Jude and Yalda ran in after they finished their surveillance outside too, and when they saw what had happened inside, they halted.

Another wave of shock slapped them right in the face.

Tobias still stayed on one knee where he was, staring at the maid who just died like her dead body would spit out answers for him.

But behind his focused, trembling lashes, he could make out the only thing that made sense here.

The bodies.

They aren’t bodies of people he knew. They aren’t bodies of Odds.

Only the dead maids belong here. The rest of the bodies? None of them belong to Odds at all.

He got up, bones creaking under his flesh. Only him could hear.

“They aren’t Odd s!” Yalda said breathlessly.

“Could Odds have gone in chase of the perpetrators?” Jude said.

“The surveillance room.” Tobias said without waiting, and they all rushed to the lift, riding up to the room.

There, they met a bleeding Odd—the most brilliant handler.

He sat behind a system, clutching his stomach with an hand, grunting.

Relief showed in his eyes when he saw Tobias, he stood weakly.

“Wrath…” His words were weak too, and his legs skipped the floor.

His knees pushed forward to a fall, but Tobias quickly rushed to catch him by the arms.

“Zaine,” he called his name.

“We…we were ratted out. There’s… there’s a rat among the handlers…. he’s…from Atlanta too, just like Migos… he’s… he’s…”

“Are you talking about Perez?” Yalda said impatiently behind.

Zaine nodded, blood shooting out of his stomach.

“Get a clothe!” Tobias snapped.

Jude quickly took off the shirt he’s wearing. He gave it to Tobias, and Tobias tied it around Zaine’s stomach.

“Exact…ly..” Zaine nodded. “It’s Perez. That bastard must have been in love with Migos, and he got mad when you killed him, so he became a dog for the enemy. We fought hard, Wrath, we really fought…you know we got you anytime, but…when it’s an inside job, it’s hard….”

He coughed blood again.

“First Lady fought so hard too even with the fact that she wore a swimsuit only. I was shocked, but they took her in the end. Saint tried to protect her like the rest of us, but they took him too. I think Perez messed with the walls, so we didn’t get a signal when Serpents of Valhalla were coming…” He continued.

“They killed the maids, but we killed many of the Serpents… their bodies littered the Oddsion right now. Odds went in a hot chase after them, and I tried to follow them in the chase too, but Estelle locked me here with my wound, saying I’d die if I fought with my wound, so I’ve been here…”

“Where’s the full footage?” Tobias asked, more impatient.

The story he just heard made his flesh cook inside of him. He could smell his own anger.

The rage and fury.

“That system!” Zaine pointed.

Jude took Zaine out for proper treatment while Tobias tapped the main surveillance video.

Yalda stood behind him, and as the video began, they watched together.

“We should eat together, don’t you think?” Saint went after her.

“SarahNina!”

But Seraphina didn’t stop. Immediately the lift halted at Tobias’s floor, she rushed into his room, not wanting to interact with Saint.

She backed the door.

“F+k,” She muttered.

After listening to the solitude behind the door for few minutes, knowing Saint is never coming back, she left the door and fell in bed.

Needless to say, she missed this bed. She rolled around it, bunching the duvet over her own face, hugging it to her chest and inhaling him.

She’s in love!

She threw her legs in the air, lathering her own happiness as she rolled right to left again.

“I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Tobias.”

“I love you like a creep, Wrath.”

“I can’t wait for the swim session!”

She rubbed her belly.

“Can’t wait to carry your baby.”

She sat up, blinking.

“Wedding comes before that part. I can’t wait to walk down the aisle with you, Tobias. I’ll be a St. Graves because of you, alone. I can’t wait to be your wife, but I’ll enjoy this girlfriend moment so much!”

She hugged the pillow too, resting her chin on top of it.

“Wonder if our kids will have his chin dimple and height and beautiful eyes too, and our female kids will have my curves and face!”

She giggled, folding her toes as the joy seemed to be limitless.

She can’t contain it, can’t even lay down anymore.

She took her phone to punch him a text, but she stopped herself quickly.

He went to the precinct to prove his innocence and shit, so it’ll be senseless to disturb him now.

She’s just gonna wait for him to comeback to her.

But is it weird that she misses her boyfriend already?

She smiled to herself.

Boyfriend.

She never thought she’d be someone’s true girlfriend, or claim someone rightly as her boyfriend.

Her man.

But it’s happening.

She dropped the pillow and stripped herself fast, rushing into the bathroom in her towel only.

She drowned herself in the tub, washed herself clean and even washed her hair since she’ll be entering the pool later.

She emerged after few minutes and dried herself, wearing the blue swimsuit she found in his closet.

He must have been preparing for today for long.

The swimsuit hugged her so tight she could feel the tiny thong ropes inside her p$ssy and asshole.

She’s practically naked, so she wore a long jacket to cover up before she came out of the room.

As she walked towards the lift, she changed his name on her phone.

From Sugar Daddy to…

Love of My Fucking Life with so many hearts like she’s selling them.

Again, the urge to call him took her, and she nearly dialled him, but she stopped herself and inserted the phone into her jacket pocket.

The lift got to another floor, and she met an Odd waiting below it.

He stepped aside for her though, then he bowed slightly.

“Goodevening, Wrathress.”

“Everyone’s calling me that now?” Seraphina smiled cutely.

“Of course!” The guy smiled.

Seraphina’s smile disappeared immediately, cos she mightn’t be a seer, but she knows a smile that’s not genuine. This one’s creepy.

“Perez!” Another Odd hollered at him from the top of the lift.

“What’s up, Zaine!” Perez hollered back, giving Seraphina another creepy smile before getting on the lift to go meet Zaine.

Immediately they went out of sight, Saint came to sight.

“Yo! Wrathress! First Lady! Black Flower!” He grinned. “I’ve lost count of how many names you have.”

“Black Flower?” She nudged him.

“Yeah!” He blinked. “Since he’s Rose, you’ll be his Flower!”

“Shit, you talk too much…” She shook her head, moving.

“Where you going?” He followed her immediately.

“To the kitchen, I need a cucumber.” She responded.

“Why the f+k would you go to the kitchen for a cucumber when you can just send any of the Odds?” He blocked her. “You have the obsidian eye necklace around your neck, use your authority, First Lady.”

“I just wanna take a walk, ok? Before my boyfriend comes back..” Seraphina crossed her arms.

“Ohhh….” Saint laughed. “Oh I love this! Boyfriend? This is lit!”

“What exactly do you want from me?” Seraphina pushed him off.

“You’re my brother’s girlfriend, we should be close so I can tell you things. See, I’ve closed on making friends for the year, but I’ll give you a chance…” He followed her again. “Toby likes cakes, in case you dunno. Tiramisu in particular.”

Seraphina stopped, gasping.

“He does? I do too! In fact, it’s my favorite dessert!”

“See? We’re getting along!” Saint walked side by side with her.

“Maybe,” she gave him a sideeye. “Tell me more about him.”

“First, tell me all you know about Bexley Hart—your best friend’s sister.” He shrugged.

Seraphina laughed.

“So…this is trade by barter? You’re into Bexley?”

“I’m not exactly into her,” he scratched the back of his neck. “Let’s just say I’m curious.”

“Of course,” she rolled eyes as they entered the kitchen together.

So many Odds are there, and they immediately gave her bows.

“Mrs. St. Graves!” One of them shouted.

“Mrs. St. Graves!” Another shouted.

Seraphina began blushing again, looking at Saint.

“Mrs. St. Graves…” He winked.

She slapped his arm, and he laughed excitedly.

The scream of Mrs. St Graves filled the kitchen from everyone, and they began dancing around her, raising their champagne bottles and popping loudly, making sure they don’t spill her, but only for a moment.

There was a blur, then the echoing sound of sudden gunshots from within the Oddsion.

The hailing and chantings died untimely, but the shock didn’t stop everyone from gathering their weapons. Guns from under the kitchen islands. Knives from under their double-sole shoes.

The gunshots only sounded once from outside. Second round started from the kitchen as a sea of armed Serpents flooded inside.

“Protect the First Lady!!!” An Odd screamed madly.

“Protect Saint!!” Another Odd shouted.

Saint and Seraphina went down behind one of the cabinets, and Odds covered them from the front, making sure no shot flew in.

Gunshots cackled in the air like witchy manifestation, bullets crashing chandeliers and other bulbs, boring holes on the walls and scattering on the floors like sand.

Another chandelier fell from the ceiling from the force of bullet, and it crashed down to the middle where Saint had Seraphina are.

Saint quickly pushed Seraphina closer to the island as the chandelier shattered, sending pieces around.

Initially, Seraphina was numb, rigid, eaten raw by the shock of how intruders could successfully enter this place, but the fallen chandelier seemed to call her back.

She instantly dragged her gun from under her swimsuit jacket.

“Where the f+k do you think you’re going!” Saint held her.

“I didn’t read day and night about the use of guns just to hide when there’s a need to use it!” She spat.

“You don’t see the men? They’re not ordinary, SarahNina. You can’t just go out there and—”

Seraphina broke free, adamant. “If I wanted pep talk, I know where to get one. Just quit!”

She spranged up, taking a clean shot at the Serpent opposite her.

The shot hit the Serpent’s arm, and it sent him staggering to the wall, but not enough to disarm him.

He aimed for Seraphina, but Seraphina picked a knife from the island and threw it.

It met him on the throat, slicing his life apart.

As he’s falling, an Odd by that side swung a machete at his stomach, slicing it down with his legs.

The Serpent fell dismembered, and Seraphina went back down, crouching behind that island again.

“Ook,” Saint smiled with admiration. “That was good…”

He pulled his gun too, and at the same time, they both stood from the cover of the island.

They made sure to stay beside each other as they joined the rain of shots, doubling up the ongoing chaos.

“First Lady! Saint! Go down!!” An Odd yelled from the other side.

They didn’t even hear.

They were too engrossed with their triggers to hear a thing.

By now, four Serpents are down, and two maids in that kitchen.

An Odd got hit on the back, and during his groan, another Odd returned the shot to that Serpent from the back of the freezer.

Blood spilled on the freezer as the head of the Serpent split.

Then, the remaining Serpents in the kitchen escaped.

Odds followed them, plus Saint and Seraphina who’re clutching their guns breathlessly.

The rest of the Odds are down on that first floor now.

Now, there are like more than thirty Serpents left in total.

Serpents were surrounded by Odds despite the fact that Serpents are more. Zaine was the last to come down, panting.

“There’s a betrayer insider!” He shouted, but before he could go on, Perez shot at him from the middle of the Odds, and Zaine lurched.

“F+k!!!”

“Perez!!!!” Estelle shouted from the top of the lift, eyes wide.

“Migos deserves more than what he got, m+herf+kers!” Perez screamed, and together with the rest of the Serpents, he dropped poisonous smoke bombs which exploded.

But even with the smokes, Odds fired. Everyone used their emergency masks, over their noses.

They shot with an hand, and more and more Serpents fell to their deaths with shattered heads.

It was at this time Grimm showed up from the elevator.

The dog had been having it’s beauty sleep since the stuff with Kimmy cos of exhaustion, but it had to come out now, joining the exercise.

Jumping, leaping, growling and roaring, it fought.

In the middle of the smokes, it fought too, dragging the Serpents it could get it’s paws on around.

It dragged about six of them successfully, tearing their flesh apart, pulling their heads, legs and intestines around, dragging out their bones and distributing their body components around the Oddsion.

The park, the gardens, the marbles and glass and cars.

The dog went feral.

It didn’t kill to eat.

It killed to kill.

But in the middle of it all, they heard the zooming out of a car.

The gunshots stopped, all eyes swept around….

Over the bodies of over twenty Serpents and the five maids.

None of the Odds died. Some of them only got shot.

But two people are missing.

Saint. Seraphina.

They’re nowhere.

“Follow the cars!” Zaine shouted.

Everyone ran out.

Zaine tried to push himself up to his feet to follow too, but he fell back.

His stomach is literally open, intestine peeking out.

“F+k! Perez…” He cussed.

Estelle appeared and took his gun from his straps.

“What the hell are you doing!” Zaine shouted.

Estelle tucked the gun into her pants and then dragged Zaine to the core surveillance room.

“Estelle!! Argg!” He groaned painfully. “You don’t even know how to shoot properly!”

“But I’m not staying here uselessly, Zaine…” She replied, shutting the door on him and leaving.

[Present Time]

Tobias shut down the laptop after they finished watching.

And he caught the most important moment, luckily.

In the surveillance video, when Serpents dropped the smokes, Odds knew to cover their own noses cos they were conversant with it, but Seraphina and Saint didn’t.

The smokes got them, and they lost their consciousness.

That’s why Serpents were able to grab them inside the smokes.

Tobias left the surveillance room, and Yalda followed.

Jude met them outside.

“Zaine is stable now, and resting…” He said, panicky.

“Prepare for war then.” Tobias let out the order like a war blaze. “Get the weapons, Yalda. There are trackers on the shoes of every Odd member. Get the system, and get their locations. We must get to them in five damn minutes!” He grunted.

“I’ll drive!” Jude ran.

“No,” Tobias wore his gloves which felt hot on his palms. “I’m driving.”

Together, they rushed out of the bloody Oddsion. Yalda pushed the weapon bags into the car with them.

“Vince would wanna leave this country, no doubt… considering the fact that his secret is out at the precinct and the city knows of his atrocities now. He’s gonna want to take First Lady away.” She said.

“That’s only gonna come true when my body gets embalmed.” Tobias responded as he drove out speedily.

[Vince’s Crib]

Uncle Will got up with insane headache which made him rub his temples with a groan, but when he noticed the darkness in the room, he quickly rushed his way out of bed, traced the wall with his palms to get to the wall, then turned on the lights.

“The hell am I in a room?” He muttered to himself, looking around.

Vince definitely gave him a cup of coffee. He drank it without asking, thinking he was just doing his son duty, he couldn’t possibly poison him.

But he seems to have done more than poisoning cos why did he drink the coffee in the living room but ended up here in the bedroom?

He rushed out of the bedroom to the living room, and the first thing that caught his attention was the cup of coffee still sitting on the center table, and the time on his phone.

10pm???

He drank coffee since noon!

When he noticed no one’s at home except him, he knew something went wrong already.

Something definitely sent wrong.

He took the TV remote, turned on the TV for anything, and found it.

The news.

Current news is Tobias St. Graves precinct visit with twenty verified testimonies in human form.

Now, the Redd family is in trouble for real, even Dean is a part of it, and the billionaires who came to the take over event with Vince.

They’re all cooling their feet at the police department right now.

Then Vince himself. Vince is wanted, highly wanted across the country.

Uncle Will dropped the remote, and his eyes turned.

He fell on the couch in a daze.

In the process, his body stabbed something in the couch backrest.

Hard and strange.

He tilted forward, forgetting the news momentarily. He pressed his fingers into the couch leather.

The sensations still remained.

He proceeded to the kitchen and found a knife, then came back to ram the knife into the couch.

Two cross-slashes like a multiplication sign.

And a hardcover book fell out of the open couch space.

“The hell?” Will muttered, dropping the knife to pick the book.

[Club Frontman’s House]

It’s been three hours now.

Three hours since Bexley got here and have been waiting for the arrival of the Frontman.

She has been chewing habitually on her fingers, showing anxiety as she paraded the front of the mansion.

Kelly is taking over?

Kelly is taking her place?

It’s a news she can never take lightly no matter the universe.

She bit her nails into blood already, but she sucked the blood with it, trembling with impatience.

At some minutes after 10, Frontman finally appeared, hopping out of his Porsche at the park.

Bexley flew to him, fingers falling off her mouth finally.

“What do you mean Kelly Price is taking my place?” She panted.

“Bexley?” The man scoffed. “Are you really only concerned about that right now? Do you even have any idea what’s going on in the city? Every Billionaire in the club is under investigation, and Leader Vince himself is highly wanted!”

“And that is why I’m going to be fuelling everything up!” Bexley writhed. “Everything!”

“What do you mean?” Frontman frowned confusedly.

“They dare even think of replacing me with someone? They dare even think about it? They’ve all seen my nakedness during my dances, and now I’m getting replaced? I don’t care if the club is currently in crisis, I’m ruining everything!” Bexley fumed.

“What are you gonna do?” Frontman pulled her arm.

“The kill sins of everyone of them especially Genevieve and Marley, I want them all out!” She shouted.

“I don’t have the documents!” He yelled. “Only Leader does.”

“Then where the hell is that motherfucker!” Bexley demanded.

—

[Redd Family Hospital]

Peach is back to unconsciousness now. After Dora’s ruckus, her weakness overtook her strongwill, and now she lay in bed, back to square one of her sickness.

As the doctors attended to her, Acosta stood at the other end of the ward at their instructions.

His phone is to his ear, dialling Allison’s line.

It kept dropping.

Allison had left earlier after Peach went unconscious again.

Her excuse was that her sister was coming to visit, but she was gonna spend few minutes with her and then come back.

It’s been hours now, Allison isn’t back. Her line isn’t connecting.

Acosta is worried as hell.

“Peach is stable than before,” the doctor told him. “But you should spend more time with her in her unconscious state. It’ll jolt her consciousness, Mr. Simpson.”

“Mr. Simpson?” Acosta was surprised.

“I called you Mr. Redd to the face of that lady, and she corrected me immediately,” The doctor smiled.

“Allison?” Acosta brightened up.

“Yeah,” the doctor nodded, looking around. “Where’s she though?”

“She’ll be here soon,” Acosta excused.

“And I’m sorry about the Redd family sudden misfortune…” The doctor said. “I mean…they literally own this hospital, and now they’re in a mess.”

“They deserve every mess they get into,” Acosta scoffed, dialling Allison’s line again as he went out.

His worry grew.

—

[A Private Tarmac]

The private runway looked abandoned by God and humans.

A gentle shower had just stopped minutes ago, leaving the concrete soaked black beneath rows of white runway lights.

A sleek private jet waited with its turbines already whining to life, the sound swallowing the night, and it’s open staircase waited.

Several SUV zoomed into the runway, and the doors burst open.

Serpents poured out of the cars, and Seraphina and Saint were dragged out first.

Their feet scraped against wet asphalt as the remnants of the poisonous knockout gas left their systems.

Their consciousness returned in painful waves.

Seraphina’s knees nearly buckled and dropped her, but she held herself.

Saint panted high, exhausted.

“My love?” A bitter voice came from across suddenly.

Seraphina blinked twice against the floodlights, then she saw him.

Vince.

He’s perfectly dressed in black, one hand tucked into his pocket like he’s here for a business flight.

He smiled hauntingly, moving closer like an athlete coming to claim his trophy. “My beautiful girl.”

“F+k you!!” Seraphina yelled disgustedly, and that just made his smile widen like he just heard the most beautiful thing ever.

A wheelchair rolled forward behind him, and it’s occupant looked like hatred given flesh.

Ruth.

Her bitter eyes devoured Seraphina, and the disgust on Seraphina’s face increased.

“So,” She laughed bitterly. “The little nobody finally is here.”

“The wheelchair suits you,” Seraphim spat tauntingly.

Ruth smiled….a frightening, broken smile.

“You stole everything. My future, my place, my Tobs!”

“You were never his anything!” Seraphina snarled immediately like Ruth had just said the abominable.

“He shot my knee because of you!” Ruth screamed.

“You earned that bullet foolish bi+ch!” Seraphina yelled. “He should have killed you like he killed your f+kin stupid mother!”

Unable to take it, Ruth shoved herself forward, trembling with fury.

“I’ll rip your face apart—”

She barely reached Seraphina before Vince caught her wrist tight, stopping her from forwarding.

Vince’s expression never changed as he talked…..

“Touch anyone else, but not her.”

“You’re defending her?” Ruth scoffed, trying to wring her wrist off him.

“I said,” Vince squeezed her wrist harder. “Don’t touch my woman!”

Ruth’s breathing became uneven before he released her.

She rolled backward, shaking with humiliation.

Saint snorted in the middle of everything. “Damn, so that’s what being second choice looks like.”

Another figure stepped from beside the aircraft, joining the rest.

Xero.

His face twisted into something ugly as he walked straight toward Saint.

“I’ve waited for this,”

Saint rolled his shoulders despite the ropes binding him.

“Is your son awake yet? Heard Yalda was sent to him. Or is his gay-a+s dead?” He mocked.

Xero’s jaw clenched, and Saint grinned.

“He should’ve obsessed over somebody else.” He muttered, and Xero grabbed him by the collar.

“I’m going to break every f+king…

“Funny,” Saint interrupted him. “Your son’s taste is still better than yours. I mean…look at me. I understand his queer obsession.”

The insult landed exactly where Saint intended for it to land.

Angrily, Xero reached for the knife at his belt to thrust at Saint’s neck.

“Enough!” Seraphina’s steady voice cut through the air, and everyone looked at her.

She met Vince’s eyes.

“You know what your loyal dog here did?” She smirked.

Vince frowned.

“He put his hands on me the day I was kidnapped and taken to Valhalla grounds! He touched me!”

Silence followed that statement, but Xero looked over immediately.

“She’s lying!”

Seraphina never looked away from Vince as if holding eyes with him would pin her words as true.

Vince asked only one question as he faced Xero.

“Did you?”

Xero swallowed, panicking.

“Did….you?” Vince repeated, dragging each word intentionally.

Xero swallowed again.

“I wasn’t…”

A gunshot sounded across the tarmac, cutting Xero off immediately.

The bullet bored a hole on his forehead, and he collapsed lifelessly before the sentence finished.

The back of his head struck the wet concrete.

Vince lowered the pistol without a flicker of emotion.

“No one,” He looked at Seraphina. “Touches what’s mine.”

Even Ruth stared in disbelief, then the loudspeaker echoed across the runway.

“Final clearance granted! Departure authorized!”

Vince gestured toward the aircraft, facing Seraphina. “Let’s go home.”

Seraphina planted her feet like weed on the concrete despite her tied arms.

“I’m not taking one step!” She breathed heavily.

Two Serpents seized her arms, but she didn’t move. She refused to.

“Move!”

“No!” She argued.

The men pulled harder, but she remained rooted.

Vince sighed. “I knew you’d make this difficult,” He nodded once and snapped his fingers.

The cargo door of another vehicle opened, and someone was immediately shoved forward.

Her wrists were bound, and a strip of tape covered her mouth.

Seraphina froze.

“A…allison?”

Her best friend looked up, tears flooding her eyes.

Everything inside Seraphina stopped working immediately, and Vince smiled softly, seeing Seraphina’s shocked expression.

“I had to invite someone important like her,” he grinned. “I once tasked your sister Kimmy to kill her, but seems like she was destined to die my my hands after all.”

Seraphina’s voice cracked. “N….no…”

“If you board peacefully, she lives.” Vince said grimly, his laughter stopping without spilling over.

“I’ll go!” Seraphina snapped immediately. “Don’t touch Allison! Don’t touch my best friend! I’ll follow you! I’ll go with you!”

She was pushed forward, and she began rushing towards the jet.

Vince nodded. “Good girl.”

And then….bang!

The sound shattered the air and echoed inside Seraphina’s ears.

She was on the seventh step when it came, and her head turned immediately.

Allison stood there with a bullet-hole on her chest—right on her heart.

Ruth had shot her.

Allison collapsed lifelessly before she even hit the ground.

Seraphina stared at her body on the ground, but no sound came.

Only memories.

[Years ago – Minds University]

Seraphina sat alone at the busy cafeteria. Every table has friends interacting, talking except her.

Her table is empty. She doesn’t even have money for a simple cup of coffee. All she has is the book she borrowed from the library.

Out of nowhere, a warm paper cup of coffee sat in front of her, and she looked up to see radiant eyes of a girl.

“You always sit alone, mind if I join you? Hi, I’m Allison.” She smiled.

Her way of setting words is funny, and Seraphina couldn’t help but laugh a little.

“Of course, Allison. I’m Seraphina.” She extended an handshake.

Allison took it, and their smiles mirrored.

[Present Time]

“No,” Seraphina’s knees hit the concrete.

“No…” She repeated as she watched Allison’s body on the ground.

Then, her scream came.

“Lis!! Lis!!! No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

It ripped through the runway like something tearing apart from the inside, and Ruth laughed out.

She can’t touch her according to Vince, but she can at least enjoy her sorrow by killing her best friend.

But that was the exact moment headlights exploded across the darkness.

Dozens of fast vehicles. Black cars burst through the security gate.

Doors flew open, and Odds poured onto the runway with rifles, blades.

“First Lady!”

Gunfire erupted through the tarmac like lightning, and within seconds, the night became absolute chaos.

Serpents and Odds.

The Serpents poured from behind cargo containers and maintenance trucks, and Odds answered with steel.

Chains collided against machetes, batons cracked against ribs, knives flashed beneath the airport lights as men crashed into one another with enough force to send bodies skidding.

Estelle ducked beneath a swinging crowbar, buried the hilt of her knife into an attacker’s stomach, yanked it free and immediately blocked another strike with her forearm before driving her boot into the man’s chest.

Nearby, Jude fought like a storm.

A Serpent lunged.

Jude caught the wrist, twisted until the weapon clattered away, drove his elbow across the man’s jaw and threw him directly into another charging attacker.

They both crashed into a luggage loader.

Meanwhile…

Vince shoved Seraphina toward the waiting private jet.

“Move!”

Someone from inside the aircraft pulled the door open.

It’s Perez—the betrayer.

“Get inside!” He shoved too.

Seraphina resisted, twisting violently against Vince’s grip as tears stung her eyes. She kept looking back at Allison’s body laying down helplessly.

“Allison!!”

“Allison!!!!”

“Move!!” Vince shoved again.

“I’d rather die!” Seraphina yanked.

“You’ll thank me later,” Vince forcefully put her in.

Then, explosively, a machine gun erupted from behind them.

Bullets ripped across the tarmac, and everyone instinctively dropped.

Yalda emerged through the smoke, expression utterly cold, the heavy weapon balanced against her shoulder.

Another burst.

Ruth barely had time to turn before she got hit. She collapsed before reaching the jet steps.

Perez shouted her name, but another barrage from Yalda forced him behind the aircraft.

Yalda never slowed.

She walked forward while firing with frightening accuracy.

Behind her, he stood.

Tobias.

His coat billowed behind him as though darkness itself followed, and his eyes looked like it carried a thousand midnights.

Beside him, strode Jude.

The Odds exploded with renewed energy.

Tobias’s eyes found Vince instantly, and Vince released Seraphina.

“This would be interesting,” Vince muttered with a smile that bordered on madness.

Tobias answered with silence as Vince got down the staircase, and they collided like two different storms.

Neither of them tested the other, they simply exploded into motion.

Vince’s punch whipped toward Tobias’s temple, but Tobias slipped outside it and answered with an elbow that split Vince’s lip.

Vince laughed, and his fist buried into Tobias’s ribs.

The impact echoed, but Tobias barely reacted. Instead, he caught Vince by the collar and hurled him into an airport baggage cart…

Hard enough to dent the steel.

The cart rolled several feet before crashing into stacked cargo.

In no time, Vince was already back on his feet.

“You’ve gotten more impressive, bastard.” He laughed again.

Tobias wasn’t in words exchange mood. He wants blood.

Nothing else.

They met again with punches, blocks, kicks, counters, and very strike landed with frightening force.

Vince slammed Tobias into a fuel barrier, Tobias answered by driving his knee into Vince’s abdomen.

Vince staggered only a step before smashing his forehead into Tobias’s.

Both men reeled, and blood trickled down both faces, but neither cared.

They fought like men who had forgotten pain years ago.

A wrench appeared in Vince’s hand from behind, and he swung it, but Tobias caught his wrist as the metal crashed harmlessly beside his head.

Tobias twisted, and the wrench flew away, but Vince answered with a brutal shoulder charge that sent them both rolling across the concrete.

Again, they rose simultaneously.

Neither was willing to kneel, and neither willing to lose.

Around them, the battle still raged on and on and on.

Jude and Estelle and the other angry Odds carved paths through the remaining Serpents while Yalda’s machine gun covered them protectively.

As the other Odds dropped the Serpents effortlessly with knives and pins and screws, Yalda dropped them with her deadly shots.

They were too mad to lose.

The airport became theirs, but Tobias’s attention never left Vince.

Vince attacked again.

This time, Tobias noticed
the slight hesitation on Vince’s knee.

Tobias struck that knee with a savage low kick, and Vince stumbled.

Another blow to the knee from Tobias, and Vince’s balance broke.

Then, Tobias drove forward with everything he had, and his shoulder slammed into Vince’s chest.

The impact hurled Vince backward, and Vince hit the ground.

He looked up and smiled madly. “You think you won?”

Suddenly, his hand slammed onto a smoke canister clipped beneath a nearby emergency vehicle.

Smoke exploded across the runway, and visibility vanished.

“Wrath!” Yalda shouted.

Through the thick cloud, Vince seized Seraphina around the waist.

An airport maintenance pickup sat abandoned nearby, and Vince threw Seraphina into the passenger seat, climbed behind the wheel, and floored the accelerator.

The truck shot through the smoke and drove out of the tarmac before anyone could reach it.

“Tobias!” Seraphina’s voice came from inside.

By the time the smoke cleared, they were gone.

Tobias got back in his car, and it screamed along the coastal highway as he drove after Vince.

Behind him, came three more vehicles carrying Yalda, Jude and the remaining Odds.

The chase became a blur of headlights.

Vince drove recklessly, ignoring bends and barriers and death itself.

Despite her bondage, Seraphina raised her leg to kick his hands away from the steering, but he punched her in the stomach, sending her head to the window to crash.

The road ended at a cliff overlooking a wide sea.

Vince stepped on the brakes hard, and the truck skidded sideways.

He dragged Seraphina out before she could escape, and she struggled violently against his grip.

“Let me go!”

“No!” His grip tightened, and he looked almost broken and desperate.

“I crossed countries for you, built kingdoms for you, burned every bridge behind me. Tell me,” His breathings turned ragged.

“Tell me you love me! We made a blood oath, that so far I tell you I loved you, you’d come back to me. I love you like sickness! Tell me you love me too, Seraphina!!”

Seraphina stared into his eyes, then she spat hot saliva across his face.

“I will never love you!” She spat. “My heart belongs to Tobias!”

Vince froze completely, but he took a little step towards her.

Seraphina took a step backward, and that step brought her toes to the cliff’s edge.

“I’ll love Tobias until my last breath,” she breathed out with teary face.

“You don’t mean that,” Vince shook his head slowly.

“I do!” She snarled.

“You’ll choose him even over your own life?” Vince’s face fell.

Seraphina smiled through tears before saying….”Every time.”

And something inside Vince finally shattered.

“Fine, Seraphina, but if I can’t have you…” He raised his pistol with trembling hands. “Then no one will.”

Almost immediately, car headlights flooded the cliff.

Tobias jumped out of the first car, and Odds spilled from the other vehicles.

Vince quickly swung the gun toward them, but they were faster as several shots rang out from Odds to him.

One bullet struck Vince’s hand, and his pistol flew from his fingers.

He roared in dangerous frustration, swirling Seraphina around to guide himself from the Odds.

His gaze landed on a heavy steel pipe lying beside an abandoned construction barrier.

He picked it, raised it on her head, and Seraphina closed her eyes, muttering… “Tobias,”

Tobias crossed the distance with impossible speed.

He threw Seraphina out of the way, and the steel pipe crashed into the side of his head instead.

The sound echoed across the cliff as he staggered.

Blood streamed down his face completely, wetting his shirt and hair and entire features.

His head obviously has a crack, and one of his eye instantly swelled as his vision blurred.

For one heartbeat, everything stood still, and Odds look like their breaths have been knocked out of them as everyone stood with wide eyes.

“Wrath!!” Yalda cracked.

“Tobias!!!” Seraphina broke into absolute insanity.

The broken cliff edge crumbled beneath Tobias, and his footing fell off to it’s demise.

He pointed his arm, reaching for nothing but air.

Then, he fell off the cliff, disappearing into the two hundred feet darkness below them.

Seraphina’s hollow scream tore across the ocean.

“TOBIAS!!!!!!!!!!!!”

TBC.
