ROSSLYN
Mother and I walked to her room, we got in and she locked the door behind us.
“Rosslyn why did you bring him here?” She whispered.
“Him? You mean Fernando. Oh, we have a biology assignment and we were grouped together.” I replied smiling.
“I told you to stay away from him.” She said looking distressed.
“What the hell is going on Mother! I don’t get it anymore. We are just friends okay?” I said feeling angry already.
“He is a prince.” She said.
“I know.”
“But how did you know about that?” I asked staring at her.
“Rosslyn, you can’t understand.” She said.
“Make me! Cos if you don’t I won’t stay away from him because I love him!” I yelled.
“Oh no this is not good.” She said pacing around the room.
“Mother stop all of this. If you can’t tell me, can you let me go back to what he came here for?” I said angrily.
“Fine i will tell you.” She said sitting on the bed.
FLASHBACK
….. 20 YEARS AGO…..
KING EDWARD’S POV
“How is my baby fairing?” I asked kissing Vera’s large tummy.
“She is fine.” She replied smiling.
“He is a he.” I said making us laugh. We both sat on the bed and I saw her countenance change to a sad one.
“Vera are you okay?” I asked holding her hands.
“Have you settled scores with King Young?” She asked sadly.
“I haven’t.” I replied fuming in anger.
“Please my Lord. You don’t want any troubles right.” She replied holding my hands.
“I know but I can never let him rule this kingdom with his. Where is that done?” I asked angrily.
“I know, but for our own safety. You know how dangerous King Young is. Let’s just go somewhere far.
We will be fine. We have the money, all that it takes. Please my Lord, I can’t loose my first child. I can sense war coming.” She said kneeling in front of me.
“Vera get up.” I said pulling her up but she resisted.
“No, give me your word. Please..” She begged with tears in her eyes.
“Vera…. Okay, I give you my word.” I replied.
….. PRESENT….
ROSSLYN
I convinced your father to leave the throne, because I didn’t want to loose you.” She narrated in a shaky voice.
“I was a Princess?” I asked as tears rolled down my eyes.
“Yes Rosslyn and that is why you always had Royal dreams.” She answered nodding.
“But mother how does this relate to Fernando?” I asked.
“Fernando is his son.” She answered.
“What?” I exclaimed.
“Yes Rosslyn, so you need to stay away from him.” She said finally.
“No mother I won’t. That was a very long time ago and all is in the past now. Nothing can happen to me. Moreover, he haven’t see me before.” I said standing up.
“Rosslyn, me knowing you are with him will never put my mind at rest.” She replied.
“Mother don’t you worry. I will be fine and this will be a secret.” I said hugging her.
