Saving Freya!

This time around, Vincenzo was determined to make her suffer for her rudeness. He cared less about her and didn’t mind if she had eaten or not. This was what Kelly wanted after all, to see that she suffers, to see that she is in every way far away from Enzo.

The following day, Kelly was determined to carry out her dirty plans with Mr Polio since Vincenzo was out and would probably be returning late at night. Since he never went to the cell to check on Freya, he probably won’t know she isn’t in the mansion again.

They had sent guards on masks to take her out of the cell to an unknown warehouse where she’d stay for the time being before Mr Polio is ready to leave the state. But unknown to them, Olsen has a spy who has been living among them, reporting every information about them.

He reported Kelly’s plan to Olsen who seized the opportunity to carry out his own plan, adopting Freya from them and taking her to his home. After all is settled with, he’ll come back for the Ferdinando family.

The guards walked into the cell, when Freya was about to scream, they knocked her out, causing her to pass out in order to carry out their plan successfully.

They took her to the black car waiting outside. Meanwhile, Myra had seen them but hid at a corner so they wouldn’t notice her. The car drove out of the compound at great speed, Kelly feeling at ease. Myra suspected Kelly had a hand in this, but she already bowed to herself not to tell any one.

Even if she does want to tell Vincenzo, he wouldn’t believe her. After all, she’s just a maid with no freedom of speech.

However, the car parked at a warehouse, Olsen’s car stopped at a corner but he could see as they carried Freya’s unconscious body into the warehouse. He was timing them, waiting patiently for night to come in order to carry out his plan.

He ordered his men to wait for his order before they attacked. Night approached slowly, and time was beginning to piss him off. He knew he can’t attack at the moment, he needed darkness, that’s when he does his tasks neatly.

It’s been long since he looked at Freya’s face. He can’t forgive himself for what he’s done. His actions has brought her in this mess, putting her into the endless torture of his enemy’s hands.

He is quite sure Freya won’t forgive him, but nevertheless, it’s his duty to save her. Take her place then suffer for his own crimes while she lives a happy life. Meanwhile, he has already worked her papers, she’ll probably be flying to London tomorrow or the next.

Night finally came. Olsen took a deep breath. “This isn’t your first war, Olsen, you can do this.” He encouraged himself. “Guards on position.”

“We can hear you, sir.” Daniel, his assistant said.

“On my count, One. Two. Three. Attack.” The men all left their hiding place, blasting fires at the guards who stood outside.

Olsen stepped out of the car. While they killed the guards, he majestically made his way into the warehouse. He wasn’t putting on a smile. One man came to hit him, Dani did the job, shooting a bullet on his forehead.

“Find your sister, we’ll handle it.” Daniel said,

Olsen nodded his head, making his way in. He can’t wait to look at her face, to hold her in his arms like before. He had made a promise to her, but sadly he broke it. Bittered, he promised never to rest not until he has her back in his life.

He was familiar with the warehouse, Vincenzo had brought him here once while in high school. They would come after school when no one was around, playing Mafia movies all the time. So, he knows where they had taken his sister to.

He walked to the inner room, standing before the door. The guards glared at him from head to toe. “Who are you?”

“It’s better if you don’t know who I am. I’m here for the girl, hand her over to me.” He demanded.

“On whose orders?” One questioned.

“Mine.” Before they could grab their pistol, Olsen had grabbed his small knives, throwing it at them. He offered a knock on the door, and some one came to open it. He pushed the door with his leg, causing the guard to fall.

He walked in, and the room was in chaos as they kept exchanging bullets. He sighted Freya who was still unconscious. Seeing her state, he was vexed, sending all men to their graves.

He went to her side, loosening the ropes they had used to tie her. He squatted down, cupping her face with his hands. He was crying, she wasn’t looking the same way she was before. Even without being told, he could tell how much she had suffered under the roof of the Ferdinandos.

He carried her in his arms, leaving the warehouse for his car. He gently drops her at the back seat of the car, ordering the driver to take them out.

At his home, he laid her on his bed, sitting on the couch adjacent to the bed, staring at her face while she slept. Her fingers moved, her eyelids blinked while her eyes were still closed. He left the couch to her side, holding her cold hands.

“Freya?” He called in a whisper.

Her eyes halfway opened, then closed back. After a second, they were fully opened. She glared around the room, only to find herself some where but not the cell. The room was having a familiar scent of some she knows, some one so dear to her.

She jerked up, meeting Olsen’s eyes staring at her. “What the hell am I doing here?” She growled, taking her hand off him. “Get the f+k away from me, you monster.”

“Freya…”

“I don’t need your explanations, Olsen, I just wanna get the fuck out of you. I don’t want you, okay. Just stay clear from my life.”

“Are you gonna push me away from your side when I managed to save your life?”

“Oh, managed?” She scoffed. “You know, when I desperately wanted your help, but now, I don’t need it any more. It’s better off leaving a rotting life with the Ferdinandos than with some one I thought is the best thing in my life.”

“But…”

“I wanna be alone, Olsen. Leave.”

“Freya…”

“Or do you want me to leave instead?”

“Fine, I’ll leave you.” He stood up, looking at her with pains and apologies but Freya looked away, throwing her gaze at the window.

As soon as he left, she couldn’t hold the tears back, bursted out crying. It hurts, you know. It hurts so much. After so many days and weeks, after all she’s been through, he finally showed up. He wasn’t there when she needed him, he was never there when she hoped for him to show up.

And unexpectedly, he shows up, expecting her to act normal like nothing ever happened?

“I hate you, Olsen!” She cried. “I hate you, so so much.”

However, Olsen stood at the sit-out of his room, staring out of nowhere. He hated himself for so many reasons, for letting the one person that matters a lot in his heart down. His blood. His only world. He knows he hasn’t been a good brother lately, but yet, she was every thing to him.

Her position in his heart was some thing even his girlfriend couldn’t take over.

Daniel walked into his room after several knocks that went unanswered. He didn’t see him in his room so he decided to check on him at the sit-out.

“She was every thing to me, but I took her for granted.” He said, regrets stained in his voice. “I should have been there for her. I shouldn’t have rested until I had her. I let him take her, I let him torture her. Now, she sees me as the real monster.”

“I understand, Olsen, and it’s not your fault.”

“No, Dani, it’s my fault. I caused all these. If I hadn’t killed Danto, none of these would have happened to her. I don’t regret killing the bastard, I regret not keeping her safe after the incident.”

“Look, I’m not trying to say this because it’s you, or just for the sake of our friendship. I’m gonna be honest with you, I don’t blame you, I don’t see any of these as your fault. You did what you could to protect your sister, you tried your best. I watch you work hard day and night just to have her back. You didn’t stop thinking of a plan, you didn’t stop fighting for her freedom.”

He went to his side, holding his shoulder. “I don’t think Freya hates you, I think she just wants to have her privacy and think about every thing that happened. The pain she has received without you by her side. You don’t have to worry, Olsen, she’ll get over with it by tomorrow morning.” He assured him. “Get some sleep, mate, it’s late.”

He tapped his shoulder before leaving for Freya’s room. He knocked on the door, “Just go away, Olsen. I don’t want to look at your face.”

“It’s me, Freya. Daniel.”

“Did he send you here to talk to me?” She asked.

“He doesn’t know I’m here.” She hesitated before going to open the door. “Hi.” He waved a smile at her. “Mind if I come in?”

She shifted aside for him to enter. “I know we haven’t met officially, but I’m Olsen’s assistant.”

“In whatever business?”

He chuckled. “You can say that again.”

“Why are you here?” She asked, not interested in the introduction.

“I came to talk to you.” She rolled her eyes. “And like I said, your brother has no idea about this. He’s definitely gonna kill me if he finds out I’m here.”

“So, why are you here then?” She crossed her arms around her chest.

“Because I wanna talk to you.”

“Okay. I’m listening.”

“Look, I’m not trying to side any one, and I’m definitely not gonna say it’s Olsen’s fault either. Not just as his assistant, but as a friend who knows his best friend, I’m gonna tell you this, Olsen never stopped since the night you were taken. He hardly sleeps, he barely eats because all his attention was to come up with a plan to get you.

Haven’t you wondered how he was able to save you from those men? He has a spy in the mansion, some one who is always keeping an eye on you, sending information to us. We had wanted to come at the initial time, but then Vincenzo had the cell password changed. That was before he made you his personal maid.“

A tear dropped on her cheek as she listened to his words. She had wanted to doubt him, but when he mentioned Vincenzo changing the cell password and making her his maid, she believed he was telling the truth.

“Olsen wouldn’t even listen to me each time I tell him to take a break. When we got the information that you were taken out from the cell, we knew it was time to bring you home. He knew that more than we do. I’m not saying this to convince you because of my friendship with your brother, I just want you to know the truth. It wasn’t me, it wasn’t our men who saved you, Olsen did.”

Freya was already crying. She had spent days, weeks, hating him for forgetting her, little did she know he had eyes on her, watching her. Even when taken away from him, he was with her.

“I’ll leave you to get some sleep. Good night.” He left, and she fell to the ground, crying like a child. Her heart was broken, what if she had told them where he was? What if she had exposed his hiding?

She couldn’t stop hating herself. The shame to face him clouded her face. What is she? An ungrateful sister. A sister who didn’t care to give him a chance to explain himself.

“You’re a pig, Freya! So ungrateful, heartless! What kind of human being are you? Why can’t you learn? Why can’t you understand?” She slapped her forehead. “I hate you, Freya. It’s you I hate!”

She couldn’t sleep, it was far from her eyes. She spent the night awake, hoping Olsen would be able to forgive her the following day.

Olsen, on the other hand, spent his night thinking on how to get Freya to forgive him, to see how much he worked to bring her home. How he had worked hard to see that any moment from the day, she’d be out of the state for good, free from the Ferdinandos.

How is he gonna make her believe he didn’t forget her? How is he gonna put the words to convince her that he isn’t what she thinks? How? How is he gonna make her understand he isn’t the monster she thinks he is. Will she ever trust him again?
