You Deserve The Worse, Enzo
(One Month Later…)
For two months Vincenzo has been keeping an eye on Freya, he’s been studying her every move. But when he noticed the Black Spiders were coming after him, he decided to have a word with Freya.
Since Olsen was a very good friend of the leader of the Black Spider group, Freya is the only one who can talk to them, making them understand that he didn’t kill Olsen.
It was evening, and she was walking back home from work when a hand grabbed her to a dark corner. She almost screamed her lungs out but the figure closed her mouth with his hand.
Terrified, Freya’s heart began to beat heavily as she stared at the masked face before her. He took off the mask, and what burned inside of her was anger. Her fear faded immediately she stared at the familiar face before her.
He lets go of her. “You monster.” She cursed. “What do you want from me? To kidnap me just like you did before? Huh?”
“I’m not here to do that.”
“Then what? What do you want from me? You already killed Olsen, once made my life miserable, what else do you still want from my life?”
“I just need a favor from you.”
“Favor?” She scoffed. “You better go look for some one else who will help you with your little favor.”
She was about to leave when he grabbed her hand, causing her to stop. She froze under his touch, but neglected it. “Let go of me.” She said in clenched teeth, not sparing him a glance.
“Freya… I know we haven’t been on good terms, I know I made your life miserable but please, you have to listen to me. I didn’t kill Olsen.”
Freya turned to look at him and he let go of her hand. “I swear, I didn’t kill him.”
“Why should I believe you? Besides, you’ve been wanting to have him at all costs. You even made videos of how you torture me just to make him surrender. Why then should I believe it wasn’t you who killed my brother?”
“Look, I don’t want you to believe me, okay? I just want you to know the truth. I know I’ve always wanted to have Olsen, I’ve been desperate to have him dead. But when I had the opportunity, when I got a chance, I couldn’t do it. I was pointing the gun right on his head, but I couldn’t pull the trigger.”
Freya’s eyes sank deep into his, an unexplainable expression boldly written on her face.
“When my father showed up, he wanted to kill Olsen because he saw that I couldn’t do it myself. Olsen pleaded with me that I should be the one to kill him. He said he wanted to die by my hands and no one else. I know he killed my cousin, but Olsen has been like a brother to me.
I only wanted him to face me, I wanted us to fight off the grudges and come back together. I wanted him to admit his fault and we’ll move on like nothing ever happened, but he refused. He said he didn’t mind dying as long as you were safe from me and my father.
My dad almost shot him, but I held Olsen in my arms because I knew doing so would stop my father from pulling the trigger.” While he spoke, he fought the tears back. “But Olsen wanted to die. He wanted to stop running and face his reality. He pulled the trigger himself. I never wanted to, but he took the decision in his own hands just to protect you.”
Hot tears streamed uncontrollably down her eyes. Even being a gangster, Olsen still has a heart. No wonder why he never wanted to come over to London with her, he wanted to end things once and for all. He wanted her to be happy, all he ever wanted was the best for her.
“I’m sorry it all happened the wrong way.”
Even at the end, the love he had for Vincenzo never left. Those memories they shared didn’t fade. They were only friends, but their friendship was more like sibling’s love.
“The Black Spiders are after me and my group because they think I killed their friend. You’re the only one who can help me talk to them. Tell them I wasn’t the one who killed Olsen, I would never do that.”
Freya threw him an angry glare. “Even if it wasn’t you who killed him, you still deserve a horrible death like him. I won’t help you, and I won’t talk to them. It’s your fate, face it alone.”
She turned to leave and again, he held her hand. “This is just a favor, Freya, you won’t let them take me, will you?”
She didn’t want her emotions to cloud her feelings. Even if she did see the innocence in his eyes, not after what he did to her months back, she feels he deserves worse than that.
“If there was any thing worse than death, that’s what I want them to do to you.” She took her hands from his grip, walking out on him.
He stood there, dumbfounded. Not that he didn’t know how to handle the Black Spiders, he just wasn’t ready to kill them yet. He was more after proving his innocence. After all, they aren’t his enemies.
However, Freya locked herself in her room, thinking over all Vincenzo had told him. She wants to believe all he had said were lies, so she picked up her phone and dialed Daniel’s number.
“I want you to be sincere with me, Daniel. I want you to tell me what happened that night Olsen died.”
Daniel went ahead explaining how every thing went about that night, how Olsen had fought with Vincenzo. He told her every thing Vincenzo said, no addition and no subtraction. He told her that it wasn’t Vincenzo who killed Olsen, Olsen did it himself since Vincenzo hesitated to do it.
