Romeo took two deliberate steps forward, the marble floor barely making a sound beneath his shoes. He slipped his hands into his pockets.

A slow, humorless breath left him.

โ€œHm. So youโ€™ll really disown your own son?โ€ he said quietly. โ€œBecause I refuse to get back together with Rias?โ€

Hinata didnโ€™t answer. Her fist was clenched, eyes blazing.

Romeo tilted his head slightly, as if studying her.

โ€œThen listen very carefully, Hinata. I want this to be clear.โ€

His voice dropped cold.

โ€œI donโ€™t like Rias.โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t like how she looks. I donโ€™t like her personality. I donโ€™t like her mentally.โ€ His mouth twisted in disgust. โ€œFuck, I donโ€™t even like the fact that she exists.โ€

โ€œRomeoโ€”โ€ Hinata started, shocked.

He cut her off instantly.

โ€œYou keep calling Bianca a slut,โ€ He continued, stepping closer now, his presence pressing into the room, โ€œ…but do you know what your precious Rias has been doing?โ€

Hinataโ€™s eyes flickered.

โ€œSheโ€™s been throwing herself at me. Shamelessly, And you know what I hate more than anything?โ€ His tone hardened.

Silence.

โ€œI hate women who think they can use their bodies to trap me.โ€ His eyes burned. โ€œThat includes Rias.โ€

Hinataโ€™s lips parted, furious. โ€œWatch your mouthโ€”โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ Romeo snapped. โ€œYou watch yours.โ€

He leaned in just enough for the threat to land, voice low and lethal.

โ€œThe next time you or Rias say anything filthy about Bianca, youโ€™ll answer to me.โ€ A pause. โ€œAnd trust me when I say this, I will slap the living daylight out of both of you.โ€

Hinata recoiled a step, rage exploding across her face.

โ€œDid you just threaten to slap me?โ€ She demanded. โ€œI am your mother!โ€

Romeoโ€™s lips curled, not in a smile, but something colder.

โ€œMother?โ€ He echoed. โ€œI thought Iโ€™d already been disowned.โ€

He straightened, hands still in his pockets, gaze stripped of warmth.

Then he turned his back on her.

And walked out.

—-

Romeo walked out of the house without looking back and slid into the driverโ€™s seat. Bianca was already inside the car, hands folded on her lap, eyes lifting to him the moment the door shut.

โ€œHey,โ€ she said softly. โ€œHowโ€™s your mom? What did you two talk about?โ€

Romeo pulled the door closed, his jaw tight as he fastened his seatbelt.

โ€œSheโ€™s probably drowning in rage,โ€ He said flatly. โ€œExcept, sheโ€™s not my mom anymore.โ€

Bianca turned fully toward him. โ€œWhat? Romeoโ€”what happened?โ€

He reached across her without a word and clipped her seatbelt into place.

โ€œYou love asking questions, Bianca,โ€ He muttered, eyes lifting to hers. Their faces were inches apart now, his gaze unreadable.

Her brows knitted.

โ€œWhat happened?โ€ she pressed. โ€œWhat do you mean sheโ€™s not your mom anymore? What did you do, Romeo?โ€

His hand withdrew slowly.
โ€œI just got disowned,โ€ He said lowly.

โ€œDisowned?โ€ The word barely left her lips.

โ€œShe asked me to choose,โ€ He continued, leaning back as he started the engine. โ€œYou or Rias. I didnโ€™t give her the answer she wanted so now she’s pissed.โ€

โ€œPretty lame way to try and trap me.โ€A humorless scoff.

Bianca swallowed.

โ€œRomeoโ€ฆ why not just do what she wants?โ€ She said carefully. โ€œI donโ€™t mind. I was already preparing myself for the possibility that youโ€™d reject me when I asked you back then. I donโ€™t want to be the reason you and your mother become enemies. Sheโ€™s still your mom.โ€

He turned to her then, really looked at her.

โ€œDo you trust me?โ€

โ€œRomeoโ€”โ€

โ€œAnswer me.โ€

She hesitated for only a second. โ€œI do.โ€

โ€œGood.โ€

He shifted the gear and pulled out of the driveway.

His phone buzzed against the console. Bianca picked it up, her eyes scanning the screen.

โ€œTiago just texted,โ€ She said. โ€œGoro wants you at headquarters.โ€

โ€œWhy?โ€Romeo frowned slightly.

โ€œHe says itโ€™s important. Goro wants to see the leaders of every clan.โ€

โ€œHm,โ€ Romeo murmured, eyes back on the road, his grip tightening on the wheel as the car disappeared down the street.

_____
[๐˜๐š๐ค๐ฎ๐ณ๐š ๐‡๐]

Romeo walked into the meeting room with Bianca beside him.

The doors slid shut behind them with a heavy, deliberate sound that echoed through the vast chamber. The room itself was circular, A massive obsidian round table sat at the center, its polished surface reflecting the cold white lights hanging above.

The seat was occupied.

Six leaders of the seven clans in Tokyo.

Each leader had one trusted member seated slightly behind them.

Romeo simply walked forward, pulled out a chair, and sat down, Bianca settling beside him.

Goro, seated at the head of the table, watched them closely.

โ€œI thought you wouldnโ€™t show up.โ€ Goro said at last, his voice low and gravelly.

Romeo leaned back in his chair, resting one arm casually along the backrest.

โ€œWhyโ€™s that?โ€ He asked.

โ€œWell, disobedience is your middle name.โ€ Aizawa, seated two chairs to Goroโ€™s left, scoffed loudly.

A few of the leaders smirked. Others watched carefully, waiting to see if Romeo would react.

He didnโ€™t even look at Aizawa.

Instead, Romeo turned his attention back to Goro. โ€œWhatโ€™s the purpose of this meeting?โ€

Goroโ€™s lips twitched, not quite a smile, not quite a frown. He appreciated the directness.

โ€œApparently,โ€ Goro began, folding his hands on the table, โ€œ….we received intel that the Black Fang Clan in Italy wiped out all seventy Mafia clans in Europe. And now theyโ€™re the ones in charge in general.โ€

The room erupted instantly.

Murmurs, sharp whispers and chairs shifting.

โ€œSeventy?โ€
โ€œThatโ€™s impossible.โ€
โ€œAre they that crazy?.โ€
โ€œEurope has always been fragmentedโ€”โ€

Biancaโ€™s gaze flicked to Romeo.

He met her eyes for a brief second.

Something unreadable passed between them before she looked away again, her fist tightening.

Goro raised one hand.

Silence fell slowly, grudgingly.

โ€œAdditionally,โ€ Goro continued, โ€œ…weโ€™re certain the Italian Mafia is positioning itself for a larger expansion.โ€

A pause.

โ€œWe believe they may be preparing to wage war against Mafia clans in Asia.โ€

The murmurs returned, louder this time.

โ€œDo other countries in Asia know?โ€Kai leaned forward, his fingers steepled.

โ€œYes,โ€ Clara answered calmly, her voice cutting through the noise. She sat beside Goro, poised and composed, eyes sharp with intelligence. โ€œChina. Korea. Thailand. Philippines, even parts of Russia. Theyโ€™ve been informed.โ€

โ€œAnd?โ€ Kai pressed.

Clara exhaled slowly. โ€œAccording to them, itโ€™s better not to assume the Italian Mafia is trying to wage war against Asia.โ€

A sharp laugh echoed from the far side of the table.

โ€œAre they stupid or just dumb?โ€ One of the leaders snapped. โ€œYou donโ€™t wipe out an entire continentโ€™s underworld and stop there.โ€

โ€œExactly,โ€ Another chimed in. โ€œThey shouldn’t let their guards down like that.โ€

โ€œWell, it doesnโ€™t matter, does it? If the Italian Mafia were to attack Asia, the Yakuza would be their first target since we have the strongest base amongst all others in Asia.โ€ Goro said.

The weight of that statement settled heavily in the room.

Romeoโ€™s jaw tightened slightly.

โ€œSo,โ€ Clara continued, turning her attention toward him, โ€œ…we should probably strategize on how to respond before they try anything against us. Romeo, what do you think?โ€

Every eye shifted to him.

Romeo didnโ€™t answer immediately.

Then he leaned forward, resting both forearms on the table.

โ€œWe donโ€™t have to declare war against them yet,โ€ Romeo said calmly.

A few brows furrowed.

โ€œBut,โ€ He continued, โ€œ….we prepare for one as if itโ€™s already inevitable.โ€

โ€œMeaning?โ€ Kai asked.

Romeo turned his head slightly toward him.

โ€œEach of you has influence beyond Japan. Some of you have ports. Others have people embedded in customs, shipping companies, embassies, or underground markets.โ€

He looked at Goro directly now.

โ€œWe donโ€™t have to rush into anything,โ€ he said. โ€œEach clan must gather intel on the Italian Mafia on their own.โ€

The room stayed quiet as he continued.

โ€œFind out how they operate, and how far their influence really goes. We need to know if theyโ€™re actually planning to move into Asia or if this is just posturing after taking over Europe.โ€

He glanced around the table.

โ€œAnd if we confirm theyโ€™re preparing for war against us, we donโ€™t sit back and wait. Waiting gives them the advantage.โ€

โ€œSo youโ€™re saying we attack first?โ€ Kai asked.

โ€œYes,โ€ Romeo replied plainly. โ€œBy the time they try to make a move on Asia, we’ll already attack them. A suprise attack on them will weaken their defenses and give us the upper hand.โ€

A short silence followed.

Then nods.

One after another, the leaders agreed.

Goro finally spoke. โ€œThat settles it.โ€

He looked around the table. โ€œEach clan will gather its own intel and report back. You have one week.โ€

His gaze hardened slightly.

โ€œIโ€™ll call for another meeting once the reports are in.โ€

The meeting adjourned.

Romeo looked at Bianca and she was smirking to herself, he smirked as well when their eyes met.

_____
[๐‘๐˜๐”๐Š๐€๐ˆ]

Romeo and Bianca stepped out of the car.

The compound was already alive with people heading towards the Casino and brothels.

Men in black moved along the perimeter in silent patrols, boots crunching lightly against gravel.

Some stood posted at corners with rifles strapped across their chests, others paced slowly with earpieces tucked in.

Bianca adjusted her jacket as they headed toward the entrance.

Romeo walked a few steps behind her, hands tucked into his pockets, unhurried. Watching.

โ€œBianca,โ€ he called.

She stopped and turned.

โ€œYes?โ€ she asked.

He closed the distance between them in two long strides, his height eclipsing hers. His voice dropped, low enough that only she could hear.

โ€œLetโ€™s talk later.โ€

Bianca swallowed, feeling the weight behind the words, then nodded.

Romeo didnโ€™t wait for anything else. He walked past her and entered first.

โ€œYouโ€™re finally back,โ€ Hunter said, falling into step beside him as they headed toward Romeoโ€™s suite.

Tiago joined them from the corridor. โ€œHow was the meeting? What was it about?โ€

โ€œWe should probably start preparing for a war.โ€Bianca answered before Romeo could.

Hunter stopped walking. โ€œA war? What do you mean, war?โ€

Tiago looked sharply at Romeo. โ€œBoss?โ€

Romeo kept walking till they entered his suite. โ€œTiago.โ€

โ€œYes, boss.โ€

โ€œI want you to oversee the armory,โ€ Romeo said calmly. โ€œBullets, guns, rifles, explosives, body armor, communication devices. Make sure we have more than enough.โ€

Tiago nodded immediately.

โ€œInform the men as well,โ€ Romeo added. โ€œIf what we suspect is true, we may be heading to Italy soon for a war.โ€

โ€œYes, boss,โ€ Tiago said and peeled off down another corridor.

Hunter exhaled slowly. โ€œThis is serious. Out of everything I wanted right now, a war is dead last.โ€

Romeo glanced at him. โ€œYou scared?โ€

Hunter scoffed. โ€œDo I look scared to you?โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ Romeo replied.

โ€œThen why ask?โ€ Hunter shot back.

Romeo gave a short scoff and turned toward his bedroom.

โ€œBy the way,โ€ Hunter added, following him a few steps, โ€œ…your mom called earlier. Told me to talk to you. You really got disowned?โ€

โ€œGot a problem with that?โ€ Romeo asked flatly.

โ€œNo,โ€ Hunter said. โ€œJust saying. Youโ€™re stubborn as hell.โ€

He paused, then added, โ€œYou should start preparing for the trip too. Weโ€™re leaving in a week.โ€

Romeo stopped at his door and looked back. โ€œWhy do I need to start getting ready now? Do I look like a lady to you?โ€

Hunter rolled his eyes. โ€œWhatever. Iโ€™m leaving. Iโ€™ve got something to handle.โ€

He turned and walked away, leaving Romeo standing at the entrance to his room.

Bianca followed Romeo inside his room and shut the door before turning to him.

โ€œTrip?โ€ Bianca echoed, walking closer. โ€œYouโ€™re going on a trip with Hunter?โ€

Romeo didnโ€™t answer immediately.

He reached up and pulled his shirt over his head, the fabric sliding off his body like it was nothing.

He tossed it aside, then unclasped his wristwatch and dropped it on the dresser with a soft clink.

โ€œParis,โ€ He said casually. โ€œIt’s some college reunion crap. Donโ€™t even know why I agreed to go.โ€

Bianca stopped right in front of him. Her lips pushed into a small pout before she even realized she was doing it.

Romeo turned fully toward her, one brow lifting.

โ€œYou gonna miss me?โ€ He asked, a sly edge curling his voice.

โ€œHm.โ€ She wrapped her arms around his neck, fingers lacing together behind him, tilting her face up so their eyes met. โ€œWhat do you think?โ€

His mouth curved slowly.

His hand slid down her back, firm, possessive and then he gave her ass a light, sharp smack. Just enough to make her gasp and glare at him at the same time.

โ€œRomeo,โ€ She muttered, half-amused.

He leaned closer, lowering his voice. โ€œI have something I need you to do for me.โ€

He brushed his lips near her ear and whispered.

Biancaโ€™s smile changed instantly, darker, as Romeo told her a couple of things.

โ€œSure,โ€ She said smoothly. โ€œEnjoy your trip. Iโ€™ll take care of things.โ€

She kissed him, slow and deliberate.

Romeo kissed her back harder this time, his grip tightening as he lifted her effortlessly, her legs instinctively wrapping around his waist.

Without breaking contact, he started toward the bathroom.

โ€œHey,โ€ Bianca laughed softly, breathless. โ€œWhat are you up to?โ€

He pushed the bathroom door open and leaned in close, his mouth brushing her ear.

โ€œSomething nasty,โ€ He murmured.

He shut the door behind them.

โ€œF+kโ€”Romeo,โ€ Bianca laughed, her voice echoing faintly. โ€œSlow down, will you?โ€

His low chuckle answered her.

And whatever happened next stayed behind that closed door, heated, reckless, and unmistakably theirs.

Levi stepped out of his room, tugging his joggers up his hips, hair still damp like heโ€™d just come from the shower. He was halfway to the living room when he stopped short.

Sky stood there.

Levi blinked once. Then twice.

โ€œSky?โ€ he called, genuinely startled.

Sky turned.

โ€œCan we talk?โ€ Sky asked.

Levi exhaled slowly.
โ€œIโ€™m not really in the mood for your arguments right now, Sky. Iโ€™m kinda busy andโ€”โ€

โ€œIโ€™m sorry.โ€

Levi froze.

His brows knit together as he stared at Sky.

โ€œHuh?โ€ He stepped closer. โ€œAre you drunk? Are you okay?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m sober,โ€ Sky said quietly. โ€œAnd yeahโ€ฆ Iโ€™m okay. Justโ€”โ€ He paused, jaw tightening. โ€œIโ€™m sorry for the way I treated you and Nancy. And Ginger.โ€

Levi didnโ€™t interrupt. He waited.

โ€œYou were worried about me,โ€ Sky continued. โ€œAll of you were. And I shouldnโ€™t have lashed out like that. I was frustrated. A lot is happening right now, and I just acted out.โ€

Silence followed.

Levi studied him for a moment, then let out a small breath and smiled.

โ€œWow,โ€ he said honestly. โ€œI didnโ€™t expect you to apologize.โ€

Sky gave a short, humorless huff. โ€œYeah. Neither did I.โ€

Levi shrugged lightly. โ€œItโ€™s fine. Weโ€™re cool.โ€

Sky nodded, relief flickering across his face. He shifted his weight. โ€œIโ€™ll be leaving now.โ€

โ€œLeaving?โ€ Levi frowned. โ€œNah. Sit down.โ€ He turned toward the built-in cellar. โ€œWhat do you want? Wine? Whiskey? Something light?โ€

โ€œI shouldnโ€™t,โ€ Sky said, but he didnโ€™t move toward the door.

Levi glanced back at him. โ€œYou came all the way here to apologize and youโ€™re just gonna dip?โ€

Sky hesitated, then finally sighed. โ€œOne drink.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s what I like to hear,โ€ Levi said, already reaching for a bottle.

Sky sat on the couch, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees, staring at the floor.

Levi poured the drinks and handed one to him.

โ€œSo,โ€ he said casually, dropping into the armchair opposite him. โ€œWhatโ€™s really going on with you? Have they been able to prove that the video was fake?โ€

Sky took another breath, then spoke again, quieter this time.

โ€œAs of now, they still canโ€™t trace the anonymous source the video came from,โ€ He said.

โ€œSo my team is trying to block anyone from filing a case against me. Weโ€™re also flipping the narrative claiming Iโ€™m being harassed with a fake video.โ€

โ€œTough.โ€Levi sighed, rolling his shoulders.

Sky looked at him then, really looked at him.

โ€œYou and Nancy are pretty close these days, huh?โ€

โ€œYes,โ€ Levi answered simply.

โ€œIs she your girlfriend?โ€ Sky asked.

Levi froze.

The room went still, the air tightening between them.

โ€œWhatโ€™s with the sudden question?โ€ Levi asked, tone even but guarded.

โ€œNothing,โ€ Sky said quickly. โ€œI just wanted to know.โ€

Levi tilted his head slightly. โ€œWhat do you think?โ€

Sky frowned. โ€œLevi, Iโ€™m serious. Is sheโ€ฆ your girlfriend?โ€

Levi studied him for a long moment, then asked, โ€œDo you like her?โ€

Sky stiffened. โ€œI didnโ€™t say I did.โ€

โ€œThen there probably isnโ€™t any reason for you to know whether sheโ€™s my girlfriend or not,โ€ Levi replied calmly.

Sky held his gaze for a second longer, then nodded once.

โ€œForget I asked.โ€

He lifted his glass and drank, the liquid burning down his throat as the silence settled back inโ€”thicker now, heavier, filled with things neither of them were ready to say.

______
[๐‚๐š๐Ÿ๐žฬ]

The waiter set their cups down gently, porcelain clicking against the saucers.

โ€œEnjoy,โ€ He said with a polite smile before walking away.

Rias barely noticed him.

Her fingers curled slowly around her cup as she leaned forward, eyes searching Hinataโ€™s face.

โ€œSoโ€ฆ mom,โ€ She asked quietly, trying to sound hopeful, โ€œHow was your conversation with Romeo? Did he agree to take me back?โ€

Hinata let out a short, humorless breath and lifted her cup.

โ€œGoodness, Rias,โ€ She said flatly. โ€œI donโ€™t know what kind of monster I birthed. That boy would rather be disowned by me than reject that Bianca.โ€

Riasโ€™s lips parted. Her fist tightened around her cup.

โ€œFuck,โ€ She muttered under her breath.

โ€œAnd Bianca? Canโ€™t you do something about her? Send her away? Transfer her? Anything?โ€

Hinata stirred her drink slowly, unbothered.

โ€œAs much as I want to,โ€ She replied, โ€œSheโ€™s important to the clan. And since Romeo is in charge, no one touches her without his word. That boy even threatened me.โ€

Riasโ€™s nails dug into her palm.

Hinata paused, then tilted her head slightly.
โ€œAlthoughโ€ฆ there is a way.โ€

Riasโ€™s breath hitched. โ€œWhat way, mom?โ€

Hinata leaned closer across the table, lowering her voice. Her presence suddenly felt heavier.

โ€œAre you willing,โ€ She asked calmly, โ€œ…to have Bianca killed?โ€

The world tilted.

Rias froze.

โ€œKillโ€ฆ?โ€ She whispered, the word stumbling out of her mouth like it didnโ€™t belong there.

Hinata studied her closely, eyes cold but steady.

โ€œIโ€™ve killed a couple of my enemies in the past,โ€ She said casually. โ€œBack when I was still active in the clan.โ€

Rias felt a shockwave roll through her chest. Her heartbeat thundered in her ears.

โ€œAs much as I wanted you in the Yakuza,โ€ Hinata continued, unfazed, โ€œ….your grandfather wouldnโ€™t allow it. Neither would I. You were different. Softer, smarter and becoming a doctor suited you. That was why we believed the marriage would work.โ€

Rias swallowed hard.

Of course becoming a doctor was her late fatherโ€™s dream and her own as well. Blood was never part of that picture.

โ€œBut,โ€ Hinata went on, her tone lowering, โ€œ…if Bianca disappearsโ€ฆ if you want her goneโ€ฆ I can show you how.โ€

Riasโ€™s fingers trembled around the cup.

โ€œItโ€™s your battle,โ€ Hinata said quietly. โ€œAnd youโ€™ll have to fight it if you want your husband back.โ€

Rias felt her throat tighten.

She imagined Biancaโ€™s face. Romeoโ€™s voice. His indifference. His rejection.

Then blood. Darkness. Consequences she couldnโ€™t undo. Could she really kill?

โ€œIโ€ฆ umโ€ฆ Iโ€ฆโ€ Rias stammered, her voice barely holding together.

For the first time, she truly understood something terrifying. This was the kind of woman Romeo came from and that’s the kind of woman Bianca is too.

Was that what he wanted? Someone just as ruthless to meet his standards?

Hinata chuckled softly, the sound low and controlled, almost teasing.

โ€œDonโ€™t be silly, Rias,โ€ She said, her sharp eyes scanning Rias. โ€œStuff like thatโ€ฆ itโ€™s not for you.โ€

Rias exhaled slowly, tension leaving her in a shaky rush. Her hands tightened around her coffee cup as if holding onto something solid.

Hinata set her own cup down and leaned back slightly, her tone changing, measured but commanding.

โ€œNowโ€ฆ get ready to go to Paris.โ€

Rias blinked. โ€œParis?โ€

โ€œYes,โ€ Hinata replied, her voice calm but deliberate.

โ€œHunter told me over the phone when I told him to talk to Romeo. He and Romeo are going to Paris for a college reunion. You can tag along as well. Iโ€™ll send you the details so you can go directly there.โ€

Rias tilted her head, hesitating. โ€œYou donโ€™t think Bianca would go?โ€

Hinataโ€™s lips curved slightly in a cold, almost knowing smile. โ€œI doubt it. This is your chance. Heโ€™s all yours there, Rias. And you can do whatever you want with him.โ€

Riasโ€™s eyes flicked down, a rush of excitement mixed with nervous anticipation.

โ€œThe hospitalโ€ฆโ€ she murmured, voice uncertain.

โ€œThe family owns the hospital,โ€ Hinata said sharply, but kindly. โ€œYou donโ€™t need anyoneโ€™s permission to leave when you want to. Just enjoy yourself.โ€

Rias felt a warmth bloom in her chest, gratitude and relief intertwining. โ€œThank you so much, Mom.โ€

โ€œAnything for you, my dear,โ€ Hinata replied, her eyes softening for the briefest moment before the edge returned, like steel wrapped in silk.

Rias nodded, trying to steel herself for what lay ahead, the trip, Romeo, and the plans she has for getting him back.

Hunter paced the room, frustration written all over him. He had called Billie earlier to come over, but she wasnโ€™t here yet.

He needed to fix this before leaving for Paris and handle his situation with Sasha.

The main door opened and Billie stepped in, closing it behind her. She looked around, a little surprised, it was the first time she had been in his house.

โ€œYouโ€™re late.โ€ Hunter said.

โ€œIโ€™m sorry. Traffic was bad, and I feel really dizzy right now.โ€ Billie replied, heading toward the couch.

โ€œFollow me.โ€ Hunter said, walking toward one of the rooms downstairs. She followed, dropping her bag.

Inside the room, Hunter poured a drink and handed it to her. โ€œLetโ€™s talk about the pregnancy, since youโ€™ve decided to keep it.โ€

โ€œI canโ€™t drink alcohol.โ€Billie looked at him.

โ€œYou think Iโ€™m stupid enough to give you alcohol?โ€ Hunter almost yelled. โ€œItโ€™s strawberry juice. Donโ€™t worry.โ€

She took it and sat on the bed.

โ€œSoโ€ฆ are you planning on taking responsibility?โ€ she asked, her voice thin, guarded.

Hunter didnโ€™t hesitate.
โ€œSure. But donโ€™t get it twisted, Iโ€™m not taking you back as a girlfriend. Not now. Not ever.โ€

Her brows furrowed. โ€œDid your girlfriend consent to this? Sheโ€™s not mad?โ€

He looked at her like sheโ€™d crossed a line.
โ€œWhat she thinks isnโ€™t your business.โ€

Her lips parted slightly.

โ€œSo you two arenโ€™t on good terms?โ€ A fragile hope flickered. โ€œThenโ€ฆ maybe we can just get back togetherโ€”โ€

She reached for his hand.

He let her touch him.

โ€œIโ€™ll take responsibility for the baby,โ€ he said flatly. โ€œNothing else.โ€

Billie picked up the cup with shaking fingers and drank, swallowing too fast, like she needed something, anything to ground herself. When she was done, she handed it back.

โ€œSo,โ€ She asked quietly, forcing steadiness into her voice, โ€œWhat exactly am I here for?โ€

Hunterโ€™s eyes darkened.

โ€œAn abortion.โ€

Her breath caught.

โ€œAbortion?โ€ Her voice cracked. โ€œI never said I wanted one.โ€

โ€œI never said I needed your permission.โ€

Her body went cold.

She swallowed hard, fingers clutching the bedsheet.

โ€œDid youโ€ฆ did you put something in my drink?โ€ Her voice trembled. โ€œDid you put abortion pills in them?โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ Hunter said calmly, stepping closer.

Her chest heaved.

โ€œBut,โ€ he continued softly, almost kindly, โ€œ…youโ€™re going to feel very sleepy. And when you wake up, this problem will be gone.โ€

A dark smile touched his lips.

โ€œOur baby will be gone.โ€

Billie grabbed his arm, panic flooding her face.

โ€œHunterโ€”no. You canโ€™t do this to me.โ€ Tears spilled freely now. โ€œPlease. I want to keep the baby. I wonโ€™t bother you, I swear. You donโ€™t have to take responsibility. Iโ€™ll disappear. Just let me keep my baby, please.โ€

Her voice broke into sobs.

He stared down at her, unmoved.

โ€œYou actually think Iโ€™d trust you to stay away from me?โ€ he said coldly. โ€œI have a girlfriend. One I intend to marry and you think Iโ€™d let you walk around with my child like a ticking bomb?โ€

He reached behind him and placed something heavy beside her on the bed.

A gun.

Her sobs turned into silent, shaking breaths.

โ€œOnce this is done,โ€ He said lowly, โ€œYouโ€™re going to forget I exist. Youโ€™re going to forget Sasha exists. You will stay far away from me.โ€

He leaned closer, his voice a whisper of death.

โ€œOr Iโ€™ll kill you.โ€

Her vision blurred. The room felt like it was tilting.

โ€œUnderstood?โ€ he demanded.

She nodded weakly, terrified, tears soaking the pillow beneath her head.

Her limbs felt heavy. Too heavy.

The ceiling swam. Her eyelids fluttered.

โ€œGood,โ€ Hunter said, straightening as her eyes slowly closed.

She slipped into darkness.

Hunter pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

โ€œCome to the room downstairs.โ€

Minutes later, quiet footsteps echoed. Two figures entered, doctors to be exact, carrying sealed cases and equipment meant for clinical use, their faces unreadable.

Hunter had already moved her, laying her carefully onto a sterile table in the inner room.

The air smelled sharp and cold.

โ€œCarry out the procedure,โ€ he said without looking back. โ€œCall me when youโ€™re done.โ€

He turned and walked out, the door closing behind him with a final, hollow sound.

And Billie lay unconscious, tears still dried on her cheeks.

Kai leaned back against the bed, arms folded, eyes dark with irritation as he read a report given to him by Emma.

โ€œSo itโ€™s true,โ€ He said flatly. โ€œSkyโ€™s agency is spinning the scandal to their favor.โ€

Emma scoffed. โ€œOf course they are. Theyโ€™re going to turn him into a saint, the plan wasn’t really worth it.โ€

Kaiโ€™s jaw tightened. โ€œI donโ€™t have time for that bullshit. I have bigger things to handle.โ€

Emma glanced at her phone again, the screen lighting up with Skyโ€™s name. Missed calls. Again.

โ€œHe keeps calling me,โ€ she muttered. โ€œCan I just end things with him already?โ€

Kai looked at her then. Slowly. Deliberately.

โ€œThatโ€™s exactly what youโ€™re going to do.โ€

Emma stilled. โ€œYou want me to break up with him?โ€

โ€œYes,โ€ Kai said calmly. โ€œYouโ€™ll lure him back to his old apartment. Tell him you want to talk to him. Whatever excuse works to get him out of the agency.โ€

โ€œAnd then?โ€

โ€œMake sure he stays there and doesn’t leave.โ€ Kai replied.

Emma swallowed. โ€œKaiโ€ฆโ€

โ€œOnce heโ€™s out of the picture, his agency can spin whatever story they want. There wonโ€™t be a Sky left to protect.โ€

The room fell quiet.

Emma exhaled slowly. โ€œYouโ€™re really going to kill him.โ€

โ€œIsn’t that my plan from the onset? I planned on making him commit suicide but it’s not going to work if they keep finding solutions instead if making Sky drown in his misery.โ€ Kai said.

He turned away, already done with the conversation.

Emma took out her phone and texted Sky.

Emma: Let’s meet up at your apartment.

Sky: Emma? So glad you texted.

Emma: Let’s meet at your apartment.

Sky: I won’t be able to leave yet until after a week, the scandal should’ve died down a bit. I also really need to talk to you.

Emma: Sure. I’ll text you when. I’ll be waiting for you there.

Sky: Can I call? I really miss you right now.

Emma: I’m a bit busy, bye.

She went offline immediately.

โ€œSo?โ€ Kai arched his brow.

โ€œHe agreed to meet up with me. You sure it won’t be traced back to me?โ€ Emma asked.

โ€œNo. I mean, he won’t even suspect you are behind it.โ€Kai said and Emma nodded.

Sasha stood by the window, arms crossed tightly over her chest as Hunter paced behind her.

โ€œBillie aborted the pregnancy. You donโ€™t have anything to worry about anymore.โ€

Sasha turned slowly.

โ€œNo.โ€ Her voice was calm, but her eyes burned. โ€œI donโ€™t believe that.โ€

Hunter stopped pacing. โ€œWhy wouldnโ€™t you?โ€

โ€œBecause Billie wouldnโ€™t just agree to something like that,โ€ Sasha shot back.

A beat of silence stretched between them.

โ€œDid you threaten her?โ€Her jaw tightened.

Hunterโ€™s expression barely shifted.

โ€œSasha…โ€

โ€œDid. You. Threaten. Her?โ€ she repeated, stepping closer.

He exhaled, rubbing his jaw. โ€œYouโ€™re overthinking this. She knew what keeping that baby would do. To me. To you. To everything. She agreed cause I told her she’s in her own if she decides to keep the baby.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s not an answer.โ€

โ€œShe made the choice,โ€ He said flatly. โ€œEnd of story.โ€

Sasha shook her head, disbelief twisting her face. โ€œYou expect me to believe that she just woke up one day and decided to do you a favor?โ€

Hunter reached for her arm. She pulled away immediately.

โ€œDonโ€™t touch me.โ€

His eyes darkened.

โ€œIโ€™m not ready to get back together,โ€ She said firmly. โ€œI’m still mad at you.โ€

โ€œGet back together?โ€He laughed under his breath.

โ€œYes,โ€ Sasha snapped. โ€œWe broke up, remember?โ€

Hunter stepped closer, his presence suddenly heavy, suffocating.

โ€œNo,โ€ He said quietly. โ€œWe didnโ€™t.โ€

Her pulse skipped. โ€œHunter…โ€

โ€œYou donโ€™t just break up with me, Sasha.โ€ He interrupted, voice dropping.

She stared at him, unsettled.

โ€œYouโ€™d have to kill me first.โ€

For a split second, fear flickered across her face.

Then he smiled.

Just like thatโ€”easy, charming, terrifying.

โ€œIโ€™m going to Paris,โ€ He said lightly. โ€œFor a college reunion. Come with me.โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ Sasha said immediately. โ€œYou should leave.โ€

He tilted his head. โ€œYouโ€™re still upset. C’mon Sasha, I apologized already..โ€

โ€œI said no. Pleaseโ€”just go.โ€

The doorbell rang.

They both turned toward the door as Rias walked in.

Hunterโ€™s smile widened.

Before she could react, he leaned in, pressed a kiss against her lipsโ€”soft, possessive, deliberate.

Then he pulled back.

โ€œSee you soon,โ€ he murmured.

He walked past her and out the door.

Sasha stood frozen in the middle of the apartment, her hand slowly rising to her mouth, her heart racing, dread settling deep in her chest as the door clicked shut behind him.

โ€œYou and your boyfriend are so sweet,โ€ Rias giggled as she walked past Sasha, heading straight for the cellar like she owned the place.

Sasha glanced over her shoulder. โ€œThought you said you were coming this afternoon. I was expecting you.โ€

โ€œI was with Aunt Hinata,โ€ Rias replied lightly, reaching for a bottle.

Sasha nodded once, not pressing. โ€œSo?โ€

Rias turned, eyes bright. โ€œWeโ€™re going to Paris.โ€

Sasha frowned. โ€œWhat for?โ€

Rias tilted her head. โ€œArenโ€™t you going with Hunter?โ€

โ€œNo.โ€

โ€œWell now youโ€™re going with me.โ€Rias smiled wider.

โ€œFor what exactly? What are you planning to do there? You and Romeo arenโ€™t even together. You were dumped.โ€Sasha laughed dryly.

โ€œ Sashaโ€ฆโ€ Rias warned softly, her smile tightening.

Sasha crossed her arms. โ€œIโ€™m serious. Paris isnโ€™t going to magically change the fact that he chose Bianca over you. You can’t convince the guy overnight.โ€

Rias walked closer, lowering her voice. โ€œParis gives me time, space and opportunity.โ€

โ€œOpportunity for what?โ€

โ€œFor Romeo,โ€ Rias said without hesitation. โ€œThere, Iโ€™ll have him to myself. No Bianca hovering around. No work distractions. Iโ€™ll make sure something happens between us before we come back.โ€

Sasha studied her face, unimpressed. โ€œDonโ€™t you think youโ€™re acting a little desperate?โ€

Rias didnโ€™t flinch. โ€œDesperate times call for desperate measures.โ€

She stepped closer, eyes hard now. โ€œI canโ€™t let Bianca win. I wonโ€™t. She took something that was meant to be mine and I’ll get it back..โ€

โ€œYou canโ€™t force someone to love you, Rias.โ€Sasha shook her head slowly.

โ€œI donโ€™t need to force him.โ€ Rias replied calmly. โ€œI just need to remind him of whom he needs more.โ€

She lifted her glass, smirking. โ€œAnd Paris is the perfect place to do that.โ€

The black car glided smoothly along the narrow road, its tinted windows reflecting nothing but endless green and the deep blue stretch of the ocean beside it.

Tall trees lined both sides, their shadows swallowing the asphalt as waves crashed faintly below the cliffside.

The island was isolated, guarded by nature itselfโ€”no signs, no houses, no life beyond what was meant to be here.

The vehicle slowed, then turned through a wide iron gate that blended almost seamlessly into the surrounding rock. Beyond it stood the Black Fang Clan compoundโ€”an expansive fortified estate hidden within the island.

High concrete walls wrapped around the grounds, reinforced with steel, surveillance cameras mounted at every angle.

The car rolled to a stop beneath the covered entrance.

The door opened.

A pair of black heeled boots stepped onto the stone pavement. The door slammed shut with a sharp echo as she straightened, adjusting her dark shades with practiced ease.

โ€œWelcome, Miss. Boss has been waiting for you,โ€ One of the guards said, bowing his head slightly before motioning forward.

โ€œSure,โ€ She replied calmly, following him without hesitation.

They walked through the main entrance and into a massive hallway that stretched endlessly ahead. Armed guards stood at intervals, silent, watchful, their presence heavy but disciplined.

At the end of the hall stood a set of tall double doors leading into what looked more like a private suite.

โ€œPlease, go in,โ€ The guard said, stepping aside.

She entered.

She walked further in, slowly, taking it all in.

Thenโ€”footsteps.

Her fingers lifted to her face as she slowly removed her shades, turning just as a figure appeared at the top of the stairs.

Derek descended with unhurried confidence, a smile already forming as his eyes landed on her.

โ€œDerek Parkerโ€ฆโ€ She drawled, smirking as she walked toward him.

He opened his arms and pulled her into a brief embrace, placing a light kiss on her cheek before stepping back.

โ€œMissed me?โ€ She asked, tossing her bag onto the nearest couch.

He chuckled softly, eyes lingering on her.

โ€œOf course,โ€ He said smoothly.

โ€œItโ€™s my pleasure to finally see you again, my pretty Bianca.โ€
