Thousands of candidates seeking university admission in Nigeria can now check the officially approved minimum UTME scores for the 2026 admission exercise after the latest announcement by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.

Lagos State University and Lagos State University of Science and Technology fixed 195, while Lagos State University of Education adopted 185.
JAMB explained that the approved figures represent the minimum thresholds for admission consideration, adding that institutions are permitted to set higher requirements for competitive courses such as Medicine, Law, Pharmacy and Engineering.
Many admission experts have also warned candidates not to rely only on the general cut-off mark because departmental admission scores may be significantly higher depending on competition and available admission slots.
