••ALEXANDER OFFICE ••
Alexander got to his office and saw Aurora working on her laptop.
“Good Morning Aurora”. He greeted cheerfully. Aurora stood up quickly immediately she heard his voice.
” Good Morning sir”. She replied with a slight bow.
“Did you sleep well?”.
” Yes sir”.
“Good”. He turned to leave, but he stopped and turned to her.” Thanks for the breakfast it’s been long I ate my favorite breakfast, thank you”. He smiled.
“You are welcome sir”.
” Sure”. he left for his office and sat down staring at her as she resumed what she was doing on her laptop.
Some hours later, all the staff came to the canteen to have their lunch break including Aurora, then Kessy rushed to where Aurora was seated with the other of their colleagues.
“Guess what?”. Kessy asked facing Aurora.
” What?”. She asked. kessy whispered into her ear and she gasped. “Really?” She asked surprisedly.
“Yes, I saw her heading to her son’s office and she was looking furious”. She said.
” Oh no, what should I do?”.
“I will advise you to stay here for a while”.
” How? Our lunch break will be over in the next minute and I have a lot on my desk”.
“Have you meant his mother before?”. Kessy asked.
” Yeah, twice, but it wasn’t a good one”.
“That’s why you will have to remain here till she leaves”. She said and Aurora sighed tiredly.
Meanwhile, Alexander was surprised to see his mother in his office.
” Mom, what are you doing here?”.
“I am here because you refuse to pick up my calls”. She said angrily.
” I was busy”.
“Busy doing what?”.
” Mom, can you just sit down”.
“I am not sitting down son! What has come over you? Why can’t you see a beautiful and amazing woman like Nora standing in front of you”.
” Mom, please, can we not talk about this”.he sighed tiredly
“We are talking about it!”. she yelled.” Why do you have to bring that gold digger back here?”. She sighs angrily.
“Mom can you please just calm down, What lies has Nora told you this time”.
” She told me the truth, you chose to side with another girl rather than your fiancee “. She said.” Why are you doing this son? Do you want to see me die”.
“Mom, you are not dying, whatever thing Nora told you is not true, she was the one who pulled a fight with my secretary”.
” Your Secretary?”.She stared hard at him.”Where the hell is that Secretary of yours?”. She searched around and then her eyes caught sight of the clock on the wall.”I guess she is having a lunch break right now, she has the guts to raise her filthy hands on my soon-to-be daughter-in-law”. She rushed out.
“Mom!”. He called but she ignored him and continued walking. ” Not now!”. He stood up and followed her behind calling out to her.
Meanwhile, Aurora was feeling uneasy at the canteen, just then her eyes caught sight of Alexander’s mother walking into the canteen and scanning around for her.
“Where the hell are you, you scumbag!”. She retorted and everyone in the canteen turned in her direction in surprise, then her eyes met Aurora, and she walked up to her staring angrily at her.
” Good afternoon Ma”. Aurora greeted her nervously.
“Keep your stupid greeting to yourself! You have the nerve to raise your hand on my son’s fiancee, who the hell do you think you are?”. She yelled and then picked up a glass of milk from the table and poured it on her face, Alexander rushed to her.
” Mom, please stop this!”. he took her hand.
“Let go of me, let me teach this good-for-nothing gold digger the stuff I am made of”. She yelled and Alexander managed to drag her out.
” Are you okay?”. Kessy asked.
“Yes, I will go clean myself up in the restroom”. She stood up and left while the rest staff started murmuring to each other.
Alexander drags his mother to his office.
” What is wrong with you? Why are you always causing a scene?”. he asked angrily.
“Causing a scene, you choose a common gold digger over your precious fiancee”.
” Nora is not my fiancee, I am only engaged with her because of you, you made me do it”.
“That’s because I want the best for you”.
” Then let me be with the one to choose on my own, I don’t love Nora, I don’t feel attractive to her”.
“Never son! I will not accept any other woman rather than Nora or you want to see me dead “. She said and walked away. Alexander sighed tiredly and sat down.
Aurora was washing the stain off her shirt, she sighed and stared at herself in the mirror. A while later, she came out and left for her office, she saw Alexander looking moody as he rested his head staring at one spot.
” This is it Aurora, I think is about time you quit this job, I really do not want to be the cause of tearing up a happy family, they all think I am the obstacle in their relationship, I think it is time to finally let go”. She said to herself and continued her work.

During the weekend, Richard and Aurora went out on a normal date to an exclusive restaurant, and they were directed to the VIP section. Aurora looked gorgeous in her dinner gown.
“You look amazing”. Richard compliment.
” Thank you”.
“You are welcome, I am glad you agreed to go out with me”.
” Yeah, let’s just say am giving you a payback for helping me out that night”. She smiles.
“Oh, is that so “. They chuckle, and soon the waiter comes with their order.
” This looks amazing”.Aurora said.
“Yeah, they have an amazing food here”.
They began eating and having conversations with each other.
” You don’t mean that”. Aurora laughed.
“Yeah, Alex was the only one that could pull me out from the mud”. He said.
” That must have been really embarrassing”.
“Yeah”. He sighs.” So, how is working treating you?”.
“Great, working in that company is the best, but”.
” But what?”.
“I will be quitting”. She said and Richard was surprised.
” Why? Was Alexander been hard on you or what?”.
“No, My boss is a nice guy that puts all his workers first”.
” Then why do you want to quit?”.
“Because that will be the only way for him to make peace with his mom and his fiancee”.
” What?”.
“They keep blaming me for coming between their relationship, I don’t want to be the reason for their breakup”.
” But that is not enough reason to quit, I know Alex very well, he will never allow it “.
” I have to, have been humiliated enough, and now I am getting a guilty look from the rest of my colleagues, they all think I am a gold digger”. She said sadly.
“But I don’t think that of you and I know Alex doesn’t think that of you either, is just that he is so stupid to let out some certain things”.
” How do you mean?”.
“You will know sooner, but I wish you the best of luck in whatever decision you make”. He smiles.
” Thank you”.
“You are always welcome”.
They continue their meal and joking around.

Two days later, Aurora walked to his office to see him busy with the mail of the day.
” Um, Good day sir”. She greeted nervously and he raised his face to her.
“Is there a problem?”. He asked firmly.
” Um, not really, I want to give you this”. She placed the brown envelope on his desk.
“What is this?”. He asked curiously as he picked it up and started opening it.
” It’s my resignation letter, sir”.
“What?”. he glances through it.” What’s the meaning of this Aurora, why are you quitting?”.
“I”. She sputtered.
” Are you kidding me right now, so, What Richard said was true, you are quitting because you think you are the cause of the problem that is going on between me and my mother”. He stood up and moved to her.
“I don’t want to create problems anymore”.
” You are not creating a problem Aurora, You have been a helping hand in this company since you came, Why do you want to leave?”.
“Am sorry sir”.
” I will only accept your apologies if you stay, I don’t want you to go, I need you here”.He said firmly.
Suddenly, their eyes caught interlock, Alexander closed the gap between them and caressed her face. Everywhere was silent between the two of them. Alexander couldn’t control his emotions anymore, he brought his face closer to her slowly and was about to have lips touch when the ringing of the telephone interrupted them and they pushed back quickly.
“Am sorry sir, I have to go”. She rushed out with her bag, Alexander tried calling her back she refused.
” Aurora”. He called sadly.
Aurora rushed out of the building with tears in her eyes, she cleaned it up quickly so as not to attract attention, although the rest staff was on their lunch break. She walked sadly to the bus station and sat down waiting, not too long after, a bus came, and she entered with some other groups of people. She was seated in the backseat of the bus lost in deep thought. Suddenly, the car makes a quick U-turn jolting her out of her thought and the other passengers panicked. They tried asking the driver why the sudden U-turn but they were silent by some groups of men in masks who brought out their guns and pointed it at them. Everyone griped in fear and they all realized they had entered the wrong bus.
“Oh no”. Aurora said quietly as she bowed her head to the ground at the order of the men.
” If any of you move an inch, your head will be blown off, don’t even try to make a move. Now, all of you, drop everything you have on you on the floor “. He ordered and they all started dropping their handbag and phones including their jewelry.
