Leonard was leaning closer.
So close that Giselle could feel the warmth of his breath against her lips.
His hand tightened slightly on her waist, his eyes dark, unreadable — as if he was deciding something dangerous.
And then—
His phone rang.
Sharp. Loud. Jarring.
The spell shattered instantly.
Leonard froze.
Giselle blinked, irritation flashing across her face. “Seriously?” she muttered under her breath.
The phone kept vibrating in his pocket.
He didn’t move at first. His eyes stayed locked on hers, tension thick between them.
The screen lit up.
LIONEL CALLING
He glanced at the screen again before answering.
“Yes?” His voice was calm. Too calm.
” Leo! please come back am scared ,Eva has locked herself in her room she’s isn’t saying anything .Too quiet.” Lionel said worriedly.
Leonard expression softened immediately, Giselle noticed it.
” I’m coming.” Leonard replied disconnecting the call , he quickly buttoned his shirt and turned to leave but Giselle held his hand stopping him.
‘ You look worried , What happened?” Giselle asked concerned.
” Eva , She locked herself in her room .” Leonard replied.
” I’m going ” .
” Okay ,” he agreed , they both walked out together , slid into the car and drove away.
CLIFFORD’S MANSION “
Lionel are Daniel are standing outside Eva’s room trying their possible best to make her open the door.
” Eva stop being childish and open the goddamn door .” Lionel said knocking on the door relentlessly.
” Eva am really disappointed in you , I thought you were brave but you turned out to be a weakling. You’re punishing yourself just cos a guy rejected you!” Daniel said, disappointed.
” Daniel!” Eva voice rattled from the room.
” At least we know she’s alive ,” Lionel smiled.
” Yeah ” Daniel nodded ” Open the door Eva , who am I going to make fun of if you remain locked inside ,” .
“If you don’t open this door I’ll kill myself,” Daniel added.
Lionel smirked facing Daniel then he patted his shoulder playfully ” I’ll do the honors of choosing a coffin befitting you .”
Daniel jerked his hands away immediately ” Dude! you have finally shown your true colors , you want me to die so you would have all the girls to yourself . There’s no way am dieing anytime soon .”
” I was just kidding don’t take it to personal,” Lionel scoffed tucking his hands into his pocket.
Leonard and Giselle appeared at the far end of the hallway just as Daniel finished grumbling.
Leonard’s footsteps were calm but firm — the kind that commanded attention without trying.
“What’s going on?” he asked, eyes sweeping across Lionel and Daniel before settling on the closed door.
Lionel exhaled. “She locked herself in. She’s been quiet for almost thirty minutes. She won’t answer properly.”
Giselle frowned. “Eva?”
From inside, there was silence.
Leonard walked closer to the door and knocked — not aggressively like the others had done, but steady. Controlled.
“Eva. It’s me.”
Nothing.
He leaned slightly closer. “Open the door.”
Inside the room, Eva’s shaky voice finally came. “Go away.”
Leonard’s jaw tightened. “No.”
Daniel scratched his head awkwardly. “Okay maybe I shouldn’t have called you a weakling.”
Lionel muttered, “Definitely shouldn’t have.”
Leonard placed his palm flat against the door. His voice lowered — softer now. “You don’t get to shut us out because someone else hurt you.”
That struck something.
The lock clicked.
The door opened slowly.
Eva stood there, eyes slightly red, pride still holding her together.
Leonard was about to step forward, but Giselle gently touched his arm.
“Let me,” she whispered.
He hesitated… then nodded.
Giselle walked into the room and quietly shut the door behind her, leaving the boys outside.
Inside, the room felt heavy.
Eva turned away immediately. “I’m fine.”
Giselle didn’t argue.
She walked closer, sat on the edge of the bed, and spoke softly.
” You’re aren’t”.
Eva burst into tears again, pacing the room.
“I thought he liked me! He even kissed me,” she cried. “And then I confessed in front of everyone like a fool and he turned me down. I’m so embarrassed.” Her voice cracked. “Maybe Pinky was right. Maybe I’m the problem. I shouldn’t have listened to Tate. Her idea sucked.”
Giselle stood up immediately and walked to her.
“Hey. Stop.” Her tone wasn’t harsh, but it was firm. She gently held Eva’s shoulders. “Don’t you dare call yourself that.”
Eva sniffed, avoiding her eyes.
“To be honest,” Giselle continued, softer now, “even if you asked me for advice, I would’ve given you the same one Tate did.”
Eva blinked in shock. “What?”
“Yes,” Giselle nodded. “It takes courage to confess your feelings. Real courage. Most people hide and pretend they don’t care. You didn’t.”
Eva sat down heavily on the bed. “It doesn’t feel brave. It feels humiliating.”
“Rejection always feels like that,” Giselle admitted. “But it doesn’t mean you’re less.”
Eva hesitated, then muttered, “He’s handsome though.”
Giselle raised a brow. “Oh?”
Eva quickly grabbed her phone. “Wait, let me show you.”
She unlocked it and scrolled, then turned the screen toward Giselle.
Giselle leaned in .
On the screen was Jeremy .
Giselle’s expression changed instantly and she swallowed nothing down her throat , tears filled her eyes instantly but she made sure it didn’t fall.
Without a word she walked out of the mansion completely ignoring Lionel and Daniel.
Leonard is in his room , he knows what’s happening cos he was watching everything on his laptop like a Cinema.
” Weird ” Eva muttered.

Meanwhile in the highway Giselle was driving, her face is expressionless but calm.
[ 4 Years Earlier ,BAR]
Giselle’s eyes snapped open.
The sound of a belt cracking through the air still echoed in her mind. Her body felt heavy, sore.
She wasn’t naked anymore.
An oversized shirt hung loosely on her frame.
The room was silent. The men were gone.
Her memory was blurry.
She slowly swung her legs off the bed and stood up, wincing.
Then she saw it.
A reddish liquid pooled on the floor.
Blood.
Her heart slammed violently against her ribs.
There was blood everywhere — on the sheets, on the wall — like someone had been thrown around like a rag doll.
Her breath hitched.
What happened last night?
Her palm flew to her mouth. Panic surged through her veins. Without looking back, she grabbed her bag and ran.
Outside, she flagged down a cab. She threw a dollar at the driver once they reached her apartment and rushed out.
She walked inside quickly.
Her father — William — was there.
Drunk.
As usual.
He squinted at her. “Evelyn!” he slurred, stumbling toward her.
He mistook her for her mother again.
He reached out to touch her face.
Giselle’s hand shot up, stopping him mid-air.
“I swear,” she said coldly, eyes blazing, “if you touch me, I’ll break your bones.”
Her gaze held no fear anymore.
Something inside her had snapped.
“Evelyn… shush. I’m your husband. I have every damn right to touch you,” William barked.
He stepped closer and shoved her hard against the wall.
Before she could react, he tried to force his lips onto hers.
Giselle struggled, fury flooding her veins.
When she realized words wouldn’t work, she drove her knee up hard.
William groaned, clutching himself as he staggered back.
“I warned you,” she spat.
Then suddenly—
He collapsed.
A brown-haired boy stood at the doorway.
Twelve years old.
Jeremy.
“D… Dad?” His voice trembled.
His eyes moved from William’s unconscious body… to Giselle.
Pain sliced through her chest.
She rushed to him and wrapped her arms around him.
“Jeremy, let’s leave. They’re not humans… they’re monsters.”
He shoved her away.
“I hate you!” he shouted. “You hurt Dad!”
He ran to William’s side.
Something inside Giselle shattered.
“You know what?” she said through trembling lips. “I don’t have a family anymore. William is not my father. Evelyn is not my mother. And you… Jeremy… you’re not my brother.”
Her voice broke.
“I expected more from you. After all the love I gave you.”
“I didn’t ask for your love!” Jeremy snapped. “Dad and Mom were right. You’re a burden. A bad person.”
Those words cut deeper than any belt.
Tears streamed down Giselle’s face.
Without another word, she walked out.
And she never looked back.

Present
Giselle’s car glided into her mansion driveway.
She didn’t move immediately.
Her phone rang.
The screen lit up.
TATE CALLING.
She stared at it for a moment before answering.
“Hello.” Her voice was cold. Controlled.
“I think I deserve a thank you,” Tate teased. “Actually, I should thank you too…”
“For what?” Giselle cut in sharply.
“For helping me take revenge on Aimee. Feels good, doesn’t it?
Silence.
Then—
“You insane little witch,” Giselle said icily. “I’ll talk to you later. I’m not in the mood.”
She hung up.
She heard Tate’s soft chuckle before the line went dead.
Giselle stepped out of the car.
Her expression was unreadable.
Giselle had barely taken a few steps toward the mansion when her phone vibrated.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
Four.
Five.
She exhaled slowly before checking.
Leo.
She opened the messages.
Leo: You left without saying goodbye.
Leo: That’s rude, Short witch.
Leo: The mansion feels colder already.
Leo: I didn’t realize I’d get used to your presence this fast.
Leo: Come back. I miss seeing your face.
Her fingers froze over the screen.
Her heart betrayed her with a faint, irritating flutter.
“Unbelievable,” she muttered… but there was no real anger in her voice.
She locked the phone and slipped it into her pocket.
The night breeze swept across the driveway.
The body guards by the gate shifted slightly.
“Ma’am, we’ll remain outside,” one of them said politely. “It’s fine.”
Giselle glanced at the dark sky.
The wind was biting.
“You can come inside,” she said calmly.
They hesitated. “It’s alright, ma’am. We’re used to it.”
After a bit of persuasion they all followed her in , they moved like they were marching in battle.
They were three much.
Even the president doesn’t have this kind of security Oops army.
LIAM’S MANSION*
Giselle disconnected the call, Tate chuckled then she turned to the door.
Her eyes widened .
Liam was there backing the door , he looks disappointed.
Tate went on her knees immediately and she held her ear pouting “I’m sorry baby .”
Liam nearly burst into laughter.
There’s no way he would stay angry at her , no matter how many uncountable promises she breaks.
She was his.
his girl.
And that had always been his weakness.
He crouched down in front of her, brushing a loose strand of hair away from her face.
“You’re impossible,” he said softly.
But there was no anger left in his eyes.
Only surrender.
” I love you Liam ” Tate confessed cupping his cheeks passionately.
” I love you too Tate .” Liam smirked leaning closer .
Their lips met in a kiss that was both tender and desperate — like they had been holding back too much for too long.
She tightened her hold on him, pulling him closer as if afraid he might disappear.
Liam’s hand slid to her waist, steady and possessive, as their kiss deepened — slow, warm, unhurried.
There was hunger there.
Reckless
Wild.
Just the kind that comes from knowing someone belongs to you… and choosing them anyway.
Next moment , he dropped her gently on the bed .
Her moans filled the air.
[ NEXT MORNING, PINKPOP MANSION]
VINCENT’S ROOM*
Steam filled the bathroom, curling against the mirrors and tiles.
Water ran steadily from the shower.
Vincent stood beneath it, eyes closed, letting the heat calm the storm in his head.
For once, it was quiet.
Peaceful.
Then—
The bathroom door creaked open.
Vincent’s eyes snapped open instantly.
“Who’s there?” His voice was sharp.
The steam shifted, and through the haze—
Rumi stepped inside.
Unannounced.Unbothered.
Vincent quickly wrapped a towel around his waist ” You ” .
” Yeah me ” She winked.
” You could have just knocked,” he said politely but he was obviously irritated and she noticed it which caused her to frown.
Who cares.
” I want to shower ” Rumi said with an eye roll.
She stripped fully and Vincent’s eyes widened as he watched her go into the bath tub.
His eyes really deceived him cos they weren’t ready to look away.
His eyes temptingly remained on her pink n1pples , she pierced it.
Vincent innocently rushed out .
” Cute ” Rumi smiled splashing water on herself.
CLIFFORD’S ENTERPRISE*
The black car rolled to a smooth stop in front of Clifford Construction.
Before the driver could even open the door, Leonard stepped out on his own.
Sharp suit. Dark glasses. Effortless authority.
Noah hurried to his side, tablet already in hand.
Leonard didn’t look at him.
“My schedule.”
Noah unlocked the screen quickly. “You have a board review at eleven, lunch with the investors at one, and the site inspection at three.”
Leonard adjusted his cufflinks as they walked toward the building.
“Cancel the lunch.”
Noah blinked. “Sir?”
“I don’t entertain people who haven’t decided whether they fear me or respect me.”
Noah swallowed slightly and typed.
“Yes, sir.”
They reached the glass doors.
Leonard paused briefly.
“And tomorrow?”
Noah scrolled. “You have a flight at 6:30 a.m.”
“To Spain,” Leonard finished calmly.
“Yes, sir. The Valencia expansion project meeting.”
Leonard nodded once.
“Make sure the documents are ready before midnight. I don’t want to review anything on the plane.”
“Of course.”
Leonard’s jaw tightened slightly as he removed his sunglasses.
“And clear my evening.”
Noah hesitated. “You had a—”
“I said clear it.”
Noah understood immediately.
“Yes, Mr. Leonard.”
Leonard stepped into the building, aura commanding, expression unreadable.
Spain tomorrow.
Power today.
And somewhere in between…
Giselle.
Leonard was about to step fully into the building when Noah’s hand shot out, stopping him.
“Sir,” Noah said carefully, eyes fixed on Leonard. “One of the guards just called… Bruce came to see Giselle.”
Leonard froze for a fraction of a second — just long enough for Noah to notice the shift in his stance.
Something flickered in Leonard’s eyes .
It wasn’t soft but dangerous.
GISELLE’S MANSION *
Giselle stepped outside, and Bruce was leaning casually against his car, smirk in place.
“Finally,” he said, voice teasing. “I was beginning to think you’d bail on me.”
Giselle rolled her eyes. “Me? Never.”
He straightened, eyes locking on hers. “You know… you really should smile more. Makes the world dangerous… and irresistible.”
” You’re looking pretty Giselle , I like you ,” Bruce said without realizing it .
Giselle frowned.
” Am sorry if I made you uncomfortable but I think am into you .” Bruce sincerely said.
Then his phone buzzed. He glanced at it, frown replacing the smirk.
Pinky : Our mansion it’s on fire.
” What?” .
