~ Genevieve ~
A slow, drawn-out hum escaped my lips as my eyes roamed over the clothes I was putting on.
It was one of Dominic’s hoodies, which I most certainly did not steal. This particular hoodie was a deep shade of blue and just a tad oversized on me, which was precisely how I liked it. And guess what?
It still carries his scent. I know, I know, Iโm a fortunate girl, arenโt I? His aroma has yet to fade, and even if it does, Iโll simply takeโnot steร lโanother one from his wardrobe. No bother at all.
Anticipation and excitement danced within me as I perched on my bed, waiting for his arrival. He sent me a text after I returned from school around five, mentioning that he might be a tad late, and weโve yet to have a proper chat.
We hadnโt seen each other in two days. Those long, paiรฑfully torturรณus days without gazing into his eyes, or kissing his soft lips, or tasting that minty, addictive flavour on his tongue, or feeling those little brushes of his fingers against my skin. You know, I donโt think heโs aware that he does that most of the time.
Itโs rather amusing, isnโt it?
The Dominic I first met wasnโt fond of being disturbed while he worked. However, over the past couple of months, despite my refusal to listen and my insistence on staying by his side against his wishes, his less occupied hand seems to find its way to me. Sometimes he plays with my fingers, while at other times, he simply holds my hand in his.
Now, that is all I craveโhis touch. His lips on mine. His gaze fixed on me. I felt incomplete without him here, as though a significant part of myself had been taken away.
Itโs clear from his voice that he misses me just as much as I miss him. I canโt help but wonder just how much he longs for me. Is it…
A knock on my window jolted me from my thoughts. I eagerly jumped off the bed, hurried the short distance to the window, and flung the curtains open. My eyes immediately met those golden-brown ones I so adore before roaming over the face of the person I love with all my heart.
Dominic.
With a grin plastered on my face, I opened the window to let him in. Once inside, he towered over me as per usual. I gazed up at him, taking a moment to drink him in as he seemed to do the same before I leapt into his arms.
His strong arms encircled my waist, and my legs wrapped around his waist as I clung to him like a koala. But he didnโt mind; in fact, he peppered kisses on my shoulder, which was covered by fabric.
โI missed you.โ
We both uttered at the same time, and I was the one who pulled away to stare at him. I was certain my eyes betrayed far too many emotions at that moment, but I couldnโt care less. All I wanted was for him to hold me close as I got lost in his intense gaze, and I had that.
โYeah? How much?โ I asked, sliding my legs down from his waist to stand on my own.
Dominicโs arms remained around my waist, and he seized the opportunity to pull me flush against him. I cocked my head to the side, waiting impatiently for his answer. He noticed and smirked. โVery much.โ
โBut you had your peace and quiet. Didnโt enjoy that?โ
โNo, I quite like your disturbance.โ
I playfully smacked his chest, earning a chuckle from him. He was still grinning brightly when he slid his palm to the back of my neck, leaning in for his lips to meet mine. Dominic kissed me as though he were starved for it; his tongue brushed against mine, and I pulled away just to tease him.
As I expected, he groaned and pouted like a child denied his Halloween sweets. I shrugged casually, stroking my thumb against his chest. โWhat? Why are you pouting? You donโt get to kiss me after calling me a disturbance.โ
โMy disturbance,โ he hastily corrected. His grip tightened around me as he placed a lingering kiss on my forehead, murmuring with his lips still pressed there, โGod, I missed you so much, Vixen.โ
I blinked as tears stung my eyes at his heartfelt admission. It wasnโt just the words; it was the way he said it, as if he were gasping for air without me.
When his gaze returned to my face, he immediately noticed my watery eyes, caressing my cheek and kissing away the teardrop resting there. โDo you know how breathtakingly beautiful you are?โ
My usual reply would have been a sharp “yes,” but not today. Not now, at least.
Keeping my eyes locked on his, I shook my head. โDo you mind telling me?โ
A chuckle escaped him. โYou really don’t know?โ His question came in a whisper.
I shook my head again and whispered back, โNo. Please, do tell me.โ
Dominic tilted his head forward, his lips brushing against my temple. His voice deepened, โYou, Genevieve King, are the most beautiful girl I have ever laid eyes on.โ He paused, then continued after placing a kiss in the crook of my neck, โYou walk around with those dazzling, captivating, and intoxicatingly ocean-blue eyes of yours, and outfits that make it seem like youโve stepped right out of a dark academia era. And those boots of yours? They look as if they were made especially for you. I havenโt even mentioned how perfectly your hair blends with your skin. It falls gracefully over your back like a waterfall, and when you tie it up, it still looks just as flawless.โ
Is it possible to fall more in love with him?
Yes. The answer is yes.
His gaze ping-ponged with mine, as if in desperate search for something. I suppose he found it because his lips lifted into a smile. โSo, now you know just how incredibly beautiful you are, donโt you?โ
โIf only youโd keep reminding me.โ I replied, letting my lips crash onto his. โYou donโt have a problem with constantly reminding me, do you?โ
โNot at all, Vixen, not at all.โ Then he brought our lips together again, kissing me as if he couldnโt bear to be apart. โYour parents arenโt home, are they?โ
โWhyโs that?โ
โBecause a rรญval in business is in their daughterโs room, wanting nothing but to devรณur her.โ
โThat sounds like a brilliant idea.โ
โNot if your parents are home, Vixen.โ
I hummed as if I understood, then in the next second, I pushed him onto the bed and slowly straddled his lap. โI love it when you call me Vixen.โ
He chuckled. โYeah? Whyโs that?โ
โBecause itโs your nickname for me.โ I replied. โNo one else calls me that, except you.โ
โAnd if anyone else tries to call you that, Iโll slรญt their throats.โ
โYouโll slรญt Dexโs throat?โ
โDexter. His name is Dexter.โ Dominic corrected, just as he did every other day, which made me grin. โAnd when did he call you that?โ
โWe were talking about you.โ
โYeah? What about?โ
โCanโt tell you.โ
โWhy not?โ
โBecause it doesnโt concern you.โ
โYou two were talking about me, and it doesnโt concern me?โ
โExactly, Dominic.โ
Dominic frowned, his hands still wrapped around me as he pouted. My gaze dropped to his lips and back to his eyes, a big smile plastered on my face. โDo you know how adorable you are when you pout? Itโs the cutest thing ever.โ His sad pout wavered into something that resembled a smile, but it disappeared as quickly as it came, reverting back to a pout. I giggled at his playful childishness and continued, โYour eyes get all bright and shiny, and itโs just the most beautiful sight apart from your face. And, well, me in the mirror.โ
That cracked him up.
I brought out my palms to gently cradle his gorgeous face, but he denied me the view of his dazzling eyes by letting his lids fall. The words I desperately wanted to say were just at the tip of my tongue, but I said something else instead. โWould you like to hear what happened in school today?โ
โYeah, please do tell me.โ
My attempt to leave his lap proved fruitless when he tightened his grip and shook his head in utter disapproval.
โTalk.โ His single word, while he held me captive in his piercing gaze, was enough to completely scramble my brain, and I bet it did.
Anyway, I narrated the whole story from beginning to end, not missing the part where he looked like he might kรญll someone when I mentioned the slap. Fortunately, he said nothing and let me continue. When I finished telling the story, he was the one to cradle my face, which I shamelessly leaned into.
โYouโre going to let me kรญll that girl?โ
โNo.โ
โWhy not?โ He was furious. โShe hรบrt you.โ
I couldnโt explain how happy that made meโthat he would kรญll someone for hรบrting me.
Thatโs a sign of love, isnโt it?
Iโm not overthinking, am I?
โWhat she did is small compared to what Iโll do to her. Sheโll hรบrt a whole lot more without needing to dรญe.โ
โWhat do you have in mind?โ
A smirk danced across my face in a maniacal way that sent a thrill down my spine. โLeave that to me.โ
โIโm a bร d influence on you, arenโt I?โ I nodded gingerly. โBut I canโt deny it, I like you like this.โ
โYou donโt like me as I was before?โ
โWhat? Of course not. Itโs quite difficult not to like you. And by the way, youโve always been like this. You simply donโt need me or anyone else to be yourself, and thatโs what I truly admire about you, Genevieve King.โ
โI admire every single thing about you, Dominic Morozov.โ I told him as my fingers slipped into the depths of his thick, dark hair. โI adore your eyes; theyโre so striking, just the exact shade of whiskey on ice. I love your hair when you donโt style it whenever youโre with me, and I also like it when itโs styledโ I know, itโs complicated. I love the way you look at me, and I love the way you hold me…โ
I love you.
โI love the way you look at me too. Donโt you dare look at another man like that.โ
โI wouldnโt dream of it. But if I do, what will you do?โ
I craved his impending psychรณtic reply that I knew was coming. I even inched closer, as if that would allow me to hear him better.
Dominic trailed his lips softly across my cheek to my neck, then replied. โFirst of all, Iโll lock you up in my room for being a brร t.โ
โAnd then?โ
Tilting my head to the side, I granted him more access to feast on my neck. The cold tip of his tongue tickled the crook of my neck as he traced it in a not-so-straight line, causing me to fist his clothes in sheer ecstasy.
His voice dropped lowโlower than I thought possible, heavy with insatiable desire. “Iโll elimiรฑate whoever you directed that intoxicating gaze at, then come back to you to punรญsh you.”
This was what I had been missing for those two days, and now that I had him right where I wanted him, I didnโt want to let go.
โI love your punishmeรฑt,โ I said truthfully.
Okay, maybe not entirely truthfully, but partly. He is an absolute dรฉvil when he punishรฉs me, and I like it just a little bit. Just a little bit!
โYouโre not going to love this one.โ
โOh really? Whyโs that?โ
โBecause youโll be a shuddering mess beneath me, begging and pleading for your dear release, which I wonโt grant you until youโve truly earned it.โ
โDonโt threร ten me with a good time, Dom.โ
Dominic pinched my jaw with his thumb and knuckle, lifting my head up. โItโll be a good time for only me, Vixen.โ
โYou reckon?โ
“Genevieve,” he warned.
A laugh spilled from me, and while I was shaking with laughter, I nodded. โFine, fine. I wonโt do it.โ
โPromise?โ He sounded desperate for assurance as his eyes bounced between mine, as if searching for something elusive. A frown replaced his earlier expression when I said nothing. โI need you to promise me Iโm the only man… In fact, the only person you look at like that.โ
With no thoughts in my head, I opened my mouth and the words poured out. “I promise, Dominic.”
โGood girl.โ Then, he pecked my forehead.
โLetโs do something fun.โ
I didnโt need to spell it out; Dominic understood immediately. His gaze, which had been fixed on me, narrowed slightly as he took in my expression.
โOh? And what sort of fun did you have in mind?โ
Just the thought of him holding me tighter made my heart race. โSomething involving your lips on mine,โ I teased, trailing my index finger slowly down his chest, relishing the way his breath hitched. โYour body on mine. Yourโฆโ
โGenevieve,โ Dominic interrupted, his hand capturing my wrist, halting my playful gestures. โWe canโt.โ
โWhy not?โ I asked, a playful pout forming on my lips.
โYour parents are home,โ he replied, his voice firm.
I knew he had a point, but I couldnโt resist pushing back just a bit. โAnd why should that stop us?โ
He looked at me with that knowing expression that always made me frown, as if he knew Iโd eventually relent. But why did he always have to be right?
Naturally, I had to try another approach. I let my lips quiver, letting tears gather in my eyes without actually falling. Dominicโs eyes softened instantly, though he tried to hold firm.
โVixen, how many times have I told you not to try that trick on me? Itโs not going to work.โ
โYou hร te me, donโt you?โ I whispered, my voice a feigned wobble.
โWhen did I say that?โ
โJust now,โ I replied, biting back a smile.
Dominic sighed heavily, his usual response when he realised he was fighting a losing battle. โFine. I give up.โ
Before I could stop myself, a victorious grin spread across my face as I blurted out, โCan you stay over tonight?โ
The flicker in Dominicโs expression told me his answer, even before he opened his mouth. Embarrassed, I slid off his lap, retreating a bit.
โGenโฆโ
โItโs fine,โ I mumbled, waving it off.
โYouโre upset with me,โ he said softly, watching me closely.
โNo, Iโm not.โ
โYou are.โ
I tried to rise from the bed, but before I could get far, Dominicโs arms pulled me back, holding me firmly in place. His amber eyes, filled with a tender admiration, met mine as he gently repositioned me beneath him.
And I let him.
โI am sorry,โ he murmured.
โStay over.โ
There was such a conflรญct in his gaze. All I did was wait, still as anything, for his final answerโone that would set the tone for my entire night. He sighed. โI canโt say no to you when you look at me like that.โ
โThen donโt.โ
โOnly until you fall asleep?โ
โAnd who told you Iโll fall asleep with you here?โ
โThatโs exactly why I ought to go; youโve got school in the morning.โ My face sank further into a pit of sadness. That seemed to do the trick. โAlright, alright, Iโll stay over, just for tonight. Now, can you please smile for me? You know I canโt bear to see you like this.โ
โYou caused it.โ
โAnd this is me apologising. I am sorry, Genevieve.โ
Dominicโs hands settled on my hips, and I instinctively draped my legs over his. His mouth found mine, and for a few blissful moments, we were in perfect harmony. Our bodies moved together, expressing every unspoken word between us.
In moments like this, thereโs a rare magic, a beautiful synchronicity where we wanted each other equally, both aware of the risks but choosing to live in the moment.
I ran my fingers along the nape of his neck, feeling his warmth. All Iโd wanted was this kiss, but now, I was insatiable, craving his touch with an intensity that left me breathless.
Dominic broke away, his forehead resting against mine as he caught his breath. Our eyes met again, and he gave me a look that spoke volumes.
He always tells me how much he loves my eyes, but little does he know that I adore hisโthe golden brown that seems so intense, yet softens just for me.
