Thunder boomed and the lightening flashed in the sky as the rain fell heavily that night, I drove like a mad man through the wet slippery streets of Ibadan as I headed straight to the hospital … Christen who was in the back seat of the car shouting out loud asking me if we had reached the hospital yet… Our baby’s time had finally come and any minute now, Christen would give birth,.. She held on to the handle of the door crushing it with all her might, She screamed out again almost crying out loud wishing she had her powers to ease her condition … I pitied her, unable to imagine the pain she was going through..
Despite being stripped of her powers, It turns out that she could teleport and read minds.. I couldn’t understand it at first, until Christen explained to me that teleportation and mind reading was part of the witch’s biology, so magic isn’t required when doing any of them.. But now that she was in this condition.. She couldn’t teleport herself.. She feared that something might happen to the baby, so she insisted on us driving..

Christen ➡ Oh Mephistoph.. RILEY!! ARE WE THERE YET?.. I CAN’T HOLD ON..

Riley ➡ Don’t worry honey… We’re almost there… Just hang on…

After some minutes later, We reached the hospital.. I nearly crashed through the hospital gate,.. After parking the car, I went and pulled Christen out of the car, She held onto me tightly as we went into the hospital… I was surprised when I saw everyone had frozen, everyone including the patients and the hospital personnel had stood still with their eyes dazed… As we entered the reception.. We saw Judith, Esther and Aunt Jezebel waiting for us..

Riley ➡ Judith.. Esther.. What’s going on..

Jezebel ➡ Silence… My niece is about to give birth and you didn’t tell us?

Riley ➡ I’m sorry.. There was no time.. How did you know we were going to come here?

Esther ➡ It doesn’t matter.. Let’s just put her to bed..

Christen ➡ Ah.. It hurts.. I think the baby is coming out..

Riley ➡ Just Relax darling.. Everything is going to be okay..

Christen ➡ I hope so.. I don’t want to die.. I never knew child birth was this hard..

Christen was soon led into the labor room,.. As it turns out.. They weren’t the only ones there.. Christen’s father was there and so was her brother, Oliver.. I saw lots of familiar faces there.. I was the only human in the place.
I later joined Christen in the labor room to stay by her side as she gave birth, Aunt Jezebel took care of the child labor, she helped Christen deliver the baby, Christen held my hand tightly as she pushed out the baby.. My hand was almost crushed but I endured.. 30 minutes later.. Christen successfully delivered our baby and it was a baby girl… Hearing the child’s cry brought tears to our eyes and amazement to the faces of the other witches who were present… Our child was the first half breed ever, half witch / half human.
After Aunt Jezebel had washed and covered the baby, she handed the baby over to Christen and I to bond with it.. The baby was so pretty and looked a lot like Christen.. Christen and I stood side by side sharing a kiss as we looked at our child.

Riley ➡ I’m so happy you made it..

Christen ➡ Me too.. I never knew childbirth was this tough…. Just look at our baby.. She’s beautiful.

Riley ➡ I agree.. She has her mother’s looks.

There was no doubt about it… Our baby has a strong resemblance of her mother , She was no longer crying, instead she kept quiet looking into our eyes.

Christen ➡ She may have my looks but she certainly has her father’s eyes.

Riley ➡ So? What do we name her?
.
Christen ➡ You give her the name.. I really don’t have any ideas..

Riley ➡ I know.. We’ll name her Ebunoluwa.

Christen ➡ Don’t you think it’s kind of long? What does it mean?
.
Riley ➡ It means *the girl with all gifts*.
.
Christen ➡ I like it… It’s a lovely name.
.
Riley ➡ I know.. I’m so happy to be sharing this moment with you.

Christen ➡ Me too… Finally we’re now a family.. I’m glad we’re together as we’ve always wanted.

Riley ➡ Me too darling.. This is a new beginning for us as a family and I hope we stay together to see it flourish and expand. I love you.

Christen ➡ I love you too.

Days later, we had our naming ceremony and a lot of people came to the event.. Even the supreme Witch came but in disguise together with her council.. They were astonished to see our baby, Each one of them carried her wishing her a successful long life. My Parents and relatives were also present at the ceremony and they too gave their best wishes to our child,.
Christen’s relatives were there as well and they brought lots of gifts to our baby.. Christen’s father went over to my parents and exchanged pleasantries… Never in my life did I thought this would ever happen.. Decades ago, my relationship with Christen was forbidden but now here we all are together, like family and all this was thanks to Rose’s sacrifice.
And Speaking of Rose, despite how scary and terrible she was, I wished she was alive to see her niece and I’m sure she would love to take care of her… I’ll never forget what she did for me.
Everyone had a great time in our naming ceremony and it was quite crowded cause, almost all the witches, ghouls and mermaids were present .. I was terrified to see them in great number but Christen assured me everything was fine.. My relatives thought that they were Christen’s family but they had no idea that these were supernatural beings among us.. If they knew who they truly were, they would have ran for their lives.
Hours later after the ceremony, everyone went to their houses, Judith, simi and Bimpe together with some of our relatives stayed and helped us clean the house.. Simi who wasn’t used to physical labour wanted to use magic but Christen restrained her from doing so cause my relatives would freak out if they saw what she did.. After they were done, they bade us good bye and left.. Christen and I were soon left alone in our house.
Later in the bedroom, Christen was putting our baby to sleep while I laid down on the bed staring at her.. I couldn’t believe I was married to her and now she has our child.. This was all too good to be true.. As if she knew what I was thinking Christen spoke up.

Christen ➡ You’re still asking yourself that question?

Riley ➡ Why not? I’m just hoping this isn’t an illusion spell.

Christen laughed and dropped the baby into her bed and crawled on the bed towards me.. She mounted on top of me looking down at me coyly, she grabbed my hands and placed it on her luscious bre+sts.

Christen ➡ Tell me.. Is this an illsion?

Riley ➡ Wait let me taste them first.

I reached out and pulled down her gown s–+-g her bre+st milk.. Christen giggled and pushed me back to my pillow.

Christen ➡ I know what you’re doing.. It won’t work.

Riley ➡ Come on.. The baby is asleep.. Let’s just do it quietly.

Christen ➡ No darling.. I just gave birth last week.. And now you want to make love to me.. No.. I need to rest.

Before she could notice, I grabbed her waist and flipped her over laying her on the bed, I mounted on her and kissed her mouth and neck.. Christen moaned holding on to me tightly.. I touched her silk smooth body fondling her softly.. She twitched and began to part her legs for me, just as I was about to remove my pajamas ; our Black cat 🐈 appeared interrupting the moment.
Ever since we found it on that Island, I’ve been having this strange vibe around the feline .. The stupid animal always scares me and it has this habit of sticking around Christen not allowing me to get close, and whenever I try to make love to Christen, it would come and stay staring at us with her devilish eyes.. I tried scaring it off but it wouldn’t move. There are times where it would attack me or charge at me as if it’s going for the kill.

Riley ➡ Jesus this stupid cat is here.

Christen ➡ Darling.. Stop insulting her.. She’s a nice cat. 🐈

Riley ➡ Only to you.. She hates me.
.
Christen ➡ That’s because you reject her.. Come here missy.

The stupid animal jumped on our bed coming close to Christen, as soon as she got close, she began to rub herself on Christen’s body,.. Christen took her and began to rub noses with her, the cat without shame begin to lick Christen’s nose.

Christen ➡ See.. She’s nice.
.
Riley ➡ Drop her down.. You’ll get diseases.

As if it understood what I said, the cat meowed out loud stretching her claws out trying to scratch my face .. Christen calmed her down and dropped her off the bed, the cat then went out our baby’s side and laid there.

Riley ➡ Honey.. Get that cat 🐈 away from our baby.. I’m not in the mood for cleaning cat poop.

Christen ➡ Don’t worry about it, the baby will be fine… Just come to bed and sleep.

Christen laid on the bed leaving me alone, I had to stay awake for a while monitoring the cat before I went to sleep.

10 GOOD YEARS had passed since our child was born, my married life with Christen was steady and we loved each other dearly.. Things have been quiet lately during these 10yrs.. There was no incident or crisis like the ones we had in the past.. I could still remember the struggle we had with Lucas and Satania but now they were now ancient history and finally Ibadan was at peace, except for economic and political crisis.
Christen and I managed to keep our marriage successful, We didn’t allow work to interfere in our family moment.
Speaking of work… I was still lecturing at the university of Ibadan and Christen was now a full time house wife… She couldn’t handle the students anymore so she decided to quit and stay at home, finding her own means of income..
Since she was familiar with trees and herbs, she began to make ointments, creams and health medicines… Thanks to her cousins who helped her advertise her products.. Lots of people patronized her stuff and most of them were ladies.. Within a month, her business boomed and she became popular.. I advised her to go public with her products but she insisted on staying low because she hated getting attention and most of all crowds.
Despite being a successful business woman, Christen didn’t do much, instead she stayed at home looking more beautiful every day .. We’ve been married for 10years now and Christen was barely aging, she was 31 years of age but her looks were hardly changing .. Although she gained a little weight and her feminine assets had gotten bigger but she still looks more beautiful than ever.
Using her ointments and herb creams, she would use it on her skin and hair making her look like an Arabian empress, Her hair got longer and her skin got more whiter, I couldn’t bring her out in the public else people might begin to suspect something… Since we were living close to my parent’s house.. My mom would come with her church friends for a visit trying to make Christen join her Church congregation, among those that followed my mom to our house was Deborah.
The Hypocritic b-tch had also gotten married also and was blessed with two kids,.. It’s been 10yrs but she already looks like a 40yr old lady, She had gotten fat like a pig and had lost all her feminine charm and curves..
Whenever she comes to my house, she would seethe with jealousy whenever she saw Christen, she couldn’t accept the fact that Christen was still looking sexy and attractive and tried to bad mouth her. Christen paid her no attention of course and lied to my mother about attenting another church.
Since she no longer has powers, I decided to make her feel very comfortable, cause women like her don’t like living in uncomfortable situations.. Thankfully, I had enough money to make her life better, but Christen wasn’t too demanding and she didn’t bother herself with materialistic things, all she wanted was clothing and food.
Unlike most Nigerian couple lifestyle, mine with Christen was a bit complicated… Well, for starters, Since I married a witch I had to expect the unexpected . For instance, Christen hated noise..in fact she hated any kind of noise, so TV, radio, or any electronic device for entertainment in my house was banned.. I couldn’t watch football or the news, even in my own house.. I had to go out if I wanted to a football match.
Second of all, she hated crowds so we don’t get too many visitors, that’s why our house was deep inside the forest close by next to her favorite spot which was the Iroko tree.
Thirdly, Our house was filled with lots of plants and herbs.. Christen had turned our house into flower shop but there’s a lot benefit in her madness.. Christen always sleeps with the windows open and doesn’t care about mosquitoes but she handled the situation.. She mixed some flowers and burnt it a clay pot putting it in the center of our living room, the smoke would surround the house killing the mosquitoes in an instant.. It’s been years since I felt a mosquito bite.. And another beneficial thing was, our house smelled so good, you would think we were manufacturing perfume.. Christen hated chemical made perfumes.. She would again use herbs and dry plants of different variety to make a perfume with it. She would burn them and spray the scent around the house.
Finally, as for our fun time, Christen would teleport us to an unknown inhabited island where we would bath together and make love to each other.
Despite all this, there are some flaws that Christen has but I don’t care.. Besides we love and tolerate each other and that’s more than enough for the both of us.
But there is one problem that I’ve a difficult time trying to correct and that’s my fatherly bond with my daughter Ebinoluwa, who despises me or rather resents me.
Ebinoluwa my daughter was exactly like Christen in personally and appearance but her nature reminded me of her late Aunt.. Ever since she began to walk, she never liked me.. In fact she avoided me like I was kind of plague, she never greets me or even smile at me, she barely even allows me to touch.. She would stare at me with cruel cold eyes.. Like her mother, she doesn’t like crowds and hardly talks to people.. The only people she talks to is Christen and my mother.
Whenever she goes to my mom’s place she would laugh and play but back at home especially if I’m around, she doesn’t even move an inch.. I tried to figure out what I did and I did my best to impress her but my efforts were wasted but still I never gave up.
Ebinoluwa was also quite strange.. She was strange in the sense that, it was for her mother and I to decide whether she was a witch or human, Ebinoluwa never showed any witch signs or magic and led us to believe that she was powerless but it shocked me to see she could put on Christen’s necklace 📿 without anything happening to her.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, Our annoying pet had grown so fond of Ebinoluwa that she would follow her anywhere even in school and speaking of schools.. It was hard to find a suitable one of my daughter cause each school we took her to, there was a complain or crisis and the teachers would call her names that she was cursed, so because of this we had to switch schools repeatedly.
One evening, I was in bed feeling worried about my daughter’s resentment towards me, Christen who came out of the shower, noticed my mood and asked what was worrying me.

Christen ➡ My love, is everything okay?

Riley ➡ Why does our daughter hate me so much?.. What have I done to deserve this?

Christen ➡ Look don’t let that get to you.. She’ll come around.

Riley ➡ I hope so..
.
Christen ➡ So you’re taking her to her new school tomorrow?

Riley ➡ Yes.. I hope there won’t be any problem?
.
Christen ➡ Me too.. Well.. Let’s go to sleep shall we?

Riley ➡ Let me go check on Ebinoluwa to see if she’s asleep.

Christen ➡ Okay my love.
.
I left the bedroom, and headed straight to my daughter’s room to check out if she was asleep, it was already 11:30pm, so she should be far asleep by now,.. As I opened her bedroom, I saw her sitting on the bed together with the cat making hand signs with her hands as if she was communicating with it.. Just as I was about to move an inch, Ebinoluwa turned quickly at my direction staring at me menacingly, her gaze was fierce and cold, what frighten me was the way her eyes glowed in dark,… She didn’t say anything, instead she frowned and went to sleep, The cat too also growled and slept right next to her.
I felt hurt and displeased by what she did, I sighed softly and closed the door of her bedroom slowly, after that I headed back to the bedroom.
