Blake

Freya sat on her bed, tears streaming down her cheeks as Myra rushed into the room, concerned etched on her face. “Freya, why are you crying?” Myra asked, kneeling beside her.

Between sobs, Freya managed to say, “It’s Enzo… he’s not coming back home.” She hiccup and wiped her tears, trying to regain composure.

Myra’s heart sank at the words, but she tried to reassure Freya, “Don’t worry, he’ll be back. Enzo is a strong man, and he always finds a way.”

Freya shook her head, her voice trembling, “No, Myra, it’s different this time. I just spoke to him a few minutes ago, and he sounded so distant, as if he knew… as if he knew he was going to die tonight.”

Myra was left speechless, her mind racing with worry for her dear friend and the man she had come to trust as a powerful Mafia Lord. Despite his strength, she knew the dangers of his world.

With a heavy heart, Myra hugged Freya into her arms, hugging her so tight, trying to offer some comfort in the face of their uncertainty. “We can’t be sure of what will happen, but let’s hope for the best. Enzo is resourceful, and he has survived countless challenges before.”

Freya clung to Myra, seeking solace in her friend’s presence. “I just have this feeling, Myra, like some thing terrible is about to happen. I can’t lose him, I just can’t, especially not now we’ve only gotten to love each other more.”

Myra gently stroked Freya’s hair, tears forming in her own eyes. “I understand how you feel, Freya. I really do. Well, let’s just hope for the best. No matter what he is facing out there, or yet to face, let’s pray he conquers all.”

She taps her back gently. “Every thing is gonna be fine. I believe in Mr Vincenzo, I want you to believe in him to. And remember, you’re not alone in this. We’ll face whatever comes together.”

As the night wore on, the weight of uncertainty hung heavily in the air. Both Freya and Myra felt the minutes passing like hours, anxiously waiting for any sign of Vincenzo’s return. But he wasn’t showing any sign.

“Let’s go to the sitting room and await his return.” Myra said and together they trailed down to the sitting room.

There they sat hopelessly. Finally, a knock on the door broke the tense silence. Myra’s heart skipped a beat, and Freya held her breath as she hurried to open the door. Disappointed, it wasn’t Vincenzo at the door, it was one of his men.

“Where is Enzo?” She asked worriedly. “Why is he not here with you?”

“Mr Vincenzo is out on a mission, he’ll be back by tomorrow morning, hopefully.”

“Hopefully?” She asked. “Why hopefully?”

The young man sighed heavily. “Well, Miss Bred, we aren’t sure of his return. The man Mr Vincenzo is going to face isn’t just his mother’s killer, but Mexico’s most infamous Mafia Lord.”

Freya’s heart sank in fear as she listened. Mexico’s most infamous gangster? No wonder why Enzo sounded so cold? Because he wasn’t sure of his return?

“So he sent me here to look after you.”

“He’s facing the notorious Mafia because of his mother?”

“Yes, ma’am. It has always been his desire for years to haunt the one who killed his mother. I doubt he will give up on this.”

Only time can tell whether or not he will survive this fight. Just like Myra had said, all they can do is hope for his survival.

Myra held her hand. “It’s gonna be alright. Never lose hope. Okay?”

Vincenzo walked into the clubhouse alone. He didn’t want to pull attention, he was just going to confront Mr Blake and get to know why he had killed his mother.

So, he sat in the noisy building while his men stayed back in the cars, waiting for his orders. One of his spies whispered in his ear that Mr Blake was having a meeting with his friends who are also Mafia Lords.

His spy directed him to the room where Mr Blake was, “I’ll take it from here.” He said and they nodded his head before leaving.

He knocked on the door. The first two times, there came no response from the inside. When he was about to offer the third knock, some one opened the door. He gazed at him from head to toe, “Who are you? How may we help you?” Asked the gentleman at the door.

“I’m looking for Blake Shelton.” Vincenzo simply said.

“What’s your business with him?”

“My business with him is none of your business. Let me in if he is in there.”

“Well, I’m sorry, Mr Blake isn’t available at the moment. And since you have no reasonable reason for wanting to see him, I doubt your message will be passed to him.”

“Don’t try to play games with me, asshole, I know he’s in there.” Vincenzo growled.

The young man chuckled. “Do I look like I’m playing games with you? You should be grateful I am talking to you, you don’t even deserve a response. In short, who the fuck are you?”

“Who is that?” Blake’s voice sounded from the inside.

“Some kinda random dick who says he’s looking for you.” Said the young man, his gaze still on Vincenzo.

“Let him in.”

The young man shifted aside as he slowly opened the door for Vincenzo to enter. Vincenzo walked him, spared him a long glance before heading to Blake’s desk.

“You’re the random guy who wants to see me, huh?” Blake asked, puffing out the large amount of cigarette. “So, how may I help you?”

“I’m here to find answers.”

“What answers?”

“Do you remember this woman?” Vincenzo questioned, bringing out a picture of his late mother and pointing it at Blake. “You remember her, don’t you?”

Blake nonchalantly puffed another full smoke out from his nostrils and mouth. “I doubt I do.”

“Don’t you think about lying to me, Shelton.”

“So you do know my name. Poor thing I don’t even know yours.”

“My name doesn’t matter right now, what matters is you tell me why the heck you killed her!”

“Hey, you don’t yell at our boss like that. Have some respect, okay?” The guy who had opened the door said.

Vincenzo threw him an angry glare, “What, you wanna kill me?”

“Trust me, you don’t wanna see what I can do.” Vincenzo threatened, then he returned his gaze at Blake who only smiled at their drama.

“You know who my father is, don’t you?” Vincenzo questioned.

“I know a lot of people’s fathers. And mind you, you aren’t the first person to ask me this question.”

“Well, I’ll be the last to do so. His name is Polio Ferdinando, and this woman here, her name is Susan Ferdinando.” He leaned closer. “So, are you gonna answer the damn question, or are you gonna keep beating around the bush?”

“I have no business with the woman, my only business was with your father. And your father needs to explain to you exactly what happened.”

“He already did, and I’ve seen a thousand reasons why I have to kill you this instant.”

Blake laughed. “Kill me?” He kept laughing. His laughter irritated Vincenzo to the core. “I doubt you’ll even make it out here alive.”

“Why did you kill her?” It was obvious on his face that he couldn’t hold the anger he has for Blake.

“She was the only way to get to your father. He ambushed my men and killed a lot of them. I had to fight back, but then, it seemed your father was so much interested in having me dead. The only way to calm his nerves was your mother.”

“She has no business with what happened between you and my father.”

“You’re right, she definitely had nothing to do with it. But on the other hand, it really did help me. At least, I was able to calm your father down and have him leave both my men and I alone.”

Hearing all Blake said only made him angry the more. “Look, son, it’s better you forget this ever happened. But if you still want to know what really happened and why your mother had to get involved in this, then I suggest you talk to your father about it. He knows exactly what happened.”

“Do you think I would waste my time on this if it wasn’t so important to me? I have waited for years for you, what makes you think I’ll let this go like nothing happened?” He smirked. “Like you said, I’ll talk to my father, but that’ll be after I am done with you.”

Blake leaned his back on the chair, crossing his arms on his chest while he puffed on his cigarette. “I see. So what makes you think you’d be leaving here alive? After all, you’re the only one here.”

“Now here’s where you’ve got things wrong. Why would you think I would show up alone? I’m a mafia dick ass, you should have known that by now.”

“Let’s see how tonight goes then.”

Vincenzo smirked.

The guy who had opened the door, slowly walked behind him but he didn’t know Vincenzo noticed his movement. Before he could do any thing, Vincenzo grabbed his hand, taking the gun from his hold.

“If I were you, I wouldn’t have made a move.” Vincenzo pulled the trigger on his forehead, sending the guy to the ground. “Any one else?”

“What are you all standing there for? Kill the motherfucker!” Blake yelled at the guards who stood there. “Now!”
