{CADEN HOUSE~8AM}
Emily’s eyes were wide awake when her alarm went off.
She wished she had woken up before the alarm clock, too bad she hasn’t slept at all throughout the night.
After spending almost 2hours in the kitchen trying to make beef stew, she finally did it but when she went to Caden’s room he was already asleep.
Either that or he just chose to ignore her.
Emily refused to believe the latter even though that was half of the reason she didn’t sleep well.
The other half was her dad texted her to meet with him, he even told her to bring Caden with her.
She stood up from her bed and freshened up, after getting ready for work, she walked out of her bedroom.
She wondered if Caden was still inside or he had left already.
She wanted to go to his room but decided against it, she was going to text him instead.

{KINGSTON ENTERPRISES}
The board meeting this morning was hell for Caden, his father made things very difficult for him, if things continue like this then the construction would have to stop.
Caden sat on his office chair as he ran his hands through his hair repeatedly, trying to think of a solution.
His office door opened and he was expecting to see George since he hadn’t heard from him since yesterday but unfortunately for him, it was his father.
“I told you the oil refinery won’t work, I have been in this for years, Caden. You should listen to me more often” Anthony said, sitting on the chair opposite Caden.
“I know you had something to do with this” Caden said calmly and Anthony scoffed.
“You always have enmity towards me, you should respect me more, after all, I am your father” Anthony reprimanded.
“You don’t deserve my respect, not after what you did to my mother” Caden’s eyes were burning with rage but his expression remained calm.
“Your mother brought everything on herself, I was simply teaching her a lesson” Anthony defended.
“I don’t expect a man like you to feel sorry for his sins, get out of my office” Caden said harshly.
“I am still the CEO of the company, you don’t get to order me around” Anthony frowned before getting up. “Give up the construction, it won’t happen” Anthony concluded as he straightened his suit.
A few minutes after Anthony left Caden’s office, George entered hurriedly.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t know something like that happened, my phone died and I forgot to charge it” George spoke quickly and Caden sighed.
“Your explanation doesn’t mean anything right now, we need to find a solution to this problem right now” Caden replied.
“I would talk to Finley and we would figure something out,” George said. “I’m really sorry you weren’t able to reach me” George apologized again.
“Next time keep your phone on” Caden said simply and George left his office.
Caden’s phone pinged and he picked it up to see a message from Emily.
Wife: dinner with my parents at 6PM,. would you be available?
Caden: I’m always available for you, I would pick you up.
Wife: Alright.

{VILLA~3PM}
Anna packed her car in front of the enormous villa and got down from it, she walked towards the door and pushed it open.
She smiled widely when her eyes caught the beauty of the living room, she owned the villa, it’s all hers.
“You like it?” She heard a familiar voice and Anthony came into view.
“Like? I love it!” she screamed and ran to hug him.
“I knew you would, that’s why I bought it for you” Anthony chuckled.
“We really shouldn’t be meeting up more often, George is getting suspicious,” Anna said.
“Just break up with that boyfriend of yours, he can’t give you what I would” Anthony declared.
“That’s not the deal we made, I love George too much to lose him and I love your money, I made things clear the first time you made advances towards me” Anna spoke as she trailed her hands through his body.
“Yes, you did” Anthony smiled sheepishly and pulled Anna towards him by the waist making her gasp.
“Now let me fulfill my part of the deal” Anna smirked and slowly loosened his tie.
Complete and utter lust danced in Anthony’s eyes as he watched her remove his shirt buttons.

{PENTHOUSE~AUSTRALIA~5PM}
Madison laid on the king size soft bed with her phone in her hand as she scrolled through her Instagram.
If she said she hasn’t been bored then that would be a terrible lie.
She never knew Nathan had a penthouse neither has she been in a penthouse since she was born but now she is very bored.
Ava, Nathan’s sister, is hardly in the penthouse with her, she is the only person she talks to.
Ava is camera shy and that’s why Nathan doesn’t want anyone finding out he has a sister or else the paparazzi would prey on her.
Madison groaned in frustration and got up from the bed, she walked down the stairs as her eyes trailed through the white penthouse.
She has been here for quite a while but she is still amazed by how beautiful this place looked.
Madison walked towards the kitchen and took something to drink.
She heard the elevator open and Nathan walked into the house.
“You’re back so soon?” Madison asked, surprised.
He left Australia two days ago and she wasn’t expecting him till after a week or two at least, he is a busy man after all.
“You sound like you don’t want me here” Nathan raised an eyebrow. “Don’t forget this is my penthouse,” he added.
“I know, I know,” Madison sighed.
“Everything should have died down in the next two weeks or so and after three weeks, we would say we broke up” Nathan informed and Madison nodded.
“You didn’t tell me you were coming so I didn’t make anything for you to eat, you have to order some food” Madison said.
“Alright” Nathan replied and walked away.
“He looks tired, being a CEO isn’t as easy as I thought, rich people always have their problems” Madison muttered before slumping on the couch to watch TV.

{STONE MANSION~6PM}
Emily took in deep breaths before walking into the house.
“I’m home” she called as she walked deeper.
“Oh heavens, I forgot we were having dinner today” Layla exclaimed immediately when she saw her daughter. “We have to order food before your dad gets back” she added as she walked towards Emily who sighed.
She would never change.
“Didn’t Caden come with you?” Layla asked.
“No… He is busy” Emily replied.
Caden had messaged her a few hours ago that he wouldn’t be able to attend the dinner because he had to do something urgent.
Emily only hoped everything was okay with him, he looked really stressed yesterday.
“Since when did you start worrying about him?” Emily reprimanded herself lowly.
“Did you say something?” Layla asked and Emily blinked.
“No” Emily responded and Layla got back to her phone, she was definitely trying to order food.

“I can’t believe he decided not to come for dinner, doesn’t he want to see his in-laws?” Harper complained.
“He is probably too busy with work to worry about dinner” Layla chipped in.
“He couldn’t even spare time for his in-laws, I knew he was uncultured,” Harper scoffed.
“And you still got me married to him” Emily finally spoke.
She had been quiet throughout the dinner, listening to her father rant about how Caden was rude but she decided to speak up since she was getting really annoyed by his words.
“It was for the good of the company” Harper defended.
“I already heard that more times than I can count, so stop saying it” Emily said sharply.
“My dear-” Layla tried to speak.
“I think I should go home now, I don’t like driving at night” Emily said and got up.
Layla and Harper watched their daughter got up and walk out the door without saying anything.
“She is overreacting,” Harper said after a while.

{CADEN’S HOUSE}
When Emily got home she walked straight to her room, she had completely lost her appetite and she wasn’t sure she would be eating anything tonight.
And she sure as hell won’t be sleeping either.
She had never had a close relationship with her parents.
It has always been cold between them.
Emily’s parents were never in love, they were involved in an arranged marriage between their parents for business reasons.
They only tolerated each other, so Emily grew up tolerating her parents too, she doesn’t hate them but she doesn’t love them too.
Emily took a warm shower and came back downstairs to watch a movie.
Caden wasn’t back yet and she planned on waiting for him, she really wanted to make sure everything was fine with him.
Her phone rang and she saw a call from Madison.
“Did something bad happen?” Emily asked immediately she picked up.
“Why did you assume something bad happened?” Madison asked.
“Because you won’t just call me for the hell of it” Emily answered.
“What if I am?” Madison questioned.
“Then I would like to remind you that I am hundred percent straight, maybe you’ve forgotten” Emily replied and Madison laughed.
“Seriously Ems, I’m just bored” Madison said.
“I don’t have the cure for boredom,” Emily responded.
“Obviously you don’t, I’m hanging up now, say hi to Caden for me” Madison said and hung up.
“Seriously?” Emily raised her brows as she stared at her phone. “Crazy girl” she added with a small smile.
Emily didn’t know for how long she had been watching movies and she was more than shocked when she checked her phone to see it was past midnight already.
Caden wasn’t back yet which was worrying.
She wanted to call him but she decided against it, he is not a child, she shouldn’t have to worry about him.
Just as she was about to get up from the couch she heard car noises outside indicating Caden was back, so she slumped back on the couch.
The door opened after a while and an extremely tired Caden entered, his face terribly pale.
“You’re still awake?” He asked, surprised to see Emily awake.
“Couldn’t sleep,” she shrugged. “Are you okay?” Emily asked.
“Are you worried?” A small smirk formed on Caden’s face as he looked at Emily with amusement.
Heat rushed to Emily’s cheek as it turned rosy immediately.
“You look really pale and tired, I don’t want to become a widow at a young age that’s all” Emily defended quickly but the smirk in Caden’s face only grew wilder.
“If you say so, there’s no way I would die, there’s nothing for you to worry about” Caden replied and slumped on the couch tiredly.
“Should I get you warm milk?” Emily asked. She’s not sure if warm milk would actually help him but she can at least try.
“Yeah…” Caden smiled and Emily got up from the couch.
Emily returned with the warm milk and handed it over to Caden.
“Is something wrong with the company? You’ve never stayed this late nor have I seen you so tired” Emily asked with genuine worry.
“It’s just some issues I am trying to solve, you don’t need to worry about me” Caden smiled teasingly.
“I’m not worried about you” Emily frowned, trying to convince herself more than she was trying to convince him.
She watched him chuckle before drinking the milk, even though his face was extremely pale, he still looked very handsome.
“Am I really that handsome?” Caden turned to Emily as if reading her mind and she jolted up, her face turning red.
“It’s already late, I’m going to bed” Emily stood up and hurried upstairs to her room.
Caden chuckled as he looked at the glass of milk in his hand.

{NEXT MORNING~KINGSTON MANSION}
Beatrice watched Anthony dress for work, he hasn’t spoken to her since he came back and Beatrice saw it as a blessing because she didn’t want him beating her.
Anthony left the house and Beatrice watched his car go through the window with an expressionless face.
Her phone rang, it was Caden.
After talking to Caden for a few minutes she hung up, it was the same as always, he called to ask him how she was doing and if she was eating well.
His voice sounded tired but he cared about her a lot to call her most mornings.
Beatrice dropped her phone and opened the bedroom drawer, she opened a secret compartment beneath the drawer and brought out another phone.
She sent a message to an unknown number.
Beatrice: Don’t call me on my main number, I don’t want to face Anthony’s wrath.
After sending the message, she did some other stuff on the phone before she turned it off the phone and placed it back in the compartment.

{CADEN’S OFFICE}
“With the way things are going, we would have to resort to plan B” George said and Caden sighed.
“Damn Anthony” Caden cursed under his breaths.
“You don’t look like you’ve been sleeping well, plan B would definitely work so don’t stress yourself so much” George said worriedly.
“You know how much I hate asking people for help, I didn’t want things to get to plan B, I would make sure my lovely father paid for this” Caden spat and George sighed.
“I would go contact our plan B for a meeting, in the main time, get some sleep” George replied and walked out of Caden’s office.
His phone pinged as he made his way to his office, it was a message from an unknown number.
He walked into his office and sat down before entering the message.

{UNKNOWN LOCATION}
Anna walked into the alley quickly, she has never been in this part of New York her entire life.
She was putting on a face cap because she doesn’t want anyone knowing she came to a place like this.
She is a celebrity after all.
It would be scandalous if she was found here. In the most terrible and criminal part of New York.
All terrible things known to man were done in places like this and she wasn’t about to get her face plastered on the tabloids for visiting such a place.
If it were up to her, she surely wouldn’t have come here but she definitely wasn’t presented with a choice.
Anna turned on her phone and called the unknown number.
“I’m in the alley” she said immediately the person in the other line picked up.
“Yes I can see you” a man’s voice was heard, Anna saw a man walking towards her.
He was holding a phone to his ear.
“What do you want?” Anna hung up and glared at the unfamiliar man.
“The Boss wants you to do something very important, if you do it then your secret won’t be leaked” the man spoke calmly.
“What should I do?” Anna asked through her teeth, she knew she couldn’t go against this “Boss” because she was shown all the terrible things she had been involved in her entire life.
If even a fracture of it gets out then her career and life would fade like dust when the wind blows.
George would even hate her for good.
The man handed her a huge envelope.
“Some files are inside, all you have to do is get Anthony to sign them without reading it of course” the man said and Anna frowned.
“What? I can’t do that!” Anna retorted.
“You don’t seem to understand, you don’t have a choice, do it or else” the man threatened and walked away.
Anna screamed loudly like a maniac, rubbing her hand through her hair roughly as her breath ragged.

{NEW YORK AIRPORT}
A pretty lady in all black came down from the plane and walked towards the car waiting for her with her luggage.
She wore fancy clothes like she was the daughter of some rich tycoon.
“Greetings ma’am” the driver bowed slightly and opened the door for her.
She entered the car and the driver loaded the luggage at the back of the car before entering the driver seat.
“Should I take you to the nearest hotel?” The driver asked the lady.
“No, I want to go see Cade first” she said with a giggle like a bride that couldn’t wait to see her husband.
“But the Boss said you should avoid him at all costs,” the driver informed.
“Are you defying my orders?” The lady frowned and beads of sweet formed on the driver’s head.
“No, ma’am” he said and started the car.

Emily stood in front of the company wondering if she should go in or just turn back.
But George was the one who called her and urged her to come get Caden out of his office.
Of course she would refuse but it is really hard to refuse George because he is so persuasive.
That was the lie she used to trick herself into coming here.
In actuality, she was very worried about Caden and when George called her, her worries skyrocketed.
Emily decided to call George to inform him she was in front of the company, she didn’t want any drama with the receptionist.
Within minutes George was already in front of her.
“Thank heavens you came, you need to get Caden out of his office, he wouldn’t listen to me but I am pretty sure he would listen to his beloved wife” George said immediately he saw Emily.
He led her into the company and they took the elevator.
Throughout the elevator ride, George kept complaining about how Caden never listens and how he looked like a zombie this morning.
“Okay I would leave you here, I don’t want him knowing I asked you to come” George said and rushed into his office.
Emily sighed and walked towards Caden’s office.
She pushed the doors open and she was surprised to see a beautiful lady sitting on Caden’s lap as she smiled at him sweetly.
The sight made Emily’s head turn as fire burned in her eyes.
