“She is truly beautiful son.” She said and I nodded.
“Yes I know mother. She is beautiful.” I said sighing.
“Are you okay? Is everything alright?” She asked and I nodded forcing a smile on.
“I am perfectly okay Mom. You don’t need to worry.” I said and she sughed holding my hand and looking into my eyes.
“You know you can talk to me right?” She asked and I nodded.
“I know Mom and thank you for always being here to hear me out.” I said and she hugged me.
“Oh how i wish your father was here now.” She said and I sighed.
“His absence shouldn’t surprise you Mom. I am sure he is out there cashing one business or the other.” I said and she smiled.
“It’s for us. He is doing it for us, you shouldn’t hate him for that.” She said and I shook my head.
“I don’t hate him mother, I miss him. And I hate missing him when I can see him everyday and not miss him.” I said and she smiled.
“Your father loves you, and to keep the family and the name. He needs to keep working, traveling…” She said and I nodded.
“And how is Isabella?” I asked.
“Ah your sister is perfectly okay. She will be back home from college this weekend.” She Said and I smiled widely.
“I have missed her so much.” I said and she nodded.
“And I bet she does too. I can’t imagine the face she would make when she mets with this Wonder woman Elena.” She said and I forced another smile on.

I waved the napkin in the air trying to chase out the burning smell of the fries out of the kitchen.
“Aren’t you done?” I heard Jace abruptly startling me and I jumped in fright.
“Gosh. You scared the hell out of me.” I said looking at him.
“Sorry about that. Just that mother was wondering what is taking so long.” He said and I sighed.
“You can’t blame me. I tried making it the perfect dish but it happens I have lost some of my cooking skills.” I said and he walked into the kitchen.
He stared at the fries and sighed.
“We can dish the fresh one to mother, or better still order one for her.” He said and I shook my head.
“No. My cooking can’t just go to waste that way. It was just a little burn. It’s still tasty.” I said dipping one into the sause and feeding it to him.
He took it with his mouth as we stared at each other.
“How does it taste?” I asked breaking the intense stare that was beginning to swallow me.
“It’s.. great. She would love it.” He said and I nodded happily. At least I wasn’t that bad after all.
“This is the chicken.” I said and he nodded.
“We should get it to the table.” He said carrying the plate of chicken before I could say anything.
I sighed and carried the plate of fries, heading out of the kitchen too.
“Wow. I can’t wait to taste this.” His mom said as soon as I appeared.
“I hope you love it.” I said swallowing hard. What if the seasoning in the chicken is too much? Or not enough? Oh no, this isn’t good.
“I will surely do. I am in love with the taste and look already.” She said picking up the fork and I dropped the fries near her.
I looked at Jace and he gave me this reassuring smile.
“Why are you two standing and looking at me that way? Won’t you eat too?” She asked cutting some of the chicken.
“We want to see how you feel about the food. Don’t worry mom, we will be fine.” Jace said wrapping his hand around my shoulders and I let out this fake smile.
“You speak like you both prepared it.” She said moving it to her mouth.
“We kinda did everything together.” I said with my eyes widened, eagerly waiting to see her Expression.
She began to chew and I saw her shut her eyes in disgust and after that her face brightened and she smiled.
“This Is the best chicken I have ever tasted my entire life.” She said and I felt like the happiest girl in the world.
My cooking didn’t go wrong after all.
“Wow. I am so happy to hear that, but why didn’t you make that face at first?” I asked and she furrowed her brows.
“What face?” She asked.
“Like you didn’t like what you tasted.” I said and she laughed.
“I wanted to pretend I didn’t like it, but it was just to awesome to pretend, so my act was neutralized.” She said and I looked at Jace happily.
Who also smiled back like he wanted the corners of his mouth to touch his ears.
“I would bring more fries.” I said running into the kitchen again.
I got the fries and when I got out I saw Jace and his mom eating the chicken.
“Baby I thought we were supposed to eat this together.” I said pouting my mouth.
“I am sorry love. The chicken was so wonderful and I couldn’t stop myself from eating it.” He said and I flushed a little.
“Really?” I asked happily.
“Come join us.” He said and I walked to the table Happily. I dropped the fries and picked up a fork to eat it.
I dipped the fork into the chicken when I noticed it didn’t have the same look as mine.
“Something is wrong.” I said furrowing my brows.
“What’s wrong?” Jace asked.
“This wasn’t how I dressed the chicken.” I said and he furrowed his brows.
“No that’s the way. Did you cram the way you designed it?” He asked and I nodded.
“Of course I did.” I said and they sighed.
“Actually…. I didn’t like the way it looked, so I asked Jace to dress it a little for me.” His mom said and I smiled.
“Really? Thanks baby.” I said looking at Jace and he grinned.
