Two days had passed since I was captured… Everyone in the witch world knew heard about my capture… Including my family… My grandma Wuruola was restless when she found out… Aunt Jezebel too was surprised but she didn’t believe that I was the one…. Rose and Oliver too heard about my capture and came to see me at imprisonment chamber where I was being kept…

The Imprisonment chamber was a Huge cave guarded by Top wizards… It was called the #Trinity_Dome… Any witch or wizard that is kept inside that place would be powerless… Even the strongest witches and wizards like the council would be powerless as well if kept inside this dome..

Everyone that I knew came to see me, my friends and all… Even my father.. Eli.

I’ve forgotten the last time I saw my father… He’s always traveling around to places unknown to man to do whatever he wants to do.. Since Rose was now an adult.. He gave her the responsibility of taking care of Oliver and me… But he made his sister, Aunt Jezebel to looking after us as well from time to time.. I wasn’t expecting to see here really but now that I’m been captured.. He’s decided to show up…

I told them everything, From the beginning where I left Riley’s room till the time I was captured .. And they all listened with rapt attention… After I was done… My Aunt and dad spoke.

Jezebel ➡ I tried everything I could but the Supreme witch wouldn’t hear of it… Christen must face trial to prove her innocence.

Oliver ➡ and the trial starts in a few minutes…

Esther ➡ But how can she prove her innocence…. Without Lucas, she won’t win the trial…..

Jezebel ➡ It won’t help… Its a waste of time.. Besides the fool might be somewhere hiding by now…

Christen ➡ OH NO!!… Riley..

Oliver ➡ I can’t believe you.. Thinking about that human when you’re about to be in a hot seat.

Esther, Judith and oliver left the dome immediately… And as soon as they left.. The messenger of the council announced it was time for the trial…

Rose and the rest left and went to the place where the trial was going to place… Sooner afterwards, I was taken away and escorted by Some elite wizards to the trial chamber…..

As soon as we got there, I noticed there was a lot of crowd.. Some booed and threw things at me.. I was lead to the the trial altar where I was to be questioned by the council..

I stood at the altar with my face downwards.. I didn’t want to face the crowd.. They’re busy noisy and saying nasty things about me.. I would not let them get me off with their ignorance and stupidity… As I stood at the altar waiting for the council to appear, my mind raced back to Riley… I was sure he was worried about where I was for the past 2 days… I just hope he’s alright…

Just then.. Everywhere became silent… There was no shouts, no insults, no nothing.. Everywhere was so quiet and still as if there was no living soul… As I looked up.. I saw the council right in front of me.. They had all taken their seats.. I could see Aunt Jezebel a few meters away from me on the left… Though she was my relative we pretended no to know each other… And above the council was the Supreme witch.. Orisaye…

This was the first time, I’ve seen her.. She looked so young and beautiful despite her age.. She looked so calm and poise, her stare was cold and straight.. It was hard to tell what’s in her mind… After a brief moment of pause… She began to talk.

Orisaye ➡ I believe you know why you’re here.. Witch?

Christen ➡ Y-yes.. Your eminence..

Orisaye ➡ Do you plead guilty or not?

Christen ➡ Not guilty.

Council 1➡ Liar! You were caught red handed… Don’t deny what you’ve done.

Christen ➡ I didn’t do it.. I was setup by Lucas.

Council 2➡ Didn’t you kill him?

Christen ➡ I did but somehow he came back alive… I was about to finish him off when I was apprehended.

Council 3 ➡ According to what your captors said… You were the only one standing alone when they saw you… Care to explain that?

Christen ➡ Lucas jumped off the hill…

Council 1 ➡ Listen to these lies…

Aunt Jezebel ➡ Let her speak!

Council 1➡ Watch your mouth Jezebel… Just because she’s your relative don’t think we’ll let her go.

Aunt Jezebel ➡ Don’t bring family matter into this issue.. And Christen is not the culprit.. She’s not the kind of witch to do such a heinous thing.. Lucas is indeed behind this.

Council 1 ➡ Is that so? Then where is he? I don’t see him anywhere… This whole story your niece cooked up is nothing but lies… I’ll tell you what I think happened… Yes.. She did kill Lucas but what if she did it to have the power of the totems herself.. Maybe she had some hidden agenda or plan.. So she kills Lucas and takes the totems for herself.. If she indeed is innocent.. Why didn’t she bring the totems straight to us? And let’s not forget.. She said she had destroyed the totems.. So why are they in her hands?… She’s guilty.. And must be punished for her crimes..

Orisaye ➡ Okay…. Is there anything you want to say Witch?

I was speechless… I couldn’t even talk.. Besides what’s there to say.. This b*stard had said more than enough and it made so much sense… I had no evidence so it’s meaningless if I try to deny it.. I didn’t know when I began to cry.. I didn’t cry out loud but I did it silently.. I bent my head downwards as tears fell from my eyes… Just as the council was to give their verdict… Riley and Lucas appeared out of nowhere surprising me and everyone in the room…

I was never more happier and excited in my life when I saw Riley and best of all with that b*stard Lucas.. I rushed at him and gave him a tight warm hug… But my happy moment was ruined when I realized what had just happened, Here was Riley a human.. In our world.. And in the presence of every witch here.. He must have used that teleporting spell I taught him.. I immediately began to get scared.. I told him to go.. But He insisted that he was going to save me..

As we were arguing, We were interrupted by one of the council members.

Council 2 ➡ Who’s this intruder?

Christen ➡ He’s uhmm.. He’s..

Riley ➡ My name is Riley sir.. And I’m a human.. And also Christen’s boyfriend.

My heart froze when Riley said that.. Everyone who was in the room froze in shock as well when they heard what he said… The council members had opened their mouths in shock… Riley had just made things worst for the both of us..

Council 1 ➡ UNBELIEVABLE! so you’re not only a criminal but also a traitor to your kind.. Falling in love with a human and teaching him our magic.

Riley ➡ You’re wrong sir.. Christen is not a criminal and I’m here to prove it.

Addressing the witch council face to face made me tremble with fear… But no matter what happens, I’ll do my best to free Christen and to do that, I need to focus and concentrate.

Riley ➡ When I first saw Christen, I knew there was something special about her.. After a while later, I fell in love with her.. I tried approaching her but she just wasn’t giving anyone a chance… I thought she was just too proud but I later realized she was just minding her busy… She hates crowds and noise but not people.. After a while, we became friends and later on much more than that..

Riley ➡ What am trying to say is Christen is not who you think she is… She fell in love with me, a human… Somebody like that doesn’t just starts killing innocent people, it doesn’t make sense…. I know what happened to her mother and that could make anyone want to exact revenge but she didn’t.. Christen is innocence and she’s a loving and caring person.. If anyone’s to blame is that heartless fiend over here… Lucas.. He set her up.. I saw and heard what he was planning to do with the totems, he even offered Christen to join him but she refused, so he decided to make her take the fall for his crimes.

Lucas ➡ Liar… Who’s going to believe a human? Christen killed me so she could have the power all to herself.

Council 1 ➡ I said it..

Orisaye ➡ That’s enough.. It is clear that we don’t know who to believe.. In that case I’m going to punish both Christen and Lucas since there is no evidence to show who is the culprit.

Riley ➡ But he is the evidence!

Orisaye ➡ I’m sorry human.. But we can’t just trust you…we made that same mistake thousands of years ago with a certain individual. But if you have any evidence to prove what you’re saying, I’d like to see it.

D–n… This thing just became worst.. Without evidence.. Christen would be punished and This pig Lucas is trying to take Christen with him… I can’t allow that I have to do something but what? Just then my eyes reached down to my hands where I had Christen’s necklace.. An idea popped into my head… I quickly remembered what Christen told me about the necklace and what it was capable of doing… This was the only way I could the truth out of Lucas and set Christen free.

Orisaye ➡ Do you have nay evidence?

Riley ➡ Yes I do… Do you know what this is?

Orisaye ➡ It’s a necklace..

Riley ➡ Its not just any necklace… Its a special necklace that has the power to make someone say the truth.

Council 1 ➡ Nonsense… This means nothing..

Aunt Jezebel ➡ No, its not… I know that necklace… Its called the *Devil’s Voice”.

Orisaye ➡ So you know of it’s power….

Lucas who had no ides what the necklace was capable of collected the necklace and wore it… After that, Aunt Jezebel begsn to interrogate him.

Aunt Jezebel ➡ Is it true my niece killed you to get the power of the totem?

Lucas ➡ Yes… She..

After that, something terrifying happened.. The necklace on Lucas neck shone bright red and then it stuck to his flesh like gum.. After that, a dark shadow appeared behind him.. And out of the shadows appeared a very giant terrifying, horrific creature I’ve ever seen thanks to Solomon’s eyes.. The creature was ghostly and phantom in nature.. No words could describe the frightening figure of the creature that appeared before us…

Demon ➡ Liiiieeeesssss!

Orisaye ➡ What is this?

.

Jezebel ➡ The necklace has other abilities as well.. It exposes anyone who lies and if he doesn’t say the truth after three times… His fate is sealed.

Lucas ➡ WHAT IS THIS? GET THIS OFF ME!

Orisaye ➡ You want to be free.. Say the truth..

.

Riley ➡ Did you use the totems to kill innocent people back in the human world?

..

Lucas ➡ NO!

Demons ➡ Liiiieeeesssss!

Riley ➡ So you’re saying you didn’t try to kill Christen when she refused you and you didn’t set her up to take the fall for you crimes..

Lucas ➡ NO!! NO!! NO!!

Demons ➡ LIES!!!!

Immediately after that, something happened again… The necklace shone brighter and the shadows increased more and more.. Just then, The creature grabbed hold of Lucas tight.. He tried desperately to escape but it was of no use.. In that moment, the creatures mouth opened so wide that a building could fit in there… Inside the creatures mouth, some terrifying bloodthirsty demons grabbed hold of Lucas, they bit and torn him apart within seconds.. Lucas screams filled all over the trial chamber.. Soon the demons devoured Lucas whole.. Nothing was left of him.. After that, the creatures disappeared and the necklace was back to normal taking its place right back into my hands.. Thanks to Solomon, he quickly wiped the images of the creatures out of my head so I would die of fright…

After that everyone was quiet… The council was speechless and shocked by what happened.. After a while, The Supreme witch spoke her mind.

Orisaye ➡ That was shocking and surprising..but I’ve come to realize that the truth has been discovered thanks to this Human…. So therefore… Christen.. You’re free..

.

Christen rushed at me when she heard that, she hugged and jumped on me, wrapping her legs around me as we kissed… Everyone was surprised by what they saw… Christen’s family joined us as well thanking me for saving her as the last hour..

Wuroala ➡ Thank you my son… I’m glad you and Christen are together…

Riley ➡ Thanks ma..

.

Rose ➡ I have to say.. What you did was foolish but brave… Coming all the way here to save my sister… Looks like I was wrong about you… I’m sorry for what I did.. But I still hate you though.

Riley ➡ That’s fine.. Just as long as you don’t try to kill me or my family.

Rose ➡ Don’t worry, I won’t..

Christen ➡ Riley.. This is my father, Eli.. Father this is Riley..

I extended my hands for a handshake but he refused to collect it.. I could sense that he didn’t like me so I slowly drew my hand back.. Afterwards Christen’s friend and cousin, Esther and Judith showed up and they were told about what happened… Everyone was excited things were normal again but before we could even celebrate.. The Supreme witch summoned Christen and I .

Orisaye ➡ I have to say..I’m grateful for what you did Human and we’re all grateful for exposing and ending an evil entity before us… But there’s something I cannot allow.. Your romance with Christen… It is FORBIDDEN! A witch and a human can’t possibly be together.. It’s not natural… I would prefer we killed you and punish her for what she did… But that would be cruel… Because of what you did here today.. I’m willing to allow you to live… But your romance with Christen won’t continue..

Riley ➡ please… Don’t do this.. I love her.. I don’t care who or what she is.. I adore her.. I can’t possibly let her go.. That’s why I’ve risked coming all the way here to save her.. Please.

Orisaye ➡ I admire your sentiment… But I can’t allow that but if you insist.. I’ll give you two options..

Riley ➡ Which are?

Orisaye ➡ First, If you want to continue your romance with Christen, then you will never return to the human world… You’ll stay here with her forever.. You’ll live longer like us but you won’t have powers like us because you’re a human… You’ll never see your friends and family ever again.. If you want her so bad, then you must forget everyone you ever knew and stay here with her..

Riley ➡ And the second option?

Orisaye ➡ If you leave here… You’ll never see Christen ever again… Everything you know about her and us will be wiped out of your head. It will be like you never met her… You’ll be back to your normal life with your friends and family…. But as for Christen you’ll never see her.. Even if you do.. You won’t recognize her.. She’ll be a stranger to you..

So which one is it…

Option 1 ➡ Stay here with Christen and spend your life together with her but you’ll never see your family or friends.

Option 2 ➡ Leave here and go to your family but you’ll never see Christen again or remember anything about her or this place..

As I heard those impossible options… I fell on my knees and began to shed tears… Which ever option I choose, I’ll still lose in the end..
