[Present]*

El Crow’s scissors opened wide like a whale aiming to swallow a prey. He raised the weapon in the air, and it came down on her left chest—right on top of her heart just the way she stabbed him in Aftermoor.

Blood soaked her bodysuit in a round circle. Despite the leather material, the bloodiness still showed. Her blood was redder than any red existing. It trickled down the scissors metal to it’s handle, staining his palm.

But she didn’t scream.

She didn’t even make a sound.

It might have stopped raining, but it was still drizzling along with a harsh night wind which swept over them as their darkness dominated the cage.

When El Crow’s eyes went up to catch hers, she was smiling with her eyes and mouth, but immediately their eyes met, a grin of jest took over her mouth, echoing across the street.

“Stab me a million more times, El Crow. Dig out my heart, and I still won’t die. Aftermoor didn’t only give me the curse, I got healing ability along with it.” She grinned again.

El Crow roughly pulled the knife out.

Right in front of him, the stab wound closed up as if it was never there.

“What?” She lifted her lip. “Are you disappointed? disgusting thing?”

“I’m rather satisfied,” he took a step back, admiring the bloody scissors like a masterpiece for a silent minute before he brought it to his mouth.

Using his tongue, he licked her blood on the scissors, grinning. “You know what this means? Irritating whore?” He whispered with twitching eyes. “It means I get to stab you for as much as I want, and while you won’t die, the pain will be unavoidable.”

With that, he retook that one step and drove the scissors back into her chest—that same spot.

Skylar’s palms clenched.

She gave her tongue a deep bite to keep herself from crying out.

They held eyes since they’re exactly the same tall height, and he drove the scissors deeper into her.

“El Crow!!!” His name fell off her lips forcefully, shaking the cage.

“What?” He smiled, his small eyes nearly disappearing as he pushed the scissors in again. “Now you’re not so bold anymore? Don’t do that.”

“This is because of the peeing injection?” Her jaws tightened. “You shot me twice on my arm to revenge it. Did you forget? It was just a peeing injection for you, but you shot me twice on my arm, and for a whole year, I was grounded and couldn’t enter the ring cos my arm was literally paralyzed by your bullets!”

“Even if I excavate your bones, peel flesh off it and grind the bones to dust, you think it’s enough to placate me? You think it’s enough to pay for what you fuckin did to me?” El Crow’s vision blurred with madness. “Even if I put a bullet in every hole in your body, you think it’s enough!!?”

“You think you’re tough, right?” She laughed suddenly. “You look like a trauma child who’s afraid of the bogeyman with your floating bed. I heard your bed floats.”

“Same way I heard you’re a parentless, nameless orphan. Skylar Vox isn’t even your real name. It’s the name Satan gave your sorry arse!” He laughed right back at her face.

And that was it.

Skylar pulled against the chains once—the ones on her wrists and ankles.

She only pulled once.

The weird strength came again, snapping the chains off their chambers and freeing her.

Her palm went looped around his neck, pushing him till his back slammed the other corner of the cage metals. The metals dented, creaked and broke to pieces.

The cage roared.

Her eyes glowed a faint red as her palm locked tighter around his neck.

“I didn’t only get the curse and healing ability from Aftermoor. Now I think my strength is mysterious too, so be mindful of what you say to me!”

For a minute, El Crow stayed locked in her grip, looking at her faintly glinting eyes blankly, but in the next minute, he turned the tables.

His punch drove into her stomach, and that punch sent her flying across to the other side of the cage where her body crashed against the metals.

Every metal, rod, clips and strings connecting the cage together immediately fell apart.

The cage literally shattered.

Metals came crashing on her Skylar’s on the ground, but before they could reach her, she used her leg, kicked off the array of metals, and got up.

“See?” El Crow shrugged. “You’re not the only one with the mysterious strength and healing ability. You only thing you get to suffer alone is the heartache which you deserve.”

Skylar removed his scissors from her chest, dropped it and charged forward, but only a step was taken before her heart flared up again.

Her second palm gripped her chest, and her legs automatically weakened, sending her to her knees.

“Oh..hh!” She groaned, sweating, writhing, heating up.

El Crow’s steps were intentionally slow as he crossed to her.

The closer he came, the higher the heartache became for her.

Reaching her, El Crow went down on a slow squat.

The scissors stabs might have healed, but her sweet-smelling blood was still wet on her chest.

Using his scissors ends, El Crow touched the blood and brought it to his lips again, having a final taste.

“You have sweet blood, Skylar. You have to believe me.” He whispered tauntingly, scar widening.

“Urg..gh!” She writhed lower, her sweat dropping to the ground.

He cornered his head, watching her in abject pains and loving every minute of it.

This had to be his best view ever. If only there was a way to heighten it even more than it currently was.

Skylar grunted. It seemed like it’d get worse if he stayed too close for long, and it was happening now.

All of her system was weak. Even breathing well was a problem.

He only got up after watching her in pains for thirty long minutes.

He whistled with his mouth as he went down the upholder, swinging his bloodstained scissors.

Skylar’s heartache stopped.

Her body went solemnly calm.

She stood from her kneeling position, revealing her second palm with she held her chest with earlier.

On the palm, there’s a fragile paper wrap of a opaque liquid, but the paper is open now, and the liquid is flowing through her palm.

She intentionally held her chest with this same palm so this liquid would mix with her bloody chest.

The final blood he licked from her? It’ll be his doom.

Her lips lifted.

The smile was insane.

—

[Daybreak – Marisa Cesar’s Manor]

The mansion didn’t look like a home where to relieve oneself from the stress that comes with being a living thing. It didn’t look like a refuge for finding peace and serenity.

It looked like a forbidden fortress where only cries and sorrows were the allowed visitors, built in the middle of the woods of New Orleans.

No other house around.

It looked desolated and haunted, but despite these attributes, the wealth crafted into the erection was obvious.

It was a real horror wrapped in dark luxury and old money.

Trees with dry, spooky-looking branches surrounded the house within reachable perimeters while the rest of the woods have green vegetation from constant rainfall.

It seemed the surroundings of the house have been sucked away from fertility and liveliness.

Weird birds cried loudly on the trees, and few black butterflies were getting chased around by small snakes.

The front door of the manor peeled open. A figure entered slowly like a afflicted, scorned woman.

A woman.

She wore a flowing black dress with no visible designs. The dress was just there for wearing sake, but it was long, dragging the ruby-colour marble and leaving imprints of water like she was coming from the rain.

Her hair fell on her waist—dark and straight and healthy like a fresh bloom. She held a bow in her left hand. Water dripped from it too.

Her face looked like an aristocrat’s with the pointed nose, thin lips and the effortless attractiveness.

She’s beauty in poems.

A man and woman in steward uniforms rushed down the stairs.

At her sight, their eyes stretched.

“Ma!” They echoed.

“We were just about to call the cops when we didn’t see you on your room this morning!” The male said.

“You didn’t sleep in last night?” The female blinked, noticing her wet clothes. “You entered the rain? Ma!”

“You’re even barefoot!” The male stumped his shoes.

Marisa carefully hung her bow on the railings edge and went inside her study with a celestial-like walk.

The stewards exchanged glances before following her.

Getting in, they met her sitting in front of her black piano.

Most pianos have black and white keys to distinguish tunes, but hers was completely black.

“Why…” The female steward cleared her throat. “Ma, why were you in the rain? And what’s with the bow?”

Marisa stared at the piano keys till it blurred before thinking of answering in her soft but haunting voice.

“I saved my Tall Doll from rogues.”

“Tall Doll?” The stewards chorused and looked at each other, getting it. “The Dread fighter Skylar?”

“Do I have another Tall Doll?” She slipped the words out flawlessly.

“I guess Satan punished her again.” the male steward sighed. “That unlikable woman.”

“But you could have at least gone to save her with an umbrella.” The female steward complained. “Ma, rain in this city is dangerous at night. What if you get sick? Your birthday is in some days, we can’t risk it.”

Marisa didn’t reply to her. Her long lashes just went down.

“Prepare a new invite in her name. Send it over to Dread House.”

The stewards gasped.

“Invite for your Tall Doll? But you only invite fifty lucky people to your birthday banquet yearly, and we already sent out the fifty invites.”

“Send one more invite, I said,” Marisa muttered, still soft. “And label that invite as VVIP. She’ll be the only VVIP in my banquet this year.”

“What!” They gasped again.

Marisa said no more. She began playing her haunting piano tunes with closed eyes and wet fingers.

The stewards faced each other.

“She didn’t even invite her own son,” the female muttered carefully.

“Stop talking like he’s gonna come if she invited him. Ma hates him, and he hates Ma equally,” the female said.

“True.” The male nodded.

—

[Enigma House – El Crow’s Suite]

El Crow stirred awake to a dense coldness beside himself.

Not the wet kind. It was a deathly coldness which made him tilt up fast.

There’s another person in bed with him—the slut he fucked last night.

She lay there, motionless, lifeless.

Cold as f+vk.

El Crow gripped the bed remote, pressed the suspension button, and the floating bed came down.

He got down and tapped the sl+t, but her body was already so boned

“The hell?” He tapped her again.

Same coldness.

Same numbness.

His breathings floated from his chest to his head, disorienting him.

“She’s dead?”

He didn’t bother wearing anything on his shirtless body. He left the room in his loose jean p+nts only.

By the door, he walked into Blade.

“Bro, you good?” Blade frowned at his sour face.

“Another one died.” He breathed.

Blade peeked inside the room, seeing the sl+t’s body in bed.

“Told you when the first one died, didn’t I?” He scoffed.

“Died?” Bishop joined. “Who died?”

“Check it out,” Blade shifted aside.

Bishop peeked in too.

“Oh, another dead slut? We told you, didn’t we?” He folded his arms.

El Crow rushed downstairs.

Lovato and Kent came up too. Seeing the body, they gasped together.

“Another body?”

“Can we not talk about it?” Blade brushed it off. “It’ll be settled soon. It started after he went to Aftermoor, and they should be able to find a solution to it with the witch.”

“Let me guess, Senior Castle is with Boss Arturo again?” Kent said.

“It’s obvious,” Bishop shrugged.

“I haven’t seen him this morning. I miss him, and I can’t wait for him to enter the ring with Roselle tonight.” Lovato bit her lip, sweeping her rough hair away from her face.

Bishop stared at her wordlessly, but his eyes blinked like he wanted to cry.

“C’mon, warmups!” Kent’s arm went around Lovato’s neck.

“You’re buying me cupcakes before we leave!” She grunted, dragging herself along with him.

“Anything!” Kent laughed before they went out of sight.

“I think she sees Senior Castle as her Team Father just the way she sees Kent as her bestie cos Kent is only two years older than her. Don’t think it too much.” Blade faced Bishop.

“Vato seeing Senior Castle as just her Team Father?” Bishop muttered, dryly. “We both know it’s more than that. Stop trying to baby me.”

With that, he walked off.

“Was just trying to be helpful…” Blade sighed, getting his phone to start doom-scrolling again.

—

[Arturo’s Office]

“The special guest at yesterday’s fight is still unknown?” Arturo said disappointedly, chin on his two conjoined fingers.

“I’ve never failed you with my investigations before, sir.” Castle replied guiltily.

He stood in front of Arturo’s desk, looking perplexed.

“This particular person has planted himself deep beyond the shadows, and his backdrops are so strong I can’t lift any.” He continued.

Arturo separated his fingers.

“So is he gonna remain hidden? Satan and Midnight respects him obviously, and whoever Satan and Midnight respects can be used against their team. I need to know who it is.”

“One more week is all I need,” Castle promised. “If I fail to fish him out in a week, fire me out of the team.”

“Are you crazy?” Arturo looked up. “Fire you? I’ll never do that to my Enigmas. I’m not Satan.”

“I’m sorry, sir.” Castle smiled.

“Take one week and be serious about it. I’m impatient.” Arturo said.

Castle nodded.

“You talked about people Satan and Midnight respect. It’s not only the anonymous special guest. They also respect your ex-wife Marisa like crazy.” Castle chuckled.

“Everyone in this city respects Marisa. Even me, I hold that madwoman in high regards.” Arturo relaxed. “But I can’t use her against Satan because I don’t ever want to have anything to do with Marisa. She hates me and our son anyways.”

“Also, she’s not giving Satan any attention. I heard Satan has been trying to get to meet her privately for years but kept failing, so Marisa is a no-go area.” Castle nodded slowly.

“Which means you really have to speed up the identification of the anonymous guest. Find out who he is within a week. At the same time, prepare adequately for your match tonight. Roselle is not easy.”

“I’m not easy too.” Castle uttered.

El Crow barged into the office.

“Another one died!” He threw the bomb. “Another slut in my bed!”

“What!” Castle sounded.

“Wait…” Arturo stood. “One died before? What’s going on?”

“You used the witch to wake me up from the dead, and now I can’t even live my life the way I fucking want it!” El Crow yelled. “I can’t fuck anymore now? What’s up?”

“Calm down and tell me everything!!” Arturo yelled.

“Man, don’t tell me to calm down!” El Crow spat, holding his head. “It’s boiling aggressively over here. I’m going to really run mad.”

“I’ll tell you everything.” Castle faced Arturo calmly.

—

[Dread House-Middle Tier]

Renee’s door finally opened this morning. She came out dressed casually, sporting a beanie cap.

At the same time, Quincy came out of his room. Their eyes met, but Renee pretended not to see him.

Quincy decided to not talk to her.

Her coming was already enough for him, so he just followed her behind closely in the hallway, but the teammates refused to keep quiet.

“Heard Roselle made Quincy eat Renee out till she squirted.”

“That’s fucked. Aren’t they siblings?”

“Roselle is messy.”

Renee didn’t act like she heard the comments. Quincy did the same.

“Tell me you can still taste your sister’s p+sy on your tongue, Quincy Adams!” Roselle suddenly shouted from the staircase of Top Tier.

Quincy stopped.

He wanted to look up, but he stopped himself and continued walking.

“Renee, don’t be a hypocrite. I’m sure you enjoyed your brother’s tongue!” Roy taunted beside Roselle.

Renee didn’t stop.

When she went out of sight with Quincy, Roselle and Roy laughed deeply like it was their last.

At the hallway, Rosita stood alone, pondering hard.

There are two trees around the Cage of Shame, and while she was watching from the first tree last night, someone from the second tree shot arrows at the rogues.

Who?

She’s so curious about who’d protect Skylar that professionally.

Who was it?

—

[Satan’s Office]

“Did you successfully invite the special guest to the underground tonight?” Saran questioned.

“No.” Midnight sighed. “He refused the three invites I sent, saying he’s not coming to waste his bet again.”

“But Roselle will be entering the ring with Castle! Roselle will beat Castle!” Satan spranged up.

“He didn’t care. He said if he’d be coming, he’d be coming to bet on Castle cos he believes in Team Enigma more than us now.”

“This shouldn’t be happening,” Satan took a deep breath, parading the office restlessly. “I’ve been trying for years to get connected to Marisa with no success. You mean I’m going to lose this one special person I have with me too? No. Arturo won’t take him away from us. Never.”

“Marisa’s birthday is in few days, and as usual, we didn’t get an invite.” Midnight mentioned.

Almost instantly, a Dread Army entered the office, bearing a letter.

A black invitation letter, wrapped with red VVIP ribbon.

“From Marisa Cesar.” The Army reported.

Satan snatched it and tore the ribbon impatiently, glad that it finally came, but the name on it made her eyes pause. Her breaths paused too.

“Skylar Vox?!”

—

[Cage of Shame]

It’s been four hours now since the day broke.

Four hours, and no one dared to come close to Skylar.

The cage had been broken to pieces from last night’s fight with El Crow. Even her chains have snapped and broke. The bodies of the rogues killed by the arrows were on the ground.

Everything served as warning.

Rogues filled the area, but none of them dared to come close.

It’s not everyday you get to see a shattered metal cage

It was beyond their knowledge.

They kept their distance. Even the cars and trucks driving by the four roads didn’t stop to watch her.

Skylar stood like a heroine, watching them with a frosty face which refused to absorb warmth.

“Skylar!!!!” Renee’s voice broke into the atmosphere, making her turn.

Renee climbed the upholder and raised her palm at Skylar…

“Beware that I’m not going to slap you back if you slap me. I’ll simply kill you.” Skylar warned.

Renee’s hand went down, and her fingers grabbed Skylar by the shoulders accusingly.

Tears fell off her eyes.

“Because of you!!!!” She screamed devastatingly. “Because of you, I was made to go intimate with my brother! If Quincy didn’t send you the note, that wouldn’t have happened to us, bi+ch! It’s all your fuckin fault!!!”

Her tears went loud like a baby’s, and her grip on Skylar wringed. “You’re a bad omen!!! I hate you for making this happen to my brother and I!!!”

“Renee!” Quincy appeared, climbing up and pulling her away from Skylar.

“Leave me alone!!!!!” She screamed, struggling with him, hitting his chest, face, legs. “Go away!!!!!!!!”

“Renee!” Quincy cried her name.

“I…” Renee started, hiccuping with complete breathlessness. “I feel so ashamed, Quincy….” She muttered, going down unexpectedly.

“Renee!” Quincy lifted her unconscious body. “Renee!”

No answer.

He positioned her well in his arms, then he looked at Skylar.

“I’ll make Roselle pay.” She gritted.

Quincy nodded.

“I’ll count on that.”

Then he took Renee away.

—

[Ayana’s House]

Arturo decided it was time to come back to this house after what Castle explained to him about El Crow.

He came with El Crow, and now they’re both seated on different sofas in the formless house.

This time, there’s a room full of animal-skin sofas. Last time they came, there was nothing like this.

But less wouldn’t be expected from the best witch in New Orleans.

She was already present even before they came. She didn’t sit. She stood in their middle, focused.

“Roselle was in love with you before you both went to Aftermoor, and in Aftermoor, she went intimate with you. Your soul bond is expected to be stronger than ever.” She said.

“In love?” El Crow stood. “She was an obsessed idiot!”

“Roselle has never been obsessed,” Ayana talked. “It’s love. I didn’t smell obsession from her the last time we talked. She was willing to give her body parts to bring you back to life.”

“I don’t care!” El Crow snarled angrily. “Ruin the soul bond!”

“Can you do that?” Arturo asked.

Ayana faced them.

“Aftermoor rules was woven by Inferno himself. It’s not in my place to change them. Even Inferno himself would never bend his rules.”

“What does that mean?” El Crow breathed harshly.

“Your soul bond is only just beginning,” Ayana said. “It’ll get to a point where you’ll start feeling her pains and happiness, and it’ll also get to a point where you won’t be able to breathe without her. And yes, every female you get intimate with is going to die. She’s the only one you’re allowed to share intimacy with.”

“Impossible!” Arturo shot.

El Crow left the house without another word.

“El!” Arturo followed him.

“I’m going to kill Roselle and end this,” El Crow hissed when they got outside. “She does not possess the mysterious strength like the caged whore and I, so she’s killable. I’m killing her, end of story.”

“Listen to me!” Arturo held him.

El Crow wanted to tear his grip away, but before he could do that…

“Wait…” Arturo frowned. “Why the fuck are you sweating blood?”

El Crow’s face bent into a frown too.

Arturo got a white hanky and wiped El Crow’s face with it.

Blood.

“You gotta be kidding me,” El Crow muttered unbelievably.

— — —

[Underground Ring]

At 7PM, the night was set to get dangerously heated again.

“Roselle!!!!!!!!”

“Castle!!!”

The scream of Roselle is more because Castle barely entered the ring. The two times he entered the ring was with Middle Tiers of Dread, and he easily beat them.

He was mostly with Arturo. He didn’t do frequent fights like the others, so his strength is unknown.

It’s his first serious fight, and with Roselle of all people.

Castle stood in the middle of the ring with his glasses still on.

Roselle jumped in proudly, grinning. “You’re seriously fighting me with your glasses on? Do you want to lose your sight completely?”

The crowd laughed, but Castle kept his cool, making sure his fighting gloves is strapped tight.

The announcer announced the start of the match, and the crowd went silent as the two lunged for each other like hunting lions.

Roselle’s first blow was aimed at Castle’s eyes, but he swayed and took the blow with his shoulder.

He screeched back and returned the blow to Roselle’s face.

She lurched sideways, retook her stand, and lunged back to him.

Castle blocked her first punch with his hand side.

He blocked the second one with his elbow.

But the third one….he didn’t escape.

It met his mouth, and his bottom lip split, spilling blood.

“Senior Castle!” Lovato panicked from the crowd.

Roselle twisted and sent the second hit to Castle’s jaw.

He staggered to the wide where another hit met him on the belly. He held the strings for balance.

Roselle rushed him, delivering five kicks to his power points—rib, underbelly, chest, thighs, and arms.

She delivered all of it without stopping till Castle had to tangle himself with the strings.

“Roselle!!!” The crowd roared.

“Knew it’d be a piece of chocolate cake,” Roy smiled.

Lovato panicked more, biting into her nails.

Castle kept leaning on the strings as if catching his breaths. But, slowly, he removed his glasses.

“Oh no,” Blade said. “He removed his restriction glasses?”

“It’s over.” Kent added.

Bishop added nothing. He could only stare at panicking Lovato.

Roselle came for Castle again, aiming to slam him the finishing kick that’d bring him down, but Castle grabbed that leg by the ankle, and with it, he swirled and threw her around like a fast plugged rolling fan.

The crowd’s jaws fell when Castle threw her off.

Roselle landed on the ground far from him, but he slid to her on his boots and intentionally fell on her stomach with his knees.

The moment his knees stabbed Roselle’s stomach, her menstrual blood spilled out from between her legs, wetting the ring ground.

She opened her mouth to scream, but she could only open it.

No sound.

Her eyes closed.

“Yesssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” The underground combusted with screams from the Enigmas and shocked crowd of bettors.

“Shit!” Roy’s eyes popped.

“That was a peak show,” Rosita mumbled satisfactorily.

While Enigmas entered the ring to congratulate Castle, medics entered the ring to take Roselle.

Lovato hugged Castle tight before any other Enigma could hug him.

“Thanks for making me proud, Senior Castle.” She gushed.

“I always will.” He smiled.

At the base of the ring, Blade and Kent and Bishop stood, waiting to congratulate Castle whenever he came out of the ring.

“Knew it was over the moment he removed his glasses.” Blade said.

“Roselle didn’t see it coming, I bet.” Kent laughed.

—

[Dread House]

Roselle wouldn’t wake up. She was barely even breathing.

Her blood didn’t stop gushing out of her vaginal hole.

Satan refused to let her be taken to the team hospital, so she was brought here by Armies of Dread.

“She didn’t tell me she’s on her period. I wouldn’t have let her enter the ring.” Satan said.

“Maybe she wasn’t expecting the period to come too.” Midnight defended smoothly.

“Send someone to get Skylar.”

That was arranged immediately. Few Armies went to get Skylar.

In ten minutes, they came back with her and took her to the room where Roselle lay unconscious.

Midnight did the pipe setting.

A pipe was passed from Skylar’s body to Roselle’s body.

The blood transfusion started.

From Skylar to Roselle.

Skylar thought of offing everyone in this room brutally, but it seemed like her new mysterious strength only worked on El Crow for now.

So, as usual, she sat and did the transfusion to Roselle.

There were two mysterious blood type in this world.

Apex blood and Null blood.

Apex was the sweet-smelling, delicious, extra-red blood type.

Null was the scentless, tasteless, faint-red blood type.

A female with Null blood would bleed to death on her period unless she gets transfused with Apex blood.

It means Null blood type can’t survive without Apex blood.

Skylar was Apex.

Roselle and Rosita were Null.

Skylar found out this secret long ago.

The main reason she was stolen from her home and brought here was to be a blood bank to Satan’s twins.

She’s the life of the twins.
