{NEXT MORNING~ANTHONY’S OFFICE~8AM}
The office doors opened and James walked in, he didn’t even bother to knock.
“What brings you here?” Anthony asked, looking up at him.
“I hope you know what you’re doing,” James said as he sat down on the chair opposite Anthony.
“Of course I do, the board members won’t just let me replace Caden so I have to use the election” Anthony assured.
“And what if he wins?” James asked with a raised eyebrow.
“He won’t, I already made sure that wouldn’t happen, they know better than to vote for Caden” Anthony answered.
“Are you a million percent sure? Caden is cunning” James informed.
“Are you implying I can’t handle my son?” Anthony frowned.
“If you can, he wouldn’t go against you every single time” James retorted. “We had a deal Mr. Kingston, you better honor it” James said.
“I am a man of my words, the COO position is already yours, there’s nothing to worry about” Anthony replied and James stood up.
“I hope so,” James said simply and left his office.

{CADEN’S HOUSE}
Emily turned on the bed, her eyes fluttering open slowly, she picked up her phone from the night stand and she immediately sat properly on the bed when she saw the time.
She is supposed to be on her way to work right now, her eyes went to Caden’s space beside her and it was empty.
He already left and he didn’t bother to wake her up?
Emily’s phone pinged and she turned her attention to it.
Caden: Good morning wife, I didn’t wake you up because you looked really cute when you were asleep.
Emily sighed when she saw his message, how did he know she was already awake?
She ignored the message and walked out of Caden’s room to her room. She needs to dress quickly for work.
As Emily walked downstairs, already dressed she wondered how Madison was doing, she hadn’t heard from her for a while.
Her phone rang and she saw a call from Madison, her face lit up in surprise.
“I was just thinking about you,” Emily said as she opened the front door and got into her car.
“And you didn’t call me?” Madison replied, her voice a little low.
“I was about to and yes.. I really was about to call you” Emily said hurriedly. “Are you coming to work today?” Emily asked.
“No… Not yet, I was wondering if you’ll come to my place today after work” Madison responded.
“Is something wrong?” Emily asked.
“Not anymore though, when you come we would talk” Madison answered.
“Alright, Bye” Emily replied stiffly and Madison hung up.
“What happened to her, it better not be that her jackàss brother again” Emily muttered as she drove to work.

{NATHAN’S PENTHOUSE}
Madison sighed as she hung up the phone, she didn’t want to have that conversation with Emily over the phone.
She thought about not letting Emily know but she would explode if she didn’t let this out of her system.
Madison walked out the the neatly arranged guest room to the living room where she met Ava
“Good morning” Ava smiled at her. “My clothes look great on you,” Ava said.
“Thanks for the clothes, I really appreciate it,” Madison said.
“It’s no problem, I’m really glad to have you here, Nathan is like a rock, I can’t talk to him” Ava replied.
“Ohh then I am really sorry to burst your bubble but I am leaving today” Madison said.
“What? So soon? Not yet” Ava pouted.
“I’m actually honored you want me to stay but I have to leave” Madison replied.
“What do I have to do to get you to stay? Please…..” Ava begged and Madison sighed.
She didn’t want to become a burden, leaving under Nathan’s roof for free without a good reason.
“If you’re worried about my brother, you don’t have to, I am pretty sure he wants you to stay,” Ava added as if reading her mind.
“Where is Nathan?” Madison asked.
“He left for work already, he is a workaholic” Ava rolled her eyes.
“Ohhhh okay” Madison replied with a little disappointment, she was hoping to see him before she left.
“Please stay” Ava started again.
“I really can’t,” Madison replied and Ava sighed.
“Why did you come to New York? You didn’t tell me the reason” Madison asked, trying to change the topic.
“You didn’t ask, you were absent minded throughout the flight to New York, I hope you’re okay now” Ava said with concern.
“Really? I didn’t notice,” Madison chuckled awkwardly.
“Well.. I did, do you really want to know the reason I came to New York?” Ava asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Yes, I do,” Madison nodded in anticipation.
“I came to see my crush” Ava smiled dreamily and Madison looked at her in astonishment.
“Your crush?” Madison asked in surprise.
“Yes, he doesn’t remember me though,” Ava complained.
“Who is this crush of yours?” Madison asked.
“I won’t tell you, I don’t trust you not to tell my brother” Ava replied.
“I promise I won’t tell him” Madison assured but Ava shook her head in refusal.
“I won’t tell you either way since you refused to stay here” Ava replied and Madison sighed.
She had a feeling Ava is just making this up, from what she knows, Ava had lived in Australia all her life, there’s no way she has a crush here in New York.
“I would need you to drive me home though,” Madison said.
“Alright” Ava released a heavy breath.

{HALTER’S MEDIA}
“Did you speak to dad?” Emily asked her mother.
“No, he went on a business trip,” Layla replied.
“So you don’t know why he froze your accounts?” Emily asked.
“No but he unfroze them today though” Layla answered.
“You definitely spent so much he couldn’t take it anymore” Emily said and Layla scoffed.
“If you called to scold me then this conversation is over” Layla barked and hung up.
“What would I do with her?” Emily sighed and dropped her phone.
“Did you see the headlines, it seems Anthony Kingston wants to replace Caden with James Cater” Emily heard one of her colleagues say.
“Yeah… I saw, Liam is angry because Venice got the news first” another colleague replied.
Emily quickly went to the tabloids and there it was in the headlines.
She really hoped Caden wins the election, if he doesn’t, he would be devastated and it looks like Anthony has no intention of handing the company over to Caden at all.
A message came from Caden and Emily tapped on it
Caden: ignoring me?
Emily’s lips curved into a smirk, she ignored the message again and turned off her phone.

{6PM}
Emily walked towards the parking lot to her car, she planned on going to Madison’s place and if needed she was prepared to spend the night there.
When Emily got to her car she saw James and she paused.
Caden blocked James from her phone last night. Maybe that’s why he came to see her but how did he know she worked at Halter’s media.
“I was hoping you were still around” James said immediately she spotted her walking towards him.
“What are you doing here?” Emily asked.
“I came to see you, I was unable to reach you throughout today” James informed.
“That would be because my husband blocked you, you don’t have to worry about the headlights, I would pay for it myself” Emily said.
“I had a feeling you would say that” James sighed. “I was kinda hoping we would be friends but it seems Caden wouldn’t like that” James added.
“He definitely wouldn’t, you’re competing with him for his position, that would be a very bad idea” Emily replied and James nodded.
“It’s nice knowing you Emily”James smiled at her and walked away.
Emily watched him go before entering her car and driving off.

{CADEN’S OFFICE}
Caden stared at his phone with a frown, he was waiting for Emily to reply to his messages.
His over 50 messages.
Is she messing with him?
George walked into the office drawing Caden’s attention.
“We have a problem” George said pressing his lips together, worry written all over his face.
“What is it this time?” Caden asked.
“It seems your father has almost if not all the board members on his side, they would vote for James in a heartbeat” George answered and Caden rubbed his temples.
He expected this to happen, Anthony has made his plans very carefully.
“Can’t we do anything to get them on our side?” Caden asked.
“We don’t have enough time, we barely have a week before the election” George responded with a sigh.
“What if it is postponed, that you give us enough time to think of something, I can’t lose my position to James Carter” Caden said.
“How? Anthony would never allow it” George replied.
“He doesn’t have to allow it, he would have no choice but to do it” Caden said with a smirk.
“What do you want to do?” George asked.
“You’ll see,” Caden shrugged and George sighed.

{MADISON’S APARTMENT}
Emily’s mouth was still hanging open even after Madison finished telling her everything that happened.
She didn’t know what words to form out of her mouth, she didn’t know what to say at all, everything sounded like a damn fairytale.
“Emily!” Madison yelled, snapping Emily out of her trance.
“What?!” Emily found her voice. “You’re not making this up?” Emily asked.
“Do I look like I am making this up?” Madison frowned.
“What the f×k! This is crazy” Emily exclaimed and Madison sighed.
“I know right,” she responded. “I would have been in Mexico if not for Nathan,” Madison said.
“Girl, I’m so sorry, I had no idea” Emily said and pulled Madison into a hug. “I’m glad you’re alright,” she said softly.
“I am also glad to be alive and safe and not in Mexico,” Madison replied.
“You need to move out of this apartment immediately, don’t you feel insecure?” Emily suggested.
“I do but I’m really not in a position to change apartment Ems” Madison replied.
“If money is the problem I would lend you money and I am pretty sure Nathan would too” Emily said.
“I don’t want to rent an apartment with someone’s cash and it would be weird as fuçk to ask Nathan for money,” Madison complained.
“Someone who did everything he could to make sure you weren’t traffiçked, you didn’t tell me things with Nathan is this deep” Emily accused.
“There’s nothing with Nathan, he just wanted to help,” Madison defended.
“Is that what you think? I don’t think so” Emily teased, her phone rang and she saw a call from Caden.
She totally forgot she was ignoring him. “Give me a minute” she said to Madison before picking up.
“I’m at Madison’s place,” Emily said.
“Is that a reason to ignore my messages and calls?” Caden asked obviously angry and Emily remained quiet. “Text me your location” Caden said and hung up.
“Why is he so mad?” Emily rolled her eyes.
“I thought you said things with Caden aren’t romantic” Madison raised an eyebrow.
“It’s… It’s not” Emily stuttered.
“Did you guys have s+x?” Madison asked abruptly and Emily blinked, refusing to speak. “Oh my God!” Madison exclaimed.
“How did I miss this? When?!” Madison demanded.
“Why are you so invested in my life?” Emily asked.
“Because this is like the highlight of my entire week Ems! Since when, are you both in love now?” Madison gasps.
“I don’t think it’s that serious” Emily replied, the words soar in her mouth.
“I think it’s very serious, he just called you because you were ignoring him,” Madison pointed out.
Before Emily could respond her phone pinged.
Caden: I’m outside, come out.
“This is definitely the highlight of my damn day” Madison chuckled as she peeped into Emily’s phone.
“Stop it,” Emily said.
“You better go meet him, I don’t want to get in the bad graces of Caden Kingston,” Madison said, pulling Emily up.

Emily stepped out of the building and immediately spotted Caden leaning against his car, arms crossed, jaw tight.
The look on his face alone told her she was in trouble.
“You look like you’re about to murder someone,” Emily said as she walked towards him.
“I might,” Caden replied flatly. “You ignored me.”
“I was busy,” she shrugged.
“With what?” he asked, eyes scanning her face.
“Madison had something serious to tell me.” Emily replied.
“And that stops you from replying to a text?” he snapped.
Emily opened her mouth to argue, but before she could, Caden grabbed her wrist gently and pulled her closer.
“What are you doing?” she whispered.
“I thought we are finally over the ignoring stage,” Caden complained.
Emily’s breath hitched. “Caden…” she called softly.
Caden leaned in suddenly, lips inches from hers.
“Wait!” Emily said quickly, placing her hand on his chest. “Madison is watching.”
She glanced back and sure enough, Madison was standing behind them pretending not to stare while very obviously staring.
“So?” Caden said.
“So…?” Emily hissed.
“So I don’t care,” he replied and before she could stop him, he dipped his head and kissed her.
Emily stiffened for half a second before her instinct betrayed her and she kissed him back, brief, heated, reckless.
When Caden pulled away, her cheeks were burning hot.
“You’re insane,” she muttered and Caden smirked.
Emily turned back to Madison and waved awkwardly. “I’ll call you later!”
Madison gave her a thumbs up and mouthed, “I knew it”
Emily groaned. “I can’t believe you did that.” she complained.
Caden opened the car door for her. “I told you, I don’t care who’s watching.” he replied.
Emily hesitated for a second before getting in.
“And that,” Emily said, buckling her seatbelt. “is exactly the problem.” she hissed.
Caden started the car, a small smile playing on his lips as they drove off.

{KINGSTON MANSION~8PM}
Anthony wasn’t home yet so Beatrice ate dinner alone, she was actually happy he didn’t come back, she didn’t want to get beaten again.
Beatrice walked to their bedroom and sat on the bed, she brought out the burner phone and made a call.
“Release the statement, make sure it’s not traced back to me, everything should be in your name” Beatrice said over the phone and hung up.
“It’s time to push Anthony Kingston’s name under the carpet little by little” she muttered with a small smile.
After a while, the phone pinged.
Unknown number: Done.
Beatrice quickly hid the burner phone and picked up her real phone.
The trending headlines made her smirk.

it was just a normal post with no pictures or proof attached, it won’t hold the trending search for a long time but it’s enough to stir up trouble and set the stage for the upcoming ruination.
More than anything, Beatrice wants to see Anthony panic, he would destroy the news quickly but it will rattle him and that’s the aim of this.
Beatrice smiled and laid on the bed.

{CADEN’S HOUSE}
Emily sat on the couch as she scrolled through the Internet, Caden sat close to her, his eyes on his laptop screen.
He was composing an email to send to the company, he wanted the board members to push Anthony into postponing the election date.
Convincing them that Anthony didn’t let him prepare for the election properly.
When he was done, he sent the email and closed the laptop, he turned to Emily who was still engrossed in her phone.
Emily was scrolling aimlessly through her phone, barely paying attention to whatever she was reading.
She had no idea he was staring at her so she didn’t look up.
“Are you ignoring me again?” he asked and Emily finally looked up at him.
“I thought you were busy.” Emily replied.
“Well I am not anymore,” Caden said.
“Good for you” she shrugged.
Caden turned fully toward her, his gaze intense. “I just spent the last two hours composing an email’ Caden informed me.
“I didn’t know you needed encouragement,” Emily replied coolly.
“I need you,” Caden said and leaned closer.
She opened her mouth to respond, but he was already way too close, his hand gripping her chin, forcing her to look at him, then his lips crashed against hers.
The kiss was desperate and consuming.
Emily froze for half a second before kissing him back just as hard, fingers clutching his shirt.
“You’re impossible,” she breathed when he pulled away slightly.
“I know wife” he replied, lifting her effortlessly onto his lap as she straddles him on the couch.
Her phone slipped from her hand, forgotten.
Caden buried his face in her neck as he left bite marks there making Emily m+an in pleasure.
Caden’s hand slipped under her shirt feeling her skin, his mouth found its way to her lips again as he devoured her whole.
“You’re f+king perfect,” Caden murmured in her lips.
Emily felt her folds clench at his words, she could feel how hard he was through their clothes and how much she loved the effect she had on him.
But he also has that much effect on her too, a loud moan tear from her throat but was swallowed by Caden Savage kiss.

{LIA’S PENTHOUSE}
Lia stared at her tab with a smile on her face, she has been looking for the perfect reason to see Caden and now she finally got the perfect reason.
A picture of Emily and James talking in the parking lot. “With a little editing it would definitely look intimate,” Lia smiled.
She didn’t expect to see Emily talking to James at Halter’s media, she actually planned on giving Emily one final warning before moving with her plans of kîlling her but Emily laid something more useful in her hands.
“Should I make this a hot search on the tabloids or let Caden see it first?” Lia muttered to herself.
Either way, Caden would hate Emily when this gets to him.
“It’s over for you Emily Stone” Lia smirked mischievously.
