You must be wondering why Nancy is saved as Romeoโ€™s Mini Me. It really is as simple as it sounds.

Her attitude mirrors his. Her aura does too. Cold, sharp, controlled. And when it comes to skill, especially as a Yakuza, sheโ€™s terrifyingly efficient.

Sheโ€™s grown so dangerous that when word spreads that it isnโ€™t Romeo or Hunter on a mission, but Nancy instead, enemies donโ€™t wait to confirm. They run.

Over the years, their bond has deepened into something unspoken but solid. Romeo treats her like the little sister he never had, and Nancy respects him in a way she respects no one else.

She listens when he speaks. She moves when he moves.

Nancy stopped in front of the hotel suite door and knocked once.

The door opened almost immediately.

They stepped inside.

The room was wide and dimly lit, heavy curtains pulled shut. Armed men lined the walls, some standing near the corners, others positioned closer to the windows.

Every single one of them was alert, hands close to their weapons, eyes locked on Romeo and Nancy as they entered.

On the couch at the center of the room sat Don Zhou.

He was a chubby man, thick around the middle, his suit stretched slightly at the buttons. His face was round, almost soft-looking, but his eyes were sharp and calculating.

This was the man who led the Zhou Clan, the biggest Triad in China. Power sat on him comfortably, like weight heโ€™d carried for decades.

โ€œMr. Dragoni,โ€ Zhou said, pushing himself forward slightly, a smile spreading across his face. โ€œItโ€™s my pleasure to finally meet you.โ€

Romeo didnโ€™t return the greeting. He walked past the armed men without hesitation and took a seat across from Zhou, his posture relaxed but dominant.

โ€œOf all places,โ€ Romeo said coolly, โ€œWhy here?โ€

Nancy sat beside him, composed, her presence just as commanding despite her silence.

โ€œI wanted us to have maximum privacy,โ€ Zhou replied smoothly.

Romeo gave a short nod, nothing more.

โ€œSo,โ€ Romeo said, crossing one leg over the other, โ€œWhatโ€™s the agenda of this meeting? Make it snappy. Itโ€™s really late.โ€

Zhouโ€™s hands clenched briefly on his knees. For a moment, something hard flashed across his face. Then he smiled again, wider this time.

โ€œAn alliance,โ€ Zhou said. โ€œBetween the Zhou Triads and the Ryukai Yakuza.โ€

The room fell silent.

Nancy didnโ€™t move, didnโ€™t react, but her eyes sharpened slightly. Romeo leaned back in his seat, expression unreadable, already weighing how much trouble that single word was going to bring.

Zhou leaned back against the couch, fingers steepled in front of him, confidence creeping back into his posture.

โ€œLetโ€™s be realistic,โ€ He began. โ€œThe Zhou Clan controls the largest weapons routes across Southern and Eastern China. From ports to inland distribution, nothing moves without my approval. Your Ryukai Yakuza dominates Japan and several offshore routes. An alliance between us isnโ€™t just reasonable, itโ€™s logical.โ€

He gestured with one hand, as if laying pieces on a table.

โ€œWe supply high-grade firearms, military surplus, and custom pieces. You handle redistribution through Japan, Southeast Asia, and your Pacific contacts. Shared ports. Shared intelligence. Shared profit. We eliminate competition and double our reach.โ€

Nancy tilted her head slightly, eyes never leaving him.

โ€œYouโ€™re assuming we need you,โ€ She said calmly.

Zhouโ€™s smile stiffened.

โ€œWe already have suppliers,โ€ Nancy continued. โ€œReliable ones. We already control shipping lanes youโ€™re trying to buy your way into. So explain something to me.โ€

She leaned forward just enough to shift the roomโ€™s attention.

โ€œWhat exactly do you bring to the table that we donโ€™t already own, run, or crush when necessary?โ€

One of Zhouโ€™s men shifted his gun. Zhouโ€™s jaw tightened.

โ€œOur production scale aloneโ€”โ€

โ€œIs impressive…โ€ Nancy cut in. โ€œBut vulnerable….โ€

Zhou frowned.

โ€œYou move bulk weapons through three major ports. Two of them are under surveillance. One of them is compromised by internal leaks. You lose a shipment every few months and call it bad luck. I call that being sloppy.โ€

Zhouโ€™s eyes darkened.

Nancy didnโ€™t stop.

โ€œYou want access to our routes because yours are in the verge of confiscation. You want protection because your enemies are getting bolder, and you want our name attached to yours so people would fear you even more.โ€

Silence pressed down on the room.

Romeo remained quiet, watching.

Zhou leaned forward, voice hard. โ€œWatch your mouth.โ€

Nancy smiled, slow and deliberate.

โ€œOr what?โ€ She asked. โ€œYouโ€™ll pull a gun in a room where youโ€™re outnumbered and outclassed? You invited us here. That tells me whoโ€™s desperate.โ€

Even though Zhou’s men outnumbers she and Romeo, it’s not like his men can win against them in a fight.

Zhouโ€™s hand slammed onto the armrest.

โ€œI want to speak to Romeo not you, little girl.โ€ He snapped.

The air shifted.

Romeo finally moved, turning his head slightly toward Zhou, his voice even.

โ€œBe careful not to get on her bad side, Mr. Zhou. If she says no, the alliance is off.โ€

Zhou stared at him, disbelief flickering across his face.

โ€œShe negotiates for you?โ€ He asked.

โ€œNo. More like she makes the decisions for me, she’s way smarter than you think. Don’t tell me you’ll let her kid intimidate you.โ€ Romeo replied.

Zhouโ€™s gaze slid back to Nancy, sharp and resentful.

Nancy met it without flinching, a small smirk pulling at her lips.

โ€œNow,โ€ She said coolly, โ€œDo you still want to talk about an alliance, or should we leave you to fix your problems alone?โ€

Zhou exhaled sharply, forcing a smile that didnโ€™t reach his eyes.

โ€œSo,โ€ he said, looking at Nancy, โ€œWhat do you think about my offer?โ€

He already knows there’s no use talking too much.

Nancy stood up without answering.

โ€œIโ€™ll get back to you.โ€

Romeo rose immediately after her. They turned and walked out together.

โ€”

Outside, the night air was cool and quiet.

Romeo stopped near the entrance. โ€œWant me to take you home?โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ Nancy said flatly.

He nodded once.

โ€œSo what now?โ€ she asked.

โ€œWhat?โ€ he replied.

โ€œRias is back, duh.โ€ She crossed her arms. โ€œWhat are you gonna do? Wonโ€™t you try to win her over?โ€

โ€œYour sister has a boyfriend,โ€ Romeo said.

โ€œBut you like her.โ€

โ€œWho said I do?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m just assuming.โ€

โ€œWell, stop assuming.โ€

Nancy rolled her eyes. โ€œBut still, I donโ€™t like this boyfriend of hers. She refused to show me a picture of him, and even his mom, claiming he didnโ€™t want to. He sounds suspicious.โ€

Romeo looked at her.

She faced him fully. โ€œCโ€™mon. She should be with you. Iโ€™m rooting for you two, you know. I donโ€™t care about her silly boyfriend.โ€

โ€œCome here,โ€ He said.

She stepped forward without hesitation.

He lifted his hand and flicked her forehead.

โ€œOuch,โ€ she hissed.

โ€œGo home,โ€ He said, already turning away. โ€œAnd donโ€™t drive recklessly.โ€

He walked off.

โ€œI know you like her!!โ€ Nancy yelled after him.

Rias heard a knock on her door and was about to answer when it opened.

โ€œHey.โ€ she said.

โ€œHi.โ€ Nancy replied.

โ€œYouโ€™re not gonna hug me?โ€ Rias asked, spreading her arms.

Nancy walked closer and hugged her tightly.

โ€œCan you stop acting like youโ€™re all grown up? Youโ€™re still my kid sis, you know,โ€ Rias said with a soft smile.

Nancy chuckled and sat on the edge of the bed.

โ€œSo? Grandpa said you joined the Yakuza,โ€ Rias said, curiosity lacing her voice.

โ€œYeah,โ€ Nancy replied calmly.

โ€œBut why? Isnโ€™t that dangerous?โ€ Rias pressed.

โ€œNot if you can handle it,โ€ Nancy said, leaning back slightly.

Rias sat beside her. โ€œSoโ€ฆ when Romeo brought me back from the airport, someone called him. It was a lady, saved as โ€˜Mini Me.โ€™โ€

Nancy laughed lightly.

โ€œDoes he have a child?โ€ Rias asked, a hint of confusion in her voice.

Nancy laughed harder this time.

โ€œItโ€™s not funny,โ€ Rias said, frowning.

โ€œWho do you think it is?โ€ Nancy asked, grinning.

โ€œI donโ€™t know, thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m asking,โ€ Rias admitted.

โ€œItโ€™s me. You donโ€™t have to worry,โ€ Nancy said firmly.

โ€œOhโ€ฆโ€ Rias muttered, still processing.

โ€œWaitโ€ฆ why are you even worried?โ€ Nancy asked, raising an eyebrow.

โ€œNothing,โ€ Rias said quickly.

โ€œOh really? You thought he already moved on?โ€ Nancy smirked, nudging her lightly.

โ€œNo. Anywaysโ€ฆ my boyfriend and his mom will be coming to Tokyo tomorrow. They want to meet Grandpa,โ€ Rias said.

Nancy rolled her eyes.

โ€œWhatโ€™s with that eye roll?โ€ Rias asked.

โ€œJust know that I donโ€™t like him,โ€ Nancy replied bluntly.

โ€œWhy?โ€ Rias asked, surprised.

โ€œNever mind. Goodnight,โ€ Nancy said, standing and walking toward the door before Rias could respond.

Rias watched her leave. That’s weird.

Lin stormed into the expansive living room, her heels striking the marble floor sharply.

Zhou was standing near the center of the room, speaking in low tones to a few of his men. The moment Lin appeared, every head turned.

They straightened instantly and bowed.

โ€œYou can all leave,โ€ Zhou said calmly.

The men filed out without a word, the room falling quiet the second the doors closed behind them.

โ€œDaddy,โ€ Lin said, crossing the room in quick strides.

Zhouโ€™s stern expression softened immediately. โ€œMy sweetheart.โ€

She folded her arms, clearly annoyed. โ€œSo? How did it go?โ€

Zhou exhaled slowly. โ€œWeโ€™ll have to wait for them to get back to us. Romeo isnโ€™t an easy man to corner. Heโ€™s tough.โ€

Lin clicked her tongue, displeased. โ€œThatโ€™s exactly why we need this alliance. If the Zhou clan and the Ryukai Yakuza work together, I can stay close to him. I donโ€™t want delays.โ€

Zhou studied her, then shook his head slightly. โ€œPatience, Lin. You donโ€™t want to get on his bad side. That man doesnโ€™t respond well to pressure.โ€

She frowned deeper.

โ€œI told you to arrange a marriage,โ€ She snapped. โ€œAnd you refused.โ€

โ€œLin,โ€ Zhou said gently but firmly, โ€œYou canโ€™t just ask me to propose marriage to Romeo. He isnโ€™t interested. He barely tolerates negotiations, let alone something like that.โ€

โ€œBut he had a wife before,โ€ Lin shot back quickly. โ€œGood thing they divorced.โ€

Zhou sighed. โ€œThat was different. Their families were already close. History matters in these things.โ€

Lin turned away with a huff, clearly sulking.

โ€œDonโ€™t worry,โ€ Zhou added, stepping closer. โ€œOnce the alliance is finalized, you can move to Tokyo. Youโ€™ll have all the chances you want to get closer to him.โ€

She pouted, lips pushed out in a childish expression that didnโ€™t match her age or status.

Zhou chuckled and lifted her chin with a finger. โ€œSmile for daddy.โ€

Linโ€™s expression shifted instantly. She smiled sweetly, almost too sweet.

โ€œI better not find out thereโ€™s another woman close to him. I wonโ€™t take that lightly.โ€ She scoffed.

Zhouโ€™s smile faded just a bit as he studied her face. โ€œWeโ€™ll handle it properly,โ€ he said.

Lin nodded, satisfied for now, already convinced that whatever she wanted, her father would eventually make happen.

The last beat faded out through the speakers. Levi pulled the headphones off his head and leaned back in the chair, rubbing his face.

His voice was rough, throat tired from hours in the booth.

Sky sat beside him on the couch, elbows on his knees, watching him.

โ€œTrackโ€™s clean,โ€ Sky said. โ€œYou killed it.โ€

โ€œDoesnโ€™t feel like it.โ€Levi gave a tired nod.

Sky glanced at him. โ€œThat bad?โ€

Levi sighed and stood, grabbing a bottle of water from the table. He took a long drink, then dropped back onto the couch beside Sky.

โ€œItโ€™s Ginger,โ€ He said quietly. โ€œSame shit, different day.โ€

Sky turned fully toward him. โ€œTalk to me, what’s wrong.โ€

Levi stared at the studio wall for a second, then shook his head.

โ€œI donโ€™t get it, man. I do everything. I make time for her, I take her out, I listen, I reassure her every damn day. I cancel sessions, cancel meetings, push deadlines just to be with her.โ€

โ€œAnd?โ€ Sky asked.

โ€œAnd itโ€™s never enough,โ€ Levi snapped, then immediately softened.

โ€œItโ€™s likeโ€ฆ no matter how much I give, she still wants more. If I sit down to work for an hour, suddenly I donโ€™t care about her. If I want space, Iโ€™m โ€˜pulling away.โ€™ If I focus on my career, Iโ€™m choosing music over her.โ€

Sky nodded slowly. โ€œSounds exhausting.โ€

โ€œIt is,โ€ Levi admitted. โ€œI feel drained all the time. Like Iโ€™m disappearing just to keep her happy, and sheโ€™s still not happy.โ€

Sky leaned back. โ€œHave you told her this?โ€

โ€œI try,โ€ Levi said. โ€œBut it always turns into a fight. She hears โ€˜youโ€™re not enoughโ€™ when Iโ€™m just saying โ€˜I need room to breathe.โ€™โ€

Sky was quiet for a moment. โ€œDo you still love her?โ€

Leviโ€™s jaw tightened. โ€œYeah. I do. Thatโ€™s the f+ked-up part. If I didnโ€™t, I wouldโ€™ve walked already.โ€

โ€œLove isnโ€™t supposed to feel like youโ€™re drowning,โ€ Sky said calmly.

โ€œYou shouldnโ€™t have to break yourself just to keep someone comfortable. Take this from me, I’ve been in that kind of relationship where she doesn’t appreciate you. It was hell.โ€

Levi laughed under his breath. โ€œTell that to her.โ€

Sky glanced at him. โ€œBroโ€ฆ youโ€™re allowed to want your own life. Your work, your silence, your space. If she canโ€™t accept that, it’s her fault for being insecure then.โ€

Levi rubbed his hands together, restless. โ€œI keep thinking if I just try harder, sheโ€™ll finally be satisfied.โ€

Sky looked him dead in the eye. โ€œOr sheโ€™ll just keep up the same attitude.โ€

Levi went quiet at that.

The studio lights hummed softly above them.

โ€œWhatever you decide,โ€ Sky added, โ€œDonโ€™t lose yourself trying to save a relationship thatโ€™s already bleeding you dry.โ€

Levi nodded slowly, the words settling heavier than the music ever did.

The door clicked open, and Nancy strutted in, her presence immediately filling the studio.

โ€œHello, boys,โ€ She purred, walking with that confident sway that always seemed to captivate everyone in the room.

Skyโ€™s eyes widened, and before he could react, she slid onto his lap, pressing a quick kiss to his lips.

โ€œBabe, I thought I said Iโ€™d pick you up,โ€ He murmured, hands resting lightly on her hips.

โ€œI was already getting bored, so I decided to come by,โ€ She replied, voice playful as she shifted her attention to Levi.

โ€œHowโ€™s your album coming along, Levi?โ€ She asked, leaning casually against the table, eyes bright with curiosity.

โ€œAlmost at the finishing stage.โ€ Levi said with a tired but satisfied smile, brushing a hand over his tablet.

โ€œYou two have a collaboration song on the album, right?โ€ Nancy tilted her head, her smile teasing but genuine.

Levi nodded. โ€œYeah, we do.โ€

โ€œI canโ€™t wait for it to be released,โ€ she giggled, brushing her fingers along her arm absentmindedly.

Sky leaned back, a grin tugging at his lips.

โ€œI guess you havenโ€™t changedโ€”youโ€™re still a hardcore fan girl.โ€ He reached out and tickled her side lightly.

โ€œStop it!โ€ She laughed, squirming slightly in his hold, her cheeks flushed.

Levi raised a brow. โ€œAre you twoโ€ฆ going out?โ€

โ€œYeah. A date,โ€ Sky replied smoothly, wrapping an arm around her waist protectively.

โ€œOh,โ€ Levi said, shaking his head with a small chuckle. โ€œIโ€™ll head home now. See you guys later.โ€

โ€œSure, bro,โ€ Sky replied, as Levi stood and collected his things before he left first.

Nancy turned her attention back to Sky, her lips curling into a small smirk.

โ€œYou ready to go?โ€ he asked, holding out a hand.

โ€œYeah, Iโ€™ll just use the restroom first,โ€ She said, pecking him lightly on the lips before standing.

She sauntered toward the restroom, still radiating that playful, confident energy that made Sky grin from ear to ear.

Sky leaned against the chair, scrolling through his phone when the door opened.

โ€œGinger?โ€ he called.

โ€œHey, Sky. Is Levi still here?โ€ she asked, walking in casually, eyes scanning the room.

โ€œHe already left,โ€ Sky replied.

She paused, fidgeting slightly. โ€œDo you think heโ€™sโ€ฆ angry with me?โ€

Sky shook his head. โ€œYou should sort things out with him. I donโ€™t want to pry in your relationship.โ€

Ginger nodded, looking at him for a moment. Sky ruffled his hair absentmindedly, smiling at something on his phone.

Her gaze lingered on him. Heโ€™sโ€ฆ gotten hotter recently, she thought, biting her lip unconsciously.

โ€œAre youโ€ฆ waiting for someone?โ€ she asked, trying to hide the slight flutter in her chest.

โ€œYes. Nancy is in the restroom,โ€ he said casually.

Ginger hesitated for a moment before asking, โ€œDo youโ€ฆ wanna hang out sometime?โ€

He raised a brow, pausing. โ€œHang out? Together?โ€

โ€œOhโ€ฆ you mean like a double date with you and Levi?โ€ he said, catching her meaning.

She frowned inwardly, disappointment flashing across her features. โ€œYeah,โ€ she muttered.

โ€œSure. Letโ€™s all do that sometime,โ€ he said with a grin, and she forced a small smile in response.

At that moment, the restroom door opened, and Nancy walked out, her usual confident energy filling the room.

โ€œGinger,โ€ she greeted warmly, smiling.

โ€œHi, girl,โ€ Ginger said, returning the smile, and they hugged briefly.

A few words were exchanged, casual and friendly, before Nancy glanced at Sky.

โ€œCome on, Sky. Letโ€™s go,โ€ she said, nudging him gently.

โ€œYeah, letโ€™s get going,โ€ he replied, and they left together.

As the door clicked shut behind them, Ginger stayed behind, leaning against the counter.

Her thoughts wandered, a small mischievous smirk forming on her lips.

Sky. That smile of his, itโ€™s kind of distracting. Huh. I didnโ€™t really notice him like this before. Maybe itโ€™s just me, orโ€ฆ maybe heโ€™s changed.

She shook her head lightly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, a small smile tugging at her lips as she glanced at the door, curiosity and intrigue quietly settling in.

Should I try getting close to him?

Rias walked downstairs, spotting Ashton and his mother, Reiko, already waiting.

โ€œBabe.โ€ She stepped forward and hugged him.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close before pressing his lips to hers.

โ€œI missed you,โ€ Ashton said softly.

โ€œI was only gone for a day,โ€ Rias chuckled, smiling against his chest.

โ€œGood evening, Mom,โ€ she added, turning to Reiko.

โ€œGood evening, dear,โ€ Reiko replied warmly.

Rafael descended the stairs, Nancy walking just behind him.

โ€œGrandpa, this is Ashton, my boyfriend, and Reiko, his mom,โ€ Rias introduced.

โ€œGood day, sir. Iโ€™ve heard soโ€ฆ much about you,โ€ Ashton said, extending a hand.

โ€œGood evening, son,โ€ Rafael responded, then his gaze shifted to Reiko, and he paused for a brief moment as if trying to remember her face.

โ€œGood evening,โ€ Reiko replied politely.

โ€œAnd this is Nancy, my sister,โ€ Rias continued. โ€œNancy, say hello.โ€

Nancy glanced at Ashton briefly, then turned her attention away, cool and indifferent.

โ€œGood evening,โ€ she said curtly to Reiko.

Ashtonโ€™s brow raised slightly. โ€œSeems like Iโ€™ll have to earn your trust.โ€

โ€œYou donโ€™t need to. Wonโ€™t make a difference,โ€ Nancy replied, her tone sharp.

Rias stepped in, trying to ease the tension. โ€œLetโ€™s head to the dining room. Are we waiting for anyone else?โ€

โ€œYes, I invited Angelo and Hinata,โ€ Rafael said casually.

โ€œHuh?โ€ Rias raised her eyebrows, surprised.

Just then, as they all settled on the couch, Hinata arrived with Angelo. The minute her eyes landed on Reiko and Ashton, she froze.

โ€œReiko?โ€ Hinataโ€™s voice was sharp, incredulous.

โ€œHello, Hinata. Long time no see.โ€Reiko smiled politely.

โ€œAunt Hinata, do you know her?โ€ Rias asked, confused.

โ€œDonโ€™t be silly, Rias,โ€ Hinata said, her voice low, almost venomous. โ€œThis is my little sister. Or should I sayโ€ฆ my bitch of a sister.โ€

โ€œHoney,โ€ Angelo muttered softly, as if trying to calm the air.

โ€œSister?โ€ Rias turned to Ashton, eyes wide.

โ€œAshton, how come I never knew? So you knew all along? Is that why you chose to come to Tokyo with me?โ€ Riasโ€™s voice was half shock, half accusation.

Nancy scoffed quietly from the side, arms crossed.

โ€œCโ€™mon, I recently found out that you knew the Dragoni’s, babe. Just wanted it to be a surprise,โ€ Ashton said with a grin.

โ€œWell, Iโ€™m not surprised,โ€ Rias replied, shaking her head.

โ€œOh, so youโ€™re Reiko, as in Hinataโ€™s sister,โ€ Rafael said, looking at her closely. โ€œWas wondering where I knew that name and face from. Last I saw you, you were a teenager.โ€

Before anyone could respond, the living room door opened and Romeo stepped in. The room immediately went tense.

Rias froze, her gaze locked on him. โ€œRomeo?โ€

โ€œRomeo, didnโ€™t know youโ€™d show up,โ€ Angelo said casually, trying to ease the sudden tension.

Romeo paused at the doorway. His dark eyes scanned the room, and they immediately landed on Ashtonโ€™s hand resting on Riasโ€™s waist.

He scoffed, and he tucked his hands into his pockets. His gaze flicked from Reiko to Ashton, sharp and calculating.

โ€œAshton? Youโ€™re still alive? Punk, I thought you were dead,โ€ Romeo scoffed, his tone icy and dangerous.

โ€œRomeo, I see you still lack respect. Arenโ€™t you gonna greet your aunt?โ€ Reiko said, stepping forward, her voice calm but firm.

Romeoโ€™s eyes snapped to her. โ€œWoman, sit your ass down. I ainโ€™t talking to you, bitch,โ€ He said calmly, his temper flaring instantly.

Nancy and Hinata laughed quietly in the background.

Reikoโ€™s face flushed red with rage, her hands clenching at her sides.

โ€œRomeo, can you please try to be respectful? Thatโ€™s my boyfriendโ€™s mother youโ€™re disrespecting,โ€ Rias said, her voice firm but uneasy.

Romeo finally turned to look at Rias, his dark eyes sharp, calculating, and dangerous.

โ€œSeriously? Ashtonโ€™s your boyfriend?โ€ Romeo scoffed, the corner of his mouth curling with disdain.

โ€œWhat the f+k is that scoff and that look for? What are you trying to imply?โ€ Ashton said, standing up, his jaw tight, eyes locked on Romeo.

Romeo didnโ€™t answer immediately. He glanced past Ashton, his eyes landing on Rias, who was still seated, calm but tense.

โ€œSeriously, Rias,โ€ He said, his voice low, controlled, and cold.

โ€œSince when did your taste in men drop to a flat, unseasoned pancake of a man?โ€ His tone was quiet but laced with venom, like he didnโ€™t even need to raise his voice to make Ashton feel the weight of it.

Ashtonโ€™s hand shot out and grabbed Romeo by the collar.

โ€œBoy, get yo hands off me!โ€ Romeo growled.

Romeoโ€™s gaze didnโ€™t flinch. He glared back, unshaken, his presence radiating danger. The kind of danger that makes a man think twice before moving.

Ashton squeezed harder, and finally let go. Ashton then stepped forward, taking Riasโ€™s hand protectively.

โ€œThis night is a family get-together and my official introduction to the Gremory familyโ€”as itโ€™s known to everyone in this room, that Rias is my girl. So letโ€™s respect that.โ€ Ashton said, his smirk calm but challenging, trying to meet Romeoโ€™s intimidating presence with confidence.

Romeoโ€™s expression remained neutral, his eyes sharp and unreadable, but the tension in the room made it clear that the air between the two men could snap at any moment.

โ€œThe food is ready,โ€ a maid announced, breaking the moment.

Angelo, Reiko, Hinata, and Rafael headed out first, leaving the room tense but quieter.

Nancy looked at Rias, smirked, and walked out. Rias followed her, casting one last glance at the two men.

Romeo turned to leave as well but Ashton stepped directly in his path, arms crossed, blocking him.

Romeoโ€™s eyes bore into Ashtonโ€™s, dark and unyielding, like a storm barely held back.

โ€œListen carefully, Romeo,โ€ Ashton said, trying to match his calm with authority.

โ€œRias is my girlfriend, and Iโ€™d really appreciate it if you actually kept your distance from her.โ€

Romeo tilted his head, studying him, a faint smirk brushing his lips.

โ€œWhat am I supposed to do with that information?โ€ He asked, voice low, controlled, almost teasing, but every word carried a weight that made Ashtonโ€™s jaw tighten.

โ€œI know you two were married once, and she was crazy in love with you,โ€ Ashton continued, his hands clenching slightly.

โ€œBut itโ€™s different now. Youโ€™re a really disrespectful punkโ€”but you better keep it to yourself.โ€

Romeo took a deliberate step closer, closing the distance between them. The air seemed to grow heavier, oppressive.

โ€œSoโ€ฆ why are you telling me all this?โ€ He said, leaning in until his face was only inches from Ashtonโ€™s.

โ€œAre you scared? That she might fall in love with me again? Or that she mightโ€ฆ still be in love with me?โ€

Ashtonโ€™s glare didnโ€™t falter, but a flicker of unease crossed his eyes.

โ€œYou should better hold your lady dear,โ€ Romeo whispered, his tone dangerous, almost a growl.

โ€œCause you know why? I ainโ€™t gonna promise you that I wonโ€™t try to take herโ€ฆ whenever I want.โ€

Ashtonโ€™s fists tightened at his sides.

Romeo didnโ€™t stop there. He leaned closer, his breath just brushing Ashtonโ€™s ear, low and lethal.

โ€œAnd trust me, Ashtonโ€ฆ I donโ€™t like sharing whatโ€™s mine. Not with anyone. Not a man, not a woman. Not even with death itself.โ€

He straightened, his smirk returning but it didnโ€™t reach his eyes.

Ashton stepped back slightly, feeling the full weight of Romeoโ€™s presence, but refused to look away.

โ€œKeep your hands off her,โ€ Ashton said, his voice low, steady, a warning wrapped in steel.

โ€œOr what? What are you going to do about it, my dear cousin?โ€ Romeoโ€™s tone was silky, almost mocking, but every word dripped with threat.

Ashtonโ€™s fists clenched at his sides. His knuckles whitened.

Romeo took a slow step closer, his eyes never leaving Ashtonโ€™s.

โ€œDonโ€™t worry,โ€ He said, voice calm, measuredโ€ฆ terrifying. โ€œI donโ€™t plan on stealing her away from youโ€ฆโ€

He paused, letting the words hang in the air, the smirk playing on his lips.

โ€œโ€ฆAt leastโ€ฆ not yet.โ€

Ashtonโ€™s face reddened with a mix of anger and frustration.

โ€œYou punk!!โ€ he barked, his voice cracking.
