Outside the city of Ibadan, There’s an abandoned Four storey building which was built by Federal government due to lack of funds it was left to rot… Inside this Building there’s a huge underground cellar and in this cellar, there is a gathering of men and women all dressed in red and black..
They all stand in circle humming strange sound, on their foreheads there is a sign of the devil’s triangle which is drawn in blood.. As they hum for a while, they all became silent all of a sudden…
Immediately they kept quiet, A man with a horrifying mask walks into the place and behind him, a young lady is being dragged by some people who are also dressed in red and black.. The lady panics and screams trying to break free but she couldn’t..the men drag the lady to the middle of the cellar and place her on a stone altar which has tiny holes on top of it, they tied her hands and legs and then cover her eyes and mouth.
After that, the man with the mask waves his hands making every person in cellar to focus on him, immediately he does that, he then begins to address the people.

Immediately the eclipse occurs , The Cult leader brings down the knife with all his might stabbing it deep into the lady’s chest.. The Lady struggles in pain, her mouth oozing with blood and her eyes flickering in a fast faze, within seconds the lady’s body becomes still and numb, as the cult leader checks the lady’s pulse but she was long dead.
The Cult leader then smiles and shout out loud to himself, his followers also follow him as they shout out loud as well. After that, the Cult leader snaps his fingers and then a group of cult members drag a young teenage girl and statue into the cellar and take to another room, The cult members line up on the wall from the cellar to the room watching as the lady’s blood flow from underneath the altar flowing through a line draw in the cellar that leads to the other room, The Cult members watch as the blood flows from the altar straight to the other room, The blood then gathers underneath the statue… All the cult members gather around the statue and bow to it..
The girl that was dragged into the room was stripped naked and placed in front of the statue, the Cult leader then uses some of the blood and draw a devil’s triangle on the girl’s forehead.
As soon as the eclipse passes, the statue begins to break and then it explodes with a very big boom 💥! A black phantom figure appears out of the statue roaming about the room, its eyes are red and dreadful, as soon as it sees the girl in front of it.. It swirls around and enters the girl’s body through her mouth.. The girl’s body shakes tremendously, as the phantom enters the girl’s body, her body begins to levitate, as soon as the black matter enters the girl, her body drops hard on the ground… The cult members rise up and wait to see what will happen.
Seconds later, the girls body bounces up high in the air levitating upwards, this sudden movement scares the cult members after a while, the girl’s body descends to the ground, the girl’s eyes open all of a sudden.. Her eyes are completely red and glowing, she stares at all the cult members and smile to herself.. She waves her hands and all of them bow to her.. In that moment, The Cult leader rises up and salutes the girl.

Demon ➡ Is that so? What is this place? What year is it? and who are you?

10 years in the human world equals a year in the witch world, but to me it seems like I’ve spent a 100 years…
Ever since, Riley and I split up, I decided to move back to the witch world and stay there forever .. As the years passed, not for once did I bother to check or see how the human world had changed..
So In order to occupy and keep myself busy, I began to teach healing magic and binding spells to the young and upcoming witches and wizards back the witch world… It was fun really but I didn’t quite enjoy it, I still hated crowds.. Somehow the young critters knew about my behavior around them and tried not to offend me in any way.
The youngsters weren’t bad really, They were good kids and humble but there was one thing I wished they’d stop… They had this habit of asking about my relationship with Riley every once in a while.
Every one in the witch world knew about my romance with Riley, and I soon became a celebrity, the first witch to fall in love with a human and gets away with it without being punished but that wasn’t the only thing I was famous for, Lucas’s defeat also gained me some amount of respect but despite that.. Some of the witches ridiculed me, laughing about how my romance with Riley turned out in the end… I paid no attention to them of course but when I was alone, I would cry about it… Sometimes I would curse Riley for choosing that option.. Why couldn’t he choose me? And not only will he have me but he’ll be immortal as well. That way we can spend centuries with each other.. But then I reminded myself that, That would be selfish and cruel if Riley chose me cause he wouldn’t see his family and friends again and the worst part was he wouldn’t have the chance to say good bye.. What pains me the most is that, Everything Riley and I did, was all wiped from head.. Every beautiful moment he had was wiped out completely, like it was nothing.
No matter how I tried I couldn’t forget about my moments with Riley, those moments were the most important and exciting thing I’ve experienced in my entire life.. But now that we’re both separated there’s nothing we can do.. Maybe this is the way things are meant to be.
As for my curious students, sometimes I’ll give them an answer, sometimes I’ll not.. Bringing up questions about my romance with Riley will only continue to break my heart and I can’t bear that anymore.. It’s time to forget about the past and move on.
Things have certainly changed in the witches world as the years passed, My Aunt Jezebel had retired and stepped down from her seat in the witches council, after that she later got married to one wizard and they lived a quiet and happy life together.
As for my brother Oliver, well, he has changed a bit unlike before, recently as of late, he’s becoming quite ambitious, He’s now the leader of the witch’s guild based in Ibadan, the witch’s guild is an organization serving the council to safe guard our existences from the humans and they’re sure doing a good job.
As for my grandma Wuruola, she’s still the same witch as always funny and kind and as for my father, after that Riley’s incident, he and I haven’t talked that much, in fact he’s still upset about me having a romantic fling with Riley; nevertheless, I ignored him and stayed out his way.. Finally, my dreadful sister Rose hasn’t changed a bit… Her love for massacring humans was still intact, but recently as of late she’s been calm unlike before when she was wild like a raged bull.. But That wasn’t the only thing that happened to Rose, With her powers now growing immensely like never before the course decided to appoint her as the members of the council and she was given Aunt Jezebel’s seat at the council table.
A lot of witches thought Rose would use this opportunity and do whatever she wanted now that she’s a member of the council but she proved them wrong.. She doesn’t prey on humans like she did before unless she was ticked off by them. And with her powers, Rose contributed quite a lot for the growth and development of the witch’s world .
I too was offered a seat at the table for various reasons, but I refused it.. I had no interest in becoming one of the council, being a teacher of mystic arts is good enough for me.
One evening as I was in my house, relaxing from the exhausting hours I spent teaching , I was visited by Oliver.. Ever since he became the leader of the witch’s guild, we haven’t seen or talked to each other.. I welcomed him into my house and offered him a seat and drink.

Oliver ➡ Christen.. How’s my little sister doing?

Christen ➡ I’m fine Oliver.. How’s your job as leader of the guild?

Oliver ➡ It’s quite fun but nothing interesting has been going on.. Believe me.. It’s boring out there.

In that moment, Rose makes her way into my house, She walks into the room majestically, and calmly unlike before when she usually barges in rudely and laugh cynically… She approaches me, giving me a tight warm hug before sitting next to me.

Rose ➡ Little sister.. How’ve missed you. It’s been a while.

Christen ➡ Yes it has.. So how’s work? Pretty exhausting huh?

Rose ➡ No.. Its not exhausting but it’s boring.. All the council does in warm our asses and talked about boring stuff.. Oh I miss my old life.. Never a dull moment.

Christen ➡ So what brings you here?

Rose ➡ Well, I’m here because of two reasons.. First, i came here to see how you’ve been, cause we haven’t met for some time now and second.. The council has a job for you.

Christen ➡ Job? What job?
.
Rose ➡ A few days ago.. Some kind of dark force was felt in Ibadan and people have been dying ever since.. We don’t know why but also there’s a mystery that seems to elude us…. A number of female students have been missing… We got a report of this from the witch’s guild.. We need to know what’s going on.

Christen ➡ Why does the council have certain in this things all of a sudden?

Rose ➡ Does the term genocide sound familiar? Whoever’s behind this is trying to do what Lucas has failed to accomplish.

Christen ➡ Okay.. But why me?
.
Rose ➡ Your powers over nature gives you certain advantage over other witches, you can easily get information about what’s going on..

Christen ➡ Sorry.. I can’t.. I promised myself not to step a foot on the human world ever again.

Rose ➡ Well, that’s too bad because this isn’t a request.. Its an order. And you know the rules about refusing a task from the council.

Christen ➡ Okay, okay.. I’ll go.. So what’s the assignment?.

Rose ➡ Your job is to get information and find out why the girls are being missing and the mystery behind this death.. So in order to blend into the crowd, I’ve already made arrangements for you to be a lecturer in your old department in Ibadan university .. That’s right.. That’s why you’ll be heading to, Here take this.. Here’s your CV and the key to your car and house.. You don’t need to do anything.. Magic has already done everything.. Any questions?

What was I to say? This job wasn’t comfortable for me at all, of all the places I get posted to is my old campus, that’s why I met and left Riley.. This was just too much.. For some reason, something’s telling me to prepare for the unexpected.

I held rose’s hands and we soon teleported to my new place…. It was a nice place really but it was too much for my liking.. The room was furnished with expensive and glittery stuff, who needs that? All this things shone the room like bright light.. Me I prefer a little bit of darkness, too much light makes me feel nauseous.
Rose soon left as she brought me to the place, after she was gone, I made a few changes to the room, with my magic I replaced all this glittery crystals with normal plain ones and the expensive furniture in the room, I also changed them as well..After that, I teleported back to my house in the witch world and gathered some of my stuff and went back to my new place..
After arranging my stuffs, I went to bed.. As I laid down on my bed, my mind began to wonder about what Rose said.. Could Riley be really married? The thought of that maid me jealous.. What kind of woman could he possibly marry? And to think that the b*tch would be also having that kind of treatment I got from Riley and not to forget how good Riley was in bed.. Oh.. I’ve really missed his touch.. It’s been long since I’ve had any intimacy after Riley and I broke up, I haven’t really been with anyone since then.
As I was deep in thought, my mother’s necklace popped into my mind, I sat up instantly and searched my stuff, after minutes of search I finally found it..
After that, I went back to bed holding the necklace in my hands, I couldn’t believe I stashed it away after Riley and I broke up.. In that moment, Solomon appeared before me.

After Solomon vanished away, I covered myself and slept off.. Later that night as I was sleeping, I had a very unpleasant dream, in the dream, I was holding Riley in my hands crying, his chest was pierced with a knife and the soul taking Altros was hanging above us to take his soul away.. I quickly woke up after that breathing hard, I got out of the bed and ran out of the house running aimlessly straight into one forest close to my house.. I didn’t know who long I was running but I didn’t care.. After a while i stopped close to one tree to catch my breath. I sat down under the tree and began to cry.. I cry so hard that I soaked my face with tears.. What was that dream all about? And why was there a knife in Riley’s chest? Could it be that I was the one that killed him? It can’t be.. It can’t..
In that moment, I sensed something familiar, I stood up and looked around and gasped as I saw where I was.. I was in my favorite place.. The old Iroko tree. I couldn’t believe I was here. I didn’t know when I hugged the tree laughing to myself.. This place was the one place giving me comfort, For centuries this was my place of solace. I completely forgot about this place after that awful spilt with Riley.. Boy am I glad I came to this place.. I climbed the tree and sat on my special place, staring high up in the sky, the cold night wind ran through my hair.. Oh how I loved this feeling.. I sat on that tree branch all night enjoying my moment of peace and solace for the first time in 10 years.
Hours later, the sun rose up shimmering its bright sunny rays on the city of Ibadan, Soon, the birds 🐦 started chipping and soon the city was filled with sound and noises of people and vehicles. An hour later, I realized that the time for my new job so I quickly walked back to my new house and got myself prepared.
After a while, I got ready and left the house and went to my place of work, I realized I wasn’t far from the Iroko tree and also not far from Riley’s parents house. I thought to myself that this would be an opportunity for me to check him out but Solomon reminded me of the consequences, so I decided against that.
Soon, I was out on the street, I stood on the road for some time but there was no taxi besides this side of the road, there is no building or people just forest. So seeing that I would waste time here, I decided to walk until I found a taxi.
Minutes later, I got to a crowded place, though I don’t like crowds its sure nice to see the people of Ibadan for a change. It was sure nice to see how the place changed, what caught my attention was the way the forests were well taken care of, they were well trimmed and cared of, this made Ibadan look like a tourist side making it look outstanding. As I was walking on the road, I couldn’t help but notice I was being stared at, it was as if I was some kind of alien.. I immediately felt annoyed 😠 by this, i wonder what they’re looking at… If only a taxi would show up. In that moment, I realized that Rose had bought a car for me.. I was so in a hurry I forgot all about it.. In that moment, I summoned my long time demonic servant, Ovarkt.
This time around, I don’t need to say a magic word or find a safe place to summon him, over this past year my magic too was greatly improved and my power too was growing quite immensely, so this time I could summon Ovarkt with a thought.
Immediately I summoned him, Ovarkt appeared before me.

Ovarkt found one man on the side of the road and possessed his body.. After that, I gave him the key and he ran quickly back home.. I had to wait on the side of the road for him to bring me the car, whilst I was doing that, I saw a small boy close to me, staring at me, he looked like those orphaned kids, but he was also kind of cute. So I checked my purse and gave him a thousand naira note.. The boy smiled and thanked me.. Soon, a black car parked in front of me, Ovarkt came out and left the man’s body.. I couldn’t believe Rose bought me a ford jeep, the latest one in fact, If I had known I would have changed the car as well…
So I got into the car and drove off,…. Minutes later I got to the campus.. I was surprised to see it had changed as well. I soon got to the Art and humanities department, I parked my car at the lecturers parking lot and came out of the car, as I made my way to the history department, I was being stared at by the students, some things don’t really change.. It was the same when I started as a fresher.
Some of the students started gossiping about me, some said some unpleasant words, while some said crazy things.. These bastards were sure lucky that their lecturers weren’t witches like me cause they would have been carrying over their courses a hundred times over.
As soon as I got to the history department, I made my way to the administrators office..as I got there, I was received by a one of the staffs.

Amelia ➡ Hi, are you Mrs. Christen?

Christen ➡ Why yes..
.
Amelia ➡ Oh I’m Mrs. Amelia, the Faculty’s exam officer.. We’ve been expecting you.. Please follow me.

After that, Mrs. Amelia led me to one of the professors office, as I we got there, she asked me to wait outside.
As I waited outside, I saw a plaque on the door which said *Prof. Riley*, I was dazed when I saw that, Could it be….? Nah.. It couldn’t be..
Soon, Mrs. Amelia called me in to meet the Professor.. I took a deep breath and went in, the Professor was busy with his coffee when I got in, he didn’t even notice me, it was Mrs. Amelia that notified him. The moment, the Professor looked at me.. I felt a jolting shock down my spine.. I couldn’t believe it.. It was Riley, it was him all right but he looked a bit older, but what bothered me was, Why was he staring at me like that?
