El Crow.

“All Dreads, step into Multi Sector, now!” The announcement came from the general voice address system.

Roselle finally moved.

—

“Welcome back, Stitchmouth.” Bishop gave El Crow a arm swat.

“This still feels dreamy, I swear.” Blade added, smiling.

“Normally, this Team wouldn’t function without me.” El Crow sat on his car bonnet, bottom lip between his teeth, slightly.

“Don’t be arrogant about it, I’m still here.” Castle commented.

“You got just four medals, Castle. I’ve got fifteen, the sixteenth is coming soon at the tournament.” El Crow tilted his head to the side.

“You’re shoving it at my face now?” Castle rolled his eyes.

“You started it, cyclops.” El Crow responded with a demeaning stare.

“Dreads are probably cursing themselves out at their M Sector right now.” Kent laughed.

“I know, right?” Lovato laughed with him. “I can’t wait for the next match.”

“Rest for today, and party all you want,” Arturo stepped into the circle. “The Matchmaker will pick and announce Enigmas who’ll be entering the ring tommorow. Mind you, an important visitor will be coming to witness the match.” He finalized.

“Tomorrow is the next match?” Lovato asked with a gasp.

“You have a problem with that? Little One?” El Crow chirped.

Lovato raised her shoulders at him, and he smirked away.

“But we have all day to rest and drink?” Blade asked.

“All day.” Arturo nodded.

“Then let’s drink!” Bishop smiled. “While Dreads spends their time regretting in their M Sector, we’ll spend ours drinking at our X Point.”

A supportive howl followed from Enigmas as they rushed back into the house in excitement.

El Crow was the last to leave.

He jumped down his car bonnet, running his eyes through Dread House park. Skylar’s bike is gone.

She’s probably riding on the road and cursing herself right now.

And it’s only the start of her torment from him.

“Aren’t you gonna join the others for fun at X Point?” Arturo asked.

“Tommorow, I wanna be in the ring.” El Crow deadpanned.

Arturo’s brows dipped.

“I told the Matchmaker to exclude you from the Enigmas that’ll be entering the ring tommorow to represent us. You just woke up from the dead, you need rest, El.”

“I rest whenever I say it.” El Crow shifted closer, his bulging chest nearly slamming on Arturo’s. “I need to be in the ring. Make it happen.”

Arturo’s bones relaxed as he let his head fall in a nod.

“Consider it done.”

—

[Streets of New Orleans]

Rain clouds were starting to gather again. Another downpour was threatening to leak out the sky.

The breeze turned colder, but the city news was getting hotter. News of El Crow’s comeback.

As Skylar drove her bike through the bustling streets, she could see the street rogues tearing their remaining posters of El Crow away from the wall. He’s awake now, no need for the posters anymore. He’s back.

El Crow and Skylar and Roselle might be popular fighters, but there were levels to it.

Apart from being a maddening fighter and powerful fucker, El Crow was also Arturo’s only son.

Apart from being a good ring beater, Roselle was also Satan’s daughter.

But Skylar was just Skylar. Nothing else but her talent to show. On the tongues of the people, El Crow and Roselle’s names would come before hers. Expensive gamblers and bettors would gamble and bet on them before they’d even reach her name.

She was a lone wolf, and this city ain’t even her city.

Not like she knew where she was taken from. She just grew up to meet herself here, but Satan would constantly remind her of how she was just a experimental specimen, so she knew she never belonged here.

But to survive, she had to do what she had to do—win every fight and impress Satan and Midnight.

And the comeback of El Crow would definitely spell doom for her.

She could feel it.

She stepped on her bike gas, driving with an hand. She used her second hand to peel away her top.

No bra under her singlet. She had always hated how bras made her uncomfortable.

She threw the top off, and now in her lace singlet and joggers, she drove through the road like a bird.

Her dark tattoos glinted under the darkening sky.

A thick king Cobra sat at the back of her neck, and several twisted knots spread from her shoulders to her lower back like vipers.

On her cleavage, sat a faint red birthmark, shaped like a fox.

Like this, she looked like a venomous rebellion, one that’d ruin the world and sleep peacefully in the middle of the beautiful chaos.

The rain started as predicted, and the road turned slick, but that only made her race increase, crazier.

El Crow is back.

El Crow is back.

He shouldn’t be back.

Those were the array of sentences running in her skull as the handlebars became slippery.

Then, her phone began ringing in her pocket. She kept driving.

She didn’t have to do guesswork. She knew it was Satan calling.

The first ring died, then the second ring flared to life immediately.

She stopped the bike in the pouring rain, and she picked the call.

The phone pressed her ear, hard.

“Get back to Dread House, now, Skylar. You’ve got ten minutes.”

—

[Dread House – Multi Sector]

M Sector served as a celebratory hall whenever something worth celebrating happened in the team.

It also served as the dinning area.

At the same time, it served as a pondering hall whenever something worth discussing happened.

A multi-purpose Sector.

After the comeback pulled by El Crow, a discussion was inevitable. They all looked tensed as they awaited the talk.

Some sat, some stood, and some squatted, but everyone saw the high center where Roy stood.

“Y’all are imbecilic unprofessionals.” He started in his dey tone. “El Crow arrived like a damn barbarian, and y’all were staring like you hadn’t seen him before? He’s El Crow, of course he likes foolish stunts!”

“If you call that stunt foolish, then you’re foolish too!” Roselle spranged up. “He was announced dead last night, and we partied about it, but he came back this morning like a king, and you expected us to act like it was fucking nothing?”

Roy looked like he wanted to respond to Roselle after that statement, but at the same time he looked like something was holding him back.

Respect? Intimidation?

It wasn’t clear, but he just couldn’t respond to Roselle.

“Did you just say we partied about it?” Rosita spoke up from her seat. She looked like a snake as she spewed the words, directly at Roselle. “I’m hoping the WE didn’t include you, cos you couldn’t even sleep last night….”

Her eyes shifted to Roselle.

“It’s as if you were mourning his death rather than rejoicing.”

“Mourning who?” Roselle slammed the table, standing. “No one hates Skylar than me in this team, likewise how no one hates El Crow more than I do! How dare you accuse me of mourning that bastard!”

“Calm down, sheeh.” Rosita smiled trickily. “That was a joke. You can’t take a joke? Huh? Twin?”

“Don’t talk to me!!” Roselle shot.

“What should be the issue right now is tommorow’s match!” Renee got up.

“Sit down, Renee.” Roy glared. “Top Tiers are talking here, why is a middle tier like you interfering?”

“Why can’t she interfere?” Quincy stood defensively to Roy.

“Of course you’d get on your feet to support your lowly little sister.” Roselle said. “Since you both got here two years ago, you’ve remained Middle tiers while your mates have climbed their ways to the top.”

“Don’t talk to me and my brother like that, Roselle!” Renee snapped.

Roselle picked the fairly-hot cup of coffee on the table.

No one saw it coming.

She dumped everything on Renee’s face without leaving a drop.

Electric shocks slammed into Renee’s bloodstream from the heat of the liquid.”My face!!” She screamed, dancing around like a worm.

“Renee!” Quincy grabbed her, holding her in place. “Renee, calm down!”

“Check my face for me!” She shouted.

“It didn’t peel, it’s only red. I guess the coffee wasn’t hot.” He explained.

Renee calmed, and together with Quincy, they faced the crowd of Dreads who’re staring at them.

No one could talk or do a thing.

Roselle was the Boss’s daughter, and the power was hers. She now stood on the center with Roy.

Rosita remained seated. No smile on her face, but she’s totally enjoying this chaos—her best food.

Roy was smiling crazily and staring at Roselle with murky eyes.

“Get the Matchmaker informed,” Roselle waved an arm. “Tomorrow, Skylar will be entering the fighting ring to represent this team.”

Another smile circled her lips when she reminisced about the Aftermoor rule that if you failed to kill your opponent completely, you’d suffer brutal heartache in this world.

Skylar is doomed.

With heartache in the ring tommorow, she was bound to lose.

Roselle crossed her arms.

She didn’t care if Skylar’s loss meant this team’s loss. All she cared about was the punishment that’d come for Skylar after the loss.

—

[Enigma House – X Point]

Glasses clinking, bottles dropping, cheers echoing, laughter mingling. It was the routine here as the jubilation flowed hard through the day.

Enigmas were mostly in unison. No quarrelling, resentments or grudges.

In the team, everyone had their own gang, but El Crow’s gang was the most powerful. They refused to take anyone else besides the six.

Their table for six sat in the middle of the X Point, and while El Crow sat at the head of the table, the rest of them sat around the table.

Blade and the Kent on the right side.

On the left, Lovato sat in the middle of Castle and Bishop.

They grilled beef, ate and washed it down with alcohol.

“You’re telling me Senior Castle knew about Crow being alive, but he was mourning with us last night?” Blade pointed his chopsticks at him.

“I received orders from El Crow himself to not tell.” Castle said. “Even Boss Arturo supported it.”

“I knew you’d mention Boss Arturo.” Bishop murmured.

“He’s like Boss Arturo’s tail.” Kent giggled, turning the beef on the grill.

“It’s not my fault Boss Arturo likes my presence.” Castle shrugged.

“Boss Arturo needs to make you his underboss at this point so you can be on a level with Midnight of Team Dread.” Lovato said.

“Impossible!” Castle rejected. “I heard Midnight had been with Satan since day one, but I arrived at this team just two years ago. I only got lucky to be noticed by Boss Arturo, and I’m fine with being his tail.”

“You’re so simple-minded, Senior Castle.” Lovato whined, placing her baby-like designed phone on the table so she could eat well.

She took a cup of alcohol, but Bishop took it from her immediately.

“Last time you got drunk, you crawled to your room and refused to let anyone carry you.” He reminded, dropping the cup far away from her.

“But I promise to not drink too much today,” She disagreed, taking another cup—a bigger cup.

This time, it was Castle who took it from her and dropped it.

“You can’t drink again, Vato.”

Lovato nodded obediently, taking a cup of water to drink.

Bishop shoved a big chunk of meat into his mouth directly from the grill. It burned his tongue, but he still chewed slowly.

“Why the fuck have you been silent, Crow?” Blade suddenly asked.

All eyes shifted to El Crow at the table head. He sat there, looking bored.

“I can literally count the number of words you’ve said.” Kent added.

“I’m scheduling all talks for tommorow after the match.” El Crow leaned forward, elbows on the table as he took a huge bite from his specially baked cookie.

While everyone ate beef from the grill and drank alcohol, he ate cookies, and he’s now wearing a black singlet on his jean pants.

“How is tommorow’s match special?” Castle scoffed strictly. “If you and Skylar enter the ring again, it’ll end in another draw. You both have never won each other, that’s why you have the same number of medals.”

“Tommorow won’t be the same.” El Crow’s eyes glitched, the expression so intentionally micro.

He shook cookies crumbs off his thumbs back to the round plate.

“What do you mean?” Blade and Kent chorused.

Before El Crow could reply, two females walked up to that table.

They wore mini leather skirts and bra tops, leaving nothing to the imagination.

“New c+k suckers?” El Crow looked up with curved brows.

“Yes, sir.” They echoed, chewing gum seductively.

“We were told you get to use the c+k suckers first before the other team members.” The thick one said.

“And we’re ready at your service, sir.” The slim one rolled her bubble gum around her pointer finger.

For the betterment of everyone, the team management provides c+k suckers and p+sy eaters before every game for the use of teammates.

Arturo believes s+ual satisfaction is a key factor to excellent performance.

“I don’t want my c+k sucked,” El Crow shifted on his seat, and his hips rocked, letting his bulge show. “I want doggy by my room window.” El he talked to the slim one, throwing his room card at her.

“Go get clean, and spread your arse down beside my bedroom window. You’re not allowed to touch anything before I arrive. Touch, and you’ll be getting killed instead of getting fucked.” He warned casually.

“I understand, sir.” She gave him a excited wink before rushing out of the X Point, heels singing.

“Come here,” Kent undid his belt, and the thick slut ran to him.

Right there, she got on her knees, and Kent’s c+k slid into her mouth under the table, gagging her.

“Uhrg!” Kent scratched the table with his nails, digging out wood.

“You’re a nasty one.” Castle took his bottle of alcohol and left.

Lovato quickly took her phone and made to follow him.

“Vato!” Bishop stood abruptly.

“Yes?” She turned back.

“I need to show you something.” He took her by the wrist.

Lovato’s eyes shone.

“What’s the something? Tell me now!” She quipped as she followed him.

Now it’s just El Crow, Blade and Kent left on that table.

While Kent moaned like a whore as he got sucked, Blade clicked away attentively on his phone.

El Crow got up, eating his last piece of cookie as he made his way out.

“After the match tommorow, we go horse riding at the ranch.” He proposed, raising two fingers from his left hand before stepping away.

Blade looked up from his phone, glancing at Kent. “Looks like we have to really look forward to a change and shock in tommorow’s match.”

“You’re not more anxious than I am, a..ahh!” Kent moaned, spilling his c”m down the throat of the whore.

—

[El Crow’s Room]

The king-size bed was draped in smooth red and white bedsheets, and the bed was elevated so much one child would need a ladder to climb.

It literally floated in the middle of the room like a large kite, and the room itself was a spacious world with lush furnishings and drapes.

The walls looked whiter than snow, painted white along with the other parts of the room. The floors had red rugs….as if red and white was his absolute color.

A large bedside table floated along with the bed, and on top of it lay a pair of scissors and a box of matches.

There’s an adjoining door which looked like the closet, and a shelf that contained his medals.

Fifteen of them. Different sizes and colours, won from his efforts.

A fireplace burned gently below a mantle at the corner of the room, restrained by a large pane of glass, and flowers of different species blossomed from different porcelain pots close to the window.

By that window, the slim whore stood, naked like she was ordered to be. She leaned her elbows on the windowsill, bending over it and shooting her arse to the back.

Her surgically wide cl”t peeked out from between her legs, and her b””bs pressed the cold sill.

She was still chewing the gum when the door opened and let El Crow inside. He didn’t wait before flipping his belt apart from the hook.

“Spit out the gum.”

He didn’t have to say more.

She spat the gum in her mouth away. He took it and slapped it to her lips, gumming the two together.

She shivered.

His length slapped against her inner thighs, so promising and warm, but he didn’t slide in just yet.

His eyes darted across his window—to Dread House.

Skylar’s Suite bedroom window was just across his own, but her window was currently closed.

She must be still be out.

With one merciless thrust, he buried himself inside the whore’s arse.

“Ahhhh!!!” Her scream tore the bubble gum on her lips away.

—

[Dread House – Skylar’s Suite]

Skylar’s helmet sat on the small stool by her door immediately she stepped into the room.

Her net singlet and joggers were dripping wet, but despite the water, she entered her bedroom.

Her bedroom wasn’t exactly organized, but at the same time it wasn’t disorganized.

Just in-between.

Black sheets spilled over the wide bed, floors were brown like the walls and the rest of the house.

Her shoe rack, wardrobe, and full mirror were all in the room with her. There’s a closet, but she hated the idea of having to enter another room for dressing up sake.

She dried herself up with a towel and swallowed two secret pills from a unlabelled pill bottle.

She eventually changed her clothes and threw on a loose jacket.

She was ready to go to Satan’s office when familiar sounds stopped her from her bedroom window.

She took three long steps to the window and pushed it open to meet the exact scene she expected.

El Crow, screwing a whore by his window again.

Because their windows were opposite each other from each House, he liked provoking her by doing this. Fucking whores and making them moan to her hearing especially at night.

He disturbed her sleep so many times with this bullshit, and the intentionality behind it has become so disgusting she has plans to rip off the thing between his legs before she’d kill him when the time comes.

She can’t stand this ugly Stitchmouth.

El Crow looked up from the whore’s body, and his eyes met with Skylar’s.

No peace. No light.

Nothing but darkness and disgust as their eyes wagered, and El Crow’s lip bent into that unnerving form.

He drove faster into the hole.

“Please slow down!!” She cried. “Sir, slow down!!! This is too much.”

Another thrust.

“Mmmm!!!!!!” She shrieked.

Skylar threw her window shut, deciding to face what was in front of her first, but getting back to her living room, she met the cleaning woman entering already.

The cleaning woman of Dread House was a blind woman, but at the same time, the best cleaner existing.

“Boss’s office calls you, Skylar.” She reported with a straight face.

“Off to the office.” Skylar responded, walking out with the woman.

—

[Boss’s Office]

The office looked like the typical office of a queenpin with the swivel chair and a polished desk stacked with papers and a laptop, then the walls lined with framed arts.

But the framed arts on the wall were all the same—the painting of a male in black and white.

Every frame contained it.

At the corner of the office, a small bird cage hung by the wall. Satan stood beside it, carrying a bowl of grains which she kept sprinkling in the cage, feeding the bird.

Behind her, stood Midnight whose whole sight was on the bird too.

“He was so happy when he bought this bird.” Satan talked, taking her gaze away from the bird for a second.

She glanced at her wristwatch as if regurgitating a memory.

“I still remember how he ate and drank with this bird everyday.” Midnight smiled ominously behind.

The office lights flickered, and Skylar entered, steps slow.

“I stabbed him on the heart like we were instructed at Inferno. Him being alive isn’t my fault! I killed him, there must be a mistake somewhere!”

“You have disgraced the Team, Skylar.” Satan said, returning to feeding the caged bird.

She didn’t spare Skylar a look.

“You assured us he was dead, said you killed him, so I pronounced celebration for the whole team, but he returned like he never left. Arturo is probably drinking to it right now.”

“The problem is definitely from Aftermoor.” Skylar’s palms rounded tight. “I’ve never failed this team!”

“But now you did!” Midnight snarled angrily. “Be quiet!”

“If killing El Crow directly is really what this team desires, then say it! I didn’t succeed in Aftermoor, I’ll succeed in treal life!” Skylar spat, voice rising and fury swelling.

“Of course you’ll kill him.” Satan finally turned, dropping the grain bowl. “At the match tommorow in the ring, you’re killing him to pay for disgracing this team, and to teach Arturo a lesson that I’m never to be mocked by anybody.”

She looked up.

“But tonight, you’ll be spending the night in the Asylum to reflect on your actions till tommorow morning.”

“Armies of Dread!” Midnight summoned, and three giant men entered the office.

One of them snapped handcuffs around Skylar’s wrist, second one took her by the right shoulder, and third by her left shoulder.

But Skylar shook their hands off herself with a bossy snarl.

“I can walk by myself!”

She sent smoldering stares to Satan and Midnight, and her teeth clenched as she was led away.

The three Armies walked by her sides, and she in the middle, her cuffed wrists in front of her.

She got out of the office hallway same time Dreads were coming out of Multi Sector, and the over thirty Dreads stopped to have a look at her.

Merely seeing her handcuffs, they knew what it meant.

“Look who got herself a night out in the Asylum. How cute.” Roselle muttered, her smile acidic.

Dread Asylum wasn’t like the mad people asylum. It’s a room made of complete ice at the end of this House.

If you spent a night in there and luckily got out without dying of hypothermia, you’d never remain the same again for life.

As Skylar took the first step out of the hall door with the Armies, she felt nothing out of the ordinary, but as soon as she took the second step…

Her heart slammed hard as if a large wet brick had fallen on her chest.

She grabbed her chest tight.

TBC.
