Shawn sat down on his bed, resting his back against the bed, while Sofia was changing the bandage used to wrap his wounded stomach.
"I can't believe you did all that, you could have waited to heal first before going to his house," Sofia scolded.
"Are you now taking sides with him?" Shawn asked.
"No, I am just worried about you, your wound hasn't healed yet," Sofia said.
Shawn smiled. "You should worry about yourself too, does your head still hurt?"
"No, it's just a minor injury, unlike yours," Sofia said and was done wrapping up the wound. "It's done, is there anything else?" She asked.
"No, all I want now is for you to cuddle me to sleep," he said.
Sofia gulped nervously. "Now?"
"Yes, you forgot you signed up for the paper?" Shawn said.
Sofia sighed. "Fine."
She rolled her eyes, and Shawn scoffed. He lay down properly on the bed, resting his head on her lap. Sofia gulped nervously.
"Why are you gulping so hard? Are you nervous?" Shawn teased.
"Nothing, just sleep already, so I can go to my room," Sofia said.
"You can only go when I am deep in sleep," Shawn said.
"Sure," Sofia replied.
Shawn smiled and shut his eyes, allowing sleep to take over. Sofia stared at him, seeing how calm he looked while sleeping, and wondered why he wanted her to cuddle him to sleep.
"What happened to the workers, did you fire them?" Sofia asked, her brow furrowed in curiosity.
Shawn's eyes remained closed, a hint of a smile on his lips. "No, I just gave them a week off."
"Oh, so, how are you going to feed for a week without them?"She as as her eyes widened in surprise.
"You are here."His response was simple.
"Me?"
"Mm-hm."His eyes remained closed, a small nod his only response.
"How, you know I don't know how to cook."her face scrunched up in frustration.
. "Learn it."He said, his words straightforward
"How do you expect me to learn it? I didn't sign up for that. You can call Rachel to come over and spend the week with us, you know she is a very good cook."Her eyes rolled in exasperation.
His eyes snapped open, his gaze locking onto Sofia's. "Why?" he asked, his voice tinged with curiosity.
"Because she is your fiancée." She alarm.
"I have told you before that we are not dating."His eyes narrowed slightly, his voice firm.
"You still haven't made up with her?...What exactly do you want? You see a gorgeous lady throwing herself at you, and you are turning her down... Sometimes I wonder why you are such a dummy."She said, her voice was barely above a whisper, her words laced with confusion
His eyes snapped open, his gaze piercing as he stared at her. "What did you say?"
"Nothing."Her eyes widened in alarm, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Do you really want to ship me with Rachel?"His eyes narrowing slightly as he lifted his head from Sofia's lap.
"She is nice and perfect for you."
"You think so. If I ended up with her like you wish, will you be okay with it?"His eyes searched her face, his voice tinged with curiosity.
. "Meaning?"She asked confusedly, her brow furrowed slightly
"You won't get pissed off when I decide to marry her."
"Why will I get pissed off? I am rooting for her for you."She said calmly, her voice matter-of-fact.
"Okay, you said it, don't regret it later... if you want me to be with Rachel, I will."His eyes locked onto hers, a small smile playing on his lips.
"Really?"She widened in surprise, her voice tinged with excitement.
"Isn't that what you want?"he asked, his voice calm.
"Of course."her face lit up with a smile, her voice filled with enthusiasm.
His eyes never left hers, his voice low and smooth. "Well, you have it, "Don't regret it later."
"So, this means I won't cuddle you every night anymore since your fiancée will be coming back."Her eyes dropped, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Don't dream it, our deal still stands." his eyes narrowing slightly
"Are you serious? She might misunderstand us."Her eyes widened in alarm, her voice tinged with concern.
"I don't care... can you stop talking now and let me have my beauty sleep?"his said nonchalantly.
Shawn woke up and noticed Sofia wasn't in the room. He sat upright on the bed and stretched his body.
"It's been so long I slept so peacefully, so Doctor Matt was right." He left for the bathroom to freshen up.
Meanwhile, Sofia was at the dining table setting up dinner with a mouthwatering meal. Shawn came out of his room wearing a casual outfit and was surprised to see an excess of food on the dining table.
"You're awake, good morning," Sofia greeted.
"Did you prepare all these?" He asked as he sat down.
"Nope, I ordered it," She said.
Shawn stared at her. "You made an order? On whose credit card?"
"Yours, of course," She replied. "Do you expect me to get all these with my money?"
"Why did you order so much?" He asked.
"Well, I didn't know what's your favorite and the one you're allergic to, so I just ordered them,"
Shawn scoffed. "You could have just prepared a simple meal."
"I told you I don't know how to cook," She snapped.
"Then learn it," he said.
Sofia rolled her eyes at him. "Is this the thank you I get for these efforts?"
He started eating. "As long as you're not the one who prepared them, no thank you for you."
She frowned. "Whatever."
"You have been living in this house with me for two years now, you should know the meal I like to eat or not," He said.
"Why?"
"That's your job,"
"The last time I remember, I wasn't employed in this house to cook or clean for you," She frown. "Why should I study you when I haven't studied myself?"
He giggled. "So, you don't know who you are."
Sofia rolled her eyes. "Just eat."
"Just so you know, I am charging you for these," He said.
She was surprised. "Why? Did I do wrong in ordering food for us?"
"Yes, you spent my money on this food," Shawn said. "You should start thinking of a way to pay me back."
"If you have settled your difference with Rachel sooner, none of these would have happened," She snapped.
Shawn scoffed as they continued eating.

Rachel was laying down on her bed, operating her phone, when her mom entered the room.
"Hey, Mom," she said, sitting upright and smiling warmly as her mom sat down next to her.
Her mom's face was filled with concern. "How is it going?" Mrs. Ruth asked. Rachel face turned gloomy, and she sighed. "Have you called him yet?" her mom asked.
She shook her head. "No, Mom."
Her mom's eyes narrowed slightly. "Why not? I told you to keep pushing."
Her face scrunched up in frustration. "I don't know, Mom, I'm just confused."
"Don't be, I know, and I believe he will accept you. Call him right now."
Rachel's eyes widened in uncertainty. "Are you sure he will pick up?"
Her mom's face was confident. "Yes, call him now."
Rachel sighed and dialed Shawn's number. It rang for a while before being picked up from the other end. "Um, hey, Shawn," Rachel said on the phone, her voice filled with nervousness.
There was a pause before Shawn responded. Her face lit up with a smile. "How are you doing? It's been a while?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
There was another pause before he responded again. She eyes widened in surprise, and her face lit up with a bright smile. "Really?" she asked excitedly. Her smile grew even wider as she listened to Shawn's response. "Sure, I will. Okay, see you around the weekend. Bye," she said, hanging up the phone and let out a loud scream of excitement, jumping up from the bed and hugging her mom tightly.
"What did he say?" her mom asked, laughing.
Rachel's face was radiant with happiness. "He asked me out, Mom! He said we should hang out this weekend. I'm so happy!"
