Gracie’s Pov:
I hugged daddy tightly as he handed the bag of new clothes to me.
“Thank you so much daddy” I said in excitement as I pecked him.
“You’re welcome darling…. I want you to wear the best prom dress on that day” Dad said as I giggled.
“I don’t know how to thank you daddy… This is the best day of my life” I said as I quickly opened the bag taking a look at the expensive dresses.
“Miss Gracie! Your bowl of potato chips” One of the maids said placing the bowl on a stool in front of me.
I smiled broadly at her.
“Thank you” I said as I picked up the chips and ate giving it a crunching sounds.
“I’ll go upstairs darling” Dad said as he headed towards the stairs.
“Alright dad! Thank you so much once again” I chuckled as he smiled at me
For the first time, I feel so loved and cared for.
I’ve never been treated or felt this way.
My whole life was filled with hardship and suffering.
I smiled broadly as I continue taking a look at the expensive dresses.
This is beautiful!
The school prom is going to be so much fun 😘
I can’t wait to text Mona and tell her of my new dresses.
I quickly picked up my cell phone.
Cassandra’s Pov:
I sat on the bed with my laptop on my laps.
“Dammit! This stupid laptop is annoying” I yelled
I think it’s faulty.
I can’t even fix it….
This is the most annoying place in the whole world.
Just then, I heard a knock on my door.
Who the fvck is it?
I grumbled as I opened the door.
No-one else but that stupid sibling of mine.

“What do you want?” I asked rudely
She was holding an old looking basket.
“What’s that smell? I feel like am gonna throw up” I said sharply.
“Come on let’s go and hawk dried fish” She said as I arched my eyebrows in confusion.
What the…..
“Are you being serious right now?” I scoffed in disbelief.
“You heard me! It’s time for hawking of dried fishes” She repeated.
I stared at her from head to toe in disgust.
Is she being serious right now?
I mean like she wants me to go hawk dried fish?
“Gross…You’re so stupid! How do you expect me Cassandra to go out there in the streets to hawk?” I asked in annoyance
“Cassandra this is our only way of survival” She said.
I clapped my hands in gossip manner and scoffed.
“You must be crazy…. Here I am busy browsing out the most expensive and beautiful dress for the school prom and you ask me to go and hawk” I cried out.
“Cassandra we hardly take two square meal and here you are booking an expensive gown online” She said.
Anger burnt through me.
“Yuck! You are such a pin in @ss…. Now get lost” I screamed crazily as I slammed the door on her face.
Gosh!
This is the worst thing that has ever happened to me….
I can’t be from this God forsaken slum
I groaned in pain as I lay heavily on the bed.
Kill joy…. I muttered under my breath.
I really have to wear the most expensive ball gown for this prom.
I picked up the laptop and hit it again and again.

I stood in front of the mirror admiring myself
I look exceptionally beautiful in my expensive black ball gown.
Matching perfectly with the silver heels 👠and

Though the attire wasn’t as expensive as I want it to but it was manageable.
Just 30 thousand dollars 💵
I applied my makeup perfectly.
That was when I thought of my mommy.
I bet she would have called a makeup artist to apply my make up.
Just then… My cell phone rang aloud.
It was Lucy…
They are still my friends though they now think of me as poor.
📲Hello Cassie… Where are you?….. Lucy’s voice echoed out of my cell phone.
📲I’ll be there shortly… I replied and hung up.
I smirked wickedly.
I can’t wait to unleash my plans tonight.
Gracie is going to regret ever crossing my path.
This is going to be a memorable night for her.
I laughed hysterically.

I walked into the prom venue majestically.
All eyes were on me!
I’ve never been so happy…..
They all stared at me in admiration and astonishment.
I felt like a princess.
I actually have the most beautiful gown.
The thing is I haven’t seen that crazy girl Gracie.
My friends rushed to me and pecked me in excitement.
My shoulder was so high in pride.
“Uhmm… Gracie don’t you have a prom date?” Joann asked as they held hands with their boyfriends.
I gulped nervously.
Everyone has a date.
That was when I heard shrieking screams all over the place.
All the attention withdrew from me to entrance.
Who could that be?
I turned around….
To my greatest surprise, it was Gracie.
She got down from the glittering latest Range Rover Sport.
Jake held her hand.
She was putting on a very expensive shiny pink ball gown 😝You know pink is my favorite
She looked extremely stunning.
My jaw dropped in shock…..
